  • SAT Acceptability Around the World: An All-Access Pass to Global Higher Education

SAT Acceptability Around the World: An All-Access Pass to Global Higher Education

New Delhi [India], February 20: In today’s interconnected world, students increasingly look beyond national borders for high-quality education. For many of them, the SAT has become more than just an exam, providing a shared language of academic readiness across diverse education systems.

While the SAT was originally designed for college admissions in the United States, its global significance has broadened dramatically. Today, universities in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, India, Singapore, and many other countries across the world increasingly recognise SAT scores as part of holistic admissions.

    United States

In the United States, the SAT remains one of the most widely recognised admission tests for undergraduate study. Long regarded as a cornerstone of U.S. university admissions, the SAT is accepted by nearly all four-year colleges and universities.

Why the SAT Still Matters in the U.S.

Despite the growing trend of test-optional policies at some institutions, the SAT continues to play a significant role:

    • Benchmarking academic readiness: SAT scores allow admissions officers to compare students from different high school systems on a common scale.

    • Scholarship eligibility: Many universities and external scholarship programs use SAT results as part of their criteria.

    • Holistic reviews: SAT scores often complement coursework, essays, recommendations, and extracurriculars, helping to round out a student’s application.

For students eyeing a U.S. education, a strong SAT score still serves as a powerful tool to strengthen their academic profile and stand out in competitive applicant pools.

    Canada

Canadian universities are increasingly welcoming international applicants, and many of them accept SAT scores as part of the admissions review process. While provincial systems vary, SAT scores are particularly useful for applicants whose qualifications don’t directly align with local grading scales.

Role of SAT in Canadian Admissions

    In Canada, SAT results may:

    • Be used to supplement academic records

    • Serve as an alternative for international credentials

    • Enhance applications for competitive programs

Institutions such as University of Toronto, McGill University, University of British Columbia, and Queen’s University consider SAT scores alongside other academic indicators to gain deeper insight into an applicant’s academic preparation.

    Australia

Australia’s universities are known for strong research cultures, diverse campuses, and an appeal to international learners. Many of these institutions accept SAT scores as part of their admissions framework, especially for students from non-Australian curricula.

How SAT Fits into the Australian Admissions Landscape

Australian universities view SAT scores as:

    • An international benchmark for ability

    • A complementary credential alongside school results

    • A tool for streamlined evaluation of international applications

Universities such as University of Melbourne, UNSW Sydney, Monash University, University of Queensland, and University of Sydney list SAT scores in their admissions guidance, using them to better understand applicants whose schooling may not map directly to local systems.

    New Zealand

In New Zealand, SAT acceptability has been gaining traction. While the country’s universities typically base admissions on national or recognised international qualifications, many institutions recognise SAT scores, especially for applicants from diverse educational backgrounds.

Why SAT Works in New Zealand

New Zealand universities appreciate SAT results for several reasons:

    • They provide a consistent evaluation standard

    • They help in assessing students from varied school systems

    • They may support scholarship and placement decisions

Institutions like the University of Auckland, University of Otago, and Victoria University of Wellington view SAT outcomes as valuable supplemental information, helping admissions teams better understand international applicants’ academic capabilities.

    India

In India today, higher education options are rapidly evolving. A growing number of private universities and interdisciplinary programs have begun accepting SAT scores, particularly for students targeting liberal arts, engineering, or international-style curricula.

    SAT’s Role in Indian Admissions

While India’s national entrance exam ecosystem (like JEE, CUET, etc.) remains dominant for many traditional pathways, SAT acceptance is on the rise in several private and globally-oriented institutions. These universities use SAT scores to:

    • Evaluate applicants on an international academic scale

    • Identify high-potential students for competitive courses

    • Offer global pathways and joint degree programs

    Singapore

Singapore is home to world-class universities such as National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). While Singapore commonly uses local entry qualifications like A-Levels or IB, SAT scores are recognised in specific contexts – particularly for international applicants or students from educational systems without a direct qualification match.

