CFTI joins hands with the Soi Foundation to distribute bicycles to underprivileged female students – Primex News Network

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 6: CFTI, an NGO with deep grassroot networks, has launched a drive to distribute nearly 1,00,000 bicycles to underprivileged girl students located across several villages in Maharashtra. Having already distributed 13,000 bicycles, they aim to keep bringing the number up and reach as many girls as possible. The campaign’s objective is to make long-distance travel for them easier since they have to walk several miles, often under challenging conditions.

Stepping in to help them is the Soi Foundation, managed by Taruna and Abhay Soi, who are going above and beyond to contribute to the cause and make it a rousing success.

Many of the girls in villages come from underprivileged backgrounds and are daughters of fishermen, construction workers, restaurant help etc. Due to financial constraints, the students cannot spend money on transportation services and are forced to drop out. Additionally, walking long distances in these villages comes with its fair share of problems and girls have to put their safety at risk every day. There are several potential hazards, from animal attacks to harsh weather conditions to crossing difficult terrain.

Recognising their plight, the Soi Foundation is passionately driving this campaign forward by becoming champions for the cause and donating a significant amount of bicycles.

Happy to be a part of the initiative, Abhay & Taruna Soi said, “A cause like this is close to our hearts, and to see so many girls struggling to receive proper education makes us feel disheartened. Something like this will go a long way in ensuring that every young girl, regardless of her socioeconomic background, can continue their education and not be forced to drop out due to uncontrollable circumstances. We are happy to do our part!”

Speaking of the campaign, Chitralekha Patil, Chairperson, CFTI Trust, said, “Working for the empowerment of girls, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, is a strong driving force in my life. This initiative is important because I believe education is every girl child’s right, and any help we can provide to keep their dreams alive is paramount and feeds into our larger purpose of contributing to social upliftment at a grassroots level. I am also overjoyed that the Soi Foundation is playing a huge role in this and helping us reach our goal.”

Centre For Transformation India (CTFI) is a grassroots level non-governmental organization founded in 2009 that works towards bringing growth opportunities to rural India through education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, and other sustainable development goals.

With a strong network of 700+ grassroots-level volunteers connected to the soil working towards transforming rural India by building opportunities and sources for the villagers to lead a better life, CTFI has undertaken numerous initiatives for the upliftment of villages in Maharashtra.

  • Shipyaari and Smart Commute Foundation appeal to Mumbai “Get-Set-Green” on the World Bicycle Day 2022

Shipyaari and Smart Commute Foundation appeal to Mumbai “Get-Set-Green” on the World Bicycle Day 2022

    Read Time:4 Minute, 9 Second

The ride’s objective was to emphasize safe cycling infrastructure and achieve more significant health equity for city residents.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 6: Shipyaari and Smart Commute Foundation, under their initiative Cycle Chala City Bacha, held a mega cycling event on the occasion of World Bicycle Day on June 3, 2022. The 22 KM ride was jointly flagged off by Nayan Ratandhayara, the CEO and Co-founder of Shipyaari and Firoza Suresh, the Director of SCF, at 6 AM from Shipyaari HQ at Malad and concluded at Bandra Reclamation.

The bicycle rally was greeted by hundreds of bystanders and fellow cyclists on the way. Close to 200 Cyclists converged at the iconic “I love Mumbai” installation near Bandra-Worli Sealink. The event concluded with felicitations of Bicycle Councillors and Marshals who collectively work towards combating climatic changes for a better future for our younger generation.

Reports have warned about the perils of global warming, and cycling has proved to be one of the most cost-effective means to counter this hazard and contribute to sustainable development. Thus, on World Bicycle Day, Shipyaari and SCF joined hands to invite the Cyclist community for a momentous ride across all 24 wards. The ride’s objective was to emphasize a safe cycling infrastructure and achieve more significant health equity. The event focused on drawing attention to the benefits of using a bicycle as an equitable, cost-effective, and sustainable means of transport.

Being the logistics partner for this mega event and a responsible supporter of sustainable goals, Shipyaari humbly sponsored cycling T-shirts, medals, trophies and healthy refreshments for the participants. Apart from managing the pre-event logistics pertaining to the T-shirt movement across the length and breadth of Mumbai, Shipyaari also extended its support by renting bicycles for the participants who had the enthusiasm to participate but didn’t have the bicycles.

Flagging off the ride, Nayan said, “I used to ride my bicycle to my school in Junagadh, but all was lost as we entered this fast-track life in Mumbai. But I have tried to revive my love for cycling again. I always believe that creating a safe biking culture in Mumbai and across India is critical to our march towards affordable and zero-emissions mobility. The celebration ride like these will help expand biking across Mumbai and, in turn, help our city do the hard work of crafting a shared and just future for the residents of our nation and our planet.”

