     Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 16: 121 Finance becomes India’s first fintech-led NBFC-Factor to receive the Certificate of Registration under Registration of Factors (Reserve Bank) Regulations, 2022. The NBFC-Factor addresses the most significant challenge most businesses suffer from, i.e., arranging short-term funds for MSMEs, without any collateral.

    Until now, Factoring was offered only to the large corporates; however, 121 Finance has brought factoring to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and has its roots ground deep in FinTech. MSMEs are actively seeking alternate sources of Working Capital, especially since the banks are moving out of cash credit limits for small businesses.

    121 Finance is versatile to handle the smallest of invoices and high volumes, with end-to-end digital processes. Through Gem Sahay, 121 Finance has been able to deliver a solution to a borrower via a Do It Yourself (DIY) model wherein borrowers can apply for a loan 24×7 by themselves. Using financial technologies and integrations on GeM Sahay, 121 Finance has been able to finance invoices as small as Rs 160.

    Regarding changes post the new factoring regulations by RBI in 2022, Dr Modani believes that the recent developments in e-invoicing coupled with Digital Factoring will disrupt the entire transaction-based lending in the country which will eventually help in mitigating a lot of risk in lending. “Revised Factoring regulations will also see a huge opportunity in the FinTech B2B lending space, with extremely competitive offerings. This will also give a lot of options to the businesses to choose from. With bigger NBFCs in play, the awareness of Factoring will increase amongst users, which will lead to the growth of the small business across the country,” adds Dr Modani.

    121 Finance is currently working on offering invoice verification using Blockchain technology and is developing algorithms using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance its credit coverage geographically.     Union Minister of State for Textiles Smt. Darshana Jardosh inaugurating CMAI FAB SHOW

    New Delhi (India), April 15: Speaking at the inauguration of (The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India) CMAI’s FAB (Fabrics, Accessories, and Beyond) Show, Union Minister of State for Textiles  Smt. Darshana Jardosh stressed that India’s Textile Industry had recovered smartly after the Covid crisis, and was on the way to meeting targets set by the Government. In fact, encouraged by the Industry’s response, the Government, in consultation with the various Export Promotion Councils, was considering raising the Export targets for the next year. Towards this end, the Government may set up a separate Export Promotion Council for Technical Textiles, which is a thrust area of focus for the Ministry of Textiles going forward.

    Smt. Jardosh expressed her satisfaction at the enthusiastic response of the Industry to the Government’s PLI Scheme; where close to 70 large players have applied to participate in the Scheme, which will give a huge boost to India’s efforts to penetrate into the MMF segment of the World Trade.

    Replying to a question during her interaction with the Press, Minister of State for Textiles Smt. Darshana Jardosh expressed her view that with the next few years Directions, Guidelines, Goals, as well as various Policies already in place, there is very little need for a formal Textile Policy.

    In an interaction with Industry as part of the inauguration program, the Minister assured the members that the Government is concerned about the unchecked raw material prices and was hopeful that a solution would be found soon. She also assured the members that Government was taking steps to address the issues relating to the pending TUFS schemes.

    The Minister lauded CMAI’s efforts to bring the entire Textile Supply Value Chain under one roof, and congratulated CMAI for the excellent Show organized. She was confident that this new initiative of CMAI will go a long way in bringing Buyers and Sellers from different parts of the Country closer together and thus increase their business.

    With over 200 Manufacturers and Suppliers of Fabrics, Accessories, and various other products and services, a spokesperson of CMAI predicted that the 3 day Fair could see a business of close to 2,500 crores being transacted.

    April 15: The Screen Writers Association (SWA) in a most audacious initiative,  set up a Script Lab last year that aims to give 6 deserving writers an opportunity to have their scripts mentored by the best contemporary writers/directors of Hindi film industry.

    SWA has roped in Abhishek Chaubey, Alankrita Shrivastava, Smita Singh, Sudip Sharma, Shakun Batra, and Vikramaditya Motwane as mentors for these 6 scripts. Each mentor will be reading and mentoring at least four of the six scripts during the lab. Robin Bhatt, President, SWA, on final selection of winners said, “SWA is happy to announce six sets of writers with Six complete scripts, mentored by Six brilliant and acclaimed writers/ directors. It’s a SIXER. ALL THE WAY.”

