New Delhi [India], October 10: A new era in Indian healthcare has begun with the inception of EarlySure Diagnostics Limited, a visionary venture poised to revolutionize advanced cancer diagnostics in India. As the exclusive partner of global liquid biopsy leader IMBDx Inc., EarlySure is set to redefine cancer management through minimally invasive, highly accurate solutions. Leading this transformation are two changemakers: Simrithi Bathija, the Miss India International titleholder turned Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer, and Pritam Lodh, the Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer.

For Simrithi Bathija, being crowned Miss India International marked the start of a mission where elegance meets earnest impact, turning the crown into a beacon for conversations around health, preventive care, and cancer awareness. Unlike many who gravitate towards fashion, Simrithi grounded her public journey in wellness and community empowerment. She champions the ethos that “a fit mind and a fit body can change the way we live,” emphasizing that responsibility must extend to one’s own health.

Now, as Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Simrithi aligns her focus on preventive lifestyle and early screening with the Prime Minister’s Healthy India (Swasth Bharat)mission. Her message, “Preventive healthcare and awareness are not optional anymore—they are the strongest shield we can give ourselves and our families,” gains potent technical backing through EarlySure’s solutions. With cancer burden in India projected to be roughly 12.8% higher in 2025 than in 2020, Simrithi’s role is crucial in ensuring the dialogue around cancer stays visible, informed, and empowering. She embodies the idea that health is a collective movement and demonstrates that standing for something larger than self is the real hallmark of influence.

Pritam Lodh: Pioneering Precision with Liquid Biopsy

Pritam Lodh, Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer, leads EarlySure’s scientific initiatives. With an MSc in Biotechnology, an MBA in International Business Management, a PGDM in Product Management, and an Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics, Lodh is instrumental in bringing advanced precision oncology to India. EarlySure’s collaboration with IMBDx, a global leader in liquid biopsy and Comprehensive Genomic Profiling (CGP), enables them to overcome the limitations of traditional, invasive tissue biopsies.

Pritam Lodh is dedicated to utilizing IMBDx’s breakthrough technology, which analyzes cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) from a simple blood sample. This innovation, powered by Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and AI-driven bioinformatics, enables:

    ● Early cancer detection

    ● Real-time monitoring of tumor evolution

    ● Personalized treatment planning

    ● Reduced patient discomfort compared to surgical biopsy

In a landscape where the liquid biopsy market is projected to surpass $20 billion globally by 2030, Lodh’s vision is to make these advanced diagnostics accessible and affordable in India. “The future of oncology is non-invasive and predictive. We are not just bringing a test to India; we are delivering hope, accuracy, and a faster pathway to personalized treatment that bypasses the limitations and pain points of conventional methods,” states Lodh. He highlights that up to 50% of all cancer cases are preventable, adding, “By adopting IMBDx’s CancerDetect and CancerFind solutions, we are providing clinicians with actionable insights earlier, moving cancer care from late-stage reaction to true prevention and optimal therapeutic strategy.”

IMBDx introduces a comprehensive range of AlphaLiquid® and CancerDetect assays designed to transform cancer management through cutting-edge liquid and tissue biopsy technologies.

AlphaLiquid® 100 / 1000: Comprehensive cfDNA-based profiling panels covering 192 to over 920 genes for treatment selection, monitoring, and biomarker discovery across solid tumors.

AlphaLiquid® HRR: Specialized liquid biopsy assay targeting HRR gene alterations to identify patients eligible for PARP inhibitor therapies in prostate, ovarian, and breast cancers.

Together, Simrithi Bathija and Pritam Lodh stand as visionary leaders, bridging the gap between national wellness aspirations and scientific accessibility. EarlySure Diagnostics is poised to be a force for change, proving that a crown shines brightest when it reflects responsibility and inspires industry-wide transformation.

  • World Mental Health Day 2025: Expert Advice on Access to Care in Times of Crisis

World Mental Health Day 2025: Expert Advice on Access to Care in Times of Crisis

New Delhi [India], October 10: Every year, World Mental Health Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritise emotional well-being. The 2025 theme, “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” highlights the growing need for timely psychological support during disasters, conflicts, and global crises. As communities face unprecedented challenges, mental health care must become an integral part of emergency response systems.