    SAT as a Supplementary Tool

    In Singapore, SAT scores can:

    • Offer admissions teams comparative data

    • Support early offers for outstanding candidates

    • Strengthen profiles tied to scholarship evaluations

New Delhi [India], February 19: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced admissions for the third batch of its Certificate Programme in Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence: From Fundamentals to Deployment. As organisations place greater emphasis on dependable, decision-grade intelligence, the programme prepares learners to convert data into scalable solutions—moving from foundational methods to models that perform in real-world environments, underpinned by responsible practice.

The 24-week live online programme, offered through the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi, focuses on applied capability, using modern data science and AI to improve operational efficiency, strengthen forecasting and decision-making, and build automation that remains robust under changing business conditions. It also trains learners to approach AI with the discipline the field now demands, clarity on model behaviour, attention to bias and transparency and accountability in design and deployment. CEP is the statutory body of IIT Delhi for conducting certificate programmes and issuing certificates. The deadline for applications is March 27, 2026.

Industry priorities continue to reinforce this need. S&P Global Market Intelligence has reported that executives most often associate “being more data-driven” with improved business agility and process automation. IBM has also noted that rapid advances in AI, particularly generative AI, are reshaping roles and widening the skills gap as organisations automate more processes and services. Against this backdrop, AnalytixLabs reports that India has 1.3 million AI learners, the highest globally, yet ranks 89th out of 109 in measured AI proficiency, creating a 50–55% talent gap; it further projects demand for nearly one million AI professionals by 2026, with only about half currently qualified to fill these roles.

Speaking at the announcement, Professor Ankur Gupta, Associate Professor, Centre for Applied Research in Electronics (CARE), IIT Delhi said, “The value of AI now depends on whether teams can build models that remain reliable beyond demonstrations, across data drift, operational constraints and real users. This programme develops that applied capability, combining strong fundamentals with hands-on practice and deployment thinking. Participants learn how to frame problems, choose the right methods, validate outcomes and deliver solutions that organisations can trust.”

The curriculum builds competence progressively: it begins with Python-based data handling and analytical thinking and then advances to machine learning techniques used widely in industry. As learners progress, they work on practical modelling workflows and develop familiarity with modern toolchains used for experimentation and iteration. In the later stages, the programme brings the focus to deployment readiness, covering production-facing considerations such as packaging models, working with cloud environments and operational best practices that support monitoring and repeatability. The learning approach remains strongly application-led, including projects that reflect contemporary use-cases such as generative AI and domain-oriented problem solving.

  • Inside Vidyasvam’s Structured Approach to Learning Samskrita

Inside Vidyasvam’s Structured Approach to Learning Samskrita

New Delhi [India], February 19: Samskrita has long been regarded as a language of depth, precision, and intellectual beauty. Yet for many learners today, the thought of studying it can feel overwhelming. Complex grammar rules, unfamiliar script, and traditional learning styles often create hesitation. At the same time, there is a growing desire among professionals, students, and knowledge seekers to understand classical texts in their original form rather than depend solely on translations. What many learners look for is a clear and structured path—one that respects the rigor of the language while making it approachable.

Vidyasvam has built its teaching philosophy around this very need. Its approach to learning Samskrita combines the classical strength of the Pāṇinian grammatical framework with structured teaching methods suited to modern learners. The result is a program that emphasizes understanding, clarity, and practical application rather than memorization. By focusing on foundations and logical progression, Vidyasvam offers a way to learn Samskrita that feels both disciplined and accessible.

A Foundation Rooted in the Pāṇinian System

At the heart of Vidyasvam’s methodology lies the Pāṇinian grammatical tradition. Pāṇini’s Aṣṭādhyāyī is widely recognized for presenting one of the most systematic frameworks for any natural language. Rather than approaching Samskrita as a collection of isolated rules and vocabulary lists, Vidyasvam organizes learning around the underlying principles that hold the language together.

Students are introduced to core elements such as varṇa, prakṛti, pratyaya, sandhi, and kāraka theory in a logical sequence. Each concept builds upon the previous one, enabling learners to see how words are formed, how forms change according to grammatical rules, and how meaning emerges from structure. This systematic framework reduces confusion and replaces guesswork with clarity.

Instead of memorizing lengthy tables without context, learners understand why certain forms exist and how they are derived. This approach strengthens comprehension and lays the foundation for independent study later on.

