    Mumbai, November 15, 2022: SVP Global Textiles Ltd, one of the largest compact cotton yarn manufacturer and leading multinational textiles company has reported Total Income from Operations of Rs. 294.1 crore for the quarter ended September 2022, rise of 4.9% Q-o-Q from Rs. 280.5 crore reported in the quarter ended June 2022. EBITDA for Q2FY23 was reported at Rs.38.75 crore – higher by 74.4% Q-o-Q from Rs. 22.2 crore reported for Q1FY23. The company has improved on operational margins and reduced the loss from Rs. 37.15 Crore in Q1FY22 to 20.35 crore in Q2FY23 in spite of continued rising prices of raw cotton. 

    Maj Gen OP Gulia, SM, VSM (retd), CEO, SVP Global Textiles Ltd said, “The raw material (cotton) prices continued to remain at higher levels in Q2FY23 which kept the textile industry under stress. However we have been able to reduce our losses by improving on operational and financial efficiencies along with some softening in cotton prices. The next quarter is looking very promising due to improved demand of apparel and cotton prices declining from a peak of Rs. 115,000 per candy to approximately Rs. 70,000 per candy now. The company is in process of analysing various restructuring options available with the company including sale of assets of subsidiaries which shall be used for reducing of debt.”

    For the six months ended September 2022, company posted total Income from operations of Rs.574.58 crore and EBITDA of Rs.60.97 crore. The company is in process of restructuring the business and disposal of non-core assets. The Company has a vision to be a fully integrated textile company from Fibre-to-Fashion with forward integration into Fabric, Technical Textiles and Garments. The company has got the approval to set up a Technical textile facility at Jhalawar under Ministry of Textile PLI scheme.

    Business Update

    • RSTL has initiated a massive capacity expansion of additional 30,000 MT at Khopoli Plant, Maharashtra. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of2nd Quarter of FY23 and commercial production is expected to begin in 3rd quarter of FY23. Rama Steel Tubes Industries Limited (stepdown subsidiary of RSTL) has commenced the setting up of a new facility in Nigeria, South Africa having an installed capacity of 20,000 MT. The total capital outlay for this expansion will be Rs.200 MN and will be funded through the internal accruals. The new facility is expected to be fully functional in 3rd quarter of FY23.
    • On 14th February, 2022, The Board of directors have approved a scheme of Amalgamation of Lepakshi Tubes Private Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of RSTL with the latter.This merger has been proposed to bring about operational synergies and cost savings to both the companies.
    • During the period under review the following transaction were held in the Company:
    1. Sub-division of Equity Shares of the Company from FV 5 each to FV 1 each w.e.f 25th August, 2022.
    2. A.) Acquisition of 51% stake in M/s Ashoka Infrasteel, a partnership firm from its partners by allotment of fresh Equity Shares 3455135 (After Sub Division) of FV 1 each at a price of Rs. 78 (including premium) against 49% on a preferential basis on 31st August, 2022 and for remaining 2% company has made cash consideration. As a result M/s Ashoka Infrasteel, a partnership firm has become the subsidiary of Rama Steel Tubes Limited, thus financials of M/s Ashoka Infrasteel for the period from September 01, 2022 till September 30, 2022 have been considered in the consolidated financials considering minority interest (Non-controlling Interest).

    B.) Acquisition of 50% shareholdings in M/s Hagar Mega Mart Private Limited by allotment of fresh Equity Shares of 641030 (After Sub-Division) of FV 1 each at a price of Rs. 78 each (including premium) on a preferential basis on 31st August, 2022. As a result, M/s Hagar Mega Mart Private Ltd. has become the associate of Rama Steel Tubes Limited, thus our share in Net Profit /(Loss) including OCI of Associate for the period September 01, 2022 till September 30, 2022 have been considered in the consolidated financials.

    1. Allotment of 31,65,000 Equity Shares on 23rd September, 2022 in lieu of Convertible Warrants allotted on preferential basis to promoter and non-promoter group on 10th June, 2022.

    Commenting on performance:

    “We have reported a strong H1 FY23 with the growth in Revenue from operations being 75.37% and growth in sales volume of 68.33% on Y-o-Y basis. There is growth in demand of our products having the highest level of quality and our ability to cater the needs of all our customers on timely basis.

