  • Late Naushad Saab Finds A Mention In World Book of Records,  Legendary Composer’s Son Raju Naushad Ali Receives The Award From Santosh Shukla and Usmaan Khan Of World Book Of Records

Late Naushad Saab Finds A Mention In World Book of Records,  Legendary Composer’s Son Raju Naushad Ali Receives The Award From Santosh Shukla and Usmaan Khan Of World Book Of Records

New Delhi (India), July 6: It’s for the first time in Indian Cinema’s history that the late legendary music composer Naushad Ali Saab finds recognition in the World Book of Records for his greatest contribution to the Indian Film industry.

Naushad Ali Saab’s son Raju Naushad Ali, also a music composer, received the award from Santosh Shukla and Usmaan Khan, President World Book of Records, on Sunday.

The late Naushad Saab’s bungalow, Ashiana, witnessed extended family members and well-wishers who stopped by to laud the World Book of Records for the honour bestowed on the late legendary music composer.

“I feel elated for my late father, Naushad Saab, being recognised by the World Book Of Records for his dedicated contribution to the Indian Cinema. It is a great honour, and I thank the World Book of Records for including my father’s name in it,” says Raju Naushad Ali, who was known for his musical composition for the epic teleserial Tipu Sultan.

Santosh Shukla from the World Book of Records says, “We at the World Book Of Records took this initiative of including the late legends who not only put in their soul but sacrificed their entire life in the Indian film industry with their priceless contribution. We want to merit their family members by including their names in the World Book Of Records. By doing this, we would like our younger generation to know about the late legends’ dedication to the Indian music industry. In the next six months, you will be surprised to know one more legendary name being included in the World Book of Records. “

Speaking about Naushad Saab’s fond memories, Raju Naushad Ali reminisces about his great father speaking about an incident when the late thespian Dilip Kumar Saab complained about not getting a chance to sing in any of his films.

“During the making of Dillagi, Dilip Saab wanted to sing a song. My dad handed over the mic and asked Dilip Saab to sing while Naushad Saab played the harmonium. After a while, my dad told Dilip Saab, ‘Aap sur achha pakad lete ho, par taal nahin mila paate’ (you have a good voice, but it does not go in rhythm with the music). Dilip Saab finally gave up,” shares Raju Naushad Ali, who says the song ‘Jab pyaar kiya toh darna kya’ from Mughal-E-Azam still remains an all time hit.

“My dad got the best from Mohammad Rafi Saab, another late legendary singer. Who can forget ‘Suhaani raat dal chuki’, from the hit Dulaari,” questions Raju Naushad Ali?

President of World Book of Records, Usmaan Khan, who forayed into the Indian film industry with his musical composition for the film ‘Gabru Gang’ and later came up with musical albums like ‘Rabba Mere Rabba’ and ‘Aye Khuda’ makes a point.

“It’s for the first time in the history of the Indian film industry that a late music composer finds a mention in the World Book Of Records and is awarded for the same. I have seen actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Kapil Sharma and the late singer Lata Mangeshkar, to name a few, fond a mention in the World Book of Records. It’s a privilege to do so, “says Usmaan Khan on a concluding note.

  • Paralympic Fencer Vibhas Sen and Jhatkaa.org come together for the inclusion of disability data in a national health survey

Paralympic Fencer Vibhas Sen and Jhatkaa.org come together for the inclusion of disability data in a national health survey

Paralympic Fencer Vibhas Sen and Jhatkaa.org come together for the inclusion of disability data in a national health survey

New Delhi (India), June 29: Paralympic fencer and disability rights activist, Vibhas Sen, has joined forces with Jhatkaa.org, a leading social justice advocacy organisation, to address the challenges of inadequate data collection on persons with disabilities. Together, they are calling for the inclusion of disability-related questions in the upcoming National Family Health Survey-6 (NFHS-6) conducted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Despite the enactment of the Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act in 2016, significant gaps persist in the collection of comprehensive data on individuals with disabilities. Recognising the pressing nature of this problem, Sen says it is crucial to find a solution and bridge this data gap.

The collection of accurate data plays a pivotal role in determining the allocation of funds for welfare schemes and programmes catering to persons with disabilities. The insufficient availability of funds has a deep impact on their day-to-day lives, limiting their access to necessary support systems and hindering their full participation in society.

“Through enhanced data collection, extensive research, and effective dissemination, we can ensure equal access to public provisions and spaces for people with disabilities. Data collection can also help in eradicating stereotypes and misconceptions, identifying service gaps, and evaluating the impact of policies and programmes on the lives of people with disabilities. These help us hold governments accountable for their commitment to people with disabilities,” said Sen.

Disappointingly, NFHS-6, scheduled to commence in a month, has excluded disability-related questions from its survey. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s official statement that “disability data won’t change fast” further compounds this neglect. Such exclusion perpetuates a narrow definition of disability and undermines the urgent need to address this issue.

