Ahmedabad, July 21: The Pride Kingdom, a 12-episode series produced by wildlife enthusiast and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shri Parimal Nathwani, captures the untold stories of the Pride of India – the Asiatic Lions and their only abode Gir, Gujarat. The series, filmed in Gujarat’s Gir forest in a span of a few weeks, beautifully captures myriads of moods of this majestic animal. Produced by Parimal Nathwani, the series capture stunning insider accounts of Gir Lions and their abode.

The series is a result of Mr. Nathwani’s inspiration from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and the Project Lion – an initiative by the Government of India. As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi’s endeavours to conserve and promote Gir lions were unabated. Also, now as the Prime Minister of India, he is passionately committed to reinvigorating his contributions towards the Gir lions.

The stunning insider account of lions’ lives in Gir has been filmed for the first time ever. It’s fascinating to see how the only two identical twin Asiatic lions, the Bhuriya Brothers, the protagonists of the story, go about taking control of their territory. The series captures the dread in both a leopard and other animals in one episode, demonstrating how the lion is the ruler of the jungle. An uncommon occurrence in the history of any wildlife species or the jungle, the series also discusses the behaviour of lions and their interaction with humans.

It emphasises the raising of the young cubs and the training given to them to hunt by the queen of Gir. Additionally, it demonstrates how the lioness puts her life in danger to defend her cubs, serving as the ideal mother and role model. It also highlights the unique “Lion Hospital,” a facility built with cutting-edge amenities to care for the majestic animal.

Talking about the documentary Shri Parimal Nathwani, Director (Corporate Affairs) at Reliance Industries Limited, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and wildlife enthusiast, said, “I have been visiting Gir for more than 35 years on a regular basis. What attracts me is the royal nature of Asiatic Lions. Gir in Gujarat is the only abode of Asiatic Lions globally. Though thousands of tourists visit Gir every year, it has still not gotten enough attention at national and international levels. The aim of this documentary is to tell the untold stories of Asiatic Lions in Gir.”

Mr. Parimal Nathwani tried to discover the wonders of nature and wildlife, and this series shows how the Gir Jungle is the ideal habitat for lions. The viewers will enjoy learning about the history of the royal lions in this special episode, which says a lot about why lions are so revered in our mythology, culture, and numerous languages. Mr. Parimal Nathwani started his mission 35 years ago without any assistance, and he persistently persuaded himself and the locals to work towards the betterment of the Gir forest and its pride, “Lions”. Since then, he has been taking up various issues to protect the lions of the Gir forest with the help of forest officials, trackers, maldharis, and the people of the area.

It is the result of Gujarat’s noble and collective efforts that today the ‘kingdom’ of lions has spread far beyond Gir National Park, Gir Sanctuary, and Greater Gir to the Revenue Area.

The Central Government, under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, has already approved an Rs. 1000 crore fund for Project Lion, to be allotted by December 2022. During his visit to Gir National Park in May 2022, Union Minister of Environment and Climate Change Shri Bhupendra Yadav asked the Gujarat State Forest Department officials to prepare a road map that can sustain the Lions’ habitat for the next 25 years.

July 20: The concept teaser of the upcoming Bollywood feature The Lipstick Boy was released yesterday on the official social media handle of the film from Mumbai. The movie is based on Bihar’s cultural Launda Naach. The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar shared a teaser on his Twitter & Facebook and congratulated the team.

It is worth mentioning that in the Bhojpuri region, Naach and Bhikhari Thakur have been synonymous with each other. India has a rich tradition of folk drama genres. Launda Naach is the most extreme form of expression and entertainment for the peasant labourers of that rural and town society. However, in the current changing environment and entertainment culture, there has been a decrease in the number of performances.

The film, The Lipstick Boy, is about a famous Launda dancer from Bihar, Kumar Uday Singh, who has been bringing alive the style of Launda dance for the last several years, as well as the life struggles of all the artists of Bihar who are associated with this style.

While congratulating the success of the film, Honourable Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad said that by producing (Deepak Sawant & Nikunj Shekhar) this film, Directed by Abhinav Thakur had made a meaningful effort to revive the folk culture and traditions of Bihar. The movie is an achievement for the state and a matter of pride. He said that Amitabh Bachchan Ji, the megastar of the century, has also appreciated this film.

