    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 10: Sanmit Infra Ltd – leading company engaged in construction of real estate projects, supply of petroleum products and biomedical waste management is planning to set up Bio CNG plant under Sustainable Alternative towards Affordable Transportation scheme (SATAT). The board of director at the meeting has approved the proposal and company expect to start work on the same soon. The project is part of multiple expansion in the business operations which company is planning over the next 2-3 years.

    The Board feels that, Bio CNG project will support to national commitments in achieving climate change goals and reduction in import of natural gas and crude oil and saving a lot of foreign exchange. It can also stand as a buffer against crude oil/gas price fluctuations in the international market making the country self-sufficient.

    Govt of India has launched SATAT scheme in the year 2018 with the objective of setting up Compressed Biogas production plants, and make it available for market its commercial use for automotive which will reduce the pollution level substantially. It aims to boost the entrepreneurship, rural economy and employment.

    In the next 2-3 years company is planning multiple expansion including Bitumen expansion, diversify sales in the biomedical waste disinfection system across Indian and planning to initiate an eco-friendly, less wood, or green cremation system (GMS) as a pilot project for various crematoriums in India.

    For Q2FY24, company reported net profit of Rs. 1.05 crore on total income of Rs. 18.91 crore and EBITDA of Rs. 1.97 crore. EBITDA margin in Q2FY24 increased to 10.4% from 4.3% in Q2FY23. For H1FY24 Company reported net profit of Rs. 1.57 crore on total income of Rs. 52.47 crore with EBITDA of Rs. 3.22 crore. Promoter Group holding as on September 2023 stands at 72.33%. During FY23, the company has split the shares with a face value of Rs.10 in the financial year 2023 into a face value of Rs.1. For FY23, company has reported sales of Rs. 140 crore with a Net Profit of Rs. 5 crore.

    Established in 1965, Sanmit Infra Ltd is engaged in the disposal of biomedical waste, the supply of petroleum products, and the construction of real estate projects. Company diversified into real estate in 1994 and successfully executed projects in Mumbai and other cities of Maharashtra with upcoming developments in Mahim, Karjat and Navi Mumbai. In petroleum, the company supplies products like bitumen, lubricants, light diesel, base oil.

    During the Covid pandemic, company ventured into dealing with microwave disinfection systems for hospital waste. Company has successfully piloted in various municipal and railway hospitals including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and is planning to expand biomedical waste disinfection system across India. Company’s microwave disinfection system utilizing dual technology, combining ultraviolet radiation to efficiently destroy bacteria and viruses present in biomedical waste.

    In the Bitumen segment, company plans to further expand and intend to initiate bulk storage facilities for direct Bitumen imports from Gulf countries. Company aim to purchase a minimum one-acre plot near JNPT Port, where Bitumen importation occurs. This move will facilitate the establishment of a decanting unit, allowing it to purchase Bitumen in drums and convert it into bulk Bitumen.

    The company is also planning to initiate an eco-friendly, less wood, or green cremation system (GMS) as a pilot project for various crematoriums in India. The GMS system upgrades the traditional open-air wood fire system, adhering to Hindu traditions. By replacing wood with “BAMBOO PELLETS,” which have high calorific value and generate minimal ash, pollution levels will significantly decrease. This eco-friendly approach saves trees, forests, and reduces carbon credits, making a positive impact on the environment and society.

    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 8: India plans to set up ‘Bharat Park’ in UAE where Indian goods show room and warehouses will come up. This will be to facilitate other countries of the world to buy Indian goods from ‘Bharat Park’ as the payment system is secured in UAE, stated Union Minister of Textiles & Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal. He was speaking as Chief Guest during Export Awards function of The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) on 4th January, 2024 held at Mumbai.

    He further stated the future belonged to Man Made Fibre Textiles (MMF).

    Shri Goyal informed while speaking on FTA (Free Trade Agreement) with  Japan, Australia, UAE, S. Korea etc. that the utilisation of FTA benefits are very poor in India is a matter of concern.

    Shri Piyush Goyal announced that BIS will spend Rs. 40 crore to set up 21 testing laboratories at various places in India.

    Shri Bhadresh Dodhia, Chairman – SRTEPC stated that man- made fibre textiles export in 2022-23 touched US$ 5.8 Billion as against US$ 6.8 Billion in 2021-22, registering a negative growth of  (-) 15.3%. Export of technical textiles touched US$ 2.5 Billion in 2022-23 as compared to US$ 2.8 Billion 2021-22, registering a negative growth of (-) 11.9%.

    Export of man -made fibre textiles during April to October 2023 have touched US$ 3.1 Billion as compared to US$ 3.4 Billion during the same period last year, registering a negative growth of 9.4%. Likewise export of technical textiles touched US$ 1.51 Billion during April to October 2023 as compared to US$ 1.5 Billion during the same period last year, registering a positive growth of 0.5%.

