  • GoSats Integrates with Flipkart SuperCoins to Enable Asset-linked Rewards for Indian Users

GoSats Integrates with Flipkart SuperCoins to Enable Asset-linked Rewards for Indian Users

New Delhi [India], January 31: GoSats, an asset-based rewards company, today announced a comprehensive integration with Flipkart SuperCoins. This strategic integration extends Flipkart’s loyalty currency into asset-linked and high-utility use cases, allowing users to utilise SuperCoins for Bitcoin rewards and Digital Gold purchases on the GoSats platform.

The integration marks a definitive shift in the loyalty landscape, establishing a “Loyalty-to-Wealth” bridge where SuperCoins are utilised for asset-backed rewards rather than traditional consumption. To simplify user adoption, the partnership enables direct wealth creation: users can convert up to 50 SuperCoins per month into Sats (Bitcoin) to “stack” assets before points expire, or redeem SuperCoins to receive a flat 20% discount on 24K Digital Gold purchases (up to INR 5000 per month).

Beyond investments, the collaboration enhances day-to-day financial utility. Users can burn SuperCoins to avail a 20% discount (up to INR 50 per month) on utility bill payments and select brand vouchers. The integration also allows exclusive platform privileges to power users to upgrade to its highest reward tier, the GoSats Elite Card, at a 50% discount (up to ₹500 per month).

GoSats has announced a special campaign starting January 28th to celebrate this launch. Running for a period of 90 days (or until stocks last), this initiative allows users to unlock cumulative benefits worth over ₹15,000 across digital gold, bill payments, and platform upgrades during the campaign period.

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr Mohammed Roshan, Co-founder & CEO of GoSats, said, “We are witnessing a paradigm shift where loyalty points are no longer just for saving on the next purchase, but for building long-term wealth. By integrating with Flipkart SuperCoins, we are introducing a Loyalty-to-Wealth use case that enables Bitcoin-curious Gen Z and Millennial users to explore asset-backed rewards without deploying direct capital. This initiative enables users to actively utilise their SuperCoins for asset-linked rewards such as Bitcoin and Digital Gold instead of letting unused points lapse”

This collaboration targets both “Bitcoin-curious” users looking to explore asset-backed rewards without upfront cash deployment and “power users” seeking higher utility for their SuperCoin balances. By enabling the conversion of points into 24K Digital Gold and Bitcoin, GoSats aims to position loyalty programs as a gateway to financial inclusion and passive saving.

    About GoSats:

GoSats is an innovative financial platform that converts everyday spending into investments in valuable asset classes. Therefore, it provides a unique opportunity for passive savings and wealth creation.

Manipuri dancer returns to Manipur to distribute US-raised aid for IDPs

New Delhi [India], January 30: Eminent Manipuri dancer Rinku Bhattacharya Das, who raised funds in the United States for internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the ethnic conflict in Manipur, has arrived in the state to begin distributing relief assistance among inmates of various relief camps.

Addressing a press conference at the Manipur Press Club on Sunday, Das said her initiative was born out of the emotional impact of witnessing the suffering of displaced families during her visit to Manipur in July 2025.

Recalling her visit to relief camps, she said the experience profoundly moved her and inspired her to create a special dance production that captured the pain, trauma and resilience of people affected by the ongoing crisis.

“When I visited the relief camps last July, I connected deeply with the children and families living there. Their stories, their struggles, and their strength stayed with me. I felt a responsibility to respond through my art,” she said.

The dance production was later staged in the United States and performed by American students under her guidance.

According to Das, the performance received an overwhelming response and helped mobilise support for displaced families from Manipur.

  • Best Health Insurance Policy in India: How to Judge If the Sum Insured Is Actually Usable

Best Health Insurance Policy in India: How to Judge If the Sum Insured Is Actually Usable

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 30: Rising medical costs mean that a single hospital stay can disturb a family budget, even when a policy shows a large sum insured on paper. Many people search online for the best health insurance policy in India without checking how much of that cover will be paid at claim time.

This blog explains the key features that decide whether a sum insured is truly usable, so readers can assess policies with more clarity.

