    New Delhi (India), January 6: Japan International Cooperation (JICA) India, in collaboration with its implementation partner IJ Kakahashi Services Pvt Ltd. (IJK), has launched the “Achhi Aadat (Good Habit) Campaign (AAC)”. The campaign’s core objective is to introduce a simple and practical approach to hand hygiene such as proper methods of hand washing and nail-cutting practices amongst the population.

    For AAC 2022, JICA and IJK have partnered with the Department of Education – Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD). Further, GNCTD has a Friendship Exchange Agreement with Fukuoka Prefectural Government (FPG), Japan since 2007. Education being one of the fields of exchange between FPG and GNCTD, this time FPG also has extended its support to the AAC. Further Shabondama Soap Co. Ltd. a soap manufacturing company from Fukuoka has supported JICA’s AAC by sending 200 bar hand soaps through an FPG delegation visit to GNCTD.

    The delegation of six persons from FPG led by Mr. Ryuzo Yoshida, Director, Regional Affairs Division (FPG) and accompanied by Mr. Sanjay Panda, MD (IJK) had a courtesy visit to Shri Manish Sisodia, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Education Minister. The courtesy call with dinner was hosted by GNCTD at The Lodhi Hotel on 22nd December 2022, while Shri Sisodia graced the occasion.

    Mr. Panda appraised Shri Sisodia about the AAC and conveyed gratitude for the cooperation of the Department of Education in carrying out AAC sessions in 164 government schools in South and South East Delhi. Further Mr. Yoshida and Mr. Panda appraised Shri Sisodia about the FPG support to AAC and the cooperation of Shabondama Soap Co. Ltd., Fukuoka Prefecture by donation of the soaps. Shri Sisodia appreciated JICA and IJK for the AAC campaign in Delhi schools and FPG and Shabondama Co. More recently, the rebellion by Eknath Shinde has divided the Shiv Sena into two, further changing the political equations in the state and the region. In this situation, the right strategy and political acumen have become even more important, and this is where Adams, with his astute political sense, could be seen making a big difference.

    There was no comment about the interesting development from either side, but if sources are to be believed, both sides are expected to have further talks very soon.

    Even after his passing away, R. O. Patil continues to have a good influence over the local communities, which benefited a great deal from his work as a politician, businessman, farmer, philanthropist, and educationist. Vaishali Patil-Suryavanshi is seen benefiting from her late father’s legacy and works if she does take the political plunge. It has always been believed that she is keen to enter politics and carry on her father’s legacy.

Although many companies reimburse such health costs, many find it inconvenient to go to a doctor when it is not necessary. Furthermore, there are socioeconomic differences between urban women and women at lower economic levels. Domestic workers are more distressed in availing of health services; some often become victims of quacks.

    The advancing year comes with its own set of difficulties. There is an increased requirement for preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative services. However, these services aren’t provided at their doorstep. So older women often depend on their families or partners for transportation to access any healthcare facility. Sometimes traveling for them is a pain with their underlying condition adding to the difficulty of accessing healthcare services if we remove the concern of affordability. The problems for women at all stages are exacerbated by the patriarchal structure of society where the decision-making power lies with the male members, even if it comes to their women’s health. All the difficulties I mentioned above are not airtight to specific age groups but are experienced across age groups.

    Subsequently, these difficulties that I mentioned above are some examples of what I mean by disguised accessibility of healthcare services.

    Telemedicine can bridge this gap by ensuring the accessibility of healthcare professionals for all females in all age groups in urban areas. This can be guaranteed by providing evidence-based telemedicine services in schools, offices, and residential societies. However, it is impossible to physically make a doctor available 24/7 as well as it adds to the cost of an establishment. Nevertheless, telemedicine makes it possible to tackle both problems. It can make access to healthcare professionals easy, convenient, and cost-friendly for women so that women can have health security for their evolving health needs.