This article brings expert insights on building accessible, compassionate care networks to ensure that help reaches those who need it most—when they need it most.

Dr Avinash Desousa, MBBS, DPM, M.Phil (Psychiatry), PhD, Consultant Psychiatrist, Mumbai

Access to mental health services during catastrophes and emergencies is often severely disrupted, yet the psychological impact of such events can be profound and enduring. Displacement, loss, trauma, and uncertainty contribute to increased rates of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and grief. In such contexts, integrating mental health and psychosocial support within the emergency response frameworks becomes crucial. Lack of trained personnel, limited infrastructure, stigma, and disrupted communication hinder timely care. Community-based interventions, psychological first aid, and the use of both online and offline health services can enhance accessibility. Mental health care in emergency settings must ensure continuity of care and the inclusion of populations such as children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing mental illness. Mental health is a basic right of all people, and people must have access to the same. Building mental health services helps build a nation. Let’s remove the stigma and embrace mental health care.

Dr Keerti Sachdeva, PhD, M.Phil., M.Sc., Counselling Psychologist, Positive Vibrations Clinic, Mumbai

Dr Keerti Sachdeva emphasises the importance of nurturing a child’s mental and emotional well-being through consistent encouragement and support. She advises parents to encourage their child to do better, show faith, and appreciate their positive qualities rather than only pointing out mistakes or putting them down, as constant criticism can leave children with low confidence, low self-esteem, shame, and guilt that may affect them throughout life. Dr Sachdeva stresses the value of free and open communication, listening to everything the child wants to express, instead of merely giving advice, since self-expression is vital for emotional growth. She also highlights the importance of physical exercise and outdoor play, which protect both physical and mental health and reduce the risk of anxiety or depression. Additionally, she recommends using positive reinforcement instead of punishment, guiding children to socialise, and relying on persuasion over force to build resilience, confidence, and healthy mental health.

Dr Kiran Makhijani, PhD, M.A. (Clinical Psychology), PGDLMS, Consultant Psychologist, Mumbai

The theme for World Mental Health Day 2025, “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” reminds us that mental well-being is essential—especially during challenging times. Crises such as pandemics, natural disasters, or personal losses can trigger anxiety, sadness, and confusion. Recognising these emotions early and seeking help can make a significant difference. Access to care means reaching out to psychologists, counsellors, helplines, or using online therapy platforms. But beyond professional help, there are many practical ways to care for your mental health every day. Techniques like deep breathing, grounding exercises, journaling, mindfulness meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation can help calm the mind. Maintaining a routine, getting enough rest, eating balanced meals, and engaging in regular physical activity support both mental and physical resilience. Staying socially connected, even virtually, and sharing your feelings with trusted people, helps reduce isolation. Limiting exposure to distressing news, focusing on gratitude, and engaging in creative or spiritual activities can also promote emotional balance. On this World Mental Health Day, let’s remember—seeking help is an act of self-care, not weakness. Mental health care must be accessible to everyone, especially when the world around us feels uncertain.

Dr Mithila Desai, M.A., PhD, Clinical Psychologist & Psychotherapist, CBT Practitioner and Relationship Therapist; Owner & Founder of Power of Mind, Mumbai (Clinics at Borivali and Khar)

In the mirrored maze of modern life, we’re often ensnared by the relentless whisper: you aren’t enough. The stress to look good, to fit the curated frames of social acceptability, ignites a silent battleground within, fueling compulsive dieting, body angst, and a vortex of self-doubt.

Did you know? Our breathing patterns are like the unseen conductors of this inner orchestra; shallow breaths often amplify anxiety, while conscious breathing becomes a subversive act of reclaiming calm. Letting go emerges as a radical rebellion against the tyranny of perfection. When we release the stranglehold of comparisons, self-acceptance begins whispering sweet truths: you are enough, unfiltered. Societal pressures craft invisible chains; mindfulness becomes the key to unlocking them.

Curiosity alert: Can embracing imperfection be the ultimate superpower for mental freedom? Stress melts when we breathe into the now, dissolving the mirage of the ‘ideal’. On this Mental Health Day, dare to unmask the war within and breathe defiance into self-kindness. Your worth isn’t pixels on a screen; it’s the rhythm of your unapologetic being.

