LANXESS Performance Materials showcased impressive range of high performance plastics at PLASTINDIA 2023

New Delhi (India), February 17: LANXESS Performance Materials, a leading global joint venture established between LANXESS and Advent International for high-performance engineering polymers presented a range of modern and lightweight solutions with high-performance plastics for the automotive, two-wheeler and e-mobility industry at PLASTINDIA 2023 from 1st to 5th February. The company also exhibited select applications of high-performance plastics in the electronics and electrical industry.

Polyamides and polybutylene terephthalates, reinforced with a glass fiber content of up to 60 percent, are ideal for applications in lightweight construction, which can be attributed to their strength and stiffness. They form a lightweight and economical alternative to sheet molding compounds (SMC) and other reinforced thermosets, as well as to metals like steel, aluminum and die-cast zinc. LANXESS Performance Materials, therefore, has been regularly adding new variations to its already wide range of injection molding materials in this segment.

At PLASTINDIA 2023, LANXESS exhibited lightweight and sustainable solutions for automobiles such as front-end module structures, air intake hoses, engine covers, brake pedals, spare wheel recesses, oil modules and other parts frequently used by automobile manufacturers. The company is one of the largest suppliers of high-performance materials in the field of engineering plastics (Durethan®, Pocan®) both in India and globally. A breakthrough this year, is the application of these materials in both injection molded and blow molded designs in different parts of two-wheelers, for example – blow molded single layer polyamide fuel tanks. This is the first-of-its-kind application, in which specifically developed Durethan® BC550Z is being used to manufacture the fuel tank of two-wheelers matching the stringent norms laid down by the Environmental Protection Agency, USA.

“India is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing passenger car markets and second largest two-wheeler market in the world. This makes us optimistic about the prospects of our high-performance plastics in India and a large platform like PLASTINDIA will only validate the potential. Various new applications are being continuously tested and tried by all large auto manufacturers and this year, the two-wheeler industry holds promise too. The compounding facility for Durethan® and Pocan® in Jhagadia, Gujarat is able to address the needs of not just the Indian market but also customers overseas”, said Milan Vignjevic, Director – Sales and Marketing, LANXESS Performance Materials – APAC region.

Commenting on the Indian market, Pankaj Khare, Business Head – of LANXESS Performance Materials India Private Limited said, “With the support of the government, electric vehicles have started penetrating in the Indian market. • Royal Cosmognathics Pioneers Cutting-Edge Mouth Cancer Treatment with CBCT Technology

Royal Cosmognathics Pioneers Cutting-Edge Mouth Cancer Treatment with CBCT Technology

Dr. Chirag Chamria, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

New Delhi (India), February 17: Royal Cosmognathics is revolutionizing the treatment of mouth cancer with its innovative solutions. Led by Dr. Chirag Chamria, the team uses cone beam computerized technology (CBCT) to carry out 3D scans of the cancer-treated jaw and surrounding structures for accurate surgical planning. The Institute is addressing a growing concern in India, where 30% of all cancers in the country are from the head and neck region, largely due to the widespread use of tobacco, betel nut, and paan, as well as smoking and alcohol abuse.

Oral cancer can be successfully treated in its early stages, but the patient’s quality of life can be affected due to jaw removal. The Institute’s precise treatment planning and advanced technologies, such as surgical guides, stents, and the PEEK Framework, are helping to restore the lost jaw and complete mouth restoration. In cases of recurrent oral cancer, the institute’s team uses a special workaround.

Dr. Chamria explains the benefits of CBCT technology in his YouTube video, mentioning that oral cancers are very curable in the first and second stages, and the precise technology not only benefits dental implants but also completes mouth restoration. The use of tobacco has severe consequences for oral health, causing mouth cancer, with cigarette smoking causing the deadliest form of oral cancer, squamous cell carcinoma. The aim is not to ‘Fight Cancer’; Rather ‘Reconstruct what is lost’ ~ Dr. Chirag Chamria Rehabilitation after oral cancer surgery is crucial to restoring facial aesthetics, lip function, clarity of speech, a stable dentition, and the ability to swallow. Craniofacial prostheses can also be used to restore tissue loss and improve the patient’s quality of life. Staying hydrated, eating a healthy diet, and communicating with healthcare providers can help manage any difficulties after surgery.

