Shot amid a million challenges braving the pandemic and spanning across months, Gadar 2 is designer Nidhi Yasha’s 90th project.

New Delhi (India), August 12: “The pandemic’s fury did not deter the team’s spirit. We shot with all Covid protocols in different locations across the country, across different seasons, altitudes and weather conditions,” she says.

She further says:

“My team and I were assigned a massive task. Several time periods, several characters, lead characters that the public was emotionally attached to, a time lapse since the last film, several armies across various time periods across two countries, and thousands of costumes. The late 1960s and early 1970s Punjab and Pakistan, and the overwhelming details of army uniforms, that too in the period set up of the film. There is no margin of error when you are expected to recreate history or a period in time, even if it is the backdrop of a fictional story. Especially when it comes with the responsibility to represent nations and armies and things that involve the public’s emotions.” She shares.

As for the experience of working with Mr. Anil Sharma, she says, “I must mention my director’s undeterred faith in my work and in giving me a free hand in bringing his vision to life, of course with his valuable guidance along the way. The way Mr. Anil Sharma works is exemplary. He treats his core team like his pillars and is very open to an exchange of ideas to promote a very fluid creative process. He is also very passionate and vocal in terms of feedback, both negative and positive, which enables growth. Once he trusts his technicians/ HODs, he does not micro manage and lets his team leads explore their process and express, which is amazing. Surender Singh of the Indian Army, for his invaluable contribution to the research and reproduction of vintage army uniforms for both India and Pakistan, which was not possible at all without his involvement and insights on the details, amid other things. As civilians, we have access to very limited resources on army paraphernalia, including documentation and visual imagery. His contribution is the reason why our research is absolutely on point when it comes to everything army-related in the film, including costumes. We are thankful as a team for his very generous and patient extension of himself and his knowledge! “

The label, which has sincerely strived to push the burgeoning Hip-Hop culture in India by supporting various hard-hitting bodies of work and in honour of this significant milestone, Def Jam Recordings India is teaming up with top Indian rappers and record producers from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru for an unforgettable experience.

The stellar line-up includes Def Jam India’s signed emcee Raga, Bella, and Chaar Diwaari in Delhi-NCR; HanumanKind, Rawal, Parimal Shais, Killa K, and DHP in Bengaluru; and Def Jam India’s  Rapper Irfana, DJ Ishani and Bobkat in Mumbai.

The normal practice of producers in the film trade is not to show their film to anybody till the release date is not around, but producer Rajeev Chaudhari ( ‘Beiimaan Love’- Sunny Leone starrer fame) has just the opposite attitude! Rajeev kept a couple of trial shows of his film ‘Fire of Love Red’ when the release date is still not locked! When we asked Rajeev, he very confidently replied, “If you are confident of your product, you should not hesitate in showing it to your friends in the trade and with this film ‘Fire of Love Red’, I am damn confident that it will click” 

A private screening of Avanti Prajakta Arts ‘Fire of Love Red’ was held recently, and Veteran filmmakers Rahul Rawail and Pankaj Parashar loved the film and, in their praises, termed ‘Fire of Love Red’ as a brilliant and gripping ‘James Hadley ..’ kind of thriller and even others who saw the film were full of praises for the film!

Memphis Jookin is a unique footwork dance form originated from the city of Memphis Tn (USA) that features unreal tiptoe footwork, glides/slides, ankle breaks, and some superhuman footwork which also makes it look like Ballet but for the streets. As the style is very new to India, Anubhav Dadhwal, Popularly Known as Imaganimatrix who is the Indian Ambassador of Memphis Jookin style makes history by bringing “Memphis Jookin” to Redbull DYS India 2023.

Anubhav earned a coveted spot in the top 16 West Zone qualifiers held in Mumbai and in a competition with some popular footwork dance styles category like litefeet and Chicago footwork, Anubhav fearlessly brought “Memphis Jookin” to the forefront, despite the absence of a specific category for this style in the Redbull Dance Your Style India tournament, Leaving an indelible mark on the Indian dance legacy.

Anubhav expressed his feelings and said, “This is more than just a victory for me; it’s a mission fulfilled. For a decade, I’ve been devoted to bringing this movement art “Memphis Jookin” to the forefront of the Indian dance scene. This style deserves recognition, status and respect, much like hip-hop, ballet, and jazz. With this opportunity at one of the biggest national street dance platforms Redbull DYS, I could authentically showcase this art and give it the exposure it truly deserves. Alongside his triumph at Redbulll DYS, Anubhav had the privilege of teaching “Memphis Jookin” at the renowned UDW International 2023 as the youngest artist (22yrs) in the lineup alongside some internationally and nationally celebrated names like Bam Martin, Melvin Timtim , Sagar bora , Ravi Varma , Ruel Dausan Varindani and many more . Anubhav taught this footwork art to more than 600+ dancers in the camp, “His exceptional skills and teaching at UDW have further cemented Memphis Jookin presence in the Indian dance legacy. His desire to share the original knowledge and mastery of Jookin has led him to aspire to bring his OG “Lil Buck” to India in the near future.

Anubhav’s achievement of spreading this style in India have not gone unnoticed by the pioneer of the Memphis Jookin style in Memphis (USA), They have expressed immense pride in his accomplishments.