    The winners (Script Name and Writer/s) are :13 Days by Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy & Gaurav Krishna , Kashi Kothi Ka Kul by Akshay Asthana ,  A Dinner at Khan’s by Syed Shadan , Meiktila by Nimish Tanna , Dev Dikshit by Sandiip N Patil , Kriya Karam by Nipun Angrish & Gundeep Kaur.

    Mitesh Shah, Chairperson, SWA’s Event Sub-committee said, “With the Script Lab we aim to connect emerging screenwriters with eminent makers who have successfully navigated the industry with their distinct body of work and help them mentor their first drafts. It has been a truly humbling experience selecting six scripts out of six hundred entries through a rigorous and transparent selection process. We hope this helps them get a meaningful perspective on their drafts and simultaneously get their foot in the door.”

    The entire process which began with inviting entrees to ended with the announcement of final winners was divided into two stages.

    In Stage one, entries were called for SWA Script Lab on 8th September 2021. All SWA Members and non-members were eligible to participate. The participants were required to submit their bio, a writer’s statement, logline-synopsis along with the first ten pages of the Script.

    A total of 601 entries were received and a team of 12 readers went through in the first round of evaluation to bring them down to 61. Post which the 61 entries were re-distributed among the readers to arrive at the shortlist of the top 30.

    In the next Stage, the writers of these top 30 scripts were invited to submit their full length script which were then read by six readers in multiple rounds to arrive at the top 12 and finally the Six Winners were chosen for the Script Lab 2022 after an additional tie-breaker round.

    The readers who went through the humongous process of shortlisting the scripts in stage 1 are Prathyush Parasuraman, Garima Pura, Roopal Kewalya, Arati Raval, Yashna Malhotra, Mirat Trivedi, Puspangshu Chowdhury, Rigved Siriah, Arkesh Ajay,  Chirag Garg, Manoj Kalwani, Arpit Purohit. The Readers of stage 2 are  Pooja Tolani, Debashish Irengbam, Sweksha Bhagat, Hitesh Kewalya, Gaurav Patki, Dinkar Sharma.

    The Script Lab will be conducted in the month of May 2022. Each of the six winning scripts will be mentored by four of the mentors in one-on-one sessions. After the mentoring, the writers will be free to pitch their scripts to any of the production houses or independent filmmakers.

    April 15: The Journey of Chai Sutta Bar started in the cleanest city of India – Indore in 2016 when two young self-made entrepreneurs thought of a vision to serve India’s most preferred beverage in kulhads to serve the environment with the high maintenance of hygiene. Chai Sutta Bar endorses ‘desh ki mitti’ with its kulhad tea and has the vision to make everyone connect with the soil of India. The brand addresses absolute chai and food lovers with a variety of flavours and platters in an eco-friendly manner.

    Apart from its food and world-class services, the brand provides a source of regular income to potter families and employs specially-abled youth for making a more inclusive and brighter India. In 2021 only, Chai Sutta Bar has opened 110 outlets while generating employment opportunities for at least 400 people from the economically poor section. Now, with the arrival of 2022, the company targets to open 1500 outlets by the end of the year and provide more employment to people with a similar background. Since its earlier days, the company has been providing opportunities to orphans and specially-abled persons and aims to continue its efforts in providing flavours in life in a real sense.

    The company uses over 3 lakhs kulhads every day and supports more than 1500 potter families. It also employs more than 500 people from a diverse section of the society with special emphasis on weaker sections.

    “Over 3 lakh kulhads are used every day. We wanted to help thousands of pottery makers. As we keep expanding, we will require close to 5 lakhs of kulhads every day,” said Anubhav Dubey, Co-Founder of Chai Sutta Bar. Dubey also aims to have Chai Sutta Bar’s presence in every city of India within two years, thus spreading more happiness and generating more employment opportunities for the people of India.

    Recently, the company opened its 300th outlet in Port Blair, Andaman in a gala-like event. The brand has successfully been welcomed by major South Indian cities and is on the mission to cover the region more. Looking at the scorching heat, the brand also introduces some summer special beverages like a refreshing variety of lassi and mojitos to give respite from this heat.
