October OTT Overload: From Ghost Towns to Glamour Queens — A Streaming Month That Refuses to Sit Quiet

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 25: If you thought October was spooky only because of Halloween, wait till you see your OTT watchlist. This month, streaming platforms across India and beyond have unleashed a barrage of fresh titles — horror, biopics, rom-coms, thrillers, documentaries, even philosophical dramas that might make you question your subscription choices.

From Netflix’s adrenaline to Prime Video’s drama, Jio Hotstar’s crowd-pleasers to Viki’s heartfelt imports — the entertainment ecosystem seems to have collectively decided that your weekends don’t belong to you anymore.

And honestly, who’s complaining? (Well, apart from those of us still stuck at “Continue Watching: Episode 3 of something we forgot last week.”)

So, grab that remote, and maybe a coffee strong enough to get you through the avalanche — because October 2025’s OTT line-up is nothing short of cinematic chaos.

    October

    1. Param Sundari (Amazon Prime Video)

The rom-com that wants to be taken seriously — but winks while doing it.

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Cast: Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor
    Genre: Romantic Comedy
The Vibe: Think matchmaking meets modern apps, with culture clash and colour.

If Netflix has its dark thrillers and Hotstar its historicals, Prime Video has decided to serve up a sunny, syrupy rom-com just in time for Diwali. Param Sundari pairs a suave Delhi businessman with a free-spirited Kerala homestay owner — because apparently, North-meets-South is still the nation’s favourite recipe for cinematic “chemistry.”

While critics call it “pleasant but predictable,” the film’s visuals, soundtrack, and easy-watch tone make it perfect for that weekend slump. The screenplay, however, has drawn flak for being “safe.” Still, it’s the kind of film you’d gladly keep playing in the background while you decide what to watch next — and that’s saying something.

    October

    2. A House of Dynamite (Netflix)

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Genre: Crime Thriller / Heist
The Vibe: Explosions, double-crosses, and maybe a metaphor for Netflix’s strategy this month.

The name says it all — and thankfully, the film delivers on the promise. A tense, fast-paced, explosive narrative about a criminal syndicate whose biggest enemy might be each other.

Directed by Alejandro Pina (of Money Heist fame), A House of Dynamite fuses European aesthetics with Hollywood chaos. Cinematically sharp, narratively ambitious, and musically relentless — it’s a binge-worthy storm.

The caveat? It tries too hard to be the next “cool crime movie,” and sometimes forgets to breathe. But who’s watching a film named A House of Dynamite for subtlety anyway?

    October

    3. Parish (Netflix)

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Genre: Mystery Drama
The Vibe: Church secrets, guilt, redemption — and a bit of divine darkness.

Set in rural Ireland, Parish follows a disgraced priest navigating corruption within his own congregation. It’s not your typical comfort watch; this is Netflix at its moody best — all dimly lit confessionals and moral dilemmas thick enough to slice with a candle flame.

Visually haunting, narratively heavy, it’s one of those shows that critics call “slow-burn brilliance” while half the audience says “I fell asleep.” Either way, it earns its place on your list — provided you’re not looking for happy endings.

    October

    4. Shakthi Thirumagan (Jio Hotstar)

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Genre: Action / Political Drama
    The Vibe: Mass-hero meets message-movie.

Tamil cinema’s flair for socially charged storytelling continues with Shakthi Thirumagan. The film stars Arun Vijay as a grassroots activist turned reluctant hero. With punch dialogues, fiery rallies, and slow-motion rain sequences (obligatory, of course), this one’s crafted to make audiences cheer — and critics sigh.

Budgeted at ₹ 45 crore and shot across Chennai, Madurai, and Sri Lanka, it’s one of Jio Hotstar’s biggest South Indian acquisitions this season. Expect intensity, moral lessons, and a bit of melodrama — in that particular order.

    October

    5. The Dream Life of Mr Kim (Netflix)

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Genre: Korean Drama / Slice-of-Life
The Vibe: Soft, surreal, sentimental — and possibly your next emotional damage.

Netflix’s latest K-drama offering explores a middle-aged office worker who secretly writes alternate versions of his life every night. Imagine The Secret Life of Walter Mitty re-written by Bong Joon Ho with jazz.

Critics are calling it “a tender masterpiece about unfulfilled dreams.” Viewers are calling it “that show I didn’t expect to cry over.” Either way, it’s the emotional cleanse your weekend probably needs after too many crime thrillers.

