  • Digital marketing expert Sandeep Vashist advises how to be cautious from “Work from home” Scams on social media

New Delhi [India], May 17: We are living in the era of Covid-19 where “Work From Home” culture is the new normal. Today most IT companies are offering work from home for their employees to keep them safe from this virus. Many have lost their jobs in this pandemic and are struggling to find work offline or online to feed their families. This situation of unemployment has activated scamsters who target innocent people on social media by offering them high payout jobs while working part-time from home.

Sandeep Vashist, a leading digital marketing expert and political consultant from Delhi, who is working with politicians, entrepreneurs and corporate clients is on our panel and shared with us valuable information on how to save ourselves from online Scams and frauds.

On asking how online scammers target innocent people, Sandeep said “It is easy to find a person who has recently lost his job in this pandemic, usually scamsters create a fake account on social media and offer easy money while working from home. If a person is not so attentive, he or she easily falls into the trap and shares their personal details, bank ID, passwords and even OTP to get easy money. “

Police data shows that the most common cybercrime was credit/debit card fraud, Facebook-related cases of cheating are third on the list and around 84,545 fraud cases – involving about Rs 1.85 lakh crore were reported by scheduled commercial banks and select FIs during 2019-20, an RTI activist said, citing information received from the Reserve Bank of India.

On asking how to remain safe from these fraudsters, Sandeep Vashist suggested using common sense. He said, “Nothing comes free in this world. If someone calls you and says you have won any lottery or amount, ask them to give the complete amount to charity.” He added, “Another way of fraud is creating a fake profile on social media of your friends and relative and then they message you and seek financial help. Scammers have been known to use emotion and urgency to convince people with a loved one is in financial trouble and needs funds quickly.”

Few suggestions are shared by Sandeep Vashist which will help you keep your information safe and to identify online frauds:

    1. Change passwords regularly of your accounts
    2. Do not entertain freebies and lottery calls & messages.
    3. While shopping online trust only reputed and encrypted websites.
    4. Check your social media privacy settings.
    5. Be careful when using public Wi-Fi.
    6. Do not buy products on Marketplace without reviews and full payment in advance.
    7. If your friend needs financial help, call him personally instead of chatting online.

Sandeep has been involved in Seminars for social media security, digital marketing & political strategies. He manages the social media accounts of many politicians and corporate brands.

  • Khushhal Kaushik, the founder of Lisianthus Tech, received the Glory of India Award 2020

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], May 15: Whenever we talk about cybersecurity, the mind instantly visualizes representatives and ethical hackers from countries like the US, Russia, Sweden and more. India is often overlooked as a rising cybersecurity superpower. However, this notion is being rewritten by our very own cybersecurity veteran, Mr. Khushhal Kaushik, who has bagged the super-prestigious Glory of India Award 2020 recently by the Indian achiever forum.

The award is given to professionals and veterans across diverse fields and streams to recognize their excellence, merit, and the propelling of a nation’s growth through their achievements.

With this recognition, Khushhal nails India’s presence on the global cybersecurity forum, who was also a key player in putting it on a global pedestal in the first place. Besides, Khushhal has made the entire nation proud and turned a few heads towards us to be seen as a rising cybersecurity superpower.

Khushhal also joins the bandwagon of awardees of the award that Kiran Bedi, former IPS officer and Lt. Governor of Puducherry, and Sushil Kumar, the Olympian, besides many others.

Why Cybersecurity Is Crucial In 2021?

With the definitive Make in India initiatives announced by the Indian government and estimates reporting that over 5 billion devices would connect to the internet in the coming months and years, India needs to lay down solid cybersecurity plans and policies.

This is where veterans like Khushhal would come in and deliver game-changing recommendations for implementation. Khushhal, who has already been raising awareness of data and smartphone security to the general public, and has been also featured by UNESCO’s annual magazine two times. For the publication process, he also requests that his nationality be published along with his work to ensure the world takes note of the phenomenal progress happening in the country and how independent cybersecurity professionals are driving the change.

Besides, Khushhal is also a believer in collaboration between government and private entities to efficiently handle cybersecurity threats. He firmly believes that authorities should prefer home-grown cybersecurity experts to bring in foreign experts to strategize cybersecurity plans and policies.

Being conferred the award adds another feather to Khushhal’s hat, where he shares that the selection process is as tedious as it gets. Evaluation procedures went on for months before the panel confirmed that he was a recipient.

