  • Candid chat with Mrs India Earth Poonam Chaubey

    December 28:

Q:-Firstly Congratulations, So Poonam Please tell us something about yourself?

    Thank you for your wishes.

I am from Mumbai, started my career after I got married; while most people think life ends after marriage, it was the other way around for me. I hold a masters degree in journalism, have worked as a newsreader/anchor with a leading news channel in the past and am now a freelance journalist. I’m also a trained radio jockey because I love to talk. I have worked on several modelling assignments and have done many ads. I have also done a film (unreleased) and have been offered a web series; if things work out well should start working on it soon. Fingers crossed.

    Q:-How did Mrs India happen?

Ans:-The credit goes to my friends and family. They have always pushed me to reach my maximum potential. They insisted I should participate in a Pageant like this and were sure, if I did, I would definitely win, so the entire credit goes to them for always encouraging, supporting and helping me achieve all my dreams. As a child, I’ve always fancied beauty pageants but never really thought that I would be a part of it someday, and now, after winning Mrs India Earth as one of the top three winners and getting the Mrs Photogenic and Mrs Popular award, I feel great.

Q:-How do you feel after winning?

Ans :-I’m overwhelmed and so glad I participated. There was a very tough competition as the contestants were from various fields, from across the globe, so talented, so beautiful, and so well prepared. Each one of them was an achiever in their own right and had made it to the finalist. So reaching here, when you have such tough competition, is a very special feeling altogether. And this was all thanks to my family, my Bhabhi-Sushma Mishra, my Bhaiya-Rohit Mishra, my Husband-Vikas Chaubey, my Daughter-Avantika Chaubey and my In-laws-Krishna Kumar Chaubey and Sadhana Chaubey. My designer-Shaili and my coach-Rita Gangwani, also supported and helped me a lot. All of them have been of Supreme help to me; without them, I don’t think this would have been possible. Because doing anything like this is not easy, it takes a village of people to get everything done. And I’m so grateful I had all of them in my life.

Q:-Did you come across any hurdles through your journey?

Ans:-Hurdles! No, I don’t think so, I look at it that way, I am a 21st century woman, and I believe in finding solutions. If Plan A doesn’t work, you have to move to Plan B.  I don’t give up, I can multi-task, and if I set my heart on to something, I really make sure I get it. My mantra for success is ,’stay focussed, determined and disciplined and you shall have whatever you want in life.’

Q:-How did you prepare for it ?

Ans :-A lot of hard work, dedication and commitment is needed. I had to follow strict workout regimes, super strict diet, keep myself updated, practice a lot on my walk with heels, balance work with family had sleepless nights and have to give on all the comforts to prepare myself. It’s not at all easy. Having said that, I would also like to add that anything is possible if you have the right people with you, like your family, your coach, your designer, makeup artist and many others.

I’m so grateful for all of them, especially my coach Ms Rita Gangwani who was extremely helpful and supportive. She’s a fantastic mentor and helped me spot my potential and made me believe that I could do it and come out in flying colours.

Q:-Whats your take on women empowerment?

Ans:-I am a woman, and I don’t think there is anything in this world that I can’t do. I think we already possess dynamic abilities in ourselves, and we don’t need any kind of empowerment. I read it somewhere,”if you want to see how powerful a woman is, just try to take her child away and see how she reacts.”

The least one can do is not create unnecessary hurdles and see what she can achieve.

And to my fellow sisters, to all the homemakers, everyone who’s trying, I want to tell you, you matter, you’re important, and you are doing great. If there is anything you want to achieve in life, you can, and you should, do not neglect your dreams and desires. If you want it, go get it. Just the way I did.

Q:- Can you enlighten us with your future career plans?

Ans: I am an actor and model by profession. Hence, I would like to work in the same direction. My focus would be choosing the right films and doing some meaningful cinema.

