  • A national homeopathic seminar organized on Aplastic Anemia Awareness day on rare blood disorders in Indore

A national homeopathic seminar organized on Aplastic Anemia Awareness day on rare blood disorders in Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh [India], March 14: The Ayush Medical Welfare Foundation and Advanced Homeopathic Medical Research organised a national homeopathic seminar on rare and serious blood disorders like Aplastic Anemia, Sickle Cell Anemia, and Thalassemia on the occasion of the Aplastic Anemia Awareness Day at Indore.

During the seminar, homeopathic experts shared their experiences on the treatment of these rare and serious blood disorders through homeopathy. Addressing the gathering, the director of Advanced Homeopathic Medical Research, Dr. AK Dwivedi, said, “The rare blood disorders in the form of aplastic anemia is cured completely with homeopathic treatment”. While for Sickle cell anemia & Thalassemia giving desired relief to the patients
“The diseases have taken a more dangerous form than cancer and are affecting not only the patients but their entire family at various levels. This disease affects newborns to adults, young women, adolescent girls, and even older women. The initial symptoms of these diseases include lethargic feeling, tiredness, dizziness, shortness of breath, the feeling of weakness, pain in the extremities and backache, swelling, frequent fever or excessive bleeding during menstruation in women.”

According to Dr Dwivedi, the symptoms of blood disorders are similar to that of many other diseases. However, not only the patients but sometimes the doctors also look at these symptoms by associating them with other diseases. Diseases like malaria and dengue are suspected in the very onset due to fever and reduced hemoglobin and platelets in the blood report. When the diseases are not identified after repeated investigation, then the specialist doctors suspect aplastic anemia.

If aplastic anemia is confirmed after a bone marrow biopsy then the Allopathy suggests two treatment methods: bone marrow transplant and ATG injection. A bone marrow transplant is a very complicated procedure that usually costs around Rs  20 to 40 lakh. Thus, it is very difficult for patients from middle-class and poor backgrounds to arrange for such a huge amount. Another option, ATG injection, is also a costly treatment amounting to Rs 6 lakhs  lakh to Rs 12  lakh and sometimes Does not give a permanent solution to cure the disease as the effect of the inject last for hardly three years. There are medicines available in the homeopathic field to deal with such types of rare blood disorders.

Masiha Azam, a resident of Champaran District of Bihar, who got rid of aplastic anemia through homeopathic treatment of dr ak Dwivedi, said, “I went to the Fortis Escorts Hospital in Ranchi on November 20, 2018, for angiography due to cardiac problems. The blood investigation showed 60,000 platelets, and the hemoglogin was 10.5 grams.”

“The bone marrow biopsy revealed I was suffering from aplastic anemia. I was referred to Paras Hospital in Patna for treatment, which lasted for 40 days. My blood platelets were transfused every two to three days. However, one of my friends suggested starting homeopathic treatment. I came to Indore and started treatment at DR AK Dwivedi’s
Advanced homeo health centre & HMR PVT Ltd Indore. In just four days of treatment, my platelets increased from 18,000 to 27,000, and my hemoglobin increased as well. There was no Further need for blood transfusion.” At present, completely cured obsolete alright No such problems Not taking any kind of treatment since January 2020.

Meanwhile, the Ayush Medical Welfare Foundation and Advanced Homeopathic Medical Research Society carried out hemoglobin tests on about 100 normal women in Indore. Found very shocking result, about 48% of women were found suffering from anemia, out of which 26% of women’s hemoglobin was found below 10 grams and that 22% had hemoglobin above 11 grams, 6% had 8 grams hemoglobin, 8% of women had 9 grams and 3% had about 6 grams of hemoglobin. In the cases of anemia, there is a risk of serious illness due to negligence.

Kolkata’s Suboj Sangi NGO run by Kuntal Ghosh rescues 15 Bengali students and professionals stuck in Ukraine

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], March 12: Somali Shaw, a medical student at a college in Kyiv, Ukraine, had given up hope of returning to India alive. Shaw spent a week in a dark room in Kyiv with other Indian students amid gunshots, bombing, and missile assaults. The Ukrainian officials called Somali two days ago to arrange for her safe return to India on a special airline.

