Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 1: The Documentary Battle of Swaraj by filmmaker Sujoy Mukherjee has been making waves on the internet lately. The film won the Honourable Jury Award at Mumbai Shorts International Film Fest for Best Documentary film. Battle Of Swaraj is based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It shows what a brave warrior can do with his Gorilla War Tactics and his brave men to win freedom for the people from the cruel emperors. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the son of Shahji Raje  Bhosale who was Sardar in King Adil Shah’s Darbar. From having a small jagir of Pune to having more than 300 forces under his control, how he spread his empire to Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh during his lifetime is what makes the crux of Battle of Swaraj documentary.

Sujoy has covered historic forts Shivneri, Torna, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Panhala, Pawan Khind, Vishalgad, Purandar, Sinhgad, and Raigad.

The aim of making this documentary was to make people aware of this part of the glorious Indian history, and in the Documentary film, you can see these forts.

Talking about making the documentary, the director said, “The journey of making this documentary film, Battle Of Swaraj, was amazing and challenging. It would not have been possible without my crew or team of the film. Climbing the fort looked challenging as it was, and climbing with cameras and heavy equipment looked impossible, but we achieved it. The most difficult task was to climb the steep Rajgad Fort, but with the blessings of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we were able to climb the fort within 3 hours.

In the recent past, Sujoy Mukherjee made a grand announcement of his directorial debut, “Kalpvriksh”, at the ancestral Filmalaya Studio in collaboration with Royal Cinemas, which revolves around the sufferings of parents vis a vis their over-ambitious and selfish children. The basic idea of the story was given by Anandji bhai of Kalyanji Anandji fame; the story, screenplay & dialogues are by Sunil, Sudhir and Sujoy Mukherjee.

Startup team Stag Warriors wins TSPL Season 1

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], February 1: The first edition of TiE Startup Premier League (TSPL), a first of its kind initiative to create a lasting bond and collaboration opportunities between startups and large businesses, was organised by the global entrepreneurship network TiE Rajasthan in Jaipur on 28-29 January.

TSPL saw an early traction with a very successful Team Auction program held last month where startups made pitch about their business as well as cricketing skills to attract big businesses of TiE Charter Members to bid upon and buy these startup cricket teams.

Dr. Ravi Modani, President, TiE Rajasthan said that teams work in tandem to achieve goals, targets, mission and what better way than sports to align them into this. This was evident, when the players put all their sweat and energies, both mental and physical to make sure that there team wins, which is like preserving the honour of their company.

He further added that since the auction program, besides practicing together for the TSPL box cricket league, the startups and their team owners did multiple meetings off the cricket ground and discussed business synergies. We have started seeing some early results as well. Two startups have offered their team owners equity against business mentoring. On the other hand, one of the participating startup linked performance appraisal for it’s team members with their performance in TSPL, he said.

Ravi Goenka, Convener of the event said that the response to TSPL has been amazing. Not only the founders and large business but even the employees of different companies are exchanging ideas and learnings of their business domains. TiE Rajasthan is considering taking TSPL to the next level and making it an annual activity. TSPL aimed for much more than cricket and we are happy that we could provide these startups with opportunities to network with large businesses, mentors and investors, he added.

Team Stag Warrior emerged as winners of TSPL Season 1 defeating team Tinkerly Meta Tuskers in the finals played on 29 January. Piyush Yadav of Freshokartz- The Dominators won the trophy of Player of the Series. Arushi Baid of Tradeswift Tigers won the Best Female Player of the Series award.

San José, February 1: In the history of Indian Cinema, it is the first time an Indo-Costa Rican International film project has been announced, City of lights Productions PVT ltd (India) & Seamless Productions LLP in association with Pacific Investment Corporation (Costa Rica, Panama, Latin America) comes together for a Costa Rican National Interest Film.

This adrenal-pumping action film will be based on a real-life event that took place in Monteverde (Costa Rica) as described in the novel “A MANO ARMADA” by Huanelge Gutierrez.