He wished the film success and blessed producer Abhinav Thakur for his bright future.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 16: After the massive success of his last track, Sorry, Daniel Weber is all set to release his new song Lose Somebody. Penned and performed by him, the song has its Bass Guitar rendered by Vivian D’Souza with Piano/ Organ by Vatan Dhuriya and Drums by Jigar Shah. The producer Jehangir did some excellent work on the number. The song was done at Island City Studio.

Weber tells us, “It’s a single we have been working on for many months. It’s the first single released under my solo work – under Daniel Weber. The song captures the pain and heartache of losing somebody in life in a breakup. The grief of death too. We shot for the music video in Los Angeles. The song was recorded in Mumbai, but it was mixed and mastered in Nashville by Anthony Fox.”

Director James Thomas shot for the video, who had previously also shot Sorry. “He captured the emotions I go through after my girlfriend in the video dies from an illness. This song is released independently under Sun City’s label.”

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 15: Earlier this year, the Punjabi film Saunkan Saunkne, produced by Jatin Sethi of Naad Sstudios, made waves across the country thanks to its terrific word of mouth and blockbuster box office collections. The comic caper, starring Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira, was released on May 13, 2022, distributed by Zee Studios and became a record grosser. After tasting super success, Naad Sstudios is back with a bang. This time, it’s the Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s much-awaited upcoming Tamil film, backed by Zee Studios and Trident Arts.

As expected, the makers released the announcement video on Tuesday, July 12, and it got a roaring response. Though the makers haven’t announced the film’s title or storyline, there’s already enough excitement and anticipation for the movie.

This untitled film will be directed by Nilesh Krishnaa and stars Sathyaraj (of Baahubali fame), Jai and Redin Kinsley, among others. The project was launched with a low-key pooja ceremony attended by the film’s lead cast and crew.

Jatin Sethi says, “ After tasting such historic success with Saunkan Saunkne, we are venturing into Tamil cinema with this movie, a new territory for us, but we are thrilled. And having Nayanthara on board is delightful.  It’s an extraordinary project, and viewers will surely relate to and enjoy our protagonist’s journey. We can’t wait to start shooting this film. It’ll be something to watch out for .”

Shariq Patel, Chief Business Officer, Zee Studios, is also quite pumped about this project, “Zee believes in backing all kinds of interesting subjects, in different regions and languages. We are proud to come on board for this film. We were hoping Nayanthara would take up the project, and we were excited once she did. She’s apt for this part and also one of the biggest actors today in India.”

Finally, director Nilesh Krishnaa exults, “I feel extremely happy, blessed, and grateful for the opportunity. It is also very surreal to acknowledge Mrs Nayanthara, the one and only Lady Superstar, who will lead this project as its protagonist.”

Nayanthara’s 75th film will go on floors in August this year. The makers will announce the title of the film soon. The film is expected to release sometime next year in cinemas.

July 12: The upcoming Hindi film Haryana’s trailer has been launched in Mumbai. Actor turned director  Sandeep Baswana,  Yash Tonk, Ashlesha Savant, Robbie Marih, Monica Sharma, and Aakarshan Singh were present at the launch.

Haryana is a story of 3 brothers. Mahender is the eldest brother, and Jaibeer, the second brother, studies in Hisar. Jugnu is the youngest one who is spoiled with the love and comforts of a normal 20-year-old. All 3 brothers fall in love and that’s the foundation through which the story unfolds. Jugnu is a movie buff. That’s his passion and only love. He’s happy living in the village with his 3 best friends lazing and frolicking through life as long as he gets to watch Hindi movies. On one such day for the first time when he watches an Alia Bhatt movie, his innocent heart falls in love with Alia Bhatt. From then onwards, the story takes a twist and turns and how Mahender does everything to protect and give utmost importance to his brother’s feelings.

At the trailer launch, the director Sandeep Baswana quoted that for authenticity it was extremely crucial to justify the true love of an innocent boy.  The team had to wait and follow all the protocols required for the same. Haryana is a romantic comedy, yet it also shows the brotherly bonding and love between the brothers. It’s a sweet, romantic comedy. The cast and crew hope the audience will also give love and support to the film.