    October

    6. Allen Iverson: The Crossover (Prime Video)

    Release Date: October 24, 2025
    Genre: Sports Documentary
The Vibe: Basketball meets rebellion — attitude with a soundtrack.

Prime Video’s latest biographical docu-series dives into the life of NBA legend Allen Iverson — his rise, controversies, cultural legacy, and that one unforgettable press-conference rant (“We talkin’ about practice!”).

Shot with cinematic flair, the series mixes archival footage with new interviews, creating what ESPN might have made if they cared about artistic direction.

Iverson’s life has always been more than basketball — it’s about identity, struggle, and standing your ground. Expect goosebumps, nostalgia, and maybe a few tears if you ever owned a pair of Reebok Questions.

    October

    7. It: Welcome To Derry (Jio Hotstar)

    Release Date: October 27, 2025
    Genre: Horror / Psychological
The Vibe: Clown’s back. So is your fear of bathroom drains.

Serving as a prequel to the It films, this HBO Max production (now streaming on Jio Hotstar in India) takes us back to the cursed town of Derry. It’s darker, slower, and eerily poetic — a kind of Gothic origin story that asks, “What if the horror began long before the clown?”

The series has already sparked major online buzz, partly due to Bill Skarsgård’s absence (yes, sadly) and partly because the atmosphere alone could freeze your coffee. Early reviews call it “moody and magnificent,” though some say it prioritises style over story.

Still, horror lovers? This is your Super Bowl.

    October

    8. Spirit Fingers (Viki)

    Release Date: October 29, 2025
    Genre: Coming-of-Age / Romance
The Vibe: Youth, art, awkwardness — and that sweet K-drama glow.

Adapted from a popular Korean webtoon, Spirit Fingers is a gentle, pastel-hued dive into self-discovery through art. It follows a high-school girl joining a quirky art club that helps her find not just her talent, but herself.

Viki’s strategy here is clear — keep feeding the global K-drama fandom the kind of content that gives them hope, heart flutters, and Instagram reels. It’s wholesome, charming, and about as visually soothing as warm sunlight through paper windows.

    The Streaming Verdict

October 2025 isn’t offering just entertainment — it’s staging a platform war. Each streamer seems to have picked a strategy:

    • Netflix is leaning into intensity — crime, philosophy, slow-burn brilliance.

    • Prime Video is doubling down on brand comfort: nostalgia, biopics, and family-friendly fluff.

    • Jio Hotstar is betting on mass reach — Tamil blockbusters, horror spin-offs, and headline-grabbing franchises.

    • Viki stays true to its niche — global emotions wrapped in pastels and piano scores.

The good news? You’ll have something for every mood.
The bad news? You’ll never run out of things to postpone watching.

    Final Thoughts: Binge Responsibly

We’re in an era where streaming platforms release more titles in one weekend than theatres did in a whole month a decade ago. It’s thrilling, chaotic, and a bit overwhelming.

But somewhere between a haunted Derry sewer and a dancing Janhvi Kapoor, there’s a story waiting to hit the right emotional chord.

So go on — light that Diwali lamp, dim that screen glow, and let your binge-list own you. Because if October 2025’s OTT calendar proves one thing, it’s this: content isn’t king anymore. It’s an empire.

  • IVF Treatment in India: How Much Does it Cost

IVF Treatment in India: How Much Does it Cost

New Delhi [India], October 25: India has become a sought-after destination for affordable and effective fertility treatments, including in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Prospective parents from around the globe are drawn to the country due to its advanced medical infrastructure, experienced fertility specialists, and competitive pricing. If you’re looking for an IVF center in India, understanding the costs, success rates, and available options can help you make an informed decision tailored to your needs.

Understanding IVF and How It Works

IVF, or in-vitro fertilization, is a form of assisted reproductive technology (ART) where an egg and sperm are combined outside the body in a laboratory setting. Once fertilization occurs, the resulting embryo is transferred to the uterus with the goal of achieving a successful pregnancy. This procedure is often recommended for couples experiencing infertility issues, including ovulation disorders, fallopian tube damage, low sperm count, or unexplained infertility.

The IVF process typically involves several stages, including ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo transfer, and the follow-up phase to confirm pregnancy. While the treatment process is consistent worldwide, the associated costs often vary, due to factors such as location, hospital infrastructure, and the expertise of medical professionals.