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], January 31: Pan-India operations, larger employment opportunities, futuristic leadership, and a one-stop super app on the horizon

AutoTech startup, ReadyAssist, has announced its acquisition of India’s largest multi-brand two-wheeler workshop chain, SpeedForce, for $10Mn in a Cash plus stock deal.

Based in Vadodara, SpeedForce is the largest chain of 2W multi-brand workshops in the country with more than 300 workshops set up and operated by the brand in the last 3 years. With this acquisition, ReadyAssist will become India’s largest chain of multi-brand 2W workshops and also add strength to its existing network of 8000+ RSA mechanics across the country.

Apart from that, Speedforce’s existing network is expected to accelerate ReadyAssist’s growth plans for Roadside assistance and workshop network, giving them a vantage position in the market. The partnership is expected to facilitate ReadyAssist in realizing its goal of becoming a one-stop solution for all automobile needs through its Super App, which is expected to be available in the Play store and App Store in the next couple of months.

ReadyAssist also plans to strengthen its chain of SpeedForce workshops by adding another 700 2W workshops and 72 4W workshops this year and taking the chain to a total of 1000 workshops by the end of March 2024. This would be an extension to ReadyAssist’s already existing partner workshops.

Currently, the workshop chain employs 900+ mechanics servicing 3000 customers a day on average; and with 1000 workshops by this year is expected to employ at least 3500 mechanics and service 10000+ customers a day. All new workshops will include a dedicated work bay for the EV vehicle serving and over the next few months, the existing workshops will also be equipped with EV servicing capabilities. The workforce would be specially sourced and trained under ReadyAssist’s flagship training program, MECADEMY, designed for real-time reskilling and upskilling of enrolled mechanics.

Talking about this the founder and CEO of ReadyAssist, Vimal Singh SV said “ReadyAssist is very successful in operating a PAN India roadside assistance and doorstep service to our 800,000 subscribed customers. This acquisition will help us extend the reach to our customers in their need for general periodic services and major repairs for both ICE and EV vehicles. Starting with 300 workshops, the idea is to scale 1000+ works in the next year including 4W multi-brand workshops.

Youth Nation organises the event to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs.

Surat (Gujarat) [India], January 31: Youth Nation, an organisation working for the last nine years to create awareness about the disastrous effects of drugs, organised a unique carnival on the occasion of Republic Day with the message – Say No To Drugs. The city police as well as several other organisations also joined the cause.

Sharing details about the event, Veekas Champalal Doshi, Founder of Youth Nation, said, “We are working to free the society, especially youths, from the deadly grip of drugs. Each year on Republic Day, we organise unique events with our message of saying no to drugs. This year we organised the carnival which had multiple activities with the core message of preventing people from falling prey to drugs.”

The 1.5 km carnival was organised by Prime Shopper on Udhna Magdalla Road to the Y Junction from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Drawings with the message ‘Say No To Drugs’ were also painted as a part of the carnival. A biker group from Vapi performed some daredevil stunts to stress the importance of safety. The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Surat police set up a stall at the carnival to spread awareness about the harmful impact of drug addiction. Surat traffic police also had a stall to make people aware of the importance of following traffic rules.

The carnival also had two stalls for free health checkups, while the De-addiction Centre also had a stall. The underlying message of all activities at the carnival was ‘Say no to drugs, yes to life’.

Union minister Darshanaben Jardosh, Mayor Hemali Boghawala, Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Tomar, SMC Standing Committee chairman Paresh Patel, Nirav Shah, Shri kunj Bihari Sultaniya besides the owners of Rungta Builders Anil Rungta, Kailash Hakim of Hemani Sari and Surana Builders graced the carnival.

The carnival also witnessed stunning live performances by the Udan band of Bhagirath Goswami, Anees Yog Garba, students of Kathak dancer Kakoli Chatterjee, Mayank Kapadia’s Echoestick Band, students of Blind Yoga’s Falguni Godiwala, Shivani Yoga, Ankita Yoga, students of Scholar High School, dynamic warrior students, Hemali Panwala, Kamlesh Masalawala,. As many as ten plus stages were prepared in the carnival for the live performances. Magic shows, streetwalkers and tattoo artists also kept the visitors thoroughly entertained.
