  • Telemedicine is changing healthcare and saving lives in India.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh)[India], May 10: India’s health care system is close to a collapse due to the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. With more than 20 million infected citizens and more than 226 thousand deaths, India is going through an unimaginable crisis. Pictures of distraught families counting their dead and sick people being turned away from hospitals amidst the most significant health crisis in history worry the whole planet.

Relaxation of measures definitely did not help this horrific scenario. Despite warnings of Covid-19 risks, the people of India still enjoyed elaborate wedding parties, sports matches, and festivals. India’s health system was unprepared for the new wave that hit the country so devastatingly. The lack of health care, personnel, beds, and oxygen brought terrible consequences. On top of all that, geographical barriers pose a tremendous challenge for the health system too.

Many people in India do not have access to primary healthcare.

A significant portion of India’s population is not getting the most primary health care. The country has a doctor-to-patient ratio of 1:10.189, which is approximately lower than the 1:1,000 recommended by the WHO. The situation in the rural parts of India is devastating – the people need three times as many nurses and five times as many paramedics it has today. The coronavirus has proven the urgent need for a paradigm shift in the provision of primary care. Instead of patients coming to doctors, it should be the other way around. Medical practitioners had to find a way to reach out to society’s most vulnerable and distant parts.

Access to quality primary care has always been a massive problem in the Indian healthcare system. The country has a devastating shortage of around 600,000 doctors, and over two million nurses reported the Centre for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP). There is also a worrying shortage of radiologists; there are over 150.000 of the positions unfilled.

However, slowly but surely, things are changing for the better.

    Telemedicine is a game-changer

Thanks to telemedicine which enables treating patients remotely, there is a new horizon in the public health domain of India. Telehealth plays a critical role in India’s health system and is now needed more than ever. It is a technologically and digitally advanced method of health care that has provided immense help to those required during these challenging times. Patients can now connect with doctors and seek advice no matter the distance, merely using smartphones or computers. It’s a much-needed boost to the system that has suffered from the adverse effects of poverty and geographical barriers.

Sprint Medical offers services in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and specializes in telemedicine and cares for all of the patient’s health needs. Thanks to the high-end digital solutions, Sprint Medical provides affordable care – anytime, anyplace. Sprint Medical allows the patients to choose the best doctors from all over India and book appointments online. They offer assisted doctor consultations where a nurse will help patients in the process and uses advanced IoT-connected devices that allow doctors to have correct diagnostics virtually.

    The rise of virtual healthcare

Using integrated end-to-end solutions, doctors can be virtually present to care and follow-up on their remote patients. Sprint Medical collects patient’s real-time vitals, EKG, Blood Glucose Monitoring, risk factors, red flags, and anything else that needs to be checked and monitored.

Telemedicine has throughout 2020 shown that it’s an excellent medium to provide healthcare to those who lack the chance to get help in person. The method is as efficient as it is cost-effective. Doctors are now able to manage patients and filter out those who need to be hospitalized. For others, doctors use telemedicine to check their symptoms, advise about required tests, medication and do follow-ups.

Thanks to advanced technology, patients can now be monitored at home, with doctors tracking their progress and intervening if needed. Healthcare is shifting from hospital to home, giving patients the ultimate access to care 24/7 via mobile phones.

Getting people to use these new digital platforms had its struggling moments, but today, both doctors and patients adopted telemedicine as one of the primary healthcare delivery channels. With all of the OPDs closed due to lockdown, most were still able to maintain the consultation charges identical to the OPDs on these platforms.

This unprecedented rise in teleconsultations, telepathology, teleradiology, and e-pharmacies is expected to push India’s telemedicine market to reach $5.5 billion by 2025. New telemedicine platforms are popping in India, with start-ups such as Phable, Practo, mFine, CallHealth, and Lybrate.

Every patient deserves to get at least primary care. The future has come, and it has connected the patient and the doctors. All the information is tracked on Electronic Medical Record platforms vital in creating these care ecosystems in India. Remote healthcare, telemedicine, and teleconsultation meet the unmatched needs of the healthcare resources required.

Telehealth is the future of medicine.

The pandemic has proven that all of the parties involved need to invest in developing the tool that is undoubtedly the future of home healthcare. Because of its convenience and cost-effectiveness, remote monitoring and telemedicine services boost the system significantly.