    IVF Costs in India

One of the significant advantages of opting for IVF treatment in India is its affordability when compared to other countries. The cost of IVF in India typically ranges between ₹1,00,000 and ₹2,50,000 per cycle ($1,200 to $3,000 approximately). However, this price range can vary depending on a variety of factors, such as the city, the clinic’s reputation, and any additional procedures or medications required.

For couples seeking treatment, it is essential to review the breakdown of IVF expenses. The total cost usually includes consultation fees, diagnostic tests, medications for ovarian stimulation, the retrieval process, fertilization, and embryo implantation. Some clinics may also provide comprehensive packages to cover these aspects, ensuring transparency in pricing.

IVF Cost in Major Indian Cities

The cost of IVF treatment can fluctuate based on the location, as metropolitan cities usually have more advanced facilities but also higher expenses. Here’s an overview of IVF costs in some Indian cities:

    • Mumbai: ₹1,50,000 – ₹3,50,000
    • Delhi: ₹1,20,000 – ₹3,00,000
    • Bangalore: ₹1,00,000 – ₹2,50,000
    • Chennai: ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000
    • Hyderabad: ₹1,00,000 – ₹2,40,000
    • Kolkata: ₹90,000 – ₹2,30,000
    • Jaipur :  ₹80,000 – ₹1,50,000

These variations are influenced by the clinic’s facilities, the expertise of fertility specialists, and available technology. Evaluating the success rates of a clinic and consulting other patients’ experiences can help streamline your decision when selecting the best IVF center in any Indian city.

    Factors Influencing IVF Costs

The affordability of IVF treatment does not mean compromising on quality, but patients should be aware of the factors influencing costs. These include:

    1. Type of Procedure: Some patients may need additional advanced procedures, such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) or Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), which can increase the overall expense.
    2. Medications: Hormonal drugs for ovarian stimulation vary in pricing based on brand and dosage required, contributing to treatment costs.
    3. Number of Cycles: Success may not always happen in the first cycle, and multiple cycles might be necessary, adding to the total cost.
    4. Clinic Reputation and Expertise: Clinics with highly experienced doctors and state-of-the-art facilities may charge premium prices for their services.
    5. Technology and Resources: Access to advanced equipment and embryology labs improves treatment precision and success rates, often influencing costs.

    Affordable IVF Options in India

India offers numerous IVF centers that succeed in combining affordability with cutting-edge technology. Clinics often present patients with tailored packages to meet specific medical and financial requirements. For those who need financial assistance, some clinics also collaborate with banks or financial institutions to provide easy installment options, making treatment more accessible.

Patients looking for affordable IVF treatment in India should research and compare options to find a center that aligns with their expectations for care and budget. Some renowned clinics include attempts to minimize financial strain while maintaining personalized care and high success rates.

    IVF Success Rates in India

The success rate of IVF treatment in India ranges between 40% and 60%, depending on various factors such as the patient’s age, the quality of eggs and sperm, and the expertise of the fertility team. Younger patients, typically below the age of 35, often experience higher chances of success due to better egg and sperm viability. Clinics equipped with the latest technology and skilled specialists can further improve your chances of a positive outcome.

It’s vital to remember that success rates also depend on individual circumstances, and discussing these variables with a specialist will provide clarity before proceeding with treatment.

Choosing the Best IVF Center in India

Finding the right IVF center is pivotal for a successful treatment experience. While costs are an important factor, evaluating the clinic’s quality of care, patient reviews, and success stories should also guide your decision.

    Key Considerations:

    • Check the credentials and experience of the fertility specialists.
    • Investigate the clinic’s infrastructure and technological advancements.
    • Compare pricing transparency and additional service options offered.
    • Look at patient testimonials and success rate data specific to the clinic.

    Final Thoughts

Looking for the best IVF center in Jaipur provides a beacon of hope for countless couples and individuals facing infertility challenges. With competitive costs, world-class technology, and a compassionate medical approach, patients can access top-notch care tailored to their financial and emotional needs. By understanding the factors affecting treatment prices and carefully choosing a reliable clinic, you can take a confident step forward in your fertility journey.

Whether you’re planning treatment in a bustling metropolitan hub or a quieter city, the available options for IVF treatment in India reflect a combination of affordability and quality that continues to attract patients globally.