Thanks to Kuntal Ghosh, the head of the Kolkata-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) Suboj Sangi, who worked with the West Bengal government to return Shaw and 14 other Bengali students and employees who were stuck in war-torn Ukraine back to India.

“We got information about 10 students and five working professionals caught in Ukraine war and they were financially weak to return to India,” said Kuntal Ghosh, founder, and president of Suboj Sangi. For the safe repatriation of the students and working professionals trapped in Ukraine, we called West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and other key bureaucrats and ministers. They were brought under the Operation Ganga evacuation mission after the administration collaborated with the central government.”

Ghosh stated that the 15 Indians who returned to India are from Bangalore, Chennai, and Kerala. Abhishek Bandyopadhyay and young leader Sayani Ghosh inspired him to take up the responsibility for the safe return of the Indians stuck in Ukraine.

“We worked closely with the Bengal government and the federal government.” The Centre was given the names of the students and working professionals, as well as their current locations in Kyiv, Ukraine. “They (Indian students and professionals) were advised to relocate to the Ukrainian border, where they were picked up and boarded on a special rescue flight to India,” Ghosh explained.

  • Dr. Gurjot Marwah launches an Online Skin Diagnosis App – FIBON

Dr. Gurjot Marwah launches an Online Skin Diagnosis App – FIBON

New Delhi (India), March 12: Fibon is the first skin diagnosis app developed by practicing dermatologists and is a breakthrough in the times of digital expansion. Medical treatments are always preferred individualized, according to all research and exhaustive studies and Fibon as a platform ensures that their diagnosis reports are always one-to-one. It gives you a comprehensive and well-evaluated report that has been analyzed and approved by their team of Dermatologists.

Through their multi-layered vetting process, they analyze the symptoms, the condition of the patient and give you the diagnosed condition/disease, with suggestive treatment options and the severity level.

The enthusiasm for the development of such an app is undoubtedly welcoming in light of data indicating that over 2 billion people worldwide suffer from dermatologic conditions with a shortage of specialists to keep up with demand and affordable prices. However, empowering patients with such a smooth and straightforward platform will lead them to a trusted and reliable diagnosis.

The dire need for Fibon arose for two reasons: dermatologists not being easily accessible and the possibility of diagnosing the majority of skin disorders at a glance and symptoms of a patient. With the start of 2022 and things shifting their focus to digital mediums, a phone app was all that made the difference in people’s lives. Fibon is an app backed by real dermatologists, unlike the AI model used by similar competitors. This would eliminate the possibility of fraudulent reports or reports based on sample data.

Dr. Gurjot Marwah, a Certified Dermatologist and Hair Transplant Surgeon at Dr. Marwah’s Clinic based in Mumbai, Founder/Partner of Fibon says, ”We were longing for a platform to come up sooner which would reduce the twin boundaries that limit the practice of Dermatology. Skin Diagnosis should be available to the masses and at nominal rates. When it comes to skin problems, the majority of patients either google their problems or visit a general physician and other non-specialist. 85% of the time, many skin problems can be diagnosed in a single glance and visiting the dermatologists in person is not needed. These skin conditions are generally ignored when they are minor, and hence addressal becomes the root issue. Now with FIBON there is no need to ignore or delay your diagnosis, as help is just a few clicks away.”

He further said, “Fibon also enables general physicians and non-specialists in India and other countries to diagnose and provide treatment options. The platform is only intended to provide a diagnosis, not to be a substitute, as many conditions may require in-person visits or additional examining of the issue. Rather I hope it gives everyone access to authoritative information so they can make a more informed decision about their next step.”

‘FIBON – Your Pocket Dermat’ is an easy-to-use application with a simple and efficient user interface and user experience.

    Step 1: Download the app

Fibon app is available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

    Step 2: Login/Signup

Once the app is installed, it will enable the user to log in or signup through their email, Facebook or Google IDs. All data is secured through end-to-end encryption.

    Step 3: Give the information

Choose the body part, click images, explain the issue in one line and send.

