    Strong Planning and Customer Support Leads to 27% Market Share

    Solid Business Position Continues into 2021

     November 17: Kingston Technology, a world leader in memory products and technology solutions,, today announced TrendForce has named it as the number one supplier of SSDs in the channel for all of 2020. According to TrendForce, Kingston accounted for a whopping 27 per cent of the 111.5 million units shipped in 2020.

    With the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020, TrendForce reported a 15% YoY decrease in annual SSD shipments to the channel and severe delays in manufacturing and logistics, resulting in a sudden decline in order volumes. Yet, findings show through Kingston’s global strategy for sourcing components; the company was well ahead of its competitors, considering a global pandemic and looming chip shortage. The results reinforced Kingston as the clear leader in SSD production, as the second-place supplier accounted for only 8 per cent of the total channel market. As a category, third-party suppliers (non-semiconductor) SSD makers accounted for65% of the total shipments in 2020.

    For the quarter ended 30 September 2021, the Company recorded a stellar increase in revenue, which rose 87%, from Rs. 7337.39 Lakhs (Q2FY21) to Rs. 13714.03 Lakhs (Q2FY22). PAT jumped 162% from Rs. 229.39 Lakhs (Q2FY21) to Rs. 601.45 Lakhs (Q2FY22).

    For H1FY22, the Company recorded massive improvement YoY as business recovered leaps and bounds from H1FY21, which was plagued by lockdowns owing to Covid-19. The revenue rose 99% to Rs. 24862.84 Lakhs (H1FY22). PAT doubled to Rs. 898.83 Lakhs (H1FY22) from Rs.448.31 Lakhs (H1FY21). Another notable improvement was in Basic EPS, which also doubled.

    The Company recently informed that it had incorporated a Wholly Owned Subsidiary Company, viz LANCIA SHIPPING L.L.C in Emirate of Dubai. Abdul Khalik Chataiwala is the Promoter of Lancer Container lines Limited holds the position of Manager in LANCIA SHIPPING L.L.C.

    According to the regulatory filing, the entity’s objective is Sea Shipping Lines Agent, NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, which shall include carrying on all activities as are related or ancillary thereto upon approval of the Department of Economic Development.