  • India’s War on Naxalism: A Decade of Grit and Growth

India’s War on Naxalism: A Decade of Grit and Growth

New Delhi [India], October 25: India has turned its longest-running internal war into a masterclass of resolve. A decade ago, Naxalism held sway over forests and fear. Today, the government’s counter-offensive, mixed with development and dignity, is turning red zones into growth zones.

At the same time, the nation celebrates Chhath Mahaparv, a festival that reminds us what faith, patience, and sunlight can build when unity wins over despair.

A Decade that Broke the Back of Naxalism

For years, Naxalism was the stubborn scar on India’s security map. Now, numbers tell a story that even cynics can’t ignore. Between 2014 and 2024, Naxal-related violent incidents dropped by 53%. Deaths of security personnel plunged by 73%, civilian fatalities by 70%. What once was a daily headline has become a footnote.

The Union Government’s integrated strategy for security, development, and rehabilitation has worked like compound interest: consistent, relentless, transformative. Gone are the days of fragmented responses. What replaced them is a high-precision playbook blending boots on the ground, data in the air, and compassion at the heart.

    From Firefights to Fortified Foundations

Since 2014, the Centre has pumped muscle into the system: 576 fortified police stations, 336 new security camps, and night-landing helipads across hard terrain. The result? Naxal-affected districts fell from 126 to just 18. Only six remain in the “most affected” category.

Operations like Black Forest and Double Bull are no longer footnotes in police diaries; they’re case studies in how coordination beats chaos. Over 1,225 Naxals have surrendered, and 270 have been neutralised till October 2025.

The tech stack behind this shift is straight out of a modern warfare playbook: AI-backed surveillance, drone imaging, satellite tracking, forensic analytics, and real-time mobile data analysis. Security forces now fight smarter, faster, and with a digital edge once reserved for sci-fi scripts.

    Hitting the Naxal Wallet

You can’t wage a war without cutting off the cash. The government understood that early. The National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate have dismantled Naxal funding networks worth nearly ₹100 crore. Urban sympathisers who once drove propaganda now find themselves short on both funds and credibility.

It isn’t just enforcement, it’s financial amputation. The message is clear: ideology doesn’t pay the bills anymore.

Building States that Can Stand on Their Own

Delhi didn’t just centralise the fight; it empowered states to own it. Under the Security Related Expenditure scheme, ₹3,331 crore flowed to Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) states, a 155% jump from the previous decade. Add another ₹991 crore under the Special Infrastructure Scheme for elite state units and fortified stations, and you get why local policing feels more like special ops than beat patrol.

Since 2017, over ₹1,700 crore worth of projects have been cleared, and ₹445 crore disbursed already. It’s a bureaucratic turnaround, less paperwork, more patrol work.

    Infrastructure: The Real Weapon

You can’t preach peace to a man who walks 20 km for food. The real counter-insurgency, therefore, was asphalt and fibre optics.

Over 12,000 km of roads built. ₹20,815 crore sanctioned for 17,589 km in total. Thousands of 4G towers, 2,343 in Phase I and another 2,542 sanctioned in Phase II, lighting up dark zones with connectivity.

Banks, post offices, ATMs, and mobile vans now exist where even Google Maps hesitated to go. Nearly 38,000 banking correspondents, 5,899 post offices, and over 1,000 new bank branches now knit together what used to be isolation belts.

Education and skill training followed the same route. ₹495 crore under Kaushal Vikas Yojana funded 48 ITIs and 61 Skill Centres. The Bastariya Battalion, raised in 2018 with 1,143 local recruits, became a symbol of trust where suspicion once ruled.

    Reclaiming Red Zones, Restoring Faith

Operations Octopus, Chakrabandha, and Trace, Target, Neutralise have pulled entire regions, Budha Pahar, Parasnath, and Baramsia, back from insurgent control. Even Abujhmaad, once the untouchable fortress of Naxals, has seen security camps established inside.

In 2024 alone, 26 major encounters broke the chain of command: 1 zonal, 5 sub-zonal, and 2 state-level leaders eliminated. That’s not a dent; that’s dismantling the engine.

Rehabilitation remains the final frontier. Ex-cadres receive ₹5 lakh (for top ranks), ₹2.5 lakh (mid-rank), and ₹10,000 monthly stipends for 36 months of vocational training. The result is real reintegration, ex-Naxals building schools instead of bunkers.

