    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 19: The Player Hunt, India’s first poker reality show announced the winners of its Season 2. Samay Singh Modi from Mumbai was announced as the Winner followed by Zarvan Tumboli from Mumbai followed by Himanshu Chhikara from Haryana. The Underdog Award went to Avanie Joshi from Delhi.

    Season 2 of The Player Hunt had conducted the auditions across the country. Out of thousands of entries, there were 16 finalists who were chosen to be part of India’s biggest and the only poker reality show hosted by brothers Rannvijay Singha and Harman Singha.

    The winner Samay Singh Modi (age 27), a resident of Mumbai and an actor by profession was eliminated on day one but won a lifeline given by host Rannvijay after hearing the story of the impact of poker on his life and went on to win the show with his poker and extracurricular skills.

    Speaking on winning season 2, Samay shared, “I have been playing poker from a young age and it has helped me to fulfil needs at important stages of my life. This win is very special to me and I am grateful to Player Hunt for giving us this platform.”

    The 2nd position was secured by Zarvan Tumboli (age 30), a Mumbai resident & a passionate Professional Poker Player for the last six years. On the last day, with a high intensity challenge, he took well calculated decisions and secured his second position.

    The third position went to Himanshu Chhikara from Haryana is a management consultant and a recreational poker player. In Season 2, with a persistent and calm approach he stayed in the top few positions through many rounds to secure his 3rd position.

    The Underdog Award went to Avanie Joshi, (one of the 3 female participants) from Delhi. An Artist, Singer, Composer, Lyricist, DJ, Actor and a Poker player. Her performance in the game post the eliminations went up. By the 4th round of challenges, Avanie was leading the pack, and only fell a little behind in the final few rounds.

    New Delhi (India), October 19: Vikas Lifecare Limited has announced its collaboration with three world class institutions to share the research inputs and work on developing various viable materials like cellulose, lignin and silica from rice husk.

    In this agro-circle project, the New Delhi based company has shook hands with Indian Institute of Technology (BHU)-Varanasi and Sweden’s Stockholm University.

    Other than this, the company has also partnered with renowned Swedish companies namely- Lignflow Technologies AB and Lixea Computer for the same purpose.

    The main aim of the Agro-Circle Project is to establish innovative value chain concepts for production of circular materials from agro-industrial side-streams, the company said in a media release filed on exchanges.

    “In addition to avoiding pollution arising from burning of crop residues directly on the fields, which is the biggest cause of poor air quality in northern part of India in winter season, this project will aim developing techniques to produce new bio-based materials from the natural polymers extracted from these farm waste materials,” it added.

    Sweden based Lixea Compular aims at establishing the production process for cellulose from agricultural rice residue using Lixea’s Dendritic Process.

    On the other hand, Lignflow Technologies, AB along with IIT (BHU)-Varanasi aims to patronize the production of lignin. Vikas Lifecare shall act as instrumental in developing a technology to produce nano silica from rice husk.

    Stockholm University & Indian Institute of Technology (BHU)-Varanasi will contribute via characterization of lignocellulose fractions. In addition, IIT-Varanasi, Stockholm University and Bio-Nano will design new bio-based functionalized cellulosic fibres.

    Commenting on the development, Managing Director of Vikas Lifecare and an eminent Scientist Dr. SK Dhawan said, “The objective of this collaboration is to develop a circular economy is to achieve sustainability through production, recovery, reuse and sending back the product to its original form at the end of life, resulting in zero or negligible waste”.

    He further added “the human population will exceed 9 billion in about 20 years, and the Indian population alone is 1.4 billion today. At the same time, climate change continues to cause serious threats to the communities around the world leading the human race into an urgent need for expanding agricultural production. There will be an increasing generation of agricultural by-products such as rice straw and husks, which are renewable, abundantly available and sustainable.”

    Vikas Lifecare’s R&D team successfully achieved proof of concept while they established promising results for making Nano silica from rice husk for niche applications including making Silicon for blending with graphene as an electrode material and for making pallets with plastics.

    The company is expecting a significant contribution to the commercial numbers put up by Vikas Lifecare from this ‘Agro Cycle Project.’