On occasion, Firoza Suresh, the founder of Smart Commute Foundation and popularly known as ‘the first Bicycle Mayor’, said, “Mumbai is a linear city and has the potential to become the cycling capital of India (by 2030) as bicycles are the future, and global cycling literacy is ever-increasing. Above all, it is a great platform to bring together the citizens of Mumbai bonded by a love for cycling and a will to contribute to the betterment of the city they belong to. The time has come for the people of Mumbai to actively participate in shaping the city. By bringing cycling into our everyday commute, we are making a strong statement on what we envision the streets of Mumbai to become – open, safe, people-friendly and green. The idea is to celebrate World Bicycle Day not just on June 3, but every day and unite the cycling community with support from like-minded organizations like Shipyaari.”

Leading the ride, Vishal Totla, the COO and Co-founder of Shipyaari, said, “With the rise in global warming, we need to look for greener alternatives continuously. As an organization, we have always encouraged green practices internally and externally. I live a very green life – My home in Aurangabad has a solar plant, and as a family, we often participate in events like planting trees etc. On the business front, we are extensively working on plans to support usage of EVs in logistical movement.”

Welcoming participants at the destination, Rahul Karwa, Mentor and Growth Catalyst at Shipyaari, revealed the plans for creating initiatives to adopt sustainable practices within the organization. “We are trying to create an incentive system for our employees to use sustainable practices like cycling for commuting to work and minimizing paper usage in our office. Sponsoring this event is our way to announce our green vision symbolically.”

Shipyaari is a Mumbai headquartered SaaS-based logistics aggregation platform. The tech platform helps reduce the paper consumption in logistical operations substantially, and as an organization, Shipyaari operates with immense mindfulness when it comes to sustainability.

Cycle Chala City Bacha, an initiative of the Smart Commute Foundation (SCF), focuses on an active citizen movement promoting non-motorised transport, health and fitness, with a vision to make Mumbai the cycling capital of India.

  • Shikhar Dhawan Foundation joins hands with the Cuddles Foundation to Help Children Fight Cancer with Proper Nutrition – Primex News Network

Shikhar Dhawan Foundation joins hands with the Cuddles Foundation to Help Children Fight Cancer with Proper Nutrition – Primex News Network

Mumbai (India), June 2: This Friday marks the end of month long campaign by Shikhar Dhawan Foundation in association with the The Cuddles Foundation to help beat the cancer in children with proper nutrition. Children who are malnourished cannot tolerate chemotherapy and also the treatment puts them at risk of infections. Those malnourished are at higher risks, thus increasing mortality. Chemotherapy in malnourished children reacts different and can be toxic. This is the challenge that Shikhar Dhawan Foundation & Cuddles Foundation, both nonprofit, seeks to address.

In a country where 50,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, several challenges stand in the way of being cured. At present, Cuddles Foundation’s Food Heals programme bridges the nutrition gap in children with cancer in 35 government and charity hospitals in 20 cities across India. Through this campaign, The Shikhar Dhawan Foundation aims to beat the cancer disease among children with access to the path to better recovery and good health. In future as well, The Shikhar Dhawan Foundation will equip the partnering organizations and children who are cancer patients with all possible supplies of medication and food supplies.

Dr. Kanika Dewan, Director-Impact and Strategy, Shikhar Dhawan Foundation says, “that the Foundation is working relentlessly to fulfill basic requirements of education & health supplies for underprivileged children, and I believe that such good initiatives can actually bring about a change in people’s lives and society.  Improving care for children with proper healthy food will prevent thousands of needless deaths in future. A child needs to have proper nutrition and a healthy diet to fight cancer. Moreover, they must be physically strong to endure the pain of radiation and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, about 40 percent of Indian children diagnosed with cancer are malnourished. Moreover, malnourished children are at a greater risk of infections, side effects, complications and treatment delays. We have partnered with the Cuddle foundation & hosted a food heals program with them, where we got a chance to spend some time with cancer survivors and got to know about them and their stories. The campaign was all about beating childhood cancer and we were overwhelmed with this collaboration, as eating well gives you the best feeling for good health and recovery.”

Mr. Amitesh Shah, CEO, Da-One Group, says, “Campaign with The Cuddles foundation was a great success and I would like to congratulate the entire team for the same, we as an organization extended support to parents and children suffering from the disease by providing them with hot meals, dietary supplements, eggs, bananas and a monthly ration for them. We are looking forward to more such projects with Cuddles Foundation in future as well.