    A Festival that Reflects a Nation’s Soul

While the forests of Bastar turn quiet, the ghats of Bihar and UP light up. Chhath Mahaparv, the four-day festival of sun worship, has begun, an ode to purity, perseverance, and the Indian way of balancing grit with grace.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message struck a familiar chord: unity, discipline, and devotion. He reminded the nation that Chhath isn’t just a festival; it’s a mirror of India’s cultural DNA, where simplicity outshines spectacle, and faith conquers fatigue.

His post celebrated the global resonance of the tradition, where Indian families from California to Kuala Lumpur gather to offer arghya to the setting and rising sun. It’s ancient spirituality with global bandwidth.

The Prime Minister even shared devotional music, songs of Chhathi Maiya, as a tribute to cultural icons like Sharda Sinha, linking modern India’s digital pulse with its folk heart.

Security and Spirituality: Two Faces of the Same Resolve

There’s a strange poetry in this timing. On one side, a decade-long, data-driven dismantling of Naxalism. On the other hand, a festival where millions stand in rivers at sunrise, praying for renewal.

Both tell the same story: resilience.

India isn’t just winning wars, it’s rediscovering balance. The government’s counter-Naxal success and Chhath’s enduring appeal show the same truth: progress means peace, but peace needs purpose. As India eyes a Naxal-free map by March 2026, the deeper victory is cultural, faith in systems, in sunlight, in something larger than fear.

  • ‘Regretting You’: A 2025 Colleen Hoover Adaptation | A Beautiful Mess of Emotion and Execution

‘Regretting You’: A 2025 Colleen Hoover Adaptation | A Beautiful Mess of Emotion and Execution

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 25: Hollywood has a long-standing obsession — turning bestselling novels into cinematic sensations. Sometimes it works (The Fault in Our Stars), sometimes it falls flat (After We Collided). Somewhere in between lands, Regretting You — the much-anticipated adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel that promised tears, tension, and tenderness… and delivered about two-thirds of that.

With Allison Williams leading the cast and Hoover’s diehard fandom ensuring early buzz, the film entered theatres with expectations higher than its emotional payoff. It’s not a disaster — just that rare film that’s beautiful to look at, but occasionally hollow at its core.

The Story: When Love, Loss, and Teen Rebellion Collide

At its heart, Regretting You is a story about a mother and daughter — grief-stricken, misunderstood, and connected by secrets that could break them apart.
Allison Williams plays Morgan, a mother trying to hold her world together after the death of her husband. Her teenage daughter, Clara, is dealing with her own storm — first love, betrayal, and the burden of living up to expectations she never asked for.

It’s a slow-burning domestic drama sprinkled with young love and midlife heartbreak. Hoover’s novel thrived on emotional intimacy; the film tries, sometimes too hard, to mirror that same tenderness. The result? A narrative that occasionally feels too polished for its own good.

    Regretting

What Works — and What Doesn’t

Here’s a quick snapshot of how the film is faring critically and commercially:

    Category Highlights
Lead Performances Allison Williams shines with restraint, grounding the chaos. Clara’s portrayal (played by a fresh-faced newcomer) feels raw and genuine.
Direction Emotionally careful but visually stunning — occasionally over-reliant on melancholic silence.
Cinematography Exceptional framing; the suburban melancholy feels painterly.
Screenplay Faithful to the novel, but sometimes too linear and emotionally sanitised.
Music Subtle, almost invisible. Works in emotional peaks but lacks memorability.
Box Office (Week 1) ~$6.8 million domestic; $10.4 million worldwide (approximate early estimates).
Budget Estimated $15–18 million (production + marketing).
Verdict (so far) Aesthetic success; emotional inconsistency keeps it from greatness.

Critical Reception: A Mixed Bag of Applause and Eye-Rolls

The reviews read like an emotional seesaw.

    • The Hindu called it “a beautifully vacant adaptation” — praising the craft but questioning the soul.

    • Hollywood Reporter described it as “earnest and elegant, though it drifts into melodrama.”

    • Hindustan Times went a little sharper, saying the film “tries to make you cry but barely makes you care.”

    • Meanwhile, BoxOfficePro optimistically noted that the movie “brings romance back to the big screen in a refreshingly grounded way.”

In short, critics admire the film’s sincerity but can’t help wishing it had more bite.

    Regretting

    The Heart vs. The Hype

Let’s be fair — Regretting You is not devoid of heart. There are moments of quiet brilliance:
a mother reading her late husband’s old letters, a daughter confronting the ghosts of her childhood, and the awkward beauty of forgiveness that doesn’t come easy.