What “Usable Sum Insured” Actually Means

“Usable sum insured” refers to the portion of the stated cover that is likely to be available for admissible expenses, without being reduced by hidden caps, cost-sharing rules, or restrictive definitions. Usability depends on how the policy treats room category, procedure costs, and common billing items such as medicines, diagnostics, and doctor fees. While comparing the best health insurance plan in India, it helps to read these rules with the same attention given to the premium and coverage.

    Hospital Room Rent Limits

Room eligibility affects the payable amount because the room category can influence the overall tariff in many hospitals. If the policy places a room rent cap and admission happens in a higher category, the insurer may apply a proportionate deduction.

This means multiple related charges may be reduced, not only the room rent. When assessing the best health insurance policy in India, room rent terms should be checked for clarity, reasonable limits, and whether proportionate deductions are applied.

    Sub-Limits on Treatments and Procedures

Sub-limits are separate caps on certain treatments, surgeries, or bill categories under the overall sum insured. Even with high coverage, a low sub-limit can reduce how much the insurer will pay for that specific item. If the hospital bill crosses this cap, the extra amount is usually paid by the policyholder. Policies are easier to use when sub-limits are limited, clearly explained, and not set too low for current hospital charges.

Co-Payment Clauses: When You Pay Even After Insurance

Co-payment means the insured person pays a fixed percentage of every admissible claim, and the insurer pays the remaining percentage. It is different from non-payable items because it applies even after the claim is approved. Co-pay clauses may be linked to age, location, or plan design, and they can reduce the effective value of the sum insured for each hospitalisation.

    Network Hospitals and Cashless Access

Cashless care can make the sum insured more usable because it reduces the need for large upfront payments and supports smoother approvals. However, the network list alone is not enough.

The process depends on pre-authorisation rules, response timelines, and how emergencies are handled. It also helps to check how the insurer manages partial approvals and what documents are required for reimbursement when a network facility is not available.

Disease-wise Waiting Periods and Permanent Exclusions

These rules decide whether the sum insured is available for certain illnesses, especially in the initial policy years.

    • Initial waiting period for non-accidental hospitalisation
    • Waiting period for pre-existing diseases, counted from policy start
    • Specific waiting periods for listed conditions and surgeries
    • Permanent exclusions are stated in the policy wording
    • Limits linked to particular treatments, supplies, or billing heads

Restoration, Refill, and Bonus Covers: Are They Truly Usable?

Restoration or refill benefits add cover back after the sum insured is used, and bonus features may increase cover over time. Their value depends on when they activate and how they can be used. Some policies restore only after complete exhaustion, while others restore after partial use. Some allow use only for unrelated illnesses, and some restrict use to one restoration in a policy year.

Claim Settlement Ratio Vs Claim Approval Experience

The claim settlement ratio shows the share of claims that an insurer has settled over a period. A steady ratio is one indicator of stability, but it does not reveal how quickly approvals are issued, how often claims are partly paid or how clearly deductions are explained.

Actual claim experience depends on service aspects such as clear communication, support during cashless authorisation and fairness in applying the rules written in the policy document. A health insurance premium calculator can help compare costs, but usability is better judged by policy terms that govern approvals and deductions.

    Conclusion

A sum insured is truly usable when policy clauses do not routinely reduce what is payable during hospitalisation. Room rent caps, sub-limits, co-pay conditions, network access rules, and waiting periods can all shrink the amount that can be claimed, even when the coverage looks high. The best health insurance policy in India is usually the one where these terms are transparent, reasonable, and easy to apply at the time of need.

  • Can Technology Be Sustainable? Youth Delegates Discuss and Decide at MiniCOP30

Can Technology Be Sustainable? Youth Delegates Discuss and Decide at MiniCOP30

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], January 28: Every new phone, laptop, or app update promises convenience and progress. But very rarely do we stop to ask where these devices come from, where they end up, and who bears the environmental and social cost of our digital habits. From rising e-waste and unsustainable mining to the growing energy footprint of Artificial Intelligence, the impact of technology today extends far beyond our screens.

It is this question that MiniCOP30, an initiative by the Bajaj Foundation, set out to explore.

Notably, the Mini-COP stood out as India’s first localised youth-focused climate simulation dedicated entirely to the intersection of electronic waste and artificial intelligence, offering a first-of-its-kind space for young leaders to shift the conversation from awareness to action.