  • Is Renaissance in Sales happening? By Dinkar Rao

December 28: “We would like to change the way we work, but we don’t have time and resources to develop our people” Typically, some of the busy business leaders would make this statement, as they would be occupied with various activities that usually takes away a lot of time on a regular basis. If that’s the situation, how will we be able to address the people-related priorities that need our attention? Do we consider developing our own team as a strategic priority?

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn”. – Alvin Toffler

Businessmen, Experts, Technologists and Futurists have suggested that the next few decades will herald the fourth industrial revolution. The fourth industrial revolution will be certainly driven by digitization, information and communications technology, machine learning, robotics and artificial intelligence; and will shift a good part of decision-making mechanisms from humans to machines. The ability to strike the right balance between human intelligence and artificial intelligence will be key for any sustainable growth. Climate change, Pandemic, geopolitical situations, localisation vs Globalisation, ageing population, and disruptive technologies will alter our ways of working.

How do we build Sales capabilities in the current times? Are we heading towards a “Renaissance” period for reinventing sales and businesses?

Selling is probably as old as the history of any economic activity. It has some timeless challenges and opportunities for any business. Nothing dramatically new, nothing of some outstanding importance has been discovered in recent years when it comes to sales as a function. As a philosophy, most of what we know has been known for ages.

Will the ensuing societal changes have a profound impact on B2B Selling and B2C selling? All aspects of the customer acquisition process, Account retention, Key Account Management, Stakeholder Management, and the whole meaning of sales productivity will undergo a substantial change. Clearly, we have entered a new phase of performing sales. And this period will be far for inclusive than ever before. A new approach towards conducting our business will have its roots in timeless wisdom with enormous abilities to absorb the benefits emerging from an AI-driven economy. And this Sales renaissance emerges with the diversity of thoughts, discerning views, heterogenous work cultures, and constantly changing landscape of business.

    Some questions –

    • What do we refresh in our sales and business approach with all the sweeping changes happening around?
    • What do we do to retain timeless wisdom despite all the disruptive changes happening around us?
    • What will be the significant changes in the ways to lead people?
    • What will be the changes in the ways to measure productivity and impact on the business?

Many more questions need constant reflection and openness to embrace changes. Sales renaissance emerges with the diversity of thoughts, discerning views, heterogenous work cultures and constantly changing landscape of business.

Are we inclusive enough to navigate through these changes? Let’s face the questions.

  • udazH, First Portable Molecular Hydrogen Inhaler of India Announces Bhagyashree as their Brand Ambassador

Molecular Hydrogen to be The Next-Gen Personal Wellness Tool for Preventive & Therapeutic Healthcare

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 28: udazH, India’s first portable molecular hydrogen generating machine, today announced well-known Indian Film actress and social worker, Bhagyashree as their brand ambassador. Bhagyashree will be the face of udazH’s 360-degree marketing and brand activities which will also include brand films.

Made available for personal use for consumers across the country, this Next-Gen Personal Wellness tool, designed with state-of-the-art features, will play a vital role for preventative & therapeutic healthcare. The speciality of the machine is its dual-use technology, where two persons can inhale at the same time.

“I’ve experienced a subtle uptick in my sense of well-being after using the machine. I’m not looking to resolve or heal any specific physical issues but optimise my overall health and cognition. Homeostasis is a great word to describe the sense of well-being from an hour’s session with the inhalator each day,” says Bhagyashree sharing her first-hand experience with udazH.

Molecular hydrogen is the latest buzzword in the booming wellness industry, and its potential as a preventative wellness tool is too big to ignore. It is a gas that is found in trace amounts in the air (0.00005%). It can act as an antioxidant and is thought to protect cells from oxidative stress-related damage. Hydrogen can be inhaled as a gas at low concentrations (1-3%).

