January 28: In a country like India the best way to make art reach its people is by putting it out there as wall murals at places thronged by people. To make colourful art reach as many people was the thought that gave birth to Khyatiworks, a startup that now endeavours to paint a wide variety of murals on the walls of urban India.

Brainchild of a software engineer by profession, Khyati Mehra Sharma started painting as a hobby and then soon expanded her hobby from the interiors of her drawing-room to the streets, malls and restaurants of India under the umbrella of her startup, Khyatiworks. Initially, Khyatiworks only had bookmarks and greeting cards to offer but soon after receiving accolades, the company started getting requests to paint murals at malls, housing complexes, restaurants, streets and roads across India. Due to this, Khyatiworks is getting the widest possible audiences with every passing day.

Even the Government of India recognised the intricate detailing of her craftsmanship and the potential in her art and invited the startup to be part of the startup India event. Khyati also hosted a webinar for the Digital Vidya platform.

Khyati Mehra Sharma, founder of Khyatiworks says, ‘When Govt of India launched the Startup India campaign, they invited around 1500 promising Startups pan India to attend the flagging off ceremony of the Startup India Program. Khyatiworks was also invited for the event where our Honorable PM addressed all the Startups with the new schemes and benefits being launched by the Govt’. Today Khyati is delivering lectures across India on women empowerment and entrepreneurship. Also, she is helping women from various NGOs by imparting her skillset to them, painting and embroidery.

Khyatiworks has also started crossing borders. The startup is exporting hand-painted jewelry, homeware, silk stoles and many other creative products to the US now.

Dadra & Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu, January 27: In a first-ever effort to revolutionize math education in India, Gaurav Tekriwal, President Vedic Maths Forum India is currently carrying out a one-of-its-kind ‘Training of Trainers’ for teachers in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu.

The Vedic Maths Forum India, founded by Gaurav Tekriwal, has been selected to conduct this training for over 342 teachers of Primary and Secondary Classes in Vedic Mathematics in January 2022 under the Samagra Shiksha Project. The project is expected to impact 10 lakh students in the process and create a new horizon for Vedic Math in the country.

Founded by a polymath Indian Saint Tirthaji, Vedic Maths is India’s gift to the World just like Yoga and Ayurveda. By learning Vedic Maths one can calculate much faster compared to the traditional system. Seemingly difficult calculations like 998 x 997 can be solved in split seconds, which will not only makes maths an enjoyable experience but it makes a remarkable difference to one’s confidence and self-esteem as well.

The interactive sessions in Vedic Math included intensive learning using presentations and videos for a better understanding of the concepts taught. Over 340+ teachers were trained in basic mathematics topics such as Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Cubes, Square Roots, Fractions, Decimals, Linear Equations, Percentages, et al using Vedic Mathematics. After only a 5-day workshop for the 342 teachers, it was found that their performance improved by a huge 10.37%, highlighting the efficacy of this methodology.

The project received an overwhelming response from the participant teachers who found the methods to be extremely effective and simple and have expressed interest to instil the Vedic Maths System in the main board curriculum so that they can teach this in the classrooms. There seems to be a huge demand of Vedic Mathematics study material in Gujarati medium for which the teachers have requested for the same in huge numbers.

To support the teachers every step of the way, help them solve doubts and stay connected during this pandemic affected the world, Vedic Maths Forum India will also be launching an online support group each for Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu. Gaurav Tekriwal says, “This is the beginning of the implementation of Vedic Maths in the Union Territory, and with this training, the teachers will now be able to impact millions of students, increasing their maths scores by over 20-30 per cent in the region.”

Surat, January 26: The Noble Public School in Surat commemorated the 73rd Republic Day on January 26 in a unique manner. As a part of its “Happiness is in Giving” initiative, the school marked the occasion by distributing various toys, stationery items, and other products among the underprivileged.

The school officials, teachers, students and parents visited different places in the city on Republic Day and distributed clothes, essential items, masks, sanitisers, toys, and stationery products to the less fortunate children. Food and garments were distributed among footpath dwellers by the school’s teachers.

Led by principals Ashish Sutariya and Deepa Joshi, several teachers and dozens of students and parents took part in the initiative, which benefited more than a hundred needy persons. With the aim to teach children to become more caring towards them, arrangements were also made to feed animals and birds.

“Service to man is service to God. The real celebration is only when we can help others, and that is why we thought of celebrating this Republic Day differently,” said Prashant Gondaliya, Trustee, Noble Public School.

“The main objective of the “Happiness is in Giving” initiative is to encourage the children to indulge in acts of kindness. January 22: Mohali-based Anee’s School in collaboration with pioneer cycle manufacturer, Radiant Cycle will be organizing a “Wheels Of Good Health” event January onwards. The event will consist of a series of online competitions for students of age group 3-6 years. Wherein 100 cycles would be distributed amongst all the winners of various competitions. The theme of the “Wheels Of Good Health” event will be focused on Education and Health.

January 18: Students of Vadodara based Parul University were selected to participate in the 9th International Tourism Mart 2021 organized at Kohima, Nagaland. The International Tourism Mart is annually organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to explore the tourism potential of the North-Eastern states of India. Every year, one among the 7 NE states hosts this unique event, and for 2021, the ninth edition was hosted by the State of Nagaland in its capital city Kohima. 50 students from across India were selected by the Association of India Universities to witness the event in its full fervor and indulge in a learning experience of the culture and heritage of the North Eastern States, among which were 4 bright students of Parul University.

The event saw the presence of International and National diplomats from Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei, with Shri Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland, as the Chief Guest.
