  • Prateek Kuhad Releases New Single ‘Blush’, Announces Third Studio Album ‘Full Moon Chamber’

Prateek Kuhad Releases New Single ‘Blush’, Announces Third Studio Album ‘Full Moon Chamber’

Singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad has released his first single, “Blush,” from his upcoming album Full Moon Chamber, scheduled for release on July 10 via Atlantic Records. The single is accompanied by an official music video.

Blush” leads with a softly driven guitar riff. “It’s that heady feeling of infatuation that comes with meeting somebody and falling for them hard,” Kuhad says.

Full Moon Chamber is Kuhad’s third studio album, his first since The Way That Lovers Do (2022). Created between New York and Los Angeles, the project explores themes of love, identity, and emotional transformation, capturing a period of both personal and artistic evolution.

“I went through a lot of uncertainty for a couple of years. The music industry changed. A lot changed for me personally as well. But through it all, I ended up finding a part of myself that I had lost. The album follows that arc,” Kuhad said.

L.A.-based producer Nick Ruth (Kelly Clarkson, Bakar, Lauren Spencer Smith) shaped the project into a cohesive whole, refining Kuhad’s recordings with various collaborators into a unified sonic vision.

Full Moon Chamber is currently available for pre-order ahead of its worldwide release on July 10.

  • Tasveer Hosts the Only Official South Asian Panel on the Main Stage of Cannes Du Marche

Tasveer Hosts the Only Official South Asian Panel on the Main Stage of Cannes Du Marche

Panel to bring together leading voices across film, technology, and programming on the Cannes main stage

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 14: Tasveer, the Academy Award-recognized platform at the forefront of South Asian storytelling, is making history at Cannes. On May 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM, Tasveer will take the main stage at the Marché du Film with “Reimagining Global Pathways and Financing for Stories That Travel” the only official South Asian event at the world’s most prestigious film festival. This is not just a panel. It is a declaration that South Asian cinema belongs at the center of the global conversation. Bringing together trailblazers from cinema, technology, and film markets, the session will ignite a bold new dialogue on international co-production, financing, and the transformative role of AI in scaling culturally rooted storytelling across borders.

Moderated by Rita Meher, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Tasveer, the panel brings together a powerhouse lineup: Arathi Sethumadhavan, User Research Scientist, Technology & Society at Google; Anjana Gopakumar, Co-Founder and Executive Director of South Stack Studios; and Guneet Monga Kapoor, Academy Award-winning producer, Founder of Sikhya Entertainment and Jaime Otero, VP of Partnerships at Parrot Analytics. Together, they represent the creative, technological, and entrepreneurial forces reshaping what South Asian cinema can achieve on the world stage.

Sponsored by Google and Shivam Gupta Casting, the session marks a pivotal moment, where the creative power of South Asian storytelling meets the technology and industry infrastructure to take it global.

South Asian cinema is no longer waiting for a seat at the table, it is building its own. The panel will tackle the urgent questions facing the next generation of filmmakers: How do you access global financing and distribution networks? How do you forge co-production partnerships that actually move projects forward? And how is AI changing the game for independent creators working across languages, cultures, and markets?

Expect sharp, unfiltered conversation on: independent storytelling in the global marketplace; breaking open international co-production and financing pathways; AI as a creative and economic force in film production; winning festival and market strategies that get projects noticed; and building the kind of global industry networks that last.

Rita Meher, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Tasveer, said, “At Tasveer, our vision has always been to inspire social change through thought-provoking South Asian films, art, and storytelling. As global audiences increasingly seek authentic, diverse narratives, it is imperative that South Asian voices are not only represented but are shaping the discourse. This panel is a step towards redefining global pathways where creators, platforms, and technology converge to unlock new opportunities, challenge stereotypes, and position South Asian cinema as a powerful force in the international cultural landscape.”

Arathi Sethumadhavan, User Research Scientist at Google, added, “We are at an inflection point where AI is not just enhancing creativity but fundamentally reshaping the economics and accessibility of filmmaking. In markets like South Asia, where scale and diversity are unmatched, AI is enabling faster production cycles, multilingual storytelling, and new forms of experimentation. The opportunity now is to ensure these technologies are used responsibly, augmenting creators, expanding access, and enabling more culturally nuanced stories to travel globally.”