Ms. Rashi Laskari, Counselling Psychologist, Individual & Relationship Therapist, Mumbai; Instagram & YouTube: @intherapywithrashi

During a crisis, access to mental health care is not just about availability—it should also be about approachability. People in distress often don’t seek help because they fear judgment or believe their pain isn’t “serious enough.” My experience over 14+ years in practice has shown that the first step to true access is trust and awareness. When communities, workplaces, and families normalise emotional conversations, they become the first line of care. Digital therapy platforms and employee assistance programs have expanded reach in the last few years, but our strongest tool as a society has to be EMPATHY. In catastrophes and emergencies, what saves lives is timely listening—a psychologist, a colleague, or even a friend—who says, “You are not alone; help is available.” Access begins with that one compassionate response.

Ms Saumya Sharan, Senior Consultant Clinical Psychologist, M.Phil. (Gold Medalist)

In times of crisis, access to care must be conceptualised as a multidimensional process that addresses both systemic and psychological determinants. As a Clinical Psychologist, I view accessibility not merely as the presence of services but as the reduction of internal and external barriers to seeking and sustaining care. Individuals in crisis often experience cognitive overload, emotional dysregulation, and a diminished sense of agency—factors that impede help-seeking. Thus, care systems must prioritise immediacy, continuity, and psychological safety. Crisis intervention must integrate culturally attuned and person-centred frameworks, ensuring that every point of contact—whether virtual or in-person—conveys containment and empathy. Beyond rapid stabilisation, ongoing follow-up and cross-disciplinary coordination are essential to prevent relapse and promote resilience.

Ultimately, effective access to care during crisis is not defined by service delivery alone, but by the system’s capacity to restore autonomy, coherence, and connection in the individual.

Dr Shabiullah Syyed, M.B.B.S., M.D. (Psychiatry), WPA Young Fellowship (Germany); Consultant Psychiatrist at The Definitive Mind Clinic, Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Continua Kids, and Hygiea Hospital, New Delhi

Dr Shabiullah Syyed is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 11 years of experience. He practices at The Definitive Mind Clinic, Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Continua Kids, and Hygiea Hospital in New Delhi.

In his perspective, access to mental health care during crises is not solely about the availability of services but also about approachability. Individuals in distress often hesitate to seek help due to fear of judgment or the belief that their pain isn’t ‘serious enough.’ Dr Syyed emphasises that the first step to true access is trust and awareness. When communities, workplaces, and families normalise emotional conversations, they become the first line of care. While digital therapy platforms and employee assistance programs have expanded reach in recent years, he believes that empathy remains society’s strongest tool. In times of crisis, what saves lives is timely listening—a psychiatrist, a colleague, or even a friend—who says, “You are not alone; help is available.” Access begins with that one compassionate response.

Dr Vikas Bhateja, PhD (Cognitive Psychology), Senior Consultant, Indus International Hospital, Chandigarh

Dr Vikas Bhateja, based in Chandigarh, is a seasoned RCI-certified clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience, having guided more than 30,000 individuals through mental health challenges. On World Mental Health Day 2025, he underscores that access to care during crises is not just a logistical issue, but a moral imperative. He advises that mental health services must be decentralised and mobile, reaching people even in disaster-hit zones through telepsychiatry units, mobile outreach teams, and community health workers trained in psychological first aid. He also emphasises early triage and risk screening at community shelters, so that those in acute distress or suicidal ideation are identified and referred promptly. According to him, integration with primary care systems helps reduce stigma and makes help more reachable. In times of catastrophe, Dr. Bhateja urges governments and NGOs to pre-map mental health resource networks in vulnerable regions—so services can be activated rapidly when calamities strike.

  • Easy Boba Introduces Limited-Edition ‘Cheese Foam Shakes’ — A Creamy Twist to Classic Flavours

Easy Boba Introduces Limited-Edition ‘Cheese Foam Shakes’ — A Creamy Twist to Classic Flavours

Easy Boba Launches Limited-Edition ‘Cheese Foam Shakes’ Across Select Outlets in Mumbai, Blending Dessert Comfort with Café Innovation

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 10: India’s authentic bubble tea brand, Easy Boba, just dropped something wild — “Cheese Foam Shakes.” They’re creamy, unapologetically indulgent, and the brand’s first-ever non-vegan line.

