    CMAI Welcomes Governments Latest Notification on Excluding Loose Garments from Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules – Primex News Network

    August 26: The Government today issued a vital notification clarifying that Garments or Hosiery products sold in the loose form will not be covered under the provisions of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, subject to providing a few details.

    Most importantly, the Notification gives a clear definition of a “loose” Garment as one sold loose or open at the point of sale in such manner that the consumer can inspect the products before buying.

    CMAI has been representing to the concerned Ministries for years now that Garments by their very nature – these can be seen, touched, felt, and even tried on in most cases – should not be included in the ambit of a “packaged” commodity, where the consumer buys the product in a sealed condition without having the opportunity to see, examine, or test the communicated parameters.

    “By giving a precise description of what constitutes a loose garment, the Government has addressed a long-standing grievance of the Industry, and will hopefully minimise and even eliminate the Inspector Harassment faced by the Industry”, expressed Rajesh Masand, President, CMAI.

    “The other crucial clarification included in the current Notification is that the Garment should be in a loose form as defined in the Notification, at the point of purchase by the Consumer – again issuing a clarification that goods being in a packed form for safety or hygiene consideration during storage and transit before it reaches the point of purchase will not be considered as ‘packed’“ added Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor and Past President, CMAI.

    CMAI, at the same time, welcomed the details required to be indicated on the garments, such as MRP, Internationally accepted Size Indicators, Name of the Manufacturer or Marketer or Importer, as well as Contact details of Consumer Care, which will offer protection to the consumer.

    This Notification has been issued by the Government as a result of years of representations by the Industry, and in particular by CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India) and FOHMA (Federation of Hosiery Manufacturers Association).

It is the 62nd group show which is showcased at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery, Auditorium Hall, Mumbai, from 23rd to 29th August 2022. Nine painters, three sculptors, and one printmaker have put together this beautiful art show for art lovers.

    Created by members of a special artist guild that has existed since 1979, these artists have come all the way from Bengal to display their various art forms. Since 1979, leaders of this group have worked diligently to effectively plan painting and sculpture exhibitions in various galleries in different cities and across borders, promoting art and artists in the current contemporary art scene.

    August 26: Y&V Events has successfully hosted the first edition of the Asia Pacific Dance Congress (APDC) in the city of gold- Dubai, which showcased the finest dances, dancers, and choreographers from Asia and the Middle East. The grand dancing championship was held between 12th– 15th Aug 2022, and more than 100 participants participated from 12 different cities in India and UAE.

    The high-end event brought together well-known dance and choreography industry figures as well as a power-packed audience. Guest of Honor Rajat Karol (President – World Bollywood Dance Federation) and Chief Guest Arvind Kumar (President- All India Dance sport Federation) facilitated the awards to the best performers and winners of the competition.

     100+ participants participated from 12 cities in India and UAE

    August 26: Y&V Events has successfully hosted the first edition of the Asia Pacific Dance Congress (APDC) in the city of gold- Dubai, which showcased the finest dances, dancers, and choreographers from Asia and the Middle East. The grand dancing championship was held between 12th– 15th Aug 2022, and more than 100 participants participated from 12 different cities in India and UAE.

    The high-end event brought together well-known dance and choreography industry figures as well as a power-packed audience. Guest of Honor Rajat Karol (President – World Bollywood Dance Federation) and Chief Guest Arvind Kumar (President- All India Dance sport Federation) facilitated the awards to the best performers and winners of the competition.

The spirit of contemporary dance is to integrate with other art forms and build connections with daily life.     Aspiring dancers from New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Lucknow, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Sharjah, and Dubai were given the unique opportunity to participate in 12 myriad workshops led by dance legends such as Fernando Aguilera, Jai Kumar Nair, Deepthi Shetty, PurvaKoser, Saj& Emi, and a master class by Terence Lewis. The workshop enabled participants to put on their dancing shoes and learn a variety of dance styles such as Contemporary, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Ballet, Bellydance, Indian Classical, and Latin Dance.

    The Asia Pacific Open Dance Championship was judged by Terence Lewis, Fernando Aguilera and Varun DS Rana. Based on a variety of criteria, including a dancer’s age, level, technique, performance quality, choreography, and presentation, below are the winners in several categories.

    August 25: Sports brand PUMA India has entered a partnership with popular Indian singer Harrdy Sandhu. The new association with the popstar, fashion & fitness icon, actor, sneakerhead and former cricketer comes as part of PUMA’s decisive commitment towards connecting with youth culture and strengthening the brand’s geographical relevance.

    With this, Harrdy (35) joins PUMA’s roster of ambassadors such as Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Yuvraj Singh, MC Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara and Dutee Chand.

    Under the partnership, Harrdy will engage with PUMA’s large base of customers and create exclusive content poised to further cement the brand’s market leadership position in India. He will endorse the brand’s footwear, apparel and accessories including select collections.

    Harrdy rose to fame with songs such as Bijlee Bijlee, Kya Baat Aye, Naah and Backbone. The track Bijlee Bijlee earned a colossal 395 million+ views. In 2021, the singer-actor was seen in Bollywood sports drama ‘83’’, essaying the role of legendary cricketer Madan Lal. To be sure, Harrdy is a former cricketer and has played in the U-19 Cricket World Cup India team as fast bowler in 2004. He is also an avid dancer and a fitness enthusiast.

In 2019, the brand had associated with Indian rapper DIVINE of “Gully Boy” fame to extend a message of support to Virat Kohli ahead of the cricket season with an anthem for fans called #SockThem.
