    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 17:  When the Lions’ Den, an upcoming reality show, was conceptualising, the key question they had to answer was, ” What problem are we trying to solve? “The answer to this question would define the design of the show, the method of evaluating start-ups, and most importantly, the Lions they would partner with, who will define the success of the entire effort in the mid-to-long-term. 

    India is a growing hub of start-ups. Startups have become a choice of significant proportions of the younger India, whether starting a start-up or working at a start-up. However, only 2 percent of start-ups survive, and less than 0.2 percent scale up.

    Hence, the key was to shortlist the Lions—lions who would not only invest in the start-ups but also ensure they survive and scale up.

    The story of Dipak’s life, where he got into the business at the young age of 24 due to the untimely death of his father, in a company doing 8 crore turnovers to building it to almost 500 crore business in Food FMCG is an inspiring one.

    ‘Success gives you confidence, but failures give you growth’ —- Dipak’s leadership style is strongly shaped by the various failures he encountered in his journey. He believes that for a business, it is very important to have clarity of what not to do, almost as important as what is to be done.

    Dipak, along with his team, grew his business by almost 50 percent CAGR for the first 8 years, then dropped to 8 percent CAGR for the next 8, and is now back at 24 percent CAGR.

    ‘What gets you here will not take you there’—One of the key lessons that Dipak learned was that smaller businesses are run by art (magic); it is a few people who do the heavy lifting to ensure they survive and reach a point. However, once a business becomes large, scaling up requires science (logic). Many organisations are not able to make this transition.

    Dipak’s understanding of business, surviving it and then scaling it, what to do and what not to do, being relevant always, and his ability to narrate the story and set the narrative are some of the points that made him the obvious choice to be one of the Lions at the Lions’ Den show. 

    As Dipak says, lions are the kings of the jungle, but not all lions who are born become kings. The cubs have to survive Hyenas, some other animals, and the lions themselves. Only those lions who can do so end up becoming the kings of the Jungle.

    In her commitment to advancing hearing health, Devangi presented a paper on ‘Noise’ and its impact on hearing health at a virtual conference hosted by the CGHH. She also embarked on a mission to spread positivity during the Covid-19 pandemic by writing blogs in English and Gujarati languages, connecting nature’s teachings to individuals’ personal lives, and authored a series of 3 books titled “Spreading Positivity.”

    Her dedication was further acknowledged by the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport, which honored her with the Women Achievers Award in 2021. Being a devotee of Lord Krishna, she intertwines his teachings with modern-day experiences, spreading awareness through her writings. Her blogs and articles in Janmbhoomi Pravasi are praised for their simplistic approach, resonating with young readers as mythological teachings are explained with real-life incidents. Devangi has also made her mark as a singer and lyricist, debuting with the song “Radha Chali,” now streaming on various music platforms. 

    Devangi Dalal, in her unwavering commitment to the hearing-impaired community, authored books like “Chalo Badhirone Sambhalta Kariye” and “Jagya Tyarthi Sakaratmakta” in Gujarati. “Kuch Suna Aapne and Sakaratmak Jivan Shaili” in Hindi, catering to their linguistic needs.

    She aims to create a world where the hearing impaired excel, with an advanced center coaching public speaking and voice modulation, an Audio testing website promoted on FM Radio, and reality shows on National TV, highlighting their talents and achievements.

    As a devoted mother of two daughters, Devangi epitomizes the balance between career success and familial dedication, serving as an inspiration to all.     Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 17:  The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Asia’s oldest stock exchange, celebrated a landmark achievement today with the listing of its 500th small and medium enterprise (SME) on the BSE SME Platform. This milestone signifies the platform’s crucial role in empowering Indian SMEs and fostering their growth journeys.

    Mr. Ajay Thakur, who is recognized as the “Father of SME Capital Growth in India” and Head of BSE SME, played an important role in establishing this platform. The BSE SME Platform was the first of its category in India when it was introduced on March 13, 2012. It meant to provide SMEs with easier access to equity funding through relaxed eligibility criteria and streamlined post-listing compliance requirements.

    Initially, the platform faced challenges. To ease the risk, underwriting was made mandatory and the investment ticket size was set at approximately Rs 1.25 lakh. This guarded approach, though essential, led to a slower initial response. However, the BSE’s determination, commitment and consistent efforts paid off. Over time, the platform gained traction, attracting a various pool of investors, including Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), banks, High Net worth Individuals (HNIs), and retail investors.

    This commitment culminated in a significant occasion on May 14, 2024, with the listing of FINELISTINGS TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED as the 500th SME on the BSE SME Platform. This achievement marks a significant milestone for both the platform and Indian SMEs. These 500 companies have collectively raised a remarkable Rs 6,581 crore through the platform, creating a market capitalization of Rs 1,52,543 crore.

    This success story serves as a symbol of hope, encouraging countless other SMEs to consider listing and unlock their growth potential. Access to capital empowers them to invest in innovation, expand operations, and create valuable jobs, contributing significantly to the nation’s economic development.