Since the 2007 discovery that molecular hydrogen (H2) has selective antioxidant properties, multiple studies have shown that H2 has beneficial effects in diverse human diseases. Vast research in recent times indicates that being a smaller, lighter molecule along with its superb bioavailability property, Hydrogen molecule (H2) is the only molecule that can penetrate into the sub-cellular level of the body and act as a powerful selective antioxidant. Regulated amounts of Hydrogen gas with a rapid diffusion rate penetrates cell membranes and easily crosses the blood-brain barrier to provide benefits at the sub-cellular level, where other antioxidants are incapable of reaching.

“Free radicals are what lead to oxidative stress in our mitochondria and can cause severe damage to both our DNA and our body’s fundamental proteins at the molecular level. Although it’s not the first substance to come to mind when most of us think ‘antioxidants’, molecular hydrogen is one of the most powerful antioxidants in existence. H2 selectively neutralizes free radicals, reduce oxidative stress, boost our body’s innate antioxidant production and anti-inflammatory cytokines. Visible results like better skin tone, improvement in lungs activity, and a fresh lease of youthfulness in your body can be clearly observed by yourself after a month of inhalation, explains Dr. Babu Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director, Serene Envirotech Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai.

Free radicals are unstable atoms formed inside mitochondria (tiny power plants) in each cell of our body. As mitochondria break down the food, you eat to generate energy, with the oxygen we breathe produce free radicals as waste. Out of the different free radicals generated, Hydroxyl Radicals are the most dangerous ones, and they can cause a lot of damage inside your cells and cause serious illness and ageing. The amount of free radicals formed inside the cells is directly influenced by the sedentary lifestyle and the polluted environment we live in. Keeping free radicals under control is the fundamental key to health, quality of life and longevity. The imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants can cause cellular oxidative stress and lead to disorders/diseases. Oxidative stress is a marker for many modern diseases.

“Since hydrogen inhalation has such a primary effect on the body with its ability to reduce overall oxidative stress, it has a wide range of applications. Many times, I’ve found that, when a healing protocol has an effect on such a long list of conditions, people get skeptical. udazH is a simple portable molecular hydrogen generating machine, which ensures 99.99 per cent pure and stable hydrogen outflow with zero additives. The H2 generated is scientifically proven to be safe and efficient for human consumption. This cost-effective and durable product is easy to handle and boasts an intelligent and simple monitoring and reminder display system, adds Dr. Babu Sudhakar.

By inhaling the molecular hydrogen generated in udazH, you can provide your cells antioxidant power to combat oxidative stress and support the body’s ability to maintain

homeostasis by neutralizing harmful free radicals and boosting the internal antioxidant system. Depending on your health needs and goals, the simple one hour ritual of taking a break with the inhaler might be an incredible investment in your health as also your family health. Regular inhalation of H2 can help elder family members to age gracefully with lesser health problems and reduce dependency on the medication.

The core amazing health benefits of Hydrogen inhalation are as follows:

    • Neutralize free radicals
    • Balance antioxidant at cellular level
    • Enhance better skin health and tone
    • Improves allergies and asthma conditions.
    • Revive vital organs performance
    • Restore energy levels, less body fatigue, faster recovery
    • Eases autoimmune disease affecting your joints or skin.
    • Augment athletic performance, healthy weight management
    • Rejuvenate overall cellular health
    • Instill the sense of well-being in your body

Unlike therapeutic oxygen, which needs to be closely monitored and prescribed through a doctor, a hydrogen inhaler can be easily managed at home on your own, and the only requirement to operate udazH is purified distilled/deionized water. An overdose of hydrogen has never been reported. In fact, Hydrogen-infused water has been granted Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status by the FDA, which means that it is generally considered safe for human consumption.

New Delhi (India), December 27: The year 2021 has all set to bid us good-bye leaving behind some bitter memories, but the pandemic has increased the primacy of healthcare significantly. In line with digital transformation in the wake of Covid, healthcare awareness, counselling and consultation have also gone digital. But unfortunately, the unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how the spread of misinformation, amplified on social media and other digital platforms, is proving to be as much a threat to global public health as the virus itself. However, technology advancements and social media create opportunities to keep people safe, informed and connected. But at the same time, these tools also enable and amplify the current INFODEMIC that continues to undermine the global response and jeopardizes measures to control the pandemic.

