New Delhi (India), July 15 : The UK and India face a stellar future economic relationship, with the imminent resolution of the bilateral Free Trade Agreement. The number of Asian businesses investing in the UK has grown over the years, including a considerable jump from the previous year, despite Brexit uncertainties. WBR Corp UK Limited and EPG conducted India Week 2024 to celebrate this growing UK-India partnership globally. New Delhi (India), July 4: Eight students from India and five from other South Asian countries have been selected for the 17th edition of the Global Citizen Scholarship (GCS), an initiative by Global Indian International School (GIIS). This program funds two years of education in Singapore for outstanding students. Additionally, it offers scholarships for two years of education also in Bangalore, for which four students have been selected.

These bright students have been selected following a rigorous entrance examination and iterations of personal interviews. Close to 5000 students have shown interest in appearing for the prestigious GCS program. In recent years, GCS is becoming highly popular amongst students aspiring state of the art international education.

Prior to flying to Singapore, students will be felicitated at Aerocity Delhi.

These handpicked students will be sent to Singapore, wherein they will spend their next 2 years at GIIS SMART Campus. The academic institution is known for its world class infrastructure, top-tier facilities, and a cohort of highly skilled teaching staffs. The program allows students to chose between CBSE or IBDP curricula. Under the flagship program students will be provided with boarding, lodging alongside a generous stipend. During the tenure, students have to pay zero tuition fees. The total expense will amount to 1,00,00,000 for 2 years per student, which will be fully funded by the GCS programme.

The role of GCS program would not just end at the end of 2 years of pedagogy, rather students will be counselled on identifying and selecting the right international university, for their further studies academic journey.

New Delhi (India), July 4: The Aashayein Foundation, founded by Siddharth Rajhans, has launched a new take on CSR by making financial accessibility for higher education possible for high school children. Launched this July’24, it is backed by CSR funding in collaboration with VC networks. Through innovative initiatives and strategic partnerships, the foundation is creating a platform for knowledge exchange, fostering research, and empowering academic institutions.

Launched in 2016, the foundation launched a new project on Monday, 1^st of July’24 called “Abhilasha”, to promote children from economically marginalised segments of the society in academic disciplines.

“The idea is to help children from classes 9^th to 12^th with funding for higher education”, Siddharth sir mentions.

Students who are doing bright academically can reach out and depending on their family’s annual income, the foundation will help them with impact-oriented funding via VC networks under CSR.

“We are happy to launch this arm and we aim to create an environment of higher learning within our local community”, he adds.

The Foundation has been working to promote collaboration between academic institutions in India and their counterparts across the world. This can involve faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and student exchange initiatives. These collaborations allow for the cross-pollination of ideas, the sharing of best practices,and the development of innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Siddharth Rajhans adds, “However one major pain point was that many talented students had to give up on their higher education dreams because of lack of funding”. Today the entrepreneurial landscape of India has built very collaborative and helpful Venture Capital institutions.

Many of these investors believe in funding the “bus driver” and not the “bus”.

“Thus we felt that if we could organize this sector and make grants available in our country like the university-endowment system of the US, we can have a great progress in higher education and research”, the foundation emphasizes.

His partner adds “The foundation also works closely with industry partners to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This collaboration ensures that academic research is relevant to industry needs and that graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for a successful career.”

New Delhi (India), July 3:  Fostering the school talent across globe, SilverZone Foundation, a non-government organisation with its unwavering commitment to promoting educational excellence, rewarded the winners of various International Olympiads at 21st Educational Excellence Award & Student Felicitation Program 2023-24.

SilverZone Foundation has been organising 10 Olympiad competitions for school students including International Olympiad for Mathematics and International Olympiad for Science and International Informatics Olympiad (Computer Science) for the last 20 years. In 2023-24 a total of 523 students secured top ranks out of 1.5 million students who participated from India and abroad, 100 winners were from Delhi and NCR region.

An extraordinary gathering of educationists and teachers hailing from over 20 states and 100 cities, from across the globe graced the felicitation ceremony. This diverse assembly was a testament to the global reach and influence of the SilverZone Olympiad, which saw participation from millions of students across continents.