Guneet Monga Kapoor, Academy Award-winning producer and founder of Sikhya Entertainment, said, “We are witnessing a decisive shift where authentic, culturally rooted stories are no longer peripheral but central to the global content landscape. For South Asian cinema, the opportunity lies in building stronger co-production frameworks and trusting stories that are deeply local yet universally human. Platforms like this are critical in connecting creators with the right partners, capital, and markets, ensuring that powerful stories are not limited by geography, but are positioned to travel, compete, and resonate on a truly global stage.”

Tasveer has long been the force opening doors for South Asian creators connecting them to global industry networks, mentorship, and the market access that turns vision into reality. This moment at Cannes is the latest, and most visible, proof of that mission in action.

Tasveer is a Seattle-based non-profit arts organization committed to amplifying South Asian films, art, and storytelling globally. Driven by a mission to inspire social change through culturally rooted narratives, Tasveer supports filmmakers through its film festival, market initiatives, grants, and year-round programming. By providing mentorship, industry access, and global platforms, Tasveer enables creators to take projects from development to international distribution, while championing underrepresented voices and fostering cross-cultural exchange.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 8: In a historic musical moment, Indian recording artist Vineet Singh Hukmani has become the first artist in the world to create a licensed tribute to the 50th anniversary of the song Hotel California – the legendary 1976 hit that has defined generations of music lovers.

This milestone release follows a landmark year for Hukmani, whose series of licensed “Re-Imagined Classics” has already set a global precedent. Earlier in the year, he became the first artist worldwide to officially release licensed tribute versions of Michael Jackson’s ThrillerBillie Jean, and Beat It—ahead of the highly anticipated and successful movie biopic Michael

These unique releases have positioned Hukmani as a pioneer in respectfully reinterpreting timeless music for progressive audiences. Now, he turns his creative lens to Hotel California, re-imagining the iconic track in a bold, contemporary hip-hop style infused with Indian musical elements such as tabla and sitar. The new version elevates the song into an anthemic experience, while staying true to the emotional depth and lyrical brilliance that have made it so universally loved.

Vineet Singh Hukmani said, “It is a pleasure and an honor to recreate a song that almost every musician learns to play as soon as they hold a guitar. I am happy to present this renewed version with an Indian lens in an anthemic hip-hop style. The Eagles were, are, and will always be a formidable force in the history of global music.”

    Vineet Singh Hukmani

Hukmani’s “Re-Imagined Classics” series extends beyond this release, with tributes to globally celebrated artists and bands, including already released tributes to DefLeppard, Scorpions, Bobby McFerrin, and upcoming ones to George Michael, Whitney Houston, Whitesnake, The Doors, Phil Collins, and more scheduled for release through 2026. Hotel California and its other re-imagined releases can be heard here: https://vineet.today/reimagined

Reflecting on his prolific output this year, he adds: “I am grateful to be able to do my English originals and additionally be contracted, by my agent, to do these re-imagined English classics. This year, an agency in India has also chosen me to release my first Hindi and Punjabi singles. It is an exciting year to be able to create in so many varied genres and languages.”

Known for seamlessly navigating across musical styles, Hukmani’s diverse catalog—spanning pop, hip-hop, rock, blues, house, and global fusion—has consistently topped world radio charts across genres. His versatility and fearless artistic exploration have earned him the title of a true “genre chameleon.” With this tribute to Hotel California, Vineet Singh Hukmani not only celebrates a musical milestone but also redefines how classics can be experienced by new generations—bridging eras, cultures, and sounds with authenticity and innovation.

  • The Infinite Scroll War: When Streaming Won The Audience… But Lost The Math

The Infinite Scroll War: When Streaming Won The Audience… But Lost The Math

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 6: There’s a certain elegance to the chaos of modern streaming. Open any platform, and you’re greeted with an avalanche—new shows, louder trailers, bigger promises. Stories don’t arrive anymore; they compete for survival.

And yet, beneath this glossy abundance lies a slightly inconvenient truth.
    The audience is winning.

The platforms? Still negotiating with their balance sheets.
Because while content is everywhere, profit is… selectively present.

    The Era Of Endless Releases

At the centre of this beautifully orchestrated frenzy are giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+.

Their current strategy is almost poetic in its simplicity:

    • Release more content
    • Retain more subscribers
    • Expand global reach

    Which translates into:

    • Big-budget series dropping monthly
    • Franchise universes are expanding endlessly
    • Weekly releases designed to keep audiences… occupied

Because nothing retains attention quite like never letting it rest.

The Backstory: How We Got Here

This didn’t begin as a war.

    It began as an alternative.