A study published in the reputed journal MDPI by Researchers from Dhaka University on ‘Fake News’, came up with very interesting facts like:

    • The seven themes of fake news are health, religiopolitical, political, crime,
Entertainment, religious, and miscellaneous. Health-related fake news (67.2%) is on the top of the list that includes medicine, medical and healthcare facilities, viral infection, and doctor-patient issues.
    • Second, the seven types of fake news contents are text, photo, audio, video, text and photo, text and video, and text and photo and video. More fake news takes the form of text and video(47.2%).
    • Third, online media produces more fake news (94.4%) than mainstream media (5.6%). More interestingly, four social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube, produce most of fake news.
    • Fourth, relatively more fake news has international connections (54.4%) as
the COVID-19 pandemic is a global phenomenon.
    • Fifth, most of the COVID-19-related fake news is negative (63.2%), which could be a real threat to public health.

To provide a 100% credible platform for better health consciousness and awareness about health and wellness to the people digitally, and to address the pandemic associated health challenges by including India’s topmost Medical, Public Health & Wellness Experts, HEAL Foundation’s ‘Health4All Online’ weekly health show sponsored by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. – A Viatris Company has gained audiences’ traction with half a million video views in just 10 weekly episodes since its launch in November 2021.

It is a one-of-its-kind weekly health show held every Sunday that has completed its informative, insightful and educative 10 episodes. And the awareness drive will be furthered in 2022 as well. During 10 episodes of the show, experts from across various spectra such as public health experts, specialists, experts and officials from government bodies have participated and educated the masses.

Dr Prof Joe Thomas, Professor of Public Health, and the National Course Convenor at the Institute of Health & Management in Rosanna, Victoria, Australia, said, “Omicron has the propensity to infect children. Indian government should increase the healthcare budget initially by 5 per cent and gradually increase it up to 15 per cent. Lockdown is not wise as it incurs an economic burden. It is prudent to follow vaccinations and other preventive measures strictly. As the schools in India have started opening, Indian children may not be infected but could be the carrier of the virus.”

“We work for healthcare improvements through various programmes to bring health impacts in society. Last year, we started COVID Fighters Public Health Safety Movement since the outbreak of COVID in India to bring education and awareness to the masses, which has completed its 500 days and ceaselessly going on. Over 200 healthcare experts have participated who are credible sources for health information,” said Dr Swadeep Srivastava, Founder HEAL Foundation & HEAL Health.

Dr Srivastava informed, “The show is also live on our following social media channels. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rSspzkrWBA8

    https://www.facebook.com/healfoundationindia/videos/4599687863386437.”

Dr Nimesh Gupta, Chief, Vaccine Immunology Laboratory, National Institute of Immunology, Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, said, “Booster vaccines enhance the quality of immunity. Persons invulnerable might fight Omicron with the current vaccines, but the elderly with compromised immunity won’t be able to combat the infection. Intranasal vaccines will be helpful to protect people from infection.”

Dr Anil Goyal, Honorary Finance Secretary, Indian Medical Association (Hqrs.), said, “Booster dose must be given to the frontline healthcare workforce. A booster dose is important for the susceptible population and healthcare workers. The frontline healthcare responders are exposed to various types of infection; hence booster dose is essential for them. The IMA has concluded a booster dose for the healthcare workers after consultation with several epidemiologists and virologists. In the new year, don’t forget to wear a mask and maintain social distancing to keep yourself protected from the infection.”

Dr Sanjai Kumar Rai, Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, AIIMS, New Delhi, President, IPHA said, “Vaccines bypass natural immunity. However, there might not be any severity if Omicron infection happens. The efficacy of existing vaccines is not as effective as it was against the virus that originated from Wuhan. Moreover, natural infection provides long-term protection against the virus. It is better to move towards normalcy with due precaution and care in the new year 2022, but no need to fear.”
