  • Tanveer Mir, the cinematographer of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, delves into how a color palette can elevate or derail the visual language of a film

Tanveer Mir, the cinematographer of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, delves into how a color palette can elevate or derail the visual language of a film

New Delhi [India], July 18: As a cinematographer, there’s always a storm of thoughts running through your head. From the moment you read the script to the time you’re on set, there’s a constant inner struggle, thinking through everything from art design to costumes.

You have to be extremely mindful of the color scheme. Being in sync with your production designer and costume designer from day one is crucial because they can either elevate or derail the visual language of your film.

On Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, we had a great team. They constantly came up with amazing ideas. My job was to create a first look board for the film—something my team and I put together as a visual reference. We showed it to the director, and he liked it. That eventually became our base reference for the film’s color palette.

On the camera front, our director Santosh Singh didn’t want to go with the conventional over-the-shoulder shots for conversation scenes. We avoided those wherever possible, because Vikrant Massey’s character is blind in the film, and Shanaya’s character is blindfolded (as part of her prep for a role). So there were no eyelines in the traditional sense, and we weren’t bound by typical camera rules.

I have to credit Santosh Singh here—he gives you complete freedom and only steps in when he feels something is deviating from the story. Good ideas are always welcome when they serve storytelling.

For my focus puller, though, it was a nightmare at times, because you can’t expect actors to hit exact marks when they can’t see. So he had to rely on visual judgment and instinct to nail focus beyond standard marks.

Vikrant is fantastic to work with; he intuitively understands where the light is, what lens is being used, and how much movement there is in a dolly shot. That makes a cinematographer’s job a lot easier.

Shanaya, too, was always on point, following instructions to the T. She’s an incredible performer and catches light beautifully. I genuinely think it’s just in her genes.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan was both challenging and fun. If given the chance, I’d love to work with the same team again and again.

  • Raja Guru: From a Small Village to the Silver Screen — The Inspiring Journey of the ‘AARADHYA’ Star

Raja Guru: From a Small Village to the Silver Screen — The Inspiring Journey of the ‘AARADHYA’ Star

New Delhi [India], July 14: Dreaming of making it big in the world of film and television is one thing; turning that dream into reality is another. But as they say, when your determination is strong, the entire universe conspires to help you achieve your goal. This couldn’t be truer in the case of Raja Guru, whose journey from a small village in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, to the glitzy world of Bollywood is nothing short of inspiring.

The name Raja Guru reflects both power and purpose, and so does his work. Set to make his big-screen debut as the lead in the upcoming family drama ‘AARADHYA’, releasing in theatres on July 18, 2025, Raja’s path has been filled with challenges. Yet he refuses to call it a struggle. “When you have dreams in your eyes and a burning desire to fulfill them, the struggle doesn’t seem like a burden — it just feels like hard work with your eyes fixed on the goal,” he says. “We didn’t worry about the path, we just kept walking — people joined us along the way, and a caravan was formed.”

    Staying Positive Amid Pressure

Many aspiring actors lose themselves to stress and uncertainty during their struggle, but Raja Guru stayed calm and grounded. “Staying positive is an art,” he shares. “I never let myself sink into depression. I believe one must practice being happy and positive in every situation — it makes all the difference.”

His journey began with the TV serial “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se”, and each step since has been a learning experience. “Every project taught me something new. I’ve always remained eager to learn,” Raja adds.

AARADHYA: A Film Rooted in Culture and Emotion

Produced under the banner of Ardhnareshwar Creations, AARADHYA is the story of a young man who rises against society to protect his sister’s dignity. More than just a family drama, the film also carries deep emotional and spiritual undertones. Its narrative is deeply connected to the roots of Indian culture and tradition — a reflection of timeless values in a contemporary setting.

Alongside Raja Guru, the film features performances by Gyan Prakash, Pankaj Berry, Deepak Dutt Sharma, and Rupali Jadhav in key roles. The movie is directed and written by Sujeet Goswami, produced by Professor Amarnath Sharma, ‘Daddy’, and co-produced by Tushar Sharma.

The soundtrack is another highlight, with vocals by noted singers Shahid Mallya, Rahul Saxena, Farhad Bhiwandiwala, and Krutika Shriwastawa, adding musical depth to the film’s emotional resonance.

As the countdown to AARADHYA’s release begins, Raja Guru’s story serves as a beacon of hope — a reminder that dreams, no matter where they come from, can lead to powerful realities.