To express his concern over this exclusion and challenge the normalisation of a limited perspective on disability, Sen has partnered with Jhatkaa.org. They are jointly demanding that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare incorporates disability-related questions in the survey, encompassing all disabilities listed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Sen and Jhatkaa.org believe in equality for all and are confident that by uniting the voices of compassionate citizens, they can bring about meaningful change. In order to amplify their demands and ensure they are heard; they urge citizens to show their support by signing the petition online https://bit.ly/3pjT2f9

  • Nick Cassidy Wins USA Formula E Race As Jake Dennis Takes Championship Lead – Round 12 – 2023 Southwire Portland E-PRIX

Nick Cassidy Wins USA Formula E Race As Jake Dennis Takes Championship Lead – Round 12 – 2023 Southwire Portland E-PRIX

Nick Cassidy, Envision Racing, 1st position, Jake Dennis, Avalanche Andretti Formula E , 2nd position, Antonio Felix da Costa, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team , 3rd position, Podium

Portland (Oregon) [USA], June 27: Envision Racing’s Nick Cassidy won an enthralling Southwire Portland E-Prix ahead of Avalanche Andretti Formula E Team driver Jake Dennis in second place, propelling the pair to the top of the world championship standings with Dennis leading Cassidy by a point. TAG Heuer Porsche’s António Félix da Costa finished third while just seven seconds split the first 17 cars at the flag.

Cassidy measured his race to perfection, starting from P10 on the grid as the 22-strong field jostled for superiority over the 32-lap race. It is the first time the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has raced at the famed Portland International Raceway, and Formula E’s unique balancing act between energy efficiency and the outright pace came to the fore.

The strategic battle for the top spot was clear from the opening lap as positions and race leaders changed corner by corner in groups five and six wide at points, resulting in 403 passes during the race.

Kiwi Cassidy led the way several times but got the better of da Costa, himself a race leader, on Lap 28 with the decisive move, only a few turns after the Portuguese had seized the initiative.

Cassidy first hit the front on Lap 3 while da Costa clambered through the pack from P8 to pile the pressure on the Envision Racing driver right to the flag but Cassidy held fast for a third win of Season 9.

Jake Dennis started in Julius Bär Pole Position and led the opening stages but couldn’t time his late-race charge as precisely as Cassidy, though he did manage to pass da Costa in the final lap to push the Portuguese into third.

Going into the race, Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) was leading the Drivers’ standings by just one point ahead of Dennis. The German was fortunate to escape contact and come home in ninth, just inside the points at the chequered flag. Wehrlein sits in third on 136 points, trailing the leading pair of Dennis and Cassidy with 154 and 153 points, respectively.

On his 29th birthday, Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) recovered from 20th on the grid to fourth – earning the ABB Driver of Progress Award for the most places gained in the race – and ensuring he remains in the title fight on 122 points with four races to come in Season 9.

Off the track, more than 20,000 attended the sold-out debut race for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Portland. Cheerleaders from the local NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, entertained fans, while first-year forward for the Trail Blazers Jabari Walker also enjoyed the race. Olympic champion skier Lindsey Vonn was embedded with the Jaguar TCS Racing team and experienced a high-speed electric lap of the track.

American rapper, singer and fashion designer Jaden Smith unveiled his own unique livery design on a Formula E GEN3 race car – the fastest, lightest, most powerful and most efficient electric race car ever built – in the Allianz Fan Village before the race.

    Jaden Smith said:

“I have such a connection with Formula E. I absolutely loved coming back for my second E-Prix, even more, being able to design my own GEN3 livery. It’s such an incredible platform to express myself and my passion for innovation. Seeing it come to life was unreal. I believe we all need to give back to the world and create our own sustainable future. That’s where Formula E is leading the charge. They prove it can be done in a thrilling way which showcases innovation, technology and outrageous racing. That’s really exciting to me. I’m all in. I can’t wait to be back.”

Nick Cassidy, No. 37, Envision Racing, said:

“It’s cool. I’ve had a good run in America the last couple of years. I love racing here. That race was fun. Look it’s close. The guys we’re racing are top. Jake did an amazing job in quali. I think he was unlucky to be starting on pole – today wasn’t the race to be doing that. And António in these races is always fantastic as well. It’s close, it’s fun, it’s Formula E.

“To be fair, I saw Mitch up with me at stages, I saw Seb, I saw Sam. And we all started far back. So credit to Jaguar and credit to Envision Racing. What a car, what a powertrain.”

Jake Dennis, No. 27, Avalanche Andretti Formula E, said:

“Yeah we had a good day. I think after the flag, I was a little bit disappointed just because of the way the race panned out. It was really, really difficult. Nevertheless, we got P2. There were some really difficult overtakes to be had. There are some guys fighting for the championship and other guys with nothing to lose. A race like today is all about risk. I just had to keep my powder dry and come home with an undamaged car, and I knew I could get a good result. To come home second, I think that’s three seconds in a row now, so I want to taste the win again in Rome. But we can be happy with a race like that – 400 overtakes – to come home with 18 points is good.