Research shows that when children fighting cancer are nourished, their survival rate can go up to 70%. At Cuddles, we want to make sure that every child fighting cancer in India has a chance at a cure. We do this through our nutrition program that is currently active in 35 government and charity cancer hospitals but to make sure that our program reaches more children, we need voices like Shikhar Dhawan’s & support from Shikhar Dhawan Foundation to bring in more support and awareness for the program. We can’t thank him enough for putting our mission out there. Food heals but it needs all of us to take it to children who need it the most!,” says Purnota Dutta Bahl, Founder & CEO, Cuddles Foundation.

  • Dr. Girish Tathed Cures Mental Illnesses Like Depression With Homeopathic Therapies – Primex News Network

Dr. Girish Tathed Cures Mental Illnesses Like Depression With Homeopathic Therapies – Primex News Network

Pune, May 30: Dr. Girish Tathed has been captivated by the homoeopathic practices and approaches since his school times. He has formed a much stronger and more paramount connection with his patients. He wants to put the age-old holistic homoeopathic medicinal perspective in the spotlight and appeal to its extraordinary ways of cure; that’s why he knows as the best homoeopathy doctor in Pune. The kind of treatment that mends the mind and the human body. According to him, the newer generation needs to understand the pure ways how homoeopathy functions and treats people in a pain-free, safe, and convenient manner.

With his treatments, Dr, Tathed tends to search for the root causes of every problem and focuses on the entirety of the well-being of his patients. His homoeopathic cures do not let the mind get in the way of the bonafide functioning of the body. He delivers research-based and exemplary techniques to treat several important brain diseases like depression. Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses among people these days. Some principal symptoms visible in depressed patients are sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness.

The doctor believes that depression can be occurred due to day-to-day stress and frustration. For instance, if a person is not appreciated at work or does not get a promotion, or anything that happens against the person’s wishes and expectations are not met, these can lead to depressive behaviors. A person dealing with a severe case of depression finds it difficult to come out of a situation or move on from it. The doctor also points out that depression can easily occur in people who have prolonged diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, and hypothyroidism. In depression, some neurochemicals and hormones like dopamine play a role in how we feel happiness and pleasure become lesser.

The doctor also explains how depression occurs in females going through the menopausal stage; they lack the will to continue their everyday activities, become anti-social and have major feelings of sorrow. In today’s times, depression is also seen in teenagers and young adults who deal with heartbreaks, the pressure of getting into a good college, and the denial of being accepted by their families and peers.

According to Dr, Tathed, the greatest way to overcome depression is through homoeopathy, exercising, and meditation. The homoeopathic approach will look for the basic causes and triggers of depression, for example, financial loss, personal loss, or business loss. Via homoeopathic medicine, it stimulates the good hormones in the body, and once the hormones are elevated, the person will feel much happier and better.

Dr. Girish Tathed is strongly determined to spread the optimistic information and recognition about the progress of homoeopathy and how it treats patients with pain-free and gentle therapies.

  • First in India, 87-year-old undergoes bilateral knee replacement on the same day – Primex News Network

First in India, 87-year-old undergoes bilateral knee replacement on the same day – Primex News Network

Dr. Neeraj Adkar and his team at Pune’s Saishree Hospital perform the surgery using CUVIS, a fully automated joint replacement system.

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], May 227: In a first in India, an 87-year-old person underwent bilateral knee replacement surgery with the most advanced and fully automated robot on the same day at Saishree Hospital of Pune.

Dr. Neeraj Adkar, Managing Director & Chief Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon at Saishree Hospital in Pune, and his team performed the bilateral (both knees) robotic total knee replacement surgery on Sudhakar Panchwagh, 87, in a single sitting using a CUVIS-Fully Automated and Active Robotic joint replacement system.

The octogenarian’s primary complaint was a pain in both knee joints for the past 15 years. He was experiencing immense pain while walking and using stairs, which made even completing his daily routine activities a very painful task. He has suffered from deformity in both knees for the past ten years.

“We performed the bilateral knee replacement surgery on Mr. Panchwagh with the CUVIS robotic system, which uses CT scan images to create a patient-specific 3D bone model and perform virtual joint replacement surgeries simulations. With sub-millimetre dimensional accuracy, it aids in achieving the best post-surgery outcomes. The result is that Mr. Panchwagh could walk with assistance in less than 24 hours of the surgery. He also recovered well and was discharged in less than three days,” said Dr. Neeraj Adkar.

The CUVIS joint robotic technology provides advantages such as less tissue trauma and thus less associated blood loss, faster recovery, early hospital discharge, and the best possible implant positioning with maximum cutting accuracy.

Dr. Adkar said that while Mr. Panchwagh was medically fit for undergoing the bilateral knee replacement surgery, he said patients should not wait for so long for the surgery.

“It is better to undergo such surgeries at the right age instead of waiting till you are almost immobile. The recovery process takes more time with advancing age, and hence it is better to undergo surgery as soon as the problem is diagnosed,” he added.