Building Strong Grammar Before Textual Reading

One of the distinguishing aspects of Vidyasvam’s program is its emphasis on grammar before textual exploration. While many learners are eager to begin reading verses immediately, Vidyasvam ensures that a solid grammatical base is established first. This preparation allows students to approach texts with confidence rather than uncertainty.

By mastering structural concepts early, learners develop the ability to analyze sentences methodically. They begin to identify roots, understand suffixes, dissolve sandhis, and recognize grammatical relationships within a verse. When textual reading begins, students are no longer intimidated because they possess the tools required for proper interpretation.

This step-by-step progression prevents learners from feeling lost midway through their journey. Instead, they experience a steady build-up of competence.

    Integrating Modern Teaching Tools

Although rooted in tradition, Vidyasvam uses contemporary teaching tools to support understanding. Presentations, diagrams, mind maps, and structured learning materials are used to break down complex concepts into manageable sections. Visual aids play an important role in helping learners see connections between rules.

For online participants, recordings of sessions provide flexibility and the opportunity for revision. Learners can revisit challenging topics and reinforce their understanding at their own pace. Regular quizzes encourage active learning and ensure that grammar rules are applied rather than passively absorbed.

Interactive sessions further enhance engagement. Learners are encouraged to ask questions, discuss interpretations, and clarify doubts in a supportive environment. This balance between traditional content and modern delivery methods helps maintain clarity throughout the program.

Emphasis on Application Through Classical Texts

Learning grammar in isolation can feel abstract. Vidyasvam addresses this by integrating application into the course design. Once foundational knowledge has been established, students begin applying concepts to classical texts, especially selections from Vālmīki’s Rāmāyaṇa.

Through guided analysis, learners practice breaking down compound words, identifying kārakas, dissolving sandhis, and arranging words in anvaya to grasp meaning correctly. This practical application deepens understanding and reveals how grammar operates in real literary contexts.

The experience of analyzing a verse independently builds confidence. Students move beyond translating word by word and begin understanding structure and intent. This transition marks a significant turning point in their learning journey.

    Designed for Modern Learners

Vidyasvam’s structured approach is particularly well-suited to professionals and students from analytical backgrounds. Many participants come from fields such as engineering, sciences, medicine, academia, and management. The logic-based structure of Pāṇinian grammar resonates strongly with those accustomed to systematic thinking.

At the same time, the course remains accessible to dedicated beginners. Participants are expected to read Devanagari, possess basic English proficiency, and approach learning with commitment and regular practice. The program encourages discipline but does not assume prior mastery.

Because sessions are organized in a consistent weekly format, learners can balance the course alongside professional and personal responsibilities. This practicality makes sustained learning possible.

    Mentoring and Peer Engagement

Beyond formal instruction, Vidyasvam emphasizes mentoring and peer interaction. Discussion groups allow learners to exchange perspectives and clarify understanding collectively. Often, explaining a concept to another student reinforces one’s own comprehension.

Mentors guide learners through difficult sections, offering steady support. This shared journey reduces isolation and builds a community of learners who are collectively invested in the study of Samskrita.

Such an environment encourages persistence. Learning a classical language demands patience, and the presence of mentors and peers helps sustain motivation.

    Guidance from an Interdisciplinary Scholar

The program is led by Dr. Sridhar Subbanna, whose academic journey spans computer science and Samskrita scholarship. His doctoral research explores parallels between Pāṇini’s grammatical system and modern computational ideas. This interdisciplinary perspective shapes his structured teaching methodology.

His explanations are grounded in logic and clarity, reflecting both traditional training and contemporary understanding. Students often find that his systematic approach demystifies complex sutras and makes them approachable.

This balance of traditional depth and analytical clarity supports learners throughout the course.

    Progressive Skill Development

Vidyasvam’s structured progression ensures that learning does not remain theoretical. Students move from understanding basic grammatical units to performing detailed textual analysis. Each stage builds toward the larger goal of independent reading.

Gradually, learners begin recognizing patterns intuitively. Grammar no longer appears as a maze of rules but as a coherent structure. As confidence increases, the language feels less intimidating and more accessible.

By the end of the program, students are better equipped to pursue advanced Samskrita studies or explore classical literature on their own.

