Kiran Dembla – The Fitness Machine

India, September 22: Dr. Deepak Singh, a renowned filmmaker and producer, has recently bagged the rights to produce a biopic on Kiran Dembla- The Fitness Machine. The movie will be an adaptation of the book, which is based on the life of Kiran Dembla, written by the producer himself.

Kiran Dembla, who hails from Hyderabad, has made her mark and has shattered unconventional stereotypes about women in India. She is a world-famous bodybuilding champion, and she’s also a celebrity fitness trainer to actors like Taapsee Pannu, SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, and many other popular celebrities. While the courageous mother of two is being celebrated for her achievements today, she had to face tough challenges throughout her life for choosing the path which is less travelled by women. The story focuses on her journey from a housewife to a bodybuilder and fitness trainer.

For every woman in India who is trying to explore her identity and be something more than just a housewife or a mother, the stereotypical thought process of the patriarchal society makes their path more challenging. It is extremely tough for Indian women to pursue careers in the field of sports or bodybuilding – a space that has been stereotypically dominated by men over the years. Talking about his upcoming movie, producer and writer, Dr. Deepak Singh said, “I have already made four biopics, and people like Kiran Dembla inspire me to write and produce more such films. Dr. Deepak Singh is a renowned filmmaker and producer and is the owner of Galaxy Entertainment. Apart from that, he is a noted writer and established content creator with more than 15 years of experience in content creation, and he recently penned another book ‘Bravo Yadav’ which is the biography of Honorary Captain Yogendra Jadav Ji PVC, who is India’s youngest Paramveer Chakra recipient and has survived the battle of Kargil War. Dr. Deepak Singh has also produced the critically acclaimed Hindi feature film Soorma directed by Shaad Ali and stars Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu, and Angad Bedi in prominent roles under the banner of SONY PICTURES and CS FILMS. The film Soorma is a 2018 Indian Biographical sports drama based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh. 

Dr. Singh has also produced a Hollywood movie, Tiger, with Sir Mickey Rourke and Janel parish in collaboration with R3M Canada and partnered with JK Liv In foundation (Matthew Mc Conaughey) to promote it worldwide. This film is based on the Human Rights subject, and it was a big hit. He also produced the film ‘The Bad President’ based on the life of Sir Donald Trump, in collaboration with Young and Free Films LA. Recently Mr. Dr. Singh has written and directed a short film based on the emotional Bonding of Brother and Sister called ‘Raksha Day Every Day.’

Chennai, September 20: Engaging audiences in a slick, never-seen-before, entertaining youth format is what Bollywood filmmaker and show host Karan Johar pulled off with the opening sequence of Koffee with Karan Season 7 on national television. Looking for a fresh, new approach to the opening sequence made Karan Johar’s team turn down South for creative direction. This task was successfully undertaken by Chennai-based renowned agency Whoa Mama Design.

Excited about the show project, Anek Ahuja, Co-Founder and Business Head of Whoa Mama Design, reveals some inside news, “Karan Johar gave us a concept as a starting point for the film, and from there, we fleshed it out into a kick-ass script that Karan was also happy to have as an opening sequence to the Koffee with Karan Season 7. In fact, to begin with, we were pleasantly surprised when Karan Johar’s team members, including Aneesha Baig, Jahnvi Obhan and Snehal Ahire, reached out to us based on the work they had seen on our agency’s official website. It was a first for us, and we have been very involved and hands-on about this project.”

Shaun D’sa, Co-Founder & Creative Head, Whoa Mama Design agency, revealed the design process. He said, “Karan Johar is a natural and shooting with him was a pleasure. On the day of the shoot, we required less than a few hours for him to nail every single micro-expression and look. To get the nitty-gritty details right, we spent a lot of time with our director, Rohit Prabhu, planning and conceptualizing everything from the flow of the set to the choreography of the sequence. While the script in itself was simple – it was just an almost seamless shot of Karan rolling up to the red carpet in a fancy car and interacting with his peers, friends and other celebrities on red carpet in his customary style – we had to create an aura of the excitement, hype, gossip, fashion and style that is synonymous with the show.”