  • Rajhans Redefines Entertainment with Inclusive Cinema Surat Experience

Rajhans Redefines Entertainment with Inclusive Cinema Surat Experience

Surat (Gujarat) [India], July 8: In a fitting celebration of empathy, inclusivity, and social interaction, Rajhans Cinemas organized an unforgettable experience in Surat on 7 July 2025, creating an inspiring benchmark for corporate social responsibility and inclusive entertainment. The “Inclusive Cinema Surat” program organized a special screening of Sitare Zameen Par for specially-abled kids of the city — something that goes beyond the normal business of cinema and upholds the position of entertainment as an effective tool for changing society.

The activity was conducted at Rajhans Cinemas, Vesu and Katargam branches, and attracted children from Anand Special School for Education and Training and Deep Special Educational Trust. These schools support a vast array of children with specific developmental and physical requirements. For them, this was not just a special chance to see cinema on the big screen but also to watch it in an atmosphere purposefully sensitive to their needs.

    An Attentively Crafted Experience

From the very beginning, this was not a typical screening of a film. The event was carefully planned to place accessibility and emotional comfort first. Audio-visual environments were calibrated for sensory comfort, staff and volunteers were trained to respond with empathy, and arrangements were made according to inclusive design.

The payoff? An auditorium filled not only with kids, but with laughter, happiness, wonder, and the kind of silence that is a sign of profound emotional connection. The strong message of Sitare Zameen Par — a movie that fights for neurodivergence and empathy — spoke even louder in a room full of children who experience that reality every day.

“Cinema That Heals”: A Vision Beyond Screens

Jayesh Desai, Chairman of Rajhans Cinemas, distilled the event’s philosophy into one moving sentence:

“We believe cinema has the power to unite, heal, and inspire. This special screening is a small step toward creating inclusive experiences that bring smiles and joy to every heart.”

This view situates cinema not so much as a commodity to be consumed, but as a force of change — a site of exposure, compassion, and healing of the heart.

    Why This Matters

In a nation where public infrastructure remains a challenge to inclusivity, particularly for the differently-abled, these kinds of efforts are not only virtuous — they are imperative. The entertainment industry does not usually consider the diverse requirements of audiences. Rajhans Cinemas’ accessible screening is not only a momentous occasion but perhaps a yardstick.

It poses the question: What if more entertainment conglomerates implemented such methods as the norm, instead of the exception?

    Community Response: Gratitude and Hope

Parents, teachers, and caregivers mirrored their gratitude in one accord. Some mentioned how uncommon such acts are and how they provide children with special needs moments of relief, dignity, and happiness that are frequently out of reach within public life.

A teacher at Deep Special Educational Trust observed,

“This is the first time many of our children have been inside a cinema. Watching their eyes light up was overwhelming. Rajhans has not only given them a film, but a memory.”

These are not merely sentimental statements — they are affidavits of effect.

A New Benchmark in Social Responsibility

By doing this, Inclusive Cinema Surat has become a symbol of something greater than a screening. It is a call to action for the entertainment eco-system at large: think with empathy, act with intention. The gesture rebrands Rajhans Cinemas not only as a business, but as a conscience brand — one that knows profitability and purpose don’t have to be exclusive of each other.

This is not Rajhans Cinemas’ first foray into community outreach, but it’s arguably their most emotional one so far. With public institutions in continuous development, cooperation between civil society and the private sector — particularly through such emotionally charged mediums — is crucial.

    Looking Forward

The expectation is that this is the start of something, not just a standalone action. If inclusive screenings become standard practice, the cultural narrative of film would shift — one where all are genuinely invited to the show.

As the last credits played, the cheering wasn’t merely for the movie. It was for a future built on inclusion, consciousness, and common humanity.

With rich visuals and a grounded narrative, “5th September” promises to be a celebration of second chances and the teachers who shape destinies.

Sanjay Mishra leads the cast with a heartfelt portrayal of a disgruntled former athlete-turned-teacher, while veteran actor Victor Banerjee brings gravity and wisdom to the screen. The ensemble also features Brijendra Kala, Atul Srivastav, Deepraj Rana, Kavin Dave, Kiran Dubey, Sarika Singh, Gayatri Bhargavi, Maliha Malla, Rishabh Khanna, and Kunal Shamshere Malla himself in a pivotal role.

Sanjay Mishra, who plays the emotionally scarred coach, shares, “This film reminded me of my own school days, and the mentors who believed in me when I had nothing. It’s not just a film—it’s a heartfelt thank you to every teacher who never gave up on their students.”

The film is not just a celebration of sport, but also a tribute to educators and mentors who go beyond their call of duty. With a story and screenplay by Kaviraj Singh, Anuradha Pundeer Malla, and Kunal Shamshere Malla, “5th September” beautifully captures the triumph of resilience over cynicism.