Telemedicine provides invaluable benefits. There are now devices that can monitor patient’s stats such as pulse, saturation pulse, and ECG in real-time. This data can also be stored and analyzed, enhancing the safety and security outcome of patients at home. Providing a real-time solution depending on real-time information available on the platforms is maybe one of the most significant benefits of this new technology.

For all these reasons, telemedicine poses a significant improvement in primary healthcare. No less significantly, Telehealth will help the future evolution of science immensely. A large pool of data available for future research and analysis will lead to evolutionary guidelines and breakthroughs.

Although Virtual Doctor consultation is still somewhat of a novelty in India, citizens have quickly adopted this new pillar of healthcare. This shows that while Covid-19 has impacted India in the most detrimental ways, the country now has an excellent opportunity to become a digital health leader.

  • Aarzoo Khurana, an ace Wildlife Photographer creatively captures the beauty of the natural world

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 10: Nature is amazing and there are many secrets out there to unfold. And Wildlife photography is an adventure unto itself. There are fewer women in wildlife photography majorly because most don’t try. We come across one such young and expert woman wildlife photographer who creates unique and astonishing images of her time in the lap of nature.

With a penchant for photography since her young days, Aarzoo had been clicking domestic cats and eagles in flight for a long time. She then turned the lens to the streets to capture some of the most happening places and moments. Subsequently, she again ventured into the wild and since then Wildlife has been my preferred subject for photography and she has been creating breathtaking visuals of the same. She is a Lawyer by Profession and a Wildlife Photographer by passion.

From her experiences, Aarzoo has learned to always respect wildlife and listen to nature and it will give in its secrets. As photographers are expected to sit peacefully at a place, observe and click the wilderness in its natural form, she also learned to become part of the landscape. There are risks, of course. But things get dangerous only when one is not watchful, or disturbs an animal, or its natural surroundings. But as Aarzoo puts it, ‘If you follow the decorum of the jungle, you’ll be fine.’

As a wildlife photographer, Aarzoo uses the medium of photography to capture the beautiful things she witnesses in nature, like a pair of Sarus cranes calling out to the heavens on a misty winter morning, or a baby langur frolicking in its mother’s lap. Shares Aarzoo, ‘It just takes some understanding of the typical behaviour with a generous dose of patience to find such moments. Give the creatures a while, you will be amazed by the behaviour they display. So my choice of the subject is based on the kind of behaviour I can expect, and of course the lighting conditions.’

This lose-yourself-to-nature approach enables her to get close enough to capture the animal’s beauty and behaviour which both feature strongly in her style of photography. These are some of the skills, she has developed, in wildlife photography over a period of time and with her encounters with the wild.

Talking about the challenges she faces while shooting dangerous wild animals and lessons learned from these adventures, Aarzoo says, ‘Wildlife photography is extremely challenging both, physically and mentally. We leave for safaris early morning, and the temperature inside the forest is usually extreme. During the winters, mornings are freezing and the summer noons are scorching. Besides, you have to work with heavy gear for long hours. But all your patience and hard work pay off when you see that one awe-inspiring moment staring right at you which you finally capture with your lens.’

Many people think that Wildlife photography is quite an expensive genre to explore. But Aarzoo busts this myth for you. She believes that one can click fabulous images of wild animals with your cellphone camera or if you can spend a bit, rent the gear, and try it out.

In fact, she did not have any wildlife photography gear for the first two years of photography. She used to rent a canon 100-400 and practice in Sultanpur and Okhla bird sanctuaries.

Finally, she has a message for all the upcoming photographers as well as young women exploring wildlife photography as a career choice. She puts it this way, ‘Don’t think too much; creativity comes later and takes time. To start with, just pick whichever camera you have, or rent or borrow one, and look for a visual that might make a good picture, and click. Be patient, give it time, and don’t start showcasing your work too soon. Keep practicing. And most importantly respect nature.’

  • This Gujarat-based startup won India’s Top 500 start-up award and has recycled more than 150K Smartphones.

Business Mint awarded Niyateey Shah, founder of Tvarita Phones as Promising Company – 2021, Refurbished Mobiles Company Category for being the most promising service provider.

Valsad (Gujarat) [India], May 06: With the consistent developments and innovations in the Indian startup environment, more and more women are chasing the entrepreneurial dream. That also empowers other Indian women who are still bound to the traditional homemaker role to have an independent perspective.

