  • 82% of students of grades 11 and 12 consider career counseling in schools an imperative: 2021IC3 Institute Student Quest Survey

The survey shows Australia and India are similarly ranked in students’ choice of preferred country of study.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 30: In a survey conducted with over 6600 students from grades 9-12, 82% of the respondents agree that career counseling is important in high school, reveals the 2021 IC3 Institute Student Quest Survey report.

The survey, conducted in June-July 2021, in collaboration with Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, examines the dynamics of students’ decision-making process for higher education. More than 6600 students between grades 9 and 12 from 2000 schools across India and South Asia responded to the survey.

The report suggests that students begin thinking about their career and related job prospects early – in high school itself. 71% of the students have already started thinking about their future employment. The top three factors in choosing a university include the institution’s placement record, rankings, and program design. Ranked fourth was fees, followed by location and the quality of faculty members. Interestingly, the quality of faculty as a factor for choosing a university was low-ranked by students in grades 9 and 10, while students in grades 11 and 12 ranked the quality of faculty significantly higher. When choosing a particular program, three factors seem to be most significant: about 35% of the respondents said that they would choose a program based on their interests, 27% favored future job prospects, and 21% per cent give the highest importance to their own perceived strength in a particular area of study. 32% of the students who preferred to study abroad favored the U.S., followed by the U.K. and Canada (20% and 16%, respectively). Following the top three countries, Australia and India are similarly ranked in students’ choice of preferred country of study.

“As educators, we are all striving hard each day to make the best possible support available to our students, both in the classroom and beyond. How these students are guided today, how they take decisions, what factors influence those decisions will really shape their educational and professional choices in the coming years. The choices of our future leaders will determine the talent and human capital this world will have, defining where we are headed as a global community. Taking a data-centric approach and asking students themselves how they want to be supported is critical to informing and developing the best practices of career counseling support in schools. The 2021 IC3 Institute Student Quest survey findings bring forth useful information for all stakeholders- schools, universities, industries, and policymakers”, says Ganesh Kohli, Founder, IC3 Movement & Chair, Board of Trustees, IC3 Institute.

  • Want to become a doctor? Cannot Afford High tuition fees in Pvt / Deemed Colleges of India?

Pune, August 27: An expert and certified career counselor for international studies at India to International, a leading career counseling firm in Pune, predicts a 25 per cent increase in the number of applicants opting to study MBBS abroad compared to 2020. The number of applications for the exam NEET-UG received by NTA since its launch in 2017 has increased every year. This year we are seeing the same trend with students. The most significant factor that worries an applicant is the competition. From this year, the Government of India has decided to introduce 27% OBC reservation (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10% EWS reservation for 15% graduate seats (UG) in All India Quota (MBBS/BDS) (provided by states/UTs on Central Pool). Applicants who want to pursue MBBS studies in government institutions or at Pvt Institutions where the fee is affordable will face stiffer competition for these seats. Ultimately, some will not make it, and some will succeed. We have grown fond of those who fail to make it year after year, and we genuinely feel sorry for these families. These days, the NEET – UG exam has become a family affair. Everyone in the family of NEET aspirants is making sacrifices in one way or the other. India to International Counselors understands this severe problem for those who fail to make it. We want to educate all the candidates and their parents through this article that this is not the end of the road; we are among the dedicated professionals who help students with personal, emotional, and psychological problems while they try to pursue their dream careers. India to International is aware of this bitter reality that money is a crucial factor in the world and our times. As bad as it may sound, sometimes people have to compromise on their choice of studies if they cannot afford it. At India to International, our counselors motivate candidates and make them understand that while the money factor may influence their career choice, it should not be the only factor that makes them abandon their dream journey midway. If they are willing to put in the effort and make some minor adjustments, such as living far away from their hometown, they can still dream of becoming a successful doctor.

As a company, we offer admission to the best world-class universities around the world at Affordable Budget. Why does India International promote MBBS to study abroad? Firstly, the fee structure at universities abroad is very affordable compared to many Pvt Medical College or Deemed Universities in India. The universities we offer are mainly Govt. Universities in Russia, Ukraine, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritius, Italy, Hungary, etc. Secondly, unlike in India, Universities/Institutes abroad provide students with state-of-the-art facilities for a holistic educational experience. Thirdly, universities have top-notch faculty members and offer internationally recognized degrees to the students to make a name for themselves in their field across the globe. Universities and colleges abroad also provide students with the highest level of security to feel at home in a foreign country. Fourth, many state universities abroad use English as the primary language of instruction and communication at medical schools to attract international students.

However, applicants should note that it is always an advantage to be proficient in the local language. Exposure of the research opportunities available to students in foreign universities is far greater than in India, even at the undergraduate level. Since the medical industry is global and well-connected, an MBBS graduate from abroad is not just limited to his home country but can also apply for various PG courses or entrance exams. What do we do? What is our mission? We take great care to offer college to different applicants, considering their learning style, budget, aptitude, and individual suitability for the weather. We also educate students on the importance of being aware that course durations vary from country to country. We also advise students on the choice of course based on duration and give them insights into the differences between a 4, 5, or 6-year MBBS program abroad with or without internships in India and abroad. We also ensure that all candidates choose the right accredited college. The NExT exam will be implemented in 2023 for Indian MBBS graduates and foreign medical graduates applying for licensure in India. We have Exclusive Tie-Ups with various reputed Indian Faculties /speakers, which will prepare our students for the NExT exam at the beginning of the fourth year. • Schools Unhappy With Board Results Protest At CBSE Headquarter.

New Delhi, Aug 19: Unhappy with the 10th and 12th  results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), private schools and students staged a dharna on Wednesday at the CBSE headquarters in Preet Vihar, Delhi. This demonstration was held under the National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA). NISA has demanded that CBSE take responsibility for this result drawn under the substandard system so that tomorrow the students do not curse the schools.

More than 150 school owners from various states and all the students of Delhi participated in this demonstration. NISA National President Kulbhushan Sharma said that there is a lot of anger among teachers, students, and parents regarding the tabulation formula made for preparing CBSEs 10th and 12th class results. Due to this result, the problems of the school administration and school operators have increased. Students and their parents are asking questions about their future and career. Therefore, NISA has demanded from CBSE that they should take full responsibility for their board results themselves.

All the school owners and students demonstrated this demand on Wednesday at the CBSE Headquarters in Preet Vihar by holding a symbolic protest. Many students say that this result declared through CBSE has ruined both their future and career. Due to this, now neither the school will run, nor the students will be saved. Therefore, CBSE will have to take full responsibility for this poor result itself.

According to NISA President Kulbhushan Sharma, under the tabulation policy of CBSE, the scope of giving numbers to the children of schools has been limited, and there is no such restriction in the state board. Under which the number of children is high in the state board, and the number of middle and low-grade children who appeared in the CBSE examination has remained low, which is a gross injustice to these children and their parents. NISA also raised its voice for the safety of teachers. Also demanded the representation of private schools from all over the country in the CBSE governing body.