MiniCOP30 is a student simulation inspired by the Conference of the Parties (COP) model, designed to mirror how global climate negotiations take place, while giving young people the space to dialogue, negotiate, and collectively shape solutions around sustainability and justice.

Through discussion and dialogue, youth delegates adopted a collective resolution calling for immediate action on the environmental and social impact of electronics and artificial intelligence. Participants agreed that circularity must sit at the heart of the electronics lifecycle, with products designed for durability, repair, reuse, and safe recycling. Students stressed that countries must take responsibility for the electronic waste they generate, strengthening domestic recycling systems instead of exporting waste to vulnerable regions.

A key focus of the Mini-COP was the protection and formalisation of informal e-waste workers. Delegates called for access to training, healthcare, fair wages, legal aid, and alternative livelihoods for those working in unsafe and unregulated conditions. They also urged greater transparency and accountability from mining and electronics corporations including public disclosure of environmental and social impacts and responsibility for ecological restoration.

Discussions also centred on Responsible Artificial Intelligence. Students called for the adoption of energy-efficient, low-carbon AI practices, transparent AI policies, protection of indigenous and marginalised communities, and meaningful inclusion of youth in AI governance and decision-making.

Reflecting on the experience, a student delegate shared, “It’s a huge honour to be here, to discuss these topics and hear different viewpoints on how these issues are developing in the countries we represent.” Another participant added that “ecological travesty is a huge issue in today’s everyday life,” and expressed excitement about discussing how these challenges can be addressed.

Educators echoed the optimism in the room. A teacher from Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, Jaipur, noted, “The energy and enthusiasm of the participants were incredible. Students presented thoughtful ideas on tackling e-waste, a major threat not just to India as a fast-developing nation, but to developed countries worldwide. These young ambassadors and global citizens give me hope that real solutions are possible.”

The MiniCOP30 concluded with a shared belief that technology, sustainability, and justice must move forward together, and that governments, industry, and young people all have a role to play in shaping a more responsible future.

  • IAAPI: Key Policy Advocacy Initiatives for the Amusement Industry

IAAPI: Key Policy Advocacy Initiatives for the Amusement Industry

New Delhi [India], January 28: The Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) continues to actively engage with policymakers to support the sustainable growth of India’s amusement sector, which includes amusement parks, water parks, theme parks, and indoor amusement centres. The association’s key advocacy initiatives currently underway are as follows:

    1. BIS Certification Relaxation
IAAPI, in collaboration with leading indoor amusement centre operators, is engaging with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to seek relaxation in BIS certification norms for imported amusement equipment. Discussions to date have been constructive, and the industry remains optimistic about a pragmatic outcome that balances safety with ease of operations.

    2. GST Rationalisation on Amusement Operations
IAAPI is advocating for a reduction in the GST rate on amusement operations from 18% to 5%, engaging with relevant ministries to ensure that the sector’s concerns are heard and addressed. These efforts are ongoing, with sustained advocacy aimed at fostering the industry’s long-term growth.

    3. Collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism
IAAPI is working closely with the Ministry of Tourism to develop a strategic roadmap for the amusement sector. An elite consultancy has been engaged to conduct a comprehensive study and prepare a sector-specific strategy paper, providing actionable recommendations for future growth.

    4. White Paper on Indoor Amusement Centres (IACs)
IAAPI is preparing a comprehensive white paper on indoor amusement centres in India. This study—conducted in collaboration with a leading real estate agency—will cover the sector’s history, current landscape, emerging trends, challenges, and growth opportunities.

    5. Manufacturing Support & PLI Advocacy
IAAPI is actively pursuing government support to promote domestic manufacturing of amusement equipment, positioning the sector as both an import-substitute and an export-oriented industry. Advocacy for inclusion under the PLI (Production Linked Incentive) framework, inspired by the success of India’s toy manufacturing industry, is in its final documentation stage and will be formally submitted shortly.

IAAPI’s policy advocacy is guided by the exemplary leadership of the 1st and 2nd Vice Chairs, whose strategic guidance and active involvement have been invaluable. The Board of Directors provides ongoing direction and support, while the IAAPI Secretariat plays a critical role in research, coordination, and execution of these initiatives.

Through these efforts, IAAPI remains committed to constructive engagement with the government to enable the long-term, sustainable growth of India’s amusement industry.