    Conclusion

Inside Vidyasvam’s structured approach to learning Samskrita lies a careful balance between tradition and clarity. The program respects the rigor of Pāṇinian grammar while organizing content in a way that modern learners can absorb steadily. By combining foundational training, guided application, modern tools, and mentoring support, Vidyasvam creates a learning pathway that is disciplined yet approachable.

For those who wish to move beyond surface familiarity and engage deeply with Samskrita, a structured method can make all the difference. Vidyasvam’s approach demonstrates that with clarity, consistency, and logical progression, learning this classical language can be both meaningful and achievable.

  • ATLAS ISDI Brings Design-Led AI Discourse to Campus at AI Impact Pre-Summit

ATLAS ISDI Brings Design-Led AI Discourse to Campus at AI Impact Pre-Summit

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 14:  ATLAS SkillTech University and ISDI – School of Design & Innovation, in association with the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Digital India and IndiaAI, hosted the Official Pre Summit of the AI Impact Summit 2026 at its Mumbai campus. The pre-summit established the ATLAS ISDI campus as a dynamic forum for advancing design-led thinking and future-focused skill development in an AI-driven world, while accelerating national and global dialogue on inclusive, responsible and high-impact AI ahead of the main summit scheduled in New Delhi on 19–20 February 2026.

Highlighting the significance of ATLAS SkillTech University and ISDI’s association with the AI Impact Summit, Siddharth Shahani, Co-Founder and Executive President, ATLAS SkillTech University, said, “India’s AI moment cannot be built on technology alone. This association reflects our shared belief that intelligence must be designed with human intent, strong governance and real social impact. By bringing these conversations into the university ecosystem, we are preparing future designers, technologists and leaders to engage with AI not just as a tool, but as a responsibility.”

The pre-summit, themed “Human-First Intelligence: Learning, Leadership and Social Impact,” featured lightning talks, panel discussions, masterclass and an AI Agent Buildathon, bringing together leaders from academia, industry and policy. Speakers included Sameer Rawal (Digital Impact Square – a TCS Foundation initiative), Neha Shivran (Kissht), Indranil Chandra (Upstox), Arushi Sethi (HurixDigital), Kirti Poonia (Caimera.ai), and Aryan Singh and Rohit Ghosh (Livespace.ai), among others. By hosting these future-shaping conversations on campus and connecting with the AI Mumbai Community to co-create a stronger AI ecosystem, ATLAS SkillTech University reinforced the vital role universities play in developing future-ready leaders equipped to design, govern and deploy AI with responsibility, intent and societal impact.

The pre-summit opened with a keynote address by Siddharth Shahani where he articulated how Design + AI together form India’s new power stack. Emphasising that AI brings speed, scale and optimisation while design provides direction, restraint and human alignment, he reinforced that human-first intelligence is not a feature, but a design choice. He also highlighted the growing importance of multidisciplinary AI talent and reframed data governance as a trust architecture rather than a compliance exercise.

A panel discussion titled ‘Building India’s Impact AI Stack: Data, Design and Governance’ featured Arushi Sethi, Kirti Poonia, Neha Shivran and Sameer Rawal, exploring how India can build scalable, responsible and impact-driven AI systems by aligning thoughtful design, robust data practices and strong governance frameworks.

Industry insights were further strengthened through two lightning talks. Neha Shivran, Co-Founder, Kissht, spoke on measuring the success of AI interventions by linking design and innovation to tangible organisational outcomes. Indranil Chandra, Architect – ML & Data Engineer at Upstox, delivered a session on data governance in agentic AI systems, highlighting governance-by-design, accountability and the risks of ungoverned autonomy.

Hands-on learning formed a core part of the pre-summit through an AI Agent Buildathon led by LYZR.AI, where participants ideated, designed and built autonomous AI agents addressing real-world challenges, demonstrating the critical role of design in shaping intent, behaviour and ethics in intelligent systems. The day concluded with a Livespace.ai Masterclass led by Aryan Singh and Rohit Ghosh, showcasing how AI is transforming spatial design across physical and digital environments.

As the Official Pre-Summit to the AI Impact Summit 2026, the event underscored ATLAS SkillTech University’s commitment to advancing national and global AI discourse through education. By bringing human-first AI conversations into the classroom, the university is actively shaping a generation of leaders equipped to build ethical, inclusive and high-impact AI systems for the future.