Step 4: Pay and get the report

The users have a variety of options to pay to range from Wallets, UPI to Debit and Credit cards. The payments are secured, and Fibon offers 100% cashback if one doesn’t get the report in 15 minutes.

If a user doesn’t wish to download the app on their phone, they also have the choice of using the brilliance of the M-Web version – m.fibonapp.com

The accuracy of the diagnostic report delivered by the app is 99%. Dermatologists check and diagnose any skin condition under 15 minutes which gives a comprehensive report for the patient in just Rs.99! While there are so many apps for ‘Cosmetology’, there is no platform for ‘Clinical dermatology’ in this era of digital disruption.

A simple platform like this, which can be hosted on a smartphone in the hands of a community healthcare worker, a person in a remote area or even a metro city, will drastically improve the rate of early diagnosis of skin diseases and their treatments. Fibon app also features a well-researched library that covers nearly 130 of the most common human skin disorders. The skin conditions, symptoms and effects are written and checked by their pool of experts who are board-certified dermatologists. Fibon app boasts of diagnosing as much as 130 skin issues compared to the AI models, which have minimal use based on the data fed.

Fibon- Your Pocket Dermat is a diagnosis platform with a highly efficient technology-led approach. The brand aims to transcend geographical boundaries and make a smooth dermatological diagnosis available to areas where accessibility of a Dermatologist is an issue. The brand is super scalable as it costs 1/10th of a dermatological appointment. FIBON costs only INR 99/- for a quick diagnosis in India and $5 outside the country.

Fibon has huge growth potential, given that there are hardly any apps for serious skin disease diagnosis around the globe. The ones currently doing the rounds are “skincare coaches” for cosmetic treatment and machine-based apps that need much tuning to build their model. While there is no definitive study on the prevalence of skin diseases, Fibon could be a game-changer for Indian and global markets in the future.

  • Acid attack survivors need support to break the bias

Acid attack survivors need support to break the bias

Timely medical help and rehabilitation can give survivors the opportunity to reclaim their lives

March 11: ACID attacks against women are a blot on the face of a civilized society. But many women and girls in India continue to fall victim to this most despicable crime. While many fight back against their perpetrators and also succeed in life, others need help in the form of medical and rehabilitation support.

Anshu Rajput was just 15 when she was attacked by a 55-year-old sexual predator. She is a great example of how a survivor not only ensured that the perpetrator got convicted, but she also went on to become an inspiration to hundreds of other acid attack survivors.

“Acid attackers target the face of their victims in a bid to isolate them from society, and sadly, society reacts exactly as they expect,” says Alok Dixit, Founder, Chhanv Foundation. This Noida-based NGO played an important role in shaping Anshu’s life by not only funding multiple surgeries and other forms of medical support but also helping her with rehabilitation by employing her at Sheroes Hangout, a cafe run by survivors of acid attacks in Agra.

India had almost 200 reported acid attacks, mostly against women, in 2020 alone. The chemicals used in the acid can be so toxic that the women are left with third and fourth-degree burns on their face, throat, and arms. Many often have impaired eyesight after an acid attack. Not to speak of psychological, social, economic and opportunity costs they pay throughout their lives.

Over the years, the Chhanv Foundation has supported hundreds of acid attack survivors by providing them legal assistance, medical aid, higher education and even employment through its cafes – Sheroes Hangout in Agra and Lucknow. However, scores of acid attack victims who have approached Chhanv for help still await essential medical treatment.

“The last two years have been very difficult for us due to a crisis in funds. We have not been able to support even the critical surgeries and other forms of treatment. There are too many survivors whose urgent treatment is awaited,” says Alok Dixit.

GiveIndia, India’s largest giving platform and Chhanv Foundation have come together to raise ₹ one crore to provide medical aid and other forms of support for acid attack survivors.

Talking about the fundraiser, Sumit Tayal, COO, GiveIndia, said, “As the world recognises and acknowledges the importance of breaking harmful biases against women, we hope that our fundraiser brings a change in the lives of acid attack survivors across the country. Through our joint campaign, we hope to channel the generous support of women and men against biases of all kinds and help acid attack survivors reclaim their lives and inspire many others.”
