  • Dr. Sarita Sharma’s Debut Poetry Collection Days V Launched

Days V is an intense study of human lives in verse and echoes love, loss, living, connections, betrayals, and a range of emotions.

New Delhi [India], August 27: Noted author and academician Dr. Sarita Sharma’s debut poetry collection Days V, a retelling of human lives in verse, has been launched.

The poems in Days V echo love, loss, living, ageing, connections, betrayals, the trauma of an abusive childhood, and everything humane through myriad imagery and varied voices.

From an old person rocking his chair, a woman desperately looking for a place to call her own in a crowded city, a small town girl dancing to the tunes of Sheeran, and a poetess trying to compose a few lines amidst the jugglery of a hectic life, the poems cover it all.

The poems are an intense study of human lives and picture the lives of ordinary people in big cities, of small-town middle-class values, of women, of loneliness, of the tiring routine of everyday life, but it would be wrong to categorise them as dark or despondent. While she talks of the injustice that life is for many of us, there is always a positive note in her words.

The poems promise a delightful sojourn through words that transport readers to a forgotten world in increasingly hectic lives. At times narrative, soliloquy at others, and nostalgic on occasions, Dr. Sharma’s poems bring a breath of fresh air. She has crafted the poems in a master weave, creating patterns that subtly reveal the mysteries of lives.

“I have tried to present what I have seen and observed over the past several years. I have been blessed to have received tremendous love and support from readers, and I am confident Days V will be very well received too,” says Dr. Sharma, who, besides being an author and now poet, is also an academician, Keynote Speaker and life coach. She has presented as Resource Person and Keynote Speaker in various national and international meets. She also moves around conducting workshops on Creative Writing.

Dr. Sarita Sharma has been writing for a few years now and has nine books to her credit across diverse genres. She published her first book, Of Myriad Voices, a collection of short stories in English, in 2017.

Apart from writing and editing books Dr. Sharma has also translated two novels from regional Indian languages into English. She recently launched her translated fiction, Swades- My Motherland, published by Sahitya Akademi. Apart from writing she is also passionately involved with women’s issues and works for the cause of gender equality. She also serves as editor in chief of Magazine of the Future of US-based Transdisciplinary Agora for Future Discussions (TAFFD’s)

Days V is available at leading bookstores across the country and major e-commerce platforms, in paperback and other versions.

  • Engineer turned into Astrologer, Music Producer & Became a TEDx Speaker.

August 27: Today, we have the Youngest Astrologer invited to the TEDx event from India and across the world. He is serving people from all over the world. Even some celebrities from Bollywood are also in his clientele. He is an Astrologer and a fantastic Music Producer who has made Music for brands like Zomato, Gomechanic, Real Juice, SpiceJet & many more.

Question: Every story has a beginning; tell us how it all began? What inspired you to study astrology?

Reply: It began in my late teens, precisely during my boards. Back in Agra, I was always a good student, and astronomy fascinated me. However, my mark sheet never supported my diligence or intelligence. One day, my parents decided to take me to an astrologer to find out the cause of the not-so-impressive mark sheets.

The astrologer pointed many Doshas or malefic combinations in my chart and held them responsible for the unfair results of the exams.

He took a substantial amount from my parents to perform “remedies” for me. I still remember it was a chilly and foggy January morning, and I woke up to take a dip in the river to perform the veneration or Hawan. My hands froze during the ritual, and my digits ached with numbness. Hahaha! I was wondering why I am being subjected to this torture.

But I didn’t see a speck of improvement in my academic scores. After a while, I found another astrologer who rejected the existence of any Dosha in my chart. Instead, he gave a pragmatic and straightforward remedy which helped me more than anything else. And I realized that astrology is not fake but finding a genuine astrologer is one of the hardest nuts to crack.

Q: I see! However, we all know that you’re an engineer and a musician too. How did that happen?

Reply: Honestly, I aspired to be a musician, but I was equally good in science (as you know Middle class me Doctor, Engineer se upar nahi sochte, to un me se main Engineering mein acha tha, So I dropped engineering not by force but by choice and started exploring the world of Music and Later I started studying astrology also (as I had a varied interest) with total devotion and then I realized that my interest in Music wasn’t accidental. I was destined to be a music producer.