    Shri Bhadresh Dodhia further stated that ‘we are confident that export of man- made fibre textiles will cross US$ 6 Billion in 2023 – 24 and export of technical textile will cross above US$ 3 Billion’.

    SRTEPC will make its best efforts to increase the export of man- made fibre textiles to US$ 11 Billion and export of technical textiles to US $ 10 Billion by 2030, as per the targets given by the government.

    Manmade fibre textiles sector is facing the problem of inverted duty structure under GST. There is 18% GST on fibres, 12% on yarns and 5% on fabrics. This is leading to accumulated input tax credits with the manufacturers, which id adding to their cost. SRTEPC requests to cover the entire value chain of MMF Textiles products under same rate of GST.

    Shri Dodhia requested government to cover the entire value chain of textiles & clothing under the Interest Equalization Scheme.

    SRTEPC distributed 55 Export Awards for the Year 2022-23. Reliance Industries received 6 awards in various categories. Other award recipients included  Dodhia Synthetics Ltd., Banswara  Syntex Ltd., D’ Décor, Grasim, Vardhman Textiles, RSWM Ltd. etc. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Shri Rakesh Mehra, Women Entrepreneur Award was given to Ms. Neha Jhunjhunwala.

    The Award Function was graced by Smt. Roop Rashi, Textle Commissioner, Mr. Alexander –Poland Ambassador in Mumbai and Mr. Suresh Kotak.

    Surat (Gujarat) [India], January 8: Passion is the fuel behind a successful career and Vipul Jha, an exporter from Pune, and a member of Being Exporter, a leading platform for export assistance founded by Bhagirath Goswami, epitomises this dynamic energy.

    While running a successful makhana (fox nut) processing unit, Mr Jha sought a new challenge to fuel his passion and found his calling in the export business.

    “I was looking for a new opportunity to grow. I was hesitant about exports at first since I felt it was complicated, but I decided that this was an industry that would help me grow.     KP Group commits Rs. 17,690 crore investment for renewable energy, green hydrogen projects in Gujarat

    Surat (Gujarat) [India], January 6: KP Group, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, has signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat to invest Rs. 17,690 crores in the state. The investment is earmarked for different renewable energy projects   including setting up a green hydrogen plant.

    The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and senior ministers in Gandhinagar on Wednesday ahead of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, slated to take place from January 10 to 12.

    As per the first MoU, KP Group proposed to invest Rs. 16,690 crores for 2,675 MW wind, solar and hybrid power projects at multiple locations in the state. These projects are expected to create 13,000+ direct and indirect jobs. Additionally, KP Group also signed a second MoU, pledging investment of Rs. 1,000 crores for developing the group’s first green hydrogen plant. The plant is expected to become operational next year.

    Commenting on the development, Dr Faruk G Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said, “It is our privilege to sign MoUs for 2.6+ GW of solar, wind and hybrid power projects in Gujarat with the government of Gujarat. These MoUs mark a significant stride towards powering India’s green energy future by decarbonising the economy and reducing the country’s dependence on fossil fuel imports. These projects are scheduled to initiate operations from 2024 to 2026, solidifying KP Group’s prominent role as a frontrunner in the Indian renewable energy sector. Additionally, these ventures are poised to emerge as significant economic catalysts in the state, fostering the creation of thousands of new jobs.

    As part of the MoUs, KP Group company, KPI Green Energy, will establish a 250 MW solar park in Bharuch with an investment of Rs. 1,000 crores and a 200 MW solar park in Kutch with an investment of Rs. 800 crores.

    The group will invest Rs. 1,875 crores for a 250 MW wind park in Surendranagar and Bhavnagar and a further Rs. 5,500 crores for a 500 MW hybrid park in Bharuch, Bhavnagar and Kutch, 475 MW wind park in Kutch and Devbhumi Dwarka with an investment of Rs. 3,565 crores. KP Group will also allocate Rs. 1,700 crores for a 1,000 MW hybrid solar park in Kutch and a world-class fabrication plant with an investment of Rs. 2,250 crores in Bharuch.

    The new agreements mark a renewed commitment to sustainable development and build on KP Group’s continued success from the earlier Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit editions. Notably, KP group has entered into MOU’s and successfully completed various projects including Solar Parks in Bharuch district.

    The recently signed MoUs closely follow the financial strides of KPI Green Energy, (market capitalization of Rs. 5,998+ crores as of January 1, 2024) which recently raised Rs. 300 crores through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), issuing shares to Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs). With an impressive order book exceeding 750 MW, KPI Green Energy targets the ambitious goal of reaching 1 gigawatt by 2025. In parallel, KP Group is ambitiously marching towards achieving 10 gigawatts by 2030. Notably, KP Group’s second listed entity, KP Energy, holds a market cap of Rs. 1,724 crores as of January 4, 2024.
