  • Vishvaraj Environment Becomes India’s 1st & Largest PPP To Complete Waste Water Reuse Project in Record Time During Pandemic Period

    Mumbai, Maharashtra [India] : Rising urban population and growing industrialisation have taken a toll on water resources in India and rivers once worshipped have turned into sewage canals. The Urban Water Cycle and depleting water resources have called for an integrated approach comprising of Water Supply and Sewage Treatment with Reuse as the only solution to this looming crisis in India. In fact, 15,000 Million Litres of Municipal and Industrial Waste are released into the holy Ganga river every day and other rivers across the country are facing the same fate. Vishvaraj Environment Pvt Ltd has created a record of sorts by treating sewage water and reusing it in in record time in partnership with Nagpur Municipal Corporation during Covid period. The Nagpur Reuse Project, a PPP model has now become India’s largest waste water project as it involved collection of 200 MLD of sewage from rivers and augmenting a 100 MLD STP to 200 MLD with Reuse of treated water as final goal.

    Nagpur, a bustling city with a 27-lakh population was consuming 700 MLD of fresh water daily roughly 80% translating to ~550 MLD converted in sewage. The only solution to this issue was treating sewage and REUSING it. Nagpur’s sewage flowed through three rivers cum drains viz. Pivali, Pohra and Nag. This polluted the famous Gosikhurd Dam, a source of fresh water and irrigation. The Hon’ble High Court on a petition ordered action to bridge the gap of sewage generation and treatment. For Nagpur Municipal Corporation, it was financially impossible to meet this requirement and hence took a PPP route focusing on Reuse of the treated sewage water.

    Vishvaraj Environment Pvt. Ltd. was selected through a competitive bidding process for 30 years. Entire project was built though 100% private investment making it the largest and the first STP on PPP model. The real innovation was Reuse of this sewage treated water by the industry. MAHAGENCO, the state power generation utility agreed to using treated sewage at its two power plants.

    Alongside a path-breaking policy by Ministry of Power made it mandatory for power plants across India to use treated sewage water, if available within a 50 km radius. The cost was allowed as a pass-through tariff by power plants making it financially sustainable.

    Work on a 200 MLD STP and Reuse phase commenced in June 2018, with MahaGenCo going to use 190 MLD for its Khaparkheda and Koradi plants. The challenge involved laying a 1,500 mm dia pipeline through dense urban areas and crossing railway lines at six locations.  The project was completed 9 months ahead of its designated construction period of two years that too in the peak pandemic situation.

    Mr. Arun Lakhani, CMD, Vishvaraj Environment expressed his views on the Reuse philosophy saying, “Water Sustainability is a term which should remind us all, how inadequately we are coping with these subjects. This is slowly becoming critical for humanity. The Nagpur Reuse Project was conceptualized keeping reuse as a central theme. The potential for reuse at Thermal Power Plants is 8 billion litres per day initially. Indian cities are growing rapidly and water supply to the cities already scarce. The reuse initiative would release fresh water for 8 crore people. Our cities will have to look for the newer avenues for water security and Nagpur reuse model can act as a torch bearer for the cities.”

    The project proved to be a winner for everyone – municipality got a facility, city got its

    future fresh water needs taken care off for 35 years and the power plants secured water supply. Citizens benefitted as sewage is treated and fresh water freed up.

    For the remarkable execution of this path-breaking project, Vishvaraj Environment bagged the first prize at the FICCI water award 2020 held virtually on 16 February 2021.

  • Tagore’s debut as an Author of “The Emperor Cried”

    Goa, [India] : The Goan born scriptwriter, film director and producer TAGORE ALMEIDA, a poet, podcaster and now an author. He lives in Singapore with his wife and daughter as a full-time technology professional working for a Fortune 500 corporation.  He is the founder of The Uncultured Company, a non-profit group he started to promote peace and tolerance using various mediums of Art.