Quality of life after oral cancer

The taste and feel of food after oral cancer surgery is unique. Understanding what to expect, learning about the different types of surgery, and knowing what you are likely to experience As a result, it can help ensure you’re prepared for that first bite. You may be able to eat some foods as early as day one. However, if your surgery involves removing a large portion of the inside of your mouth or tongue, eating may be difficult for some time. If you’ve had radiation treatment, it can take even longer for your sense of taste to return. Understanding what to expect will help make those first few days post-surgery much more manageable.

What happens to taste after oral cancer surgery?

Oral cancer surgery can do a number of things to the taste and texture of food in the mouth. It may make food taste metallic, like metal or blood, or it may make food not taste like anything at all. In some cases, the tongue is removed completely, and there is no sensation for more than two months. It is a partial myth that taste sensations are only located on the tongue. Research shows that the tongue contains the majority of the taste buds. However, about 10% of taste buds are also found along the mouth. In cases of injury or damage to the tongue, these other taste buds become active. This may provide a more realistic taste. Taste changes after oral cancer Food may taste different than before, especially bitter, sweet, and salty foods. Some foods may taste bland, and some may feel the same. You may experience a metallic or chemical taste in your mouth, particularly after eating meat or other protein-containing foods.

How long does it take to feel normal?

Different people experience different levels of difficulty after surgery. In some cases, your mouth may be numbed or you may not be able to taste food. Other times, you may experience difficulty swallowing. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for the taste and feel of food to return completely to normal. The most important thing is to start slowly and not expect too much, or too soon. It’s also important that you continue making healthy food choices during this time period. Make sure that you are getting enough protein and other nutritional foods in order to maintain your weight and health while recovering.

The rehabilitation after oral cancer includes:

Restoration of the dental and facial aesthetics in inpatient

Retaining or restoring lip function and clarity of speech

Restoring stable dentition and the ability to swallow

In conclusion, The Royal Cosmognathic Institute is leading the way in mouth cancer treatment with its innovative solutions and precise technology. The institute is helping to restore the quality of life for patients affected by oral cancer.

  • GPP ONE – An eco-luxurious Nature Villa community with lifetime access to free electricity and water

GPP ONE – An eco-luxurious Nature Villa community with lifetime access to free electricity and water

GPP ONE – An eco-luxurious Nature Villa community

New Delhi (India), February 17: Green Panther Properties is setting an unparalleled example by promising the GPP ONE resident access to free water and electricity for life, thanks to sustainable planning involving renewable energy sources.

Nature is mankind’s greatest ally. It supports us in every breath we take, every morsel we consume, and every comfort we cherish. But lately, we’ve been asking far too much and giving back too little.

The irrational depletion of natural resources has only increased the cost of electricity and water, not just for us humans but also for nature.

And the data only amplifies how unsustainable our current state of living is.

    • 80% of the total energy supply comes from fossil fuels, 4x the share of renewable energy sources (SOURCE: World Energy Outlook Report 2022, IEA)
    • Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide levels reached 414.72 parts per million in 2021, setting a new record high (SOURCE: NOAA Global Monitoring Lab)

But energy isn’t something that you or I can simply stop consuming. What we can do is be judicious in how we produce and use that energy.

With GPP ONE, Green Panther Properties is mapping out a sustainable way for humans to harness nature’s priceless resources.

GPP ONE aims to eliminate the cost of energy for both humans and the environment by fostering a self-reliant ecosystem.

“The idea is to do away with the concept of paid energy. Our long-time reliance on perishable energy sources has not only continued to burn a hole in our pockets but also set the environment on fire. It’s high time mankind shifted to renewable sources for its energy needs”, explained Mr. Amit Rao, the founder of Green Panther Properties.

GPP ONE is set to become the first-ever villa project in Gujarat to be 100% powered by solar energy supported by a robust infrastructure that will collectively harvest up to 350 KW to power the entire project and each villa individually.

To further contribute towards a greener lifestyle, instead of individual water pumps to extract water, the project implements one common borewell powered by solar energy at the project level. This water will be stored and supplied via a 24-meter-tall overhead tank through gravity, thereby reducing the dependency on electricity. This will ensure that each villa gets a sufficient water supply without paying for it, monetarily or environmentally.