Bubble Tea Gets a Dessert Makeover

If bubble tea had a decadent cousin, this would be it. Easy Boba’s new Cheese Foam Shakes blur the line between dessert and drink — a bold move that blends creamy milkshake nostalgia with the textural kick of tapioca pearls.

Each shake is topped with a velvety cheese foam, whisked right into the cup to form a luscious, cloud-like layer. This is not your regular froth — it’s a rich, dessert-style topping that balances sweet and savory in one sip. It’s weirdly addictive — like tiramisu met bubble tea at a Mumbai café and decided to stay.

The new range is available in ten flavors that read like a dessert hall of fame: Red Velvet, Mango, Nutella, French Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Cookies & Crème, Ceremonial Matcha, Lotus Biscoff, and Blueberry.

A First for Easy Boba — and a Little Bit of Risk

This launch marks Easy Boba’s first non-vegan product, a gutsy pivot for a brand known for dairy-free options. “We wanted to take the comfort of dessert and combine it with the fun, texture, and creativity that Easy Boba is known for,” said Adnan Sarkar, the brand’s founder.

That’s not just marketing fluff. Easy Boba has built its following by balancing global trends with Indian taste sensibilities. Introducing a dairy-based product might seem risky, but in a country where cheese somehow sneaks into everything from pizza to pani puri, it’s a calculated risk that might just pay off.

Where to Find It (and When to Splurge)

The Cheese Foam Shakes are rolling out across select Mumbai outlets — Juhu, Chembur, Santacruz, Kemps, Hill Road, and Carters.

And here’s the kicker: during Easy Boba’s “Slay Day” Offer (the 15th of every month), every item on the menu — including these rich new shakes — is priced at just ₹99.

Miss that day, and you’ll shell out between ₹200–₹250, which, to be fair, is still cheaper than some of Mumbai’s designer coffees that taste like regret.

Why It Works — The Psychology of Indulgence

There’s a reason this launch hits the sweet spot (literally and psychologically). In India’s café scene, customers are craving novelty that doesn’t feel foreign. A drink that combines dessert comfort with bubble tea playfulness does exactly that.

Add to that the social media factor: those layered colors, the foamy top, the pearls at the bottom — it’s Instagram gold. Don’t be surprised if #CheeseFoamShakes starts flooding your Reels feed.

According to [External Link → industry report placeholder], India’s bubble tea market is projected to grow at over 14% CAGR through 2030, driven by Gen Z’s obsession with customizable drinks. Easy Boba, with its 20+ outlets nationwide, clearly wants to dominate that growth wave.

    Balancing Indulgence with Inclusivity

Even with this indulgent twist, Easy Boba hasn’t abandoned its inclusive ethos. The brand’s menu continues to feature low-calorie, dairy-free, and plant-based options, making it a rare café brand that genuinely caters to everyone — from fitness freaks to lactose-intolerant boba lovers.

In a market full of copycat chains, Easy Boba stands out for how it blends international aesthetics with Indian practicality. You can walk into one of their stores in Mumbai and feel like you’re in Taipei — until someone yells, “One Nutella shake, extra pearls!”

A Café Brand with a Cult Following

Since its launch, Easy Boba has carved out more than just a fan base — it’s built a community. Their audience isn’t just buying a drink; they’re buying a mood, a lifestyle, a tiny rebellion against boring beverages.

While older brands still debate the “authenticity” of bubble tea, Easy Boba is out there experimenting — matcha one day, biscoff the next. And now, cheese foam.

Their stores are bright, cheeky, and full of energy — much like the drinks themselves. The vibe? Somewhere between an art café and a K-pop music video.

    Final Sip

Easy Boba’s Cheese Foam Shakes are exactly what India’s café culture needed: a reminder that fun and flavor don’t have to be mutually exclusive. It’s indulgence done with personality.

If you’re looking for a drink that makes you question your diet choices but not your happiness — this is it.