    His book The Emperor Cried, releases all over India on the 28th of Feb 2021, and a week later on all International online portals. This is Tagore’s first book as an author. The book, written as a fairy tale, examines the fact that from the time we are born, we are given beliefs and we spend an entire lifetime defending it, often fearful of thinking outside of the box. The book is a journey of an individual who spends a major part of his life only to one day, stand up against that authenticity of the Emperor, who we are all made to believe is the creator of all.

    “It was a very emotional journey as I began to write this story”, Tagore states, “as I’ve spent most of my life trying to find a connection with the Emperor. Having realized that most of the major defined paths by humanity were often hypocritical and had to really do with wealth and fame by the folk at the head of these cults, I had given up on these.” Tagore was raised a Catholic in Goa, and was introduced to Hinduism in London. “While in Dubai, I lived Islam and then finally Christianity. I always left these by taking the best from each one. However, in the recent year, I have given it all up, personally coming to the conclusion that the Emperor is either a myth or people were selling a version of this Emperor to the world for their own benefit. In the midst of all that is happening in this world, why does this Emperor not react. Why are women being raped while merely returning home from a long day at work? Why are kids abused and deprived of their childhood? Why are men in huge organizations allowed to exploit the poor? Is this the creation of an Emperor, a reflection of his love?”

    As a Filmmaker and a scriptwriter, his debut in Bollywood as script writer for science fiction film ALAG (2006) starring Akshay Kapoor and Dia Mirza, special Appearances by Bollywood Stars such as Arjun Rampal, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Bipasha and Lara Dutta.  Produced by celebrated photographer Subi Samue, and Directed by respected veteran director Ashiu Trikha.

    Later he produced the short film “USS DIN”, starring Rajkumar Rao. He then made the film “A GOD OF SINNERS” showcased at various festivals such as the “Cannes Short film centre” and “Asians On Films festival” in LA. The film starred Shashank Arora as one of the leading characters. Since then he has directed short films such as “AN ENCOUNTER IN THE WILDERNESS”, followed by “ALIVE”, then “BLINK”. He was to shoot his latest film “THE FORGIVENESS” with actor Neil Nithin Mukesh but had to move it until mid-2021 due to the pandemic.

    He started podcasting in December 2020 with two separate series, A PINT OF IMBECILE WISDOM and THE ART OF HUMANITY. Available on Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Both podcasts try to have conversations for a better world. Season 2 of the podcast will commence in Dec 2021.

    Tagore was raised in Goa until the age of 15 and then moved to London, England where he graduated in Computer Studies. He then moved on to work for a few years at a local software house in the UK. It was during this time that he attended film classes at the London Filmmakers Co-op.  Tagore then moved to Dubai, UAE, where he spent two decades working for various organizations until he was transferred to Singapore.     Ms.Biijal Shah is a shining example of just that…A Self-made Woman.

    Humble beginnings

    Born and raised in God’s own country Kerala, by doting parents who operated a business of eco-friendly, organic coir merchandise. Being weaker in academics than most counterparts, Biijal found herself as the underdog in her school. A childhood subjected to continuous bullying and persecution made her reclusive and withdrawn, devoid of friends.

    However, Bijjal stood out from the rest due to her excellent communication skills and confidence in front of an audience. She took to the stage like a fish does to water, and excelled in elocution and performance-based activities. This natural flair for presentation made her a valuable asset in procurement and marketing of the family business at the tender age of fifteen years.

    Her cause

    Through first hand personal experience, Biijal empathized with children who struggled with the challenges of academics. She believed that there are strengths and qualities is us all, that compensate for individual weakness. Taking the onus upon herself to bring about a change, Biijal abandoned her comfortable role in the family business. She focused her energy in Education and Skill Development.

    Journey to Le Exceller

    Biijal took up coaching, her intention was to reach out to as many students as possible. She associated with corporate organizations and training academies, catering to the tutorage of professional skills viz. hospitality, aviation, business coaching, marketing, etc.