“Me and Nick are really fighting for the championship. It’s just who takes the most risk. Some of those moves on António were brave, and he did a really good job there. I obviously did António right on the last lap, and I just about got through. I’m looking forward to having that race behind me now and getting to Rome where it’ll be a bit more normal, and pole will actually be a benefit.”

António Félix da Costa, No. 13, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, said:

“When I came onto the track this morning, I was not expecting the turnout from all these guys. This is big. You guys like IndyCar. You like NASCAR. To see this support for Formula E is insane, so thanks for coming out. It’s really, really cool.

“I thought that was a great show, to be honest – there was a lot going on. For the team and for myself in the car, I thought that was the right moment to go out to the front, but it turns out Nick was just a tiny bit more clever than us today, and Jake got us there at the end as well. I’m happy. A podium is always awesome. A solid day for me and for the team today.

“Pascal – I’m not sure what’s going on now – but he was leading the championship going into the race. The goal was always to help him. I was waiting for him to come, and if he did come, I was going to be there to try to help him win this race. But I knew if he wasn’t there, then it was my turn to try to have a go at it, and that’s what we did. Unfortunately, we came just short, but it’s ok – a podium is always cool, and it’s going to be awesome to do it here with these guys.”

Rome is the next stop in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with a doubleheader of races on Saturday, 15 July and Sunday, 16 July – Rounds 13 and 14 in the 16-race season – before the finale in London two weeks later.

Balancing a full-time successful corporate career with a highly competitive bodybuilding fitness regime is definitely a challenge. To balance both fronts, a full-time demanding job and competition preparation were tricky at times; however, their drive for a better version and discipline kept her going.  Her focused approach, healthy lifestyle and belief in herself made it work through time.

Her typical day starts with early morning workouts: 2 hrs a day, and she hits the gym 6 days a week. Post-workout, she switches gears to her corporate life. A typical workday ends late at night, and then, while winding down for bed, she chalks out the work and workout plan for the next day.

She always endeavours to give her best consistently in whatever she pursues on the professional and personal front. She is greatly influenced by the Bhagwat Geeta: as it quotes, you are only entitled to the action, never to its fruits. Her Mission 2024 target is to play more games internationally to strengthen the Team India brand globally.

Additionally, the platform has since Nov 2022 garnered over 5800 registered users who have turned to the easy-to-use interface of MyBranz to glean valuable peer insights into their perspective purchases related to clothes, skincare and beauty products.

About the brand milestone, an elated Janani Kumar, Founder & CEO of MyBranz, said, “ We at MyBranz are thrilled to have clocked this growth trajectory. The traction we have generated over the past six months attests to the value we strive to create for the consumer by understanding that in a market inundated with numerous products from diverse brands, and advertisements everywhere, the layperson needs a helping hand to navigate. Moreover, the milestone not only validates and bolsters our relentless pursuit of developing a seamless product reviewing process and review consumption process, and creating a community of honest, reliable and informed consumers but also further encourages.”

The insights of the CEO and Founder, Janani Kumar, have driven the product launch and laudable growth figures, mainly because MyBranz has made a splash amongst a diverse user base in India. The founder, a proud holder of an MBA from the U.S. with an in-depth understanding of the global markets, draws from her alma mater to tap into the needs of various demographics who have benefited from her platform, mainly due to its user-centric approach.

The interface aside, the company’s unwavering commitment to incorporating user feedback to enhance the overall user experience is critical to MyBranz’s success. Moreover, complementing the unbiased reviews that benefit the customers, another appealing aspect of MyBranz is its series of customized product recommendations that reflect the buyers’ personality and consumption patterns and needs.

In an age of connected devices and hyper-digitalization, the recommendations are meant to save users the trouble of browsing the vast internet landscape for viable options. Further, as a cherry atop the cake, which the reviews and recommendations are, comes the unique opportunity of unlocking exciting deals, discounts and offers the trusted MyBranz brand partners offer.

While sharing her views on brand growth, CEO Janani Kumar outlined the brand vision and shared her motivation behind founding the company. Janani reflected, “ As a company, our foremost preoccupation is to think like the consumer. Only then can one truly create something valuable. Before MyBranz came into existence, when I used to try to buy products, especially online, I often found a mismatch between the promised user experience and the real feel of the product. This problem seemed universal, thus prompting the inception of our company which boasts an unbiased platform where fellow users help each other to figure out the complex process of online shopping that today’s saturated market presents. We hope that in the future, too, we grow by manifolds, learning from the constant feedback we receive, facilitating consumers in making informed, peer-reviewed purchases.”

All in all, the growth trajectory that MyBranz has clocked attests to its superlative brand value and continual consumer-centric efforts by the company’s core team. As a result, in the coming years, the platform targets further expanding its user base, boosting user engagement, and forging more strategic brand partnerships, toward becoming one of the most trusted product review platforms and user resources globally.