Meanwhile, I started giving random predictions to friends and family. I was testing my knowledge, but to my surprise, people started coming back to me saying that my prediction hit the bullseye. During this time, my predictions reached one astrology enthusiast, who invited me to the “TEDx Talk.” I am the youngest astrologers to speak at TEDx Talk. It encouraged me to start pursuing astrology professionally.

Q: That was indeed a magical story. And during my research, I came across your Instagram. I was genuinely impressed with your take on Indian mythology. Would you like to tell us about it?

Reply: Honestly, it can be called a by-product of my astrological experiments. I was taught a lot of mythical stories by my mother when I was growing up in Agra. But the astrological texts fueled my curiosity to explore more. My YouTube channel is another effort to educate the youth about our rich heritage.

Q: So, how do you describe yourself as an astrologer, a musician, or a mythologist?

Reply: (Giggles) I think being an engineer or science geek has always helped me keep myself practical and logical towards Vedic science. Music has helped me understand people’s emotions, and astrology has given me the knowledge. So when you have all these three “Logic,” Emotion,” & “Knowledge”, then I think you can become a better person and guide.

Q: That was very smart! What are your plans ahead?

Reply: I want to produce more Music, and I want to show the authentic Vedic Astrology and depth so that people can recognize the potential of this ancient science of India.

Q: Where have you learned Astrology & Music? Do you have or had any gurus?

Reply: Initially, I started with self-study, and later, I began learning Astrology from Late Shri Santlal Kumar but right now, I am under the guidance of Shri Shubham Alok only. As I believe, you can’t excel without Guru’s blessings.

I learned Music under Ustad Mohsin Niazi from Agra Gharana.

Q: What irks you most as an astrologer?

Reply: Inability of people to accept the truth and inability to look beyond Money & Relationship.

Q: A message for our readers?

Reply: According to our Vedas, life is perishable, which is the blunt truth. But Humans are accustomed to seven blessings in life, but nobody has them all, not even Gods. So whenever you feel discouraged, remember this thought and keep progressing in life.

  • Priya Shah, the Number One Wedding Matchmaker in India and Abroad

Dr. Priya Shah, The Elite Matchmaker

August 25: Who says it is easy being a millennial? Being a single Indian millennial who is on the lookout to make an engaging and meaningful connection at the right age is not less challenging. Matchmaking is not an easy job; it needs a single person to see the point of view of age-old traditions and beliefs of not one but two individuals.

Although stats show that weddings were affected because of the restrictions on the gathering, that did not stop people from getting married and finding the best match. With an estimated 450 million mobile internet users, India’s information technology revolution is transforming the matrimonial market, traditionally dominated by marriage negotiators and intermediaries and ads in newspapers. But online matchmaking services are encroaching.

Today many youngsters are changing the way elite matchmaking works. The youngsters today have access to find someone they can truly connect with entirely. A hands-on experience is required to understand the requirements of an individual with respect to premium matchmaking. An elite matchmaker is aware of the requirements of today’s individuals and what they want in their partner.

Dr. Priya Shah is an elite matchmaker who makes a prominent, noticeable difference in the matchmaking industry.  She has done a PhD in marriage counselling. She treats her clients like family members, and she presents the groom or bride not only with their bio-data as well as photos, but she provides all information about families’ background, candidate qualities; nature; behaviour; culture; how they were brought up from childhood etc. Dr. Priya Shah has been awarded the number one matchmaker with the Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Award, The Youngest Matchmaker Award from The Times of India, Ashok Stambh Award, Nari Ratna Award and many more prestigious awards of excellence in her field. She says,” the boys and the girls must select the right partner – a life partner who takes care of the other, under all circumstances.”

It will not be wrong if we say that today the premium matchmaking individuals have too many choices with too little time. They are known for low patience levels, and their focus is always on an instant connection. What they need to understand is that quick fixes don’t work while getting to know someone. It is exactly what is happening with major conventional matchmaking sites because they throw unnecessary choices that often are not required for an elite matchmaking client.

Elite matchmaking has high benchmarks for eligibility, credibility and ensures that only those who are serious about getting married sign up to the service.