Besides this recognition, Khushhal was also hailed by Samuel Bocetta as the future of cybersecurity in India. Samuel is a retired defence analyst for the US Navy. Khushhal was also appointed to BRICS CCI as a cyber security advisor.

Khushhal’s winning of the award arrives right on time as people are gradually waking up to the importance of their data, how it is accessed, stored and used by market players across the world.

As the world realizes the importance of privacy and the implications of instances like phishing attacks, identity thefts and more, the need is more than ever to have stronger and more scalable cybersecurity policies. And as long as there are experts like Khushhal on our side, we could be sure that our digital footprints are safe and secured. But that does not mean that responsibility is not on us.

In fact, Khushhal believes it is people who should primarily take charge of their online security and be responsible and aware of their internet usage. With him working on several projects currently and spearheading operations at Lisianthus Tech, we sure have safer days coming.

  • Dr. Ratnav Ratan made it possible for a girl with distal arthrogryposis to walk normally.

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], May 14: Strange are the ways of God! Children born with congenital conditions have a tough life ahead, along with their parents and family members who are their primary caregivers. Doctors can resolve these congenital complications either to some extent or entirely, depending upon varied factors with advancements in the medical world. And, for the treating doctors become their savior and next to God!

It was a sad plight for a 3-year-old Iraqi girl born with distal arthrogryposis who could not balance herself and had frequent falls. It was becoming difficult for her parents to look after her daily.

Online research on treatment available for distal arthrogryposis led them to Dr. Ratnav Ratan, an orthopedist in Gurgaon, and the founder-owner of Young Bones Clinic, with more than seven years of hands-on experience in treating children with orthopedic disorders.  He agreed to treat her and make her walk her normally after studying her preliminary report and investigations.

Dr. Ratnav, an Orthopedic doctor in Gurgaon states, ‘The girl was diagnosed with Distal Arthrogryposis or Freeman Sheldon syndrome (FSS) as she had a whistling face appearance, camptodactyly, and thumb-in-palm deformity. Her feet were very stiff, and they were turned in with soles facing upwards. As she was a medical tourist, I had the challenge of treating her in a limited time frame and making her walk normally.’

He further adds that children with distal arthrogryposis are likely to have joint and spine abnormalities and are likely to fall often, unable to walk or stand independently. They could also complain of breathing, feeding, or speech-related issues which worsen with age.

Distal arthrogryposis or Freeman Sheldon syndrome occurs due to the non-movement of the fetus within the womb. At times, the baby’s central nervous system is unable to send signals to muscles for movement leading to poorly developed or underdeveloped muscles and the formation of extra tissues in the joint. The other reasons are less space in the womb for movement or leakage of amniotic fluid.

    Path forward

Dr. Ratnav planned a single-stage correction of both feet deformities after conducting a clinical examination and a series of in-depth testing including CT-Scans, and x-rays. Dr. Ratnav suggested a single-stage correction procedure of both the feet deformities as they were likely to stay in India for a short duration to which her parents agreed.

Dr. Ratnav and his team performed multiple procedures in single operative sitting viz. a posteromedial release with multiple tendon tenotomies, Z lengthening of tendon Achilles, anterior calcaneal shortening in both feet.

It was a successful operation, with the plasters removed after six weeks of the surgery. The patient had recovered well. The entire family was extremely pleased with the outcome of the surgery and improvement in the mobility of their child. Indeed, it was a life-saver of sorts’ surgery for the girl and her parents.

Today, the patient is a young girl who is growing very well. She can walk, play and run as a normal child. She can walk with her entire soles and heels of the feet on the ground.

In case the girl had not received further treatment for her Distal Arthrogryposis condition, her deformity would have worsened with painful joints and the development of arthritis.

Arthrogryposis in Children and their future

As arthrogryposis is a congenital condition detected even before the child is born through an ultrasound test.  The doctors can brief the parents about this condition, but eventually, early detection and treatment go a long way in recovering the child’s mobility in the best possible manner.

Each child with arthrogryposis is different. In some children, the condition is mild. It affects only a few joints, and these joints have almost as much movement as normal. In other children, the condition is more serious. It affects more joints and restricts their movement more. In extreme cases, arthrogryposis affects nearly every joint and every physical action. Otherwise, children with these conditions are quite normal with good cognitive and language skills.

