    New Delhi (India), May 11: In an event hosted and organized by Maharashtra Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) under the auspicious occasion of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Babashaeb Ambedkar Birth Anniversary, A Women Safety Walk Marathi Manual and an animated video of Women’s Safety Walk was released and launched by Akshara Centre in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Madam, Yashomati Thakur, Mumbai Mayor Madam, Kishori Tai Pednekar, MAVIM Chairperson Madam, Jyoti Tai Thakare, MAVIM Managing Director Madam, Ms. Shraddhaa Joshi.

    In support of the initiative, Hon’ble Minister Women and Child Development Department Madam Yashomati Thakur very fondly expressed that “We want women of the city to be strong, safe, educated, and financially independent just like Savitri Bai Phule. But while focusing on that we must also think about creating more Jyoti Raophule’s in the society.  This process must begin right from childhood, just like parents teach girls what to do and what not to do, they must also teach boys what NOT to do! Only then there will be more Jyoti Rao’s in the society who will ensure a safe environment for many more women like Savitri Bai’s.”

    Mumbai Mayor, Kishori Pednekar and MAVIM Chairperson Madam Jyoti Thakare too congratulated MAVIM and Akshara to take this initiative ahead.

    In the larger conversation on Women Safety in association with MAVIM, Akshara Centre brought to light the need for gender inclusion and safety of women and girls from fear of violence free access to mobility.

    Dr. Nandita Shah, Co-Founder Akshara Centre expressed that, “on this auspicious day we are happy to launch the Marathi Women’s Safety Walk Manual and the animated video on women’s safety walk. We consider this as a campaign for Women’s Safety in Public Places. Today, we are hopeful that CMRC Managers and Sayogini’s of MAVIM who got trained as trainers will take the process ahead and this Women’s Safety Walk Manual will come handy for the effective implementation of women’s safety walks to be undertaken.”

    Over the last few years, Akshara Centre has worked tirelessly to empower women with their basic rights by providing solutions and initiatives that help them feel safe and secure. As a part of this initiative, Akshara has audited areas where women generally spend time or access despite feeling unsafe like college corridors, subways, railway stations, parks, footpaths, public toilets and initiated safety measures like cctv cameras, better lighting, security guards amongst many others.

    After speaking to women across demographics and age group the checklist is divided into physical features, social features and usage for the sake of convenience of analyzing the data. The manual gives insights into how an audit can be done, what measures can be taken by auditors in and around their neighborhood to classify it as safe for women.

    Dr. Shah further expressed that, it is a great collaboration with MAVIM and its thousands of saving and credit groups who have come together to be a ‘women’s safety auditors’. This campaign is driven with the motto of reaching women far and wide and encouraging them to access facilities without any restrictions or reservations.”

    The video for Safety Audit is available under the title Youth for a Safer City as a tool for safety walks that allows you to assess safety concerns in any public space and has effectively been used across many cities to create safe and inclusive cities.

     New Delhi (India), May 11: Prices of all varieties of raw cotton, which is a major raw-material for textiles & clothing products, has increased sharply since the last many months.  “The steep increase in the prices of raw cotton is a matter of deep concern for the entire value chain of cotton textiles such as home textiles and fabrics as it makes them uncompetitive in the export markets” said Shri Manoj Patodia, Chairman of The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council   (TEXPROCIL).

    As a result of the high raw cotton prices production costs for large , medium and small exporters have gone up to such an extent that export orders taken a few  months back or earlier could now be executed only at a loss, pointed out Shri Patodia.

    The Chairman, TEXPROCIL urged the Government to intervene in this matter urgently so that prices of raw materials remain stable and exporters of value added segments like home textiles and fabrics can take a long term perspective while negotiating export orders.

    The process to participate is simple and frill-free. The open-competition format for kids will ease the application process, and with simple fee payment, kids can submit their entries. The entries will then be posted on Bachpan’s social media where the child with the most likes will be crowned the winner of the competition. Students who display excellent creativity and great work will also be considered for the prizes.

    Bachpan is expecting 5,000 submissions nationwide and is looking forward to seeing the kids display their creativity. Dr. Aakanksha Gupta, the Vice President — of Media and Communication at Bachpan, said, “Competitions can be a positive experience for children if conducted the right way. We’ve taken several steps to ensure the children have fun and make friends along the way so that they can count creativity as a positive outlet.     Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 11Paydeer Services Private Limited, a digital payment platform company, has grown to become Rajasthan’s top fintech startup, with a network of over 550 distributors and 20,000 retailers in about 33 districts and 249 blocks.

    Paydeer Services, which was founded in 2017, has built a digital network throughout Rajasthan to enable even the smallest merchant to become digitally self-sufficient. Through the Paydeer app’s digital wallet, the firm offers banking and financial services such as AEPS, BBPS, Loan, Vehicle Insurance, Pan Card, M-POS, and Domestic Facility Money Send (DMR). Users can make bill payments and cash withdrawals from anywhere using a mini-ATM, as well as DTH recharge and bus, air, and rail ticket reservations.