As audiences ask for more and more from this iconic show, Koffee with Karan, Seasons 7 is back with a youthful bang. The title sequence was conceptualized by Karan Johar, produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and creatively directed and shot by Chennai-based branding, communications and design agency – Whoa Mama Design. Starting from mood boards for set design – to planning the costumes – to hair and make-up looks, casting and auditioning, the entire project was ably helmed by Whoa Mama Design.

The very first episode of the show created a buzz over social media. Interestingly, the last six seasons of this show were aired over a period of 17 years. Mumbai, September 20: The writer Dhiraj Mishra has come a long way with his writing skills and love for freedom fighters and their stories. He is known for his biopic films. But as everyone wants versatility in their portfolio, he is also one of them. He is coming up with a real story which is unconventional but something that the world needs to know. Everyone knows about Afzal Guru, the one who had attacked the parliament, but nobody knows about his family. Dhiraj is bringing the story of Afzal Guru’s son Gaalib who had secured 4th position in his high school examination. It is quite ordinary for most people, but for Gaalib, it is not, says Dhiraj. Gaalib will hit the theatre on 23rd Sep 2022.

In an unconventional family where the father is a declared terrorist, what suffers a son and a wife go through every day even though they are not involved in any such activity? They also must face abuse from society and the media.

Gaalib is one such film which will give you goosebumps. The pain and suffering of innocent people, on the one hand, and on the other, the zeal to study and become a civilized citizen is quite rare. The son should not be punished for the mistake of the father, says Dhiraj.

Talking about the journey of Gaalib, he said Filming a real story is always challenging and time-consuming because every incident is connected to another one, and to link that, you need to find the lost pieces of the puzzle. It feels so satisfying to join all the links. During my journey, I met many journalists and social workers who were imprisoned. I got some information from them and started preparing my script. I have also added many fictional incidents in the script as Kashmir has always been in controversies with Afzal. As a responsible writer, I also had to deal with the challenge that the film should stay away from controversies, although people deliberately added such spices to make the film more interesting.

I always try to be more than a writer for my film. I also participate in the production of the film, which includes casting, location, costumes, screening, editing etc. Everything goes through my eyes. The character of Afzal’s wife was very important in the film, and for this, I wanted a face who could do justice to it. My search was completed in the form of Dipika Chikkhalia.

The hunt for Gaalib’s character in the film ends at Nikkhil Pitaley. The character demanded a silent and well-educated child who must face the scorn of society. Dipika Chikhalia was a household name and gathered fame as Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. It was contradictory for people to take up this news of her playing the role of a terrorist’s wife. It was feared that people would oppose it and did so when the news of the film came that she was becoming a wife of a terrorist in Gaalib. During that news breakout, we faced a lot of hatred and abuse from social media, and I became uncomfortable because before this, I had made a film on such great revolutionaries who had dedicated everything to the country, and I was always praised whether it was Lal Bahadur Shastri’s film in Jai Jawan Jai Kisan or Chapekar Brothers of Pune.

Gaalib was like a biopic, but the topic was controversial. But I was sure my script would make people emotional. It is purely a film based on a mother-son relationship to awaken the love of the country. Like any other film, Gaalib is special to me as, as it is the beginning of a non-biographical movie journey of mine. Under the banner of Giriva Productions film Gaalib is produced by Ghanshyam Patel and co-written by Yashomati Devi.

The upcoming Javeeda music video is a mix of innocence combined with the beauty of Kashmir, synchronized to create the story of the charming lovers it narrates.

September 19: Not long ago, we’d heard that Bigg Boss contestant Jasleen Matharu (who created fireworks in BB with her guru Ghazal Samrat Anup Jalota) was dating actor Abhinit Gupta, popularly known as Dr Bollywood. Hailing from Bhopal, Abhinit is a renowned cosmetologist and trichologist and also famous as Bollywood’s anti-aging expert.