Williams’ restrained performance anchors the film. She doesn’t overplay grief; she lets it simmer. The chemistry between the leads feels authentic, even when the screenplay stumbles. The director (whose minimalist style recalls indie dramas more than mainstream romance) treats silence as dialogue — though at times, the silence stretches too long.

But the problem isn’t in the acting — it’s in the emotional architecture. The film builds tension but doesn’t always know where to release it. By the third act, you realise you’ve been waiting for a crescendo that never quite arrives.

    Regretting

Box Office & Buzz: Modest but Promising

Despite its critical split, Regretting You opened decently in the U.S. and select international markets. According to BoxOfficePro, early weekend collections hovered around $6.8 million domestic and $10.4 million worldwide, a respectable start for a mid-budget drama in a superhero-saturated landscape.

The film reportedly spent around $15–18 million on production and marketing — largely justified by the visual quality, strong soundtrack rights, and location shoots. While it may not be an instant blockbuster, steady word-of-mouth from Colleen Hoover fans (and their book-club circles) could give it a longer theatrical shelf life than expected.

Online, Hoover’s fandom has been doing much of the heavy lifting. Twitter (or X, if you insist) is full of teary emojis, character debates, and “book vs. movie” wars. Instagram reels, quoting the film’s more sentimental dialogues, have racked up millions of views — proof that, in the world of modern PR, emotional relatability often trumps critical acclaim.

    Regretting

    The Cinematic Aesthetic: Pretty Pain

The film is visually gorgeous. Think honey-toned sunsets, coffee-stained letters, and slow pans over rain-soaked driveways. The cinematography is clearly designed to romanticise grief — every tear seems backlit by golden light.
It’s almost too pretty at times, as if heartbreak needs to pass through a filter before it’s palatable.

But therein lies the irony: in trying to look beautiful, Regretting You sometimes forgets to feel real. You might find yourself admiring the color grading more than the characters’ choices.

The PR Spin: Love, Loss, and “Healing Cinema”

From a marketing perspective, this film is a dream — it’s emotional, book-based, and tailor-made for digital nostalgia. The campaign’s tagline, “Every love has its regret,” has done wonders online. Influencers and book reviewers have spun it into a motivational mantra, inadvertently giving the movie a second wind after its lukewarm critical debut.

Allison Williams, in interviews, has championed the film as “a reflection of forgiveness and emotional honesty.” It’s a smart move — the kind of PR framing that transforms a middling romantic drama into a healing narrative in the public eye.

Final Verdict: Regret? Maybe. Worth a Watch? Definitely.

Regretting You is like that bittersweet cup of coffee you didn’t plan to love but finished anyway. It’s not perfect — in fact, it’s deeply flawed — but it’s also warm, sincere, and visually soothing.
Yes, it plays it safe. Yes, it drifts. But in an era of formulaic reboots and VFX explosions, there’s something comforting about a film that chooses quiet contemplation over chaos.

If you’re a Colleen Hoover loyalist, you’ll find enough to defend passionately.
If you’re a critic, you’ll find plenty to dissect.
If you’re somewhere in between: you might just walk out a little nostalgic… and a little forgiving.

Now, Don’t Just Buy Gold. Buy SmartGold

Founders Amit Lalit Jaain and Hanissh Kanakraj Jaain unveiling Ritvaa SmartGold Mangalsutra with Sonali Bendre

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 25: Ritvaa, a new-age jewellery brand with a legacy rooted in gold craftsmanship, made a star-studded premiere with noted Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre unveiling its SmartGold Jewellery collection at a glittering launch event held at the Intercontinental, Mumbai.

The evening saw the launch of Ritvaa’s elegant line of SmartGold Mangalsutras — designs that beautifully blend timeless traditions with modern sophistication. Each piece celebrates the strength, grace, and individuality of today’s woman, for whom tradition is not a constraint but an expression of self.

For centuries, the mangalsutra has been more than an ornament — it is a sacred symbol of love, trust, and commitment. With Ritvaa SmartGold, this eternal sentiment finds a new voice — lighter in feel, versatile in design, and enduring in beauty.