Set to an evocative soundtrack composed by Kunal Shamshere Malla and Vickey Prasad, the music mirrors the emotional highs and lows of the narrative, blending seamlessly with the visuals.

  • ZEE5 Movies Brings You the Haunting Tale of ‘Kaalidhar Laapata’

ZEE5 Movies Brings You the Haunting Tale of ‘Kaalidhar Laapata’

Are you willing to watch an emotional and gripping movie?

We have landed up here with one of the best Hindi thriller movies on ZEE5, i.e. Kaalidhar Laapata for you. This wonderful story is a perfect remake of Karuppu Durai. This Madhumita-directed movie not only engages the audience till the end but also lets them guess.

    What is the Plot?

Kaalidhar Laapata is one of the finest movies on ZEE5 that tells the story of an ageing man who escapes his family after listening to the plan for his family to abandon him. The story takes on an interesting turn when he meets a free-spirited boy named Ballu. Daivik Baghela performed the powerful role of Ballu in the movie, and he not only rescues Kaalidhar from being alone and lost but also becomes his guide and friend as well. Their friendship changes the aspects of living for Kaalidhar.

    Roller Coaster Ride of Emotions

Kaalidhar Laapata is a roller coaster ride of emotions where the friendship of Kaalidhar and Ballu keeps on motivating Kaalidhar and changes his way of living. Ballu helped Kaalidhar in creating a bucket list of the goals that he wanted to do before his memory was lost. The things included are quite simple, like riding a motorcycle, enjoying biryani, and dancing in a wedding procession, but the joy included is quite immense. These small, happy and joyful moments bring happiness into the life of Kaalidhar. Fulfilling each goal reawakens something new in Kaalidhar. The same brings up a fleeting memory and brings up smiles and shines on his face.

    The cast of the Movie

Kaalidhar Laapata comes up with a powerful cast that not only adds life to their character but also engages the audience till the end.

Abhishek Bachchan as Kaalidhar has tried to bring a raw characterisation so that it sould appear real. He is portraying the character of a man who has lost himself and finds a reason to live after meeting Ballu.

Daivik Baghela as Ballu adds a spark to the movie.

    Who made Kaalidhar Laapata?

Kaalidhar Laapata is a wonderful movie by ZEE Studios and is co-produced with Emmay Entertainment, which brings up an emotional story with absolute mystery for the audience. It is the directorial debut of Madhumita, who is the director of its Tamil version KD as well. Madhumita has perfectly showcased her talent, her powerful direction and her way of portraying characters through this wonderful movie.

    Why “Shadows” and “Silence”?

    From Shadows

The word Shadows in the title refers to the hidden past of Kaalidhar, and that includes his memories, his forgotten relationships and his inner pain. He, along with Ballu, goes on a day-out adventure where shadows from his past keep surfacing. It is not a crime thriller movie, but it includes an emotional sense that engages the audience till the end.

    To Silence

The word silence in the Kaalidhar Laapata movie is all about how shadows bring up the moment of silence. Sometimes the words become too heavy and too painful that it becomes quite necessary to be silent for some time.

Tone and Feel of the Film

Kaalidhar Laapata is a wonderful movie that features soft lighting and close camera shots, making you feel closer to the characterisation. All of the above not only impact the storyline but also tell the feeling of confusion, sadness and small moments of joy. Whether it is about empty rooms or it’s about untouched cups, every silence in the movie speaks loudly. The music of the movie also supports its story without booming and letting emotions breathe. Whether it is about the scene of eating biryani or it is about playing together, every single scene brings up a sense of nostalgia and tells about the hidden stories.

    Real Conversations, Real Feelings

Stories like Kaalidhar Laapata take their time in the world of fast-paced action and flashy stories. It lets you feel, listen and ask quietly about the different queries. The movie is quite appreciated by the audience for its slow, emotional stories and depth. The story of the movie initiates real conversations and real feelings without any hassle.

    Family and Abandonment

The story of the Kaalidhar Laapata becomes quite interesting and engaging when the family of Kaalidhar leaves him after his memory loss.

    Friendship and Healing

Ballu is not serving as a friend for Kaalidhar, but has emerged as a spark in the dark life of Kaalidhar. Their connection is quite strong, and simple moments like sharing food and sharing silence connect the audience more to it.

    Memory and Identity

The Kaalidhar Laapata is a wonderful movie that is not about searching for a missing person, but it is about building a path that initiates a memory of Kaalidhar.

Kaalidhar Laapata is a wonderful story of an ageing man who was being abundant by his family after his memory loss. The story is not about the things that we say out loud, but is about the relationships that hurt a lot and the relationships that care about us. It is a story of friendship and how it lightens up the life of every person.