    • Streaming platforms emerged as convenient substitutes for traditional television
    • Subscription models offered ad-free viewing
    • Content libraries provide on-demand access

    And then, inevitably, competition intensified.

    • New platforms entered the market
    • Exclusive content became a differentiator
    • Budgets escalated

What started as innovation became… escalation.

    The Economics Of Excess

Let’s talk numbers—because the scale is difficult to ignore.

    • Major streaming platforms collectively spend over $120 billion annually on content
    • Individual flagship series can cost $10–20 million per episode
    • Global subscriber bases range from hundreds of millions

    For instance:

    • Netflix has consistently allocated tens of billions yearly for content
    • Amazon has invested heavily in large-scale productions and ecosystem expansion
    • The Walt Disney Company continues to leverage franchises across its platforms

    Impressive? Absolutely.
Sustainable? That’s where things become… interesting.

The Positive Case: A Golden Age For Viewers

    Let’s acknowledge the obvious advantage.
For audiences, this is arguably the best era in entertainment history.

    • More content than ever before
    • Diverse genres and storytelling styles
    • Global access to international productions

From a PR perspective, it’s almost flawless.

    Platforms can claim:

    • Innovation
    • Accessibility
    • Creative expansion

And to be fair, they’re not entirely wrong.

    The Slightly Less Glamorous Truth

Of course, abundance has its complications.

    Profitability Challenges

    • High production costs
    • Fluctuating subscriber growth
    • Increasing competition

    Content Saturation

    • Too many releases are competing for attention
    • Shorter content lifecycles
    • Reduced long-term impact

    Audience Fatigue

    • Decision paralysis
    • Decreased engagement with individual titles

Because when everything is available, nothing feels essential.

    The Strategy Behind The Madness

Streaming platforms aren’t just producing content.
    They’re engineering engagement.

    • Algorithms recommend personalized viewing
    • Release schedules are strategically timed
    • Content is designed for binge consumption

    It’s not just entertainment.
    It’s a retention strategy.

    The Sarcasm (Because It’s Earned)

There’s something almost admirable about the persistence.
Spend billions. Release everything. Hope something sticks.

Because clearly, the solution to too much content is… more content.
    Brilliant.

    The Franchise Obsession

One noticeable trend is the reliance on established universes.

    • Spin-offs
    • Sequels
    • Expanded storylines

    Why?

    Because familiarity reduces risk.
    Originality is appreciated.

    Predictability is profitable.
Or at least, it’s supposed to be.

    The Global Expansion Factor

    Streaming isn’t limited by geography.

    • Platforms are investing heavily in international content
    • Regional productions are gaining global audiences
    • Localization strategies are becoming essential

    This creates:

    • New opportunities for creators
    • Broader audience engagement
    • Increased cultural exchange

    But also:

    • Higher operational complexity
    • Greater financial pressure

    The Innovation Trade-Off

Every strategic decision comes with consequences.

    Pros:

    • Unprecedented content availability
    • Opportunities for diverse storytelling
    • Technological advancements in distribution

    Cons:

    • Unsustainable spending models
    • Reduced content longevity
    • Increasing reliance on data-driven decisions

    It’s not a collapse.
    It’s a balancing act.

The Bigger Pattern: Attention As Currency

In the streaming ecosystem, attention is everything.

    • Subscriber retention drives revenue
    • Engagement metrics influence production
    • Visibility determines success

Which means content isn’t just created.
    It’s calculated.

The Industry Reality: Winning The Audience, Losing The Margin?

    Here’s the paradox:

    • Platforms are winning viewership
    • Content quality is improving
    • Global reach is expanding

    And yet:

    • Profit margins remain uncertain
    • Costs continue to rise
    • Competition intensifies

It’s a rare scenario where success doesn’t immediately translate into profitability.

    The Future: Consolidation Or Reinvention?

Looking ahead, a few possibilities emerge:

    • Platforms may reduce content volume
    • Subscription models could evolve
    • Consolidation between services may increase

Because eventually, even the most ambitious strategies encounter reality.
And reality tends to ask inconvenient questions.

The Final Thought: When Entertainment Becomes Endless

Streaming has transformed how stories are told, distributed, and consumed.

    It has:

    • Democratized access
    • Expanded creative possibilities
    • Redefined audience expectations

But it has also introduced a new challenge.
    Sustainability.

Because in a world where content is infinite, attention is finite.
    And profitability?

    Still… under negotiation.