Abhinit and Jasleen were known to have a lil whirlwind romance for a couple of months, but then had a breakup. So it may not be much of a surprise that the gal who is going to play Abhinit’s love interest in his next music video titled Javeeda (meaning eternal), is not Jasleen. But the big revelation is that Abhinit’s co-star in the video is actually another Bigg Boss contestant, Lokesh Kumari Sharma.

To be released on Zee Music in a few days, the song is written by Sahil Fatehpuri and has soulful music by Avik Dojan Chatterjee, who has also sung the number with high-pitched fervour.

Directed by Rufy Khan, who has won several awards, including one from the New York Peace International Film Festival, Javeeda is shot in Kashmir, where the director also hails from.

According to a report in News Features, Rufy informs, “The video is a mix of innocence combined with the beauty of Srinagar, synchronized to create the story of the charming lovers it narrates. The lush green valley tapered with snow creates a breath-taking backdrop, normally only seen in big budget Bollywood movies.”

When asked about Dr Abhinit having dated Jasleen in the past and now working with Lokesh Kumari, Rufy smiles and says, “Its only a coincidence that both Jasleen and Lokesh have been in Bigg Boss. But yes, come to think of it, Abhinit Gupta is now sandwiched between a Bigg Boss past and present; real and reel life.”

Actor Abhinit says, “This video happened to me at a time when I was going through a situation in my life.” Without letting us in on what mysterious ‘situation’ he is talking about, he adds, “The video and the shoot in Kashmir soothed my heart and gave me peace of mind.”

Putting in a special word for Rufy and Lokesh Kumari, the actor adds, “Rufy is a very artistic and perceptive director and has done a great job on the video, while Lokesh Kumari has been an extremely professional and talented actress to work with.”

Word has it that the Bigg Boss-contestant-turned-actress has undergone a complete makeover for the video and looks stunning in Javeeda. “That’s true,” admits Abhinit, but says that director Rufy has asked him to keep that part under wraps for the moment. “So I won’t talk about it till the video is released. All I’ll say is that her new glam avatar will completely surprise her fans and everyone who has seen her in Bigg Boss. She is totally a new package in the project,” remarks Abhinit.

For the record, Dr Abhinit Gupta is no ordinary guy. He is a super achiever, having won many awards for his medical and acting achievements and also for exemplary work in social welfare. In fact, he’s been awarded by the who’s who of India, including former President Pranab Mukherjee, Former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor and Bollywood actresses Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor.

September 19: Those singers who are determined to make it big with their singing skills and potential cannot be tamed from achieving inevitable success. There are very few musicians who make a name for themselves among the top musicians in the Indian Punjabi music industry with their debut music. One such name that has been ringing in the ear of Punjabi audiences and made a place for his music in the hearts of his audiences is Gurpreet Chattha.

Born to a Jatt Sikh family in the village of Dharamgarh District Sangrur, Punjab, Gurpreet Chattha, the rising Punjabi singer, lyricist, composer, and actor of Indian Punjabi origin strongly believes in the saying, ‘My voice is my identity.’ Living true to these words to this very day, this popular Punjabi soulful singer and heartthrob rose to fame with his hit Punjabi track with Sony Music, ‘Guzaara’, in 2014.

The ‘Joon Fakran Di’ song has been sung by Gurpreet as well as he is attributed with creating a marvellous screenplay, story writing, composing along with the direction of the video presentation. The song has seen good organic growth. It has received 21 million views on YouTube and over 20,000 comments, and the channel has gained over 1.5 lakh subscribers. 2.5 lakh reels have been created on the song on Instagram

Gurpreet Chattha has completed his graduation in music. He has been a highly active participant in various inter-school college competitions since the start. After completing his graduation, despite all the odds, he moved to Mohali in Punjab with dreams of becoming a renowned Punjabi singer in the Punjabi music industry. He certainly has come a long way since then.