As one of the leading pediatric orthopedic surgeons in Gurgoan, Dr. Ratnav Ratan, in conversation with ClinicSpots, a leading healthcare portal, states, “Early detection and treatment go a long way in children born with arthrogryposis. A comprehensive treatment approach is essential for treating such children. With the right pediatric orthopedic attention and treatment, we can resolve their deformities before they attain full growth. We, as pediatric orthopedists, focus on making them move normally and independently in the best possible manner for their well-being.”

Dr. Ratnav Ratan is available for consultation at W Pratiksha Hospital, Sec 56 – Gurgaon and patients can call on +911244131091 for appointments.

  • Post-Pandemic Depression and how to deal with it; Aanchal Narang Psychologist explains the basics

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 14: To help the readers cope with the ongoing pandemic Aanchal Narang addresses some basic issues affecting the mental health of the general population.

The shared experiences of a global pandemic call for its own set of questions to address. And one of these questions is,

    “What happens after this?”

Extended isolation and social distancing bring with it depression, anxiety, touch starvation, and several other small and big traumas. Post-pandemic, these issues are not likely to just go away. So what happens next is that you allow yourself to process in order to heal, and if needed, get professional help, advises Aanchal Narang who is experiencing additional caseloads at her clinic due to the pandemic situation.

Dealing with grief, loss, isolation, abusive households, loss of a job, and loss of a regular life so to say, will inevitably mean that you have a whirlwind of emotions to deal with says, Aanchal Narang, Psychologist, and Another Light Counselling. You are also going through the loss of a “regular” life, where you’re unable to do your favorite activities, socialize normally, or basically experience any human contact. After life reverts to “normal,” you will have to deal with a completely new set of emotions. You won’t be the same person you were before. The pandemic takes its toll and you will inevitably feel weak and overwhelmed. In times like those, show yourself some self-compassion. Allow yourself to feel your pain, and address how you can work on these emotions to make yourself feel better.

According to Aanchal Narang, COVID is not just a here-and-now phenomenon. It will have a lasting impact on how the world functions and how you personally function as well, even when it no longer exists. With the overwhelming emotions, there are a few things that you should do to help yourself.

    • Work-from-home might become the new norm. Find ways to make this a bearable, if not fun, experience for yourself.
    • Look for new experiences that you can truly enjoy for yourself. Solo activities were essential pre-pandemic, but they are all the more important now to keep your mind busy and uncluttered.
    • While social distancing and self-isolation mean a lack of physical human contact, find new people to interact with online. Hold game nights with your friends, join a community, find people with who you can spend time and who make you happy.

The journey to self-compassion does not start later. COVID is a difficult situation where you need to be able to deal with your mental health in a non-detrimental manner. Give yourself time to feel bad about things, process those feelings, and then work on your healing, connect to things that motivate you, and indulge in hobbies to beat the depression says, Aanchal Narang.

The consequence of not doing so could be burnout. You might be unable to find the motivation to keep living the way you do. Finding things that make you happy and healthy are essential to prevent the feeling of despair from taking over. Feeling overwhelmed is normal, how you deal with that feeling is a skill you need to hone.

    Dealing with Grief

Mid-pandemic, a big emotion that a lot of us have to deal with is grief. Grief is a natural response to loss and it can be overwhelming because you’ve just had someone or something you dearly loved taken away from you.

According to Anchal Narang, Psychologist, Another light Counselling, the process of grieving and coping with the sense of loss is complex, and you should look for professional help when dealing with these emotions.

What are the stages of grief?

We’ve all heard about the stages of grief (first enumerated by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross) wherein people dealing with loss tend to go through five major stages. Not everyone goes through all of these stages nor does it happen sequentially for everyone.

    1. Denial: When you can’t acknowledge the event at all and therefore, cannot acknowledge your pain.
    2. Anger: You start to question the cause for the event and look for someone to blame; whether it be yourself or someone else.
    3. Bargaining: You tend to bargain with the universe itself, offering anything in return for reversal of the event.
    4. Depression: Here, the grief incapacitates you to the point you don’t want to do anything but wallow in unprocessed emotions.
    5. Acceptance: You acknowledge the event as well as the subsequent pain that came with it.

How do I deal with grief?