Welcoming guests at the event, Mr. Hanissh Jaain, Co-founder of Ritvaa, shared,“Ritvaa’s SmartGold jewellery is crafted for the woman who embodies balance — confident yet rooted, modern yet mindful. For her, gold is not just a possession but a reflection of emotion and meaning, worn with pride every day.

Made with certified 24-carat SmartGold, Ritvaa’s jewellery gives women the freedom to wear gold fearlessly, every day, everywhere, without the worry of lockers or limitations. In an industry first, Ritvaa also offers a 100% lifetime gold buyback guarantee, making it not just a style choice but a smart choice.

Speaking about the inspiration behind Ritvaa, Mr. Amit Jaain, Co-founder, said, “The modern Indian woman no longer wears gold just for tradition — she wears it for herself. Ritvaa was born to make that emotion tangible — to reimagine the mangalsutra as a symbol that moves with her, through every phase of life. SmartGold is not just innovation; it’s the evolution of tradition.

The event also featured the unveiling of five signature sets of SmartGold Mangalsutras, followed by a heartfelt showcase where five real women, not models, walked the ramp alongside professionals, each adorned in a Ritvaa design that reflected her individuality. The gesture symbolised Ritvaa’s ethos: jewellery that lives in the everyday, not just on occasions.

Ritvaa’s SmartGold collection will be launched on-ground soon through SmartGold Lounges/ Experience Centers across major metros and Tier-2 cities. The brand’s design philosophy brings together Indian artistry and contemporary minimalism, tailored to regional preferences while maintaining a universally elegant appeal.

  • Chaniya Toli: The 2025 Gujarati Heist Comedy Strikes Gold — But Can It Hold On?

Chaniya Toli: The 2025 Gujarati Heist Comedy Strikes Gold — But Can It Hold On?

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 25: There’s never a dull moment in the world of regional cinema, and Chaniya Toli is living proof of that. The Yash Soni-led Gujarati film has burst onto screens with a spirited blend of rural comedy, social commentary, and a heist plot that feels both familiar and fresh. But while the early box-office fireworks are real, there are hints it might be more of a flash in the pan than a steady blaze.

A Record-Breaking Opening (and a Rocky Road Thereafter)

Chaniya Toli opened on 21 October 2025 and immediately turned heads — with an estimated ₹ 1.20 cr net on day one, according to Sacnilk. The reception was surprisingly strong for a Tuesday, with overall Gujarati occupancy reaching 41.79% across major centres like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Gandhinagar.

In fact, the makers later claimed the first-day collection was even higher — around ₹ 1.41 crore, which would make it the highest ever opening day for a Gujarati film, surpassing the previous record held by Fakt Mahilao Maate. Whether 1.2 cr or 1.41 cr, the buzz was unmistakable.

Over the next few days, the film continued to draw audiences, but with a typical weekday-to-weekend fluctuation. On Day 2, Sacnilk reported ~₹ 1.14 cr net. On Day 3, it edged upward again to ₹ 1.35 cr net, bringing the three-day total to ₹ 3.85 cr. Then came Day 4, where trade-estimates (from sources like Tenvow) suggest a gross of around ₹ 1.60 cr for that day — pointing to strong evening/morning traction, though data remains a little murky.

But then Day 5 was… well, anticlimactic. Sacnilk data puts it at just ₹ 0.01 cr in India net.  That’s not a typo — if these early estimates hold, it would indicate a steep drop-off from the early momentum. After five days, the total net stands around ₹ 4.79 crore.

    Chaniya

    What’s Chaniya Toli Even About?

The film is directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi, and produced under the banner of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Jannock Films.  It stars Yash Soni, Netri Trivedi, Chetan Daiya, Heena Varde, Ragi Jani, Maulik Nayak, and others, in a deceptively simple yet clever narrative.

Set in a drought-stricken Gujarati village, the story centers around the Jan Seva Sahkari Bank — a cooperative bank that has become a symbol of exploitation and debt for the villagers. Yash Soni plays a schoolteacher who, ostensibly to “help” the village, hatches a plan: a heist. But here’s the twist — the men of the village refuse to risk their necks, so seven women step up to pull off the robbery. Then things get messy: a politician, a TV reporter, and local power dynamics intervene, turning the simple plan into a complex, humor-laden rollercoaster.

The rural milieu is captured beautifully — the movie was shot in Sunav village near Anand, Gujarat, and the rustic setting adds a grounded charm to a rather surreal caper. Netri Trivedi’s portrayal of a squint-eyed woman is particularly noteworthy; she reportedly maintained that look throughout shooting, a testament to her commitment.