    Paydeer is registered as a startup on startup India by Government of India in December 2021. Before that, it was  registered under Cybdeer network named LetsGo.

    “We have opened over a hundred Paydeer digital service distributor locations throughout 33 districts in Rajasthan.” said Paydeer’s founder and CEO, Vinod Parihar. “We have developed a network of over 550 distributors and 20,000 retailers across Rajasthan to reach the last of the stores in the state’s interior villages.”

    “Paydeer is a registered private limited company with 1200+ employees working dedicatedly to grow the company. We have over 900 Alliance Officers across the state work with the retailers who have E-Mitra, as well as any local store. Residents of Rajasthan can easily apply to open their store.”

    The company has launched a unique financial service for AEPS service customers. The customers can use their aadhar card to access their Aadhar-linked bank accounts and perform banking transactions including withdrawls, deposits, balance checks, mini-statements, inquiries and bank transfers using a secure biometric scanner.

    Paydeer Services has been awarded Biz Next, Indian Achievers’ Award, and Achievers of Women Environment award since its inception in 2021-22.

    A retailer from an interior village in Rajasthan said, “Earlier, people from my village used to stand in queue for hours to get the train tickets. Now, they visit my store to book train, bus, and flight tickets from the Paydeer website. I also help them transfer money, pay bills and recharge their DTH accounts. They no longer need to travel to the city for any financial or banking related services.”

    Dhruv Kapoor stated, “It is an honour for me to join the Government of India’s telecommunications department. Through my active participation, I will be working towards several telecommunications challenges and upliftment initiatives for the telecommunication department, particularly those in the interior regions, so that it will benefit the citizens of the country. Due to covid 19 pandemic, lockdown was imposed due to which schools were closed and students were studying online, Especially students from interior regions and villages faced problems of internet connectivity . As a member of TAC my first priority would be to make department of Telecommunications aware of providing access and proper connectivity in the interior regions and villages”.

    Telephone Advisory committee (TAC) is a high-level indian Government body comprising of Members of Parliament (MPs) and prominent figures who are directly appointed by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India to handle telecommunications concerns in India.

    Dhruv Kapoor is a Social Activist and the Chairman of the International Human Rights and Crime Control Council of India (NGO), Delhi State. He graduated from Delhi University with an honours degree in political science. He has also been the President of Student’s Union, University Of Delhi (Dyal Singh college).

    New Delhi (India), May 11: UFO has come on board to release the Hindi version of 777 Charlie across India. The film starring Rakshit Shetty is also produced by him along with GS Gupta while it marks the directorial debut of Kiranraj K. The Hindi trailer of the film will be unveiled on 16th of May.

    The heartwarming adventure comedy-drama originally in Kannada language, will also be released in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. While actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has acquired the film to release it in Malayalam, Karthik Subbaraj will be distributing the Tamil version and Rana Daggubati, the Telugu version of the film.

    The film will release theatrically on June 10 in all 5 languages.

    The earlier released teaser and few songs of the film have already garnered much appreciation.

    777 Charlie revolves around an arrogant, unapproachable man, Dharma, working in a manufacturing factory, whose lonely, mundane life is over-run by an enthusiastic dog, Charlie and changes him forever.

    “We are excited to be working with UFO as our distribution partner for the Hindi version. The decision of releasing the film pan India was made especially looking at increasing number of people adopting pets post lockdown.” Says Rakshit.

    UFO Moviez points out that this is the best time to release the film as theatres are operating to full capacity. “The OTT platforms have erased language barriers. 777 Charlie does not feel like a dubbed film in the four other languages. Given its universal subject and its canine hero, we are confident that the film will draw its audiences in every language,” says the spokesperson.

    777 Charlie also stars Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Bobby Simha, Sharvari and Praanya P Rao.

    Speaking at the event, Parth Vanjara, A Senior Analyst, of ALCOR CB M&A said, “ALCOR has seen India as a great destination to invest and to bring in a range of ‘cross-border’ deals to address the growth areas for Indian companies, through technology, investments, and new businesses. This JV, besides bringing in foreign earnings for India, will generate revenues for the state and increase employment for local population”.

    Allen D Souza, another Senior Analyst of ALCOR mentioned that ALCOR is one of the few companies that has brought in this kind of investment, post the covid recession. He mentioned that ALCOR is currently working on a very strong pipeline of cases that would bring in huge investments to India, meet the PLI schemes of the Govt, create phenomenal value to the Indian companies, the foreign companies and father create very high job opportunities for the people of India. ALCOR M&A, one of the Global M&A leaders, can have these Joint Ventures with equity and debt investments executed within four to six months across the globe.

    Manish Mundra, the Executive Director of Dewas Hydoquip, closed the event and stated that Dewas team is very happy to partner with Auto Metal and bring in “The State of the Art” technology for Emission Control Systems, which will be introduced through the JV for the Indian market and offers a high value to the customers in India and Asia. Backed by a huge outsourcing back to Europe, the JV would be self-sustainable from the beginning, and would aim to position its market leadership in India.