    The announcement of huge government projects like UPPCL, Jal Shakti Abhyaan in the infrastructure sector & various public sector projects has boosted demand for our products significantly. We are also in process of entering into certain niche segments like supply of steel pipes and tubes to City Gas Distribution and Solar Energy power generation units. We plan to dedicate at-least 25% of our production capacity 300000 MT to cater to the demand of the Government sector in the coming years, which is having an EBITA margin of 9%-10%, thereby significantly improving our overall margins. From the facility, in the process of being set up, in Nigeria, we have already signed purchase agreement of 15,000 MT p.a. for supply of specialty steel from Huihai Group Ltd, Hong Kong. The potential market size for Specialty Steel in Nigeria is ~50,000 MTPA and we are happy to cater almost 1/3rd of the total market size.

    On the expansion front, we are in process of modernization of our plant located at Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh with a major goal of de-bottlenecking operations; which will result in increasing our yield per tonne of finished products. The 1st phase of this modernization is expected to be completed by Q3 of the Fiscal Year 2023. Our efforts of backward integration at our plant in Anantpur District, Andhra Pradesh wherein we are in process of Cold rolling and Galvanizing Steel Sheets will lead to an in-house raw material support of 50,000 MT in the upcoming years. With the expansion of Khopoli plant by ~30,000 MT and the setting up of facility in Nigeria by our stepdown subsidiary, we expect our total capacity to increase to 300000 MT by end of FY23. Further to this, we are in process of adding 10 SKUs to our repertoire on a monthly basis, projecting a total of 700 SKUs being produced in period of 2 years. This will strengthen our relationships with distributors by offering a complete range of products and make RSTL one of the leading suppliers of Steel Pipes and Tubes in the forthcoming years.

    Moreover, our recent efforts at backward integration are expected to reduce dependency on external raw material suppliers. Further, even in such a difficult market, we were able to procure large orders and expect to procure more of such orders.”

    Australia emerges winner in Indo-Australian Boomerang Championship

    Noida (India), November 15: The first international boomerang championship in the country involving foreign players was organised in Noida, which saw the Australian team emerging as the winner. The national championships were also organised alongside the international event.

    Vivek Montrose, Founder of the Indo-Boomerang Association (IBA), told that Boomerang has not yet received much importance as a sport in India so far, but it is a unique sport in itself. Originating in Australia, boomerang is now played in nearly 40 countries.

    Dr. Kartik Raja, Sambhaw Singh Shyam, Balasubramanium, Yash Shula, Vikas Singh, and Vinodini R represented India in the Indo-Australian Boomerang Championship that was organised a the CK Oval Ground in Noida.

    The Australian team, comprising Roger Perry, Takeshi Honda, Rob Croll, Chrissy Metzakis, Matthew barker, and Grant Perry, emerged as the winner of the championship and was awarded trophies and certificates for its efforts.

    A third international competition was also organised alongside the above competition. Nearly 45 players from Bihar, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and other states participated in the competition and displayed their unique skills in boomerang.

    Vivek Montrose, said that Ken Colbung, who belongs to the Australian aboriginal community and was a boomerang sports expert, attracted the attention of people towards the sport during his India visit. It was after coming in contact with him that Mr. Montrose became interested in the sport. He was fascinated by the boomerang, a rare object that comes back when thrown. He learnt the

    In earlier times, a boomerang was mainly used as a weapon, but it now comes in different types and there are many different ways of throwing a boomerang. Mr. Montrose learnt the game and earned the distinction of being the first Indian boomerang player. It was his efforts that led to the formation of the Indo-Boomerang Association. He was awarded an international award in the year 2020 for his efforts to promote boomerang.

    Under his leadership, the association has provided training in boomerang to persons in several states and cities. The work to train and guide new talent is continuing as the association works on plans to ensure that India emerges as a powerhouse in boomerang. As a result of its efforts, Indian boomerang players also took part in the World Boomerang Championships held in France in August this year.

     Mumbai, November 15:  On 13th November, ZEEL along with its partner GiveIndia, felicitated the top 30 winners of their ongoing child prodigy scholarship program in Mumbai. It was an evening of celebrating Indian art forms and stories of these talented winners who will be getting support to continue their talent through scholarship and mentorship program.

    The seed that was planted to bring about change was nurtured and has now germinated into a strong tree. The Top 30 Born to Shine prodigies who were honored at the event are:

    New Delhi (India), November 15: In just a few weeks since opening registrations, the prestigious Matific Math League 2022 — deemed among the biggest online math competitions for primary school students (KG-6 grade) in India — is experiencing fast momentum in the interest shown by top schools across different states. It has received registrations from 500+ schools for its upcoming edition between November 23 and December 6, 2022.