But the team didn’t just stop their sustainability efforts there. To replenish and maintain the groundwater reserves, they’re also digging a dozen percolation wells, enabling water harvesting at a much larger scale.

In a time when sustainable living is on the list of necessities, Green Panther Properties have stepped up to make it possible and accessible.

GPP ONE – An Authentic Farmhouse Experience

The founding principles of Green Panther Properties are sustainability and coexistence. And their first residential villa project is a concrete manifestation of their ideologies.

GPP ONE is a one-of-its-kind luxury villa project near Ahmedabad that brings you closer to nature while simultaneously catering to your comforts. The project boasts all the luxury amenities of a villa combined with the rawness of wilderness, thus ensuring an authentic farmhouse experience.

One of the flagship experiences at GPP ONE is the option for residents to grow their own food. One can opt in for a specialized Poly-net house that allows them to grow a variety of organic vegetables and fruits.

Mr. Amit Rao added, “Our goal is to drastically reduce the impact of human activity on the environment on all fronts. GPP ONE will be a self-reliant life zone, nurturing a collective community of humans, flora, and fauna in one habitat.”

    Coexistence is the Key

GPP ONE strives to go above and beyond the standard industry norms to set a new benchmark for sustainable residential projects. In addition to providing clean and free energy, the project strictly adheres to a green-to-grey ratio of 9:1.

Interestingly, this eco-luxury villa project near Ahmedabad doesn’t compromise on the luxury quotient either. GPP ONE, and all the nature villas within, are loaded with elite lifestyle amenities for an eco-friendly yet comfortable stay. While each ‘House of Life’ can be customized to cater to the personal needs of its dweller, the project itself hosts a plethora of communal amenities like a Clubhouse, Swimming Pool, Tunnel Gallery, and a Multi-sports Court, among others.

The Future Needs to Look, Green

“We’ve gotten used to calling Earth ‘our’ home, overlooking the needs of fellow beings that also inhabit it. Our mindless indulgencies have pushed Mother Nature and her offspring to the brink of extinction. If we don’t take concrete steps right now, we might lose the only home we have.”

  • Freedom from Diabetes (FFD) completes 10 glorious years

Freedom from Diabetes (FFD) completes 10 glorious years

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], February 16: “We consider health and happiness as twin goals of our life. Many of us believe that if we are healthy, we are happy, but we fail to realise that if we are happy, we automatically become healthy.  Happiness generates health, and true happiness comes when we forget our pains and help others and become helpers of humanity”, said Krishna Kumari Thadani, Chairperson of Sadhu Vaswani Mission. She was speaking at a special function organised by Freedom From Diabetes ( FFD) to mark ten years of its existence.

While referring to the four secrets of well-being, she said mindfulness which can energize our mind, the attitude of gratitude, which is the biggest immunity booster, and understanding the power of breathing and helping humanity can lead us to happiness. Life is meant to be a journey of happiness, but we turn it into a race.  If we see good, life will take a different turn. She advocated at least 15 minutes of personal quiet time (PQT) through silence and meditation.

She added that humanity needs healing. Dr. Tripathi is a healer. We have got so much from God and life, and we must be grateful. Grateful hearts heal faster. More than 110 Past participants who have been free from diabetic medication/ insulin and have motivated numerous others were felicitated along with FFDians for their contribution for the past 10 years to make a vision of diabetes remission a reality.

Founded by Dr.Pramod Tripathi, FFD is creating awareness and educating people about diabetes along with healing programs. The FFD initiative is based on a holistic transformation program with three fundamental pillars: education, support and inspiration. The initiative also includes various programs, including the regular ‘Discover Reversal Sessions’ and the annual Muktotsav, which celebrates and felicitates those diabetics who follow the FFD program with discipline, have passed GTT ( Glucose Tolerance Test ) or IGT ( Impaired Glucose Tolerance Test ). The FFD initiative now also includes a freedom from obesity program, 87 member clubs in 14 countries,

Dr. Pramod Tripathi said that FFD had helped more than 13500 type 2 diabetics get rid of their dependency on insulin or medicines. Although awareness of diabetes is increasing among the people at large, more than half of them remain undiagnosed, increasing the risk of future complications. With our awareness and FFD programs, we aim to help 100,000 diabetics get rid of their dependency on insulin or medicines by 2030.