Ayurveda Day Celebrations at Pinnacle IHM

New Delhi [India], October 9: The students of II and III Year BCTCA (Hotel Management) at Pinnacle IHM organised an awareness programme on the occasion of Ayurveda Day. The programme highlighted the significance of Ayurveda in promoting holistic health and well-being, with a special focus on the concept of the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

As part of the event, students prepared an eight-course menu representing the three categories of food in Ayurveda — Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic. Each course was carefully curated to reflect the qualities of these food groups, and their health influences were explained, emphasising how diet can impact both physical wellness and mental balance.

The programme also included Ayurvedic dishes corresponding to the different doshas, further demonstrating the connection between food and overall well-being. By blending traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern culinary skills, the students provided both an educational and experiential learning opportunity.

A major highlight of the celebration was the artistic butter carving setup, where nearly 25 kilograms of butter were used to create an intricate sculpture of Lord Dhanvantari, regarded as the god of Ayurveda. This installation served as a symbolic reminder of the importance of health, healing, and nutrition.

The Ayurveda Day celebration not only enriched the students’ academic experience but also spread awareness among the wider community about the relevance of Ayurveda as a timeless science of life.

Scheduled for November 28-29, 2025 at NESCO Mumbai, the hackathon will offer up to ₹50 lakhs worth of prizes and rewards for teams that can build intelligent, autonomous models capable of solving real-world problems across three critical sectors, Healthtech, Fintech and Misinformation.

Following its achievement of the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gen AI Hackathon last year, MumbaiHacks 2025 will shift its focus to the next frontier of artificial intelligence: Agentic AI. Unlike Generative AI, which creates content based on prompts, or traditional AI that follows pre-programmed rules, Agentic AI represents a paradigm shift towards autonomous systems. It can perceive their environment, make decisions, take actions, and continuously learn without constant human intervention. These intelligent agents can proactively identify problems, devise strategies, and execute solutions, marking a transformative leap in how technology interacts with complex, real-world challenges.

The hackathon provides participants access to capital, mentorship, and high-impact networks, empowering tech enthusiasts, early professionals, and future founders to build, launch, and scale their innovations.  It will feature three high-impact tracks, each focused on solving critical, real-world challenges through autonomous and intelligent solutions. In the Healthtech track, participants will design predictive hospital management systems capable of responding to dynamic conditions such as festivals, pollution spikes, and epidemics. These agentic systems will analyze multiple data streams to forecast patient surges and proactively recommend optimal staffing levels, supply allocations, and public advisories—helping healthcare facilities stay prepared and resilient in times of uncertainty.

The Fintech track will challenge teams to build adaptive financial coaching agents that learn from individual user behavior, synthesize diverse financial data sources, and deliver personalized, real-time recommendations. This innovation is particularly vital for gig workers, informal sector employees, and others with irregular income patterns who often remain beyond the reach of conventional financial advisory systems.

The Misinformation track will push innovators to create AI agents capable of scanning vast content ecosystems to detect emerging misinformation trends during crises; be it pandemics, conflicts, or climate events. These systems will verify claims through cross-referencing and generate accessible, contextual explanations to help audiences navigate a flood of conflicting information with greater clarity and confidence.

MumbaiHacks 2025 exemplifies the city’s rapid transformation into India’s most dynamic startup ecosystem. With over 3,000 participants expected and backing from 85+ unicorns and soonicorns through TEAM, the event positions Mumbai as the next major tech and startup powerhouse. The city’s entrepreneurial momentum is backed by impressive fundamentals: 67% of Mumbai’s unicorns are profitable, (the highest in India) and AI-driven enterprises are projected to contribute 15% of the city’s GDP growth by 2035. With 250+ AI startups incubated at IIT-Bombay and top engineering institutions producing 35,000+ engineers annually, Mumbai is nurturing the next generation of AI innovators.

Naiyya Saggi, Governing Council Member, TEAM spokesperson shared, “Agentic AI is the technological intersection where innovation meets autonomy. Beyond standard content generation, we’re building next-gen systems that think, adapt, and act independently to solve critical problems. MumbaiHacks 2025 will challenge and inspire participants to move beyond passive AI tools and create intelligent agents that can transform healthcare delivery, financial inclusion, and information integrity. This is a direct glimpse into the future of AI, replete with its possibilities, and Mumbai is leading the charge.”

