  • Bhuj The Pride Of India showcases the war era of 1971 with lifelike sets, fighter jets and the biggest action sequences

    Production Director of Bhuj The Pride Of India, Narendra Rahurikar, creates life-like sets to fuel the war movie. For the first time in Indian cinema, fighter aircraft are recreated from the era of 1971.

     Mumbai, Maharashtra [India]: The trailer of Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride of India showcases massive war and action sequences. The flying jets and blasts add to the movie’s appeal, evoking an emotion of patriotism and are an integral part of the movie.

    For the first time in Indian cinema, life-like models with exteriors and interiors of multiple MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force and Sabre jets of the Pakistan Air Force have been made for the movie.

    Narendra Rahurikar, the production director of Bhuj, excitedly recalls the process of making a model version of the Antonov An-12 aircraft, which the Indian Air Force had in 1971. This aircraft had a huge structure, and on the demand of the action director and the movie, it had to be created in a manner that it would move with speed and look authentic from inside and out. Rahurikar and the team made it happen, and the result will soon be on the silver screen.

    “We fight to win and win with a knockout because there are no runners up in war. Same in art direction, every set has to be up to the mark,” says production director Narendra Rahurikar.

    The Abhishek Dudhaiya directorial is based on real events from the 1971 Indo-Pak war when Pakistan attacked Bhuj airbase as part of Operation Chenghiz Khan. As Rahurikar mentions, “Bhuj of today is very different from the Bhuj of 1971”. “We researched in-depth about the era and recreated villages of Gujarat from Indian and Pakistan away from Bhuj to bring an authentic look to the movie”, he added.

    Research for the movie wasn’t limited to the location, look and feel; the production director left no stone un-turned by looking after the minutest details from the army and air force accessories to anti-aircraft guns and trucks that were used back in 1971 for this war movie.

    “It has happened for the first time in the history of Indian cinema that for the shoot of Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Narendra Rahurikar replicated about thirty aircrafts and tanks of the air force and air army,” says director Abhishek Dudhaiya.

    Inspired by the journey of IAF Squadron Vijay Karnik (Ajay Devgn), the trailer of Bhuj indicates that the audiences are in for some of the biggest action sequences Indian cinema has witnessed.

  • Shooting of Pia Bajpiee starrer Lost gets afoot in Kolkata

    The thriller movie is being directed by Pink fame Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury

    Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], August 6: The shooting of the Hindi movie Lost, which stars actor Pia Bajpiee and is helmed by Pink director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury has commenced.

    Pia has featured in several hit Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam movies and starred in Hindi movies such as Laal Rang and Mirza Juuliet. The shooting of her next Hindi venture, Lost, an intriguing thriller story, has begun in Kolkata.

    Lost, which is backed by Namah Pictures and Zee Studious, will also feature Rahul Khanna and Tushar Pandey along with Pia.

    “I have tried many things as an actor over the years, but nothing has touched me like Lost. Honestly speaking, I was looking for a script like Lost for a long time. It has an excellent storyline, and I  said yes the moment it was narrated to me,” says Pia.

    The fact that Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is directing the movie was like the icing on the cake for Pia.

    “I have wanted to work with Aniruddha Sir (Tony da) since the time I saw Pink. He is a very professional and cool person. The way he makes you understand the scenes and his expectations from you as an actor is simply brilliant,” she says further.

    Talking about the City of Joy, where the shooting is taking place, “I just loved the way Aniruddha Sir described Kolkata while narrating the script. The city has its own character, which drew me to it. After coming here, I have just fallen in love with the city and its wonderful people. Kolkata is famous for sweets, and I love sweets too, but I can’t binge since I am shooting (laughs).”

    Lost’s shooting is expected to be completed in a few weeks, and it is targeted for a 2022 release.

  • Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar had suggested that Bigg Boss should split into two seasons a year.

    Mumbai, August 2: Way back in 2017, while talking to the entertainment industry website Bollywood Dhamaka, Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar had suggested that Bigg Boss “will do itself a lot of good if it splits into two seasons in a year.”

    At that time, not many seemed to comprehend this suggestion. Until a few days ago when we heard that Bigg Boss is actually going to have two seasons this year, one being Bigg Boss OTT hosted by Karan Johar and streamed on Voot, and the other being the Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan on Colors.

    In the website article four years ago, the entertainment publicist had noted that Bigg Boss is the biggest reality television brand in India. Apart from its Hindi show, it has already diversified into regional language editions. Along with ‘celebrities’, it has already brought in ‘commoners’ not only from Mumbai but from all over the country, thereby increasing its publicity and spice value.

    “The next logical step could be to split it into two seasons a year — one for ‘commoners’ and the other for ‘celebrities’. If that happens, the makers may be able to generate double the business on the BB branding,” the Bollywood publicist had stated.

    Now it has been reported that Bigg Boss OTT will have a mix of influencers, social media stars, and some celebs as contestants. It is said that a few of the top performers will also get a chance to be on the main show Bigg Boss 15 that will air on Colors, with Salman Khan as the host.

  • ‘Bideshi Foring’ A new flavour of Indie Bong Pop to Bengali Music

    Chandannagar, July 26: Stephen Daze, an independent artist from Chandannagar (a small French town in West Bengal) has announced his debut album “Bideshi Foring”.

    Bideshi Foring is an Indie Bong Pop Record with a new flavor, disruptive to the traditional music culture in Bengal. Flying through the influence of ‘Foreign’ genres like RnB, Electronic Pop, and World Music, Bideshi Foring means ‘Foreign Dragonfly’ in Bengali.