The inevitable pain that comes with grief is something that you have to come to terms with on your own and everyone has a different coping process says Aanchal Narang, Psychologist. A few ways to do so are:

    1. Acknowledge your pain. Unresolved grief can also lead to complications such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and health problems. Add a global pandemic to the mix, finding healthy ways to process your pain is difficult- but even more necessary.
    2. Accept that grief can trigger many different and unexpected emotions.
    3. Understand that your grieving process will be unique to you. While the pandemic affects everyone, your loss is personal to you. There is no wrong or right way to process these emotions- find a way that helps you.
    4. Seek out face-to-face support from people who care about you. Family and friends in similar situations mean that you have a community for your grief. Reaching out can help you deal with a lot of the emotions you feel.
    5. Support yourself emotionally by taking care of yourself physically.
    6. Recognize the difference between grief and depression.

At this point, you need to look for professional help. Depression needs help that is different from the process of grieving. The faster you get help, the less likely you are to fall into a spiral of unresolved emotions. With professional help, you can equip yourself with a set of tools that are unique to your pain and how you want to work through it.

  • Mobile Salon App- All Salon Under One Roof

New Delhi [India], May 14: Mobile Salon (A Venture of Think Better Services & Entertainment Private Limited) aims for the betterment and empowerment of salon and beauty professionals, as well as their beloved customers, making their lives easier. Platforms like Mobile Salon propose a real and simple solution to turn customer frustration into customer satisfaction. Mobile Salon is a mobile application created to help people get the best salon services within few clicks.

With technological advances, various service industries have turned to mobile apps for reaching more customers and making it easier for them. We now have the choice to browse through different salons in our city and book services instantly. If you’re a business owner, you can take your services online with this app. The registration process is simple to follow and will connect you with many customers. https://mobilesalon.in/

Mr. Parveen, Mr. Gautam and Mr. Sachin created this platform to connect local salons to the digital platform. This is an industry that hasn’t been integrated with on-demand mobile applications yet. A customer might have to wait in long queues at the salon or parlour, and this becomes difficult if he/she requires any urgent service. This app lets users book appointments in advance or find salons that don’t have much crowd to fulfil their immediate requirements.

Together, they are set to create history in the salon industry. At present, the app has over 10,000 active users and over 19,700 downloads from different locations. Many local salons have registered on the app, i.e., the revenue has been over 2 Lakh rupees. “We are honored to have KikuSharda and ShyamRangeela as Brand Ambassadors of Mobile Salon”, says Mr. Sachin. The Brand Ambassador program is a part of creating awareness about the mobile app and its services amongst the youth.

    Solving your everyday Salon problems

In this modern era, people want every service fast & without hassle. And they don’t have time to make their appointment by coming to your salon every time. This is not a problem that affects me individually or affects the people in India. This is a global problem. The app is focused on solving all those issues that arise with making booking appointments or getting a salon service on an urgent basis. You might call the salon for an appointment, and the person might not receive your call. This delays your schedule. Or you might reach the salon without making an appointment. Our app lets you find free time slots, and you can book the one which fits your schedule the best.

While you might not feel safe to call Beauticians at your home, the app has a better solution for you. Find the best salons in an area, book an appointment, make online payments and get your invoice immediately. The booking services are open 24×7 so that you can enjoy a seamless experience.

The company aims at providing a VIP salon experience to its users. They follow ethics to stay transparent and honest with their services. The main focus is to make lives easier for the customer and the Salon experts and beauty professionals. You will be able to access all the local salons in your area with a single click.

    Challenges Faced

“The challenges are endless when it comes to building a brand from scratch. One of the biggest obstacles for us has been spreading awareness amongst the masses. Since our app is a new idea, we must help people understand why it is worth exploring. We follow some marketing strategies so that customers start identifying our brand. This will help us reach more locations and open your app services in the coming years.” said Mr. Sachin, CEO of Mobile Salon.

    The Eureka Moment

Coming up with such a brilliant idea wasn’t a magic moment. Mr. Parveen shares how Mobile Salon came into existence – “We focused on industries that are still untapped and haven’t been explored or transferred to the digital platform. After some research, we found out that the salon is one such industry that has great potential. We decided to take it to the next level by creating the Mobile Salon app. The Eureka moment would be when we identified the customer’s problems with the salon services right now. This helped us come up with the app idea.” The best part is that you might get to know about this app from your friends as the app’s recommendations are pretty high. We noticed that more than 390 people had recommended 5 to 35 this brand new app which is quite impressive for a start-up.