    Chaniya

Critical Response: Laughs Abound (But Don’t Think Too Deep)

DeshGujarat’s review summed it up succinctly: “Laugh first, think later.” As a one-time watch, it lands more often than not — delivering half a dozen laugh-out-loud moments, thanks to its spirited ensemble and playful writing. The pacing, however, isn’t always smooth. According to the review, the second half drags at times, and some plot turns feel a little convenient.

Still, the tone works: it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s perhaps its greatest strength. Between the banter, the heist, and the inevitable social commentary, Chaniya Toli feels like a warm, cheeky hug — not a heavyweight drama. But if you’re looking for logical perfection or intensely realistic stakes, you might find the film wanting.

    Chaniya

The Business of It: Success With Caveats

From a PR standpoint, the producers have a lot to celebrate. According to Filmibeat, Anand Pandit is ecstatic, calling the strong opening “proof that good content always wins, no matter the competition or scale.”  And there’s history to back that up — this is not Pandit’s first successful Gujarati film, and his collaboration with Vaishal Shah clearly continues to pay off.

But the steep drop on Day 5 can’t be brushed under the carpet. A ₹ 0.01 cr showing (if accurate) reveals two possible truths: either the film’s appeal is heavily front-loaded, or the word-of-mouth is already plateauing. Unless there’s a resurgence (weekend bumps, repeat audiences, or expansion into wider markets), the “smash record” narrative may turn out to be more PR bravado than a sustained run.

There’s also no reliable, publicly disclosed budget figure, which makes it harder to assess how profitable the film might really be. Sacnilk’s box-office data notes that their estimates are approximate, and they explicitly disavow making authenticity claims. That caveat is worth remembering for anyone hyping this as a runaway hit.

The Lighter Side — And the Lessons

    • Positives: Chaniya Toli brings freshness to Gujarati cinema — a female-led heist in a village setting, strong local flavor, and a balance of comedy and social themes. Yash Soni’s unpretentious performance and Netri Trivedi’s dedication add credibility, while the direction and writing allow the film to be fun without feeling frivolous. Early box-office numbers back up the love — the opening day alone suggests many Gujarati moviegoers are hungry for this kind of content.

    • But… there’s a risk. The plummet on Day 5 signals fragility. Sustaining momentum will require more than just the initial buzz; it will demand repeat business, perhaps deeper emotional resonance, or expansion beyond the core Gujarati audience. The lack of publicly disclosed financials (budget, break-even point) makes it tricky to call this a “blockbuster” concretely.

    In a Nutshell

Chaniya Toli is a bold, cheeky attempt to do something different in Gujarati cinema — a rustic heist comedy with a satirical edge. It’s not flawless, but its heart is in the right place, and for many, that’s enough. The early box-office surge is promising, but unless the film manages to hang on beyond its initial rush, its legacy may be more about “what could have been” than “what was.”

If you’re looking for a fun, light-hearted outing with a local flavor and a dose of social satire, Chaniya Toli is worth your ticket. But don’t mistake it for a heavyweight crowd-puller — its long-term fate is still very much up in the air.

Celebrating the Eternal Power of Art, Literature, and Culture — “Bhasha & Beyond 3.0”

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], October 25: Pune, YASHADA Campus: The much-awaited literary festival “Bhasha & Beyond 3.0,” organized on the 4th and 5th of October by the Literary Warriors Group (LWG), unfolded in all its grandeur in Maharashtra’s cultural capital, Pune. The two-day celebration turned into a vibrant confluence of art, literature, and culture—an exquisite testimony to the timeless power of creative expression.

     The Legacy of LWG

Founded in 2011, the Literary Warriors Group (LWG) was envisioned to keep the flame of creativity alive while providing a shared platform for writers, poets, storytellers, and artists. With its philosophy rooted in “quality over quantity,” LWG has steadily grown into a global literary family of over 2,96,000 active members. Over the years, its reach has extended beyond India’s borders, nurturing creative voices from across the world.

After successfully organizing festivals in Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, and CME Pune last year, this year’s Bhasha & Beyond 3.0 at YASHADA Campus, Pune, marked yet another milestone in LWG’s illustrious journey.

     Inaugural Ceremony

The festival was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of:

    • Mr. Niranjan Kumar Sudhanshu, Director General, YASHADA