Tvarita Phones, launched in 2018, has won India’s Top 500 startups Award and has recycled more than 150K smartphones and managing repair for India’s biggest mobile phone insurer company, Bajaj Alliance.

As indicated by the National Sample Survey, only 14% of the businesses in India are being operated by women entrepreneurs. A large part of the organization is bootstrapped and run on a limited scale. The global dissimilarity is evident in a report which says almost 126 million women have their own business across the world while Indian women wait around the 8 million marks; a paradoxical statement shows that India is the second most populated country in the world.

Since its inception, Niyateey and her team have managed to convert their mobile repair, renovating, and reselling services, and fixed almost 150k smartphones and are still counting. Instead, the company chose to focus on a specialty section that would be ready to pay a premium for services. Thus, Tvarita starts with a basic fix service model for smartphones, where they fix, repair, and deliver.

Tvarita Phones was founded by Niyateey Shah in the year 2018 to utilize innovation for a clean and green environment. With this evenhanded, they are all set to set up an integrated, end-to-end electronic waste (e-waste) recycling facility and consequently becoming the e-waste recycler to be registered with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. Tvarita Phones is committed to initiating a socially responsible movement towards electronic waste.

The significant advantages of dealing with a re-commerce organization are many, for example, guaranteed repurchase cost to the holder of the product. Tvarita, which means Magic in Sanskrit, is a new venture which is into refurbishing, repair, and replacement of premium smartphones in India. With its cutting-edge manufacturing office located in Vapi, Gujarat, the organization plans to be the go-to mark in the maintenance and repairing section. The focus is to be the trademark in after deals services making it a faultless lifecycle for the end consumer, OEMs, and their B2B Partners.

As per the facts, the recommerce industry in India is expected to witness a steep growth bend with a CAGR of more than 35% this year. As innovation infiltration increases, this need is going to detonate soon. Tvarita believes that the Mobile Insurance Industry Is being hit by three main factors: TAT: Frauds: Loss Ratio

    The answer is Tvarita.

    • TAT, Handset Picked-Repaired- Delivered within 12 working days. Replace – Replacement of the handset within 24hours of the broken device picked up.
    • FRAUDS, It’s a company, not a service center systems and processes are all set to ensure no extra parts are replaced, repaired to swell the client’s billing.
    • LOSS RATIO, Tvarita promises a minimum of 15% savings on your current repair expense and backing it up with a 7day warranty.

India has a tremendous mobile phone divide. Out of a billion or more mobile users, just 350-million odd people have smartphones. There is a huge move that will occur from highlights to smartphones in coming years. And, we accept the refurbished market will likewise take a generous share of this growth. The pre-owned smartphones market is growing 4-5x quicker than the by and large smartphone market. In India, there is an enormous neglected demand for used or repaired smartphones, making Tvarita, one of the fastest developing business sectors for refurbished, repaired smartphones in the world. Without innovation, business gets humdrum which hampers growth, She adds.

Let’s look at another successful venture of Niyateey Shah. Shotformat Digital Productions is the company that features India’s top 5 Digital Product Companies Invested By Matrix Partners and which is currently valued at $2M. The organization has delivered probably the best products like Audio Talkies, Video Talkies, and the most recent being Smartphone protection. Short Format is the third biggest mobile phone insurance agency in India and one of the first agencies to give mobile phone protection on existing handsets. Shotformat has protected million mobile phones with its homegrown innovation that distinguishes the strength of the handset remotely. Another gem product Pink Pets caters to the needs of Pet Parents in India.

Year after year, confident, savvy, courageous women from wherever the nation to become successful and thunder achievement and win in various fields. Niyateey builds India’s revolutionary item Audio Talkies which accumulated a business of almost 1500cr+ for the telcos and created another category of rights for the film producers.

Niyateey also produced a feature Mumbai Cutting, in that ’10’ shorts directed by ’10’ directors from Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Revathy, Shahshank Ghosh, Late Kundan Shah, Rahul Dholakia, and a few more. Yet to be released by Sahara.

She believes that you cannot discover new oceans unless you dare to lose sight of the shore!

Throughout the long term, she has strengthened the art of collaborating market needs with innovations and building an ultimate plan of action.