Open to participants over 18, the competition will follow a rigorous two-round format. Round 1, the online shortlisting phase running until October 17th, invites teams to submit their proposed solutions. Expert mentors will evaluate submissions based on innovation potential, pain points addressed, target audience, and go-to-market strategy. During Round 2 on November 28-29, shortlisted teams will bring their solutions to life, with the top teams from each track pitching to a panel of judges for their share of the ₹50 lakh prize pool.

The panel of judges for MumbaiHacks 2025 includes PritiRathi Gupta, Founder, LXME (Fintech Track); Siddharth Shah, Co-Founder, PharmEasy (Healthtech Track); Arjun Vaidya, CEO, Dr. Vaidya’s (Healthtech Track); Ashok Hariharan, CEO, IDfy (Misinformation Track) and Deepit Purkayastha, Co-Founder & CEO, Inshorts (Misinformation Track).

Massive Response to “Project Roshni – Vision for All”: 3,500 Screened, 4,000 Awaiting Eye Check-ups at Bharat Diamond Bourse

New Delhi [India], October 9: On 8th October 2025, “Project Roshni –Awareness Today, Vision for life”, an Eye Screening Initiative organized by Making The Difference Charitable Trust by the efforts of Mr. Deepak Vishwakarma, and Ms. Dwiti Mehta in collaboration with its CSR partner International Gemological Institute (IGI), a heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ishwar Iyer and Ms. Sindhu Loyal for their continuous support, has received an overwhelming response from the diamond workforce at Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), Mumbai.

So far, over 3,500 beneficiaries have been screened, while more than 4,000 diamond workers have already registered and are waiting to undergo free eye check-ups in the coming weeks.

The initiative is aimed at providing free, comprehensive eye examinations and spectacles to diamond assorting and polishing labourers—workers whose visual accuracy is essential to the global diamond industry.

This project, aptly named “Roshni” (meaning light), is a joint effort to bring clarity of vision and quality of life to those who spend long hours working on microscopic diamond assortments. Eye strain, blurred vision, and dryness are common occupational hazards among diamond workers, often left untreated due to lack of awareness and access to affordable healthcare.

Under Project Roshni, each beneficiary undergoes a comprehensive vision test, including:

    – Near Vision and Far Vision Test

    – Colour Vision Test

    – Dry Eye Test

    – Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Test

    – Automatic and Manual Refraction Tests

Diagnostics are conducted by 12 qualified optometrists using advanced tools like Auto Refractometers, LED Vision Monitors, Easyton Tonometers, and Ishihara Colour Vision Books. Beneficiaries receive free spectacles on the spot along with a printed report and eye care guidance.

Mr. Anoop Mehta, President of Bharat Diamond Bourse shared:

“We’re glad to see Project Roshni at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, reaching over 7,000 members of the diamond workforce and creating vital awareness about eye health. The knowledge shared will continue to benefit our teams, and we appreciate Making The Difference and IGI for this impactful initiative. We look forward to hosting the next round soon.”

Mr. Mehul Shah, Vice Chairman, Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), said:

“Our diamond workers are the true artisans who give sparkle to the gems that symbolize India’s craftsmanship. Project Roshni – Vision for All is a remarkable initiative that brings vision and wellbeing together. We deeply appreciate IGI and Making The Difference NGO for executing this noble cause within our community.”

Mr. Ishwar Iyer, CEO, International Gemological Institute (IGI), shared:

“First of all, thank you to BDB for enabling this initiative for its employees and recognizing the vital link between eyesight and their craft. At IGI, our focus goes beyond diamonds, it’s about the people who shape them. Through Project Roshni, we aim to ensure that the skilled eyes behind every diamond receive the care they truly deserve, because vision health is not a privilege, but a necessity.”

Mr. Deepak Vikram Vishwakarma, Founder, Making The Difference NGO, added:

“The response to Project Roshni has been phenomenal. Over 4,000 workers are still waiting to be screened, which reflects the urgent need for preventive eye healthcare in this sector. Our mission is to reach every artisan and help them see the world as clearly as the diamonds they shape.”