    She was felicitated for single-handedly establishing training centres pan India and was instrumental in generating a seven-figure revenue for the company. Her fundamental calling was to reach out to students, and help them recognize and enhance their skills. Biijal relentlessly spearheaded campus drives and seminars across the nation, and successfully mentored hundreds of students in career counselling. It was on one campus recruitment drive, in the midst of an interview with a post graduate student, when Biijal came upon an astounding realization. The student, specialized in finance was unable to answer a basic question in math. This was a moment of revelation that altered her focus henceforth. She would now draw attention to the importance of Skilling and practical expertise along with academic certifications.

    “People have degrees and qualifications in-hand, but are yet unemployed. Skill Development needs to be strongly implemented for a better future of the Nation.” And she stood by her words, determined to fight the persisting menace of unemployment in the country, by skilling the youth adequately.

    Spoke in the wheel

    Her relentless pursuit to fulfil her cause was not without challenges. As National Head of a globally renowned training academy, Biijal overcame obstacles posed by political workers, and the slander of falsified propaganda. Nevertheless, giving up was something she had never learned. Every hardship, oppression and discrimination she had overcome in the past fuelled her tenacity and resolve. She sought legal assistance and emerged victorious.

    This was an eye-opening experience. All the substantial achievements and monumental accomplishments she acquired through honesty and dedication was not immune to disloyalty and deceit. “It is only those who are closest that can hurt you the most.”

    Unable to accept the betrayal of a trusted counterpart, Biijal was devasted, she felt shattered and could visualize her life falling apart. She could feel the anxiety and depression starting to creep in.

    Never give up

    “A person is just one decision away from an extremely new life…falling down is not defeat. Refusing to GET up is!” and GET UP she did. Taking a firm grip on her life was key, controlling what she could control. And she started small with simple disciplined living.

  • Vikram Montrose and Redbay Productions release their new song ‘Yaara Re’ featuring Turaab Khan – A song based on a sad love story

    Mumbai, Maharashtra [India] : After the superhit song ‘Kar Har Maidaan Fateh’ done for Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt’s starrer movie ‘Sanju’ , Vikram Montrose collaborates with Turaab Khan for his new song. Turaab Khan, a rising actor and founder of Redbay Productions, released his third song today Titled ‘Yaara Re’, this video song portrays a love story with a sad ending. The song is directed by  Frank A. Caruso, an Italian film producer. Yaara Re has been sung by Ali Aslam Shah and is categorised under the Sufi genre.

    Turaab Khan is an Indian  actor, born in Uttarkashi and raised in Delhi, his teacher suggested he pursue the entertainment industry. He started his career by working with Colonel Kapoor, known for casting Shahrukh Khan in Fauji. Turaab Khan starred in Colonel Kapoor’s ‘Ek Aur Fauji’, and went on miles to follow his career. He joined well-known theatre personality Barry John, and worked with him for two years, while further learning and improving his art of acting.

    He started his production company – Redbay Productions and produced two songs belonging to different genres. His first song ‘Judah Ho Gaye’ was released in March 2020 which garnered over 1 million views, which was sung by Raja Hasan and starred Turaab Khan as the protagonist in the short story-based song. His second song ‘Udta Teer’ is a Goa-themed Bollywood song, sung by Aamir Ali and features Turaab Khan. This song was released in December 2020 and has been growing its reach owing to its quirky lyrics. ‘Yaara Re’ is Turaab’s third song under the banner of Redbay Productions, where the song is shot in Canada and features Alyssa DiMarco, a well-known Canadian actress.

    On the release, Turaab Khan said, “The real talent of an artist is not about playing roles in the same genre again and again, but about exploring different genres and giving the audience a newer experience with every release. ‘Yaara Re’ will be loved by the audience as it portrays a very beautiful yet saddening love story, of a man who falls in love with a woman and how the circumstances change everything about life.”

    Turaab Khan idolises Rajnikant and watching his movies inspired him to join the industry. He loves the work of the late Raj Kapoor and Yash Chopra, and their way of presenting romance and love stories in the Indian cinema. Turaab is working on several new projects and Dheet, Qurbaan and Rehnuma are his upcoming projects to be released soon.