Ms. Dwiti Mehta, Vice President, Making The Difference NGO, added:

Project Roshni began as a humble initiative to address vision challenges among workers and has now grown into a preventive eye care movement. What started as treatment-focused has transformed into an awareness-driven effort, empowering individuals to take charge of their eye health. It’s heartening to see how Roshni continues to brighten lives by protecting the vision of those who shape our world with their skilled hands. Thank You IGI and BDB for immense support and care.

“Project Roshni – Vision for All” targets 7,000 diamond labourers by October 2025.
The initiative addresses vision issues while promoting eye hygiene and preventive care among industrial workers. A co-branded digital dashboard by IGI and MTD tracks data and progress in real time, encouraging BDB to include regular health camps in its welfare programs.

  • Parfait Pluss to Launch India’s First Full-Scale Plus-Size Lifestyle Marketplace This October

Parfait Pluss to Launch India’s First Full-Scale Plus-Size Lifestyle Marketplace This October

Parfait Pluss – India’s first full-scale lifestyle marketplace

New Delhi [India], October 9: Parfait Pluss, India’s first dedicated plus-size lifestyle marketplace, is set to officially launch this October—ushering in a new era of inclusivity in fashion, wellness, and lifestyle for the country’s 300+ million plus-size individuals.

Originally launched in 2019 as part of the global lingerie brand Parfait (USA), the company entered India through the FDI route and quickly became a pioneer in plus-size lingerie. Over seven years of operations, Parfait built a loyal consumer base and a strong reputation for delivering stylish, size-inclusive lingerie—filling a critical gap in India’s fashion industry.

    The Journey So Far

From 2019 to July 2025, Parfait operated through shop-in-shop formats, leading e-commerce platforms, and its own D2C website. Key milestones include:

    • Customers Served: 3,00,000+
    • Orders Delivered: 2,00,000+
    • Repeat Customers: 68,000
    • India’s First Plus-Size Fashion Show by Parfait – viewed by over 1 million people.
    • First Plus-Size TV Show in partnership with Good Times.

    The Transition to Parfait Pluss

From August 2025, the brand transitions into Parfait Pluss—a 100% Indian-owned company under the leadership of Akhil Kumar Srivastava, alumnus of NIFT Delhi with over 20 years of retail fashion experience at Walmart and Landmark Group.

As the Managing Director and shareholder since 2019, Akhil has spearheaded Parfait’s India journey. With Parfait Pluss, he now envisions creating the world’s first global e-commerce marketplace dedicated entirely to plus-size consumers, starting with India and the USA.

The core team driving this vision includes Vartika Srivastava, Meghna Mohita, Gorav Nayyar, Saloni Ostwal, Nitu Mittal and Yuvan Srivastav

    Market Opportunity

India has over 300 million plus-size individuals (35% of adults), yet fewer than 10% of brands offer sizing beyond XL. The Indian plus-size fashion market alone is projected to exceed USD $1.3 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 8%.

Beyond fashion, this community remains underserved in personal care, wellness, accessories, and lifestyle services. With rising digital adoption, body-positivity movements, and demand from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, the timing is perfect for a specialized, inclusive platform like Parfait Pluss.

    Vision & Mission

    Vision (2025–2030):
To build India’s first and largest plus-size lifestyle marketplace, and expand globally, empowering plus-size individuals in all areas of life.

    Mission:
To serve the unique needs of plus-size men and women by offering:

    • Size-inclusive fashion in diverse styles, colors, and fits
    • Ready-to-wear and ready-to-move apparel
    • Wellness, hygiene, and personal care essentials
    • Accessories and lifestyle products
    • Services that enhance confidence, health, and convenience

The official launch of Parfait Pluss this October marks the beginning of a revolutionary marketplace built exclusively for the plus-size community. With a bold message of independence and dignity, the brand is committed to creating a space where every individual feels represented, valued, and empowered.

“India achieved freedom in 1947. But our plus-size community still awaits freedom in fashion, comfort, and dignity. Parfait Pluss is here to give them that independence.”

Collaboration Invitation-Parfait Pluss is actively inviting Indian startups, MSMEs, and scale-up brands that are building size-inclusive, problem-solving products or services. Together, we aim to create a global platform that places plus-size consumers at the center of design, innovation, and lifestyle—starting from India, for the world.
