  • Attaining ascetic life is only possible through great fortune: Acharya Shri Mahashraman

Attaining ascetic life is only possible through great fortune: Acharya Shri Mahashraman

Surat (Gujarat) [India], July 19:  Leaving behind worldly pleasures and embracing the path of renunciation and asceticism is no easy task. In today’s era, only a few can renounce material desires and choose the path of upliftment of the soul. Such a rare scene was witnessed today at the Chaturmas site of Sanyam Vihar in Surat when eight people embraced ascetic life, dedicating themselves to the upliftment of the soul and altruism.

In the auspicious presence of Acharya Shri Mahashraman ji, a grand Jain Bhagwati Diksha Samaroh was organised, in which two Samanijis ascended the ranks, and two persons took Jain monk initiation. The Diksha samaroh, coinciding with the enlightenment day of Acharya Bhikshu, doubled the enthusiasm of the thousands of devotees gathered to witness it.

As the ceremony began at 9:00 am, the grand Mahavir Samavasaran venue was filled with devotees, who were eager to witness the rare moments of initiation. The ceremony commenced with Samani Manju Pragya Ji and aspirants Ruchika and Sadhana introducing the initiates. Following this, Bajrang Jain, President of Parmarthik Shikshan Sanstha, read out the command letters of those accepting initiation. The initiates presented their parent’s letters to the Guru, seeking written and verbal permission for initiation.

In his auspicious sermon, Acharya Shri Mahashraman said, “Lord Mahavir, the Tirthankar, was the supreme being. Arihant Prabhu is considered supreme in the world, Siddha Bhagwan is deemed supreme, and one who has gained complete understanding is regarded as supreme. To become a monk means to attain the state of supreme being. Today marks the 299th enlightenment day of Acharya Bhikshu, who laid the foundation of the Terapanth Dharma Sangh. It is very difficult to become a monk and attain monkhood on this eternal journey. May we also attain enlightenment and progress towards achieving it. Monasticism and monkhood are the greatest things. Even those who are not monks should move forward towards renunciation and restraint.”

“Matthen Vandami” chants fill the air

Reciting the sacred words, Acharya Shri Mahashraman, granted Jain monk initiation to all initiates. He had them criticise past deeds and recite the Aagama scriptures. As soon as the initiation ceremony was completed, he announced that all the initiates had become part of their family. The entire assembly honoured the newly initiated with chants of “Matthen Vandami”.

Hair plucking ceremony symbolises Guru’s control

Plucking of hair is a significant aspect of monastic conduct, symbolising that the disciple’s hair is always in the hands of the Guru. Upholding this tradition, Acharya Shri Mahashraman manually plucked the hair of the two newly initiated monks. Sadhvipramukha Vishrutvibha Ji completed the hair-plucking ceremony for the newly initiated nuns with the Guru’s command.

New names for a new life

Initiation marks a new spiritual birth. As part of this tradition, Acharya Shri Mahashraman bestowed new spiritual names on the newly initiated. Mumukshu Vikas Bafna was named Muni Shri Vitrag Kumar, Mumukshu Surendra Kochar became Muni Shri Sanyam Kumar, Samani Akshayapragya Ji became Sadhvi Shri Akshayvibha, Samani Pranavapragya Ji was named Sadhvi Shri Preetiprabha, Mumukshu Meenakshi Samsukha became Sadhvi Shri Paragprabha, Mumukshu Meenal Parekh became Sadhvi Shri Medhaviprabha, Mumukshu Deekshita Sanghvi became Sadhvi Shri Deekshitaprabha, and Mumukshu Nupur Baradia was named Sadhvi Shri Nishchayprabha. Respected Gurudev also presented the Rajoharan, an integral part of monastic conduct and a symbol of non-violence, to the newly initiated.

Sadhvipramukha Shri Vishrutvibha Ji gave a speech on the occasion, while the newly initiated shared their emotions. Many young men and women also joined the Parmarthik Shikshan Sanstha as aspirants. Muni Dinesh Kumar Ji conducted the programme.

  • Guru Parampara: Boon to Humanity; Lord Vishnu to Asaram ji Bapu

Guru Parampara: Boon to Humanity; Lord Vishnu to Asaram ji Bapu

New Delhi (India) July 19 : The Guru Shishya Parampara, an integral part of Indian culture, has been the cornerstone of the transmission of knowledge, values, and wisdom since ancient times. This tradition of mentorship and spiritual guidance has produced exemplary figures, including Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. The Guru Shishya relationship is the most pious relationship, and through this bond, not only are individuals benefited, but it is also a boon to humanity. In Bharat, we have an unparalleled history of Great Sadgurus and their dedicated satshishyas (disciples) who have not only paved the path to spiritual excellence but also enabled the overall development of society as a whole.

Guru Shishya Relationship: The Divine Lineage

In the world, there are many relationships often chosen based on stars, blood, birth, or comfort. These are usually short-lived and last only as long as the person’s life. However, there is one relationship that is eternal: the one between a Guru and His disciple. This bond continues to protect the disciple even after death. The wisdom passed from Guru to disciple ensures the disciple’s well-being and guides him on the path to spiritual excellence.

Revered Asaramji Bapu belongs to one of the divine lineages of enlightened masters which starts from Lord Narayan. His lineage represents not only the divine source of his knowledge but also shows the tracks of Guru Shishya Parampara that have manifested to uplift the overall well-being of humanity.

This lineage of enlightened masters includes “Dadu Dayalji,” whose revolutionary ideas and literature brought a revolution across the nation and gave worship a direction that  elevated  society  on the path to eternal bliss. His 52 disciples gained self-realization, one of whom was Swami Nischaldasji Maharaj, who wrote the renowned scripture ‘Vicharsagar’, which is very popular for its vedic knowledge in simple words. The same lineage includes Swami Leelashah Ji Maharaj, whose miracles are known worldwide. His power of spirituality and services to humanity made him one of the most famous saints of Sindh. Bapuji, a disciple of Sai Leelashah Ji, has been following this lineage, spreading the knowledge of Sanatan Dharma, and serving humanity as a whole.

Here is a quick rundown of the divine lineage:

Guru Shishya Tradition Keeps the flame of knowledge alive

Typically, the term “Guru” is used synonymously with a teacher or someone who imparts knowledge. In this sense, every mentor, teacher, or guide can be called a Guru. However, according to Sanatan Dharma, Sadguru is the king of all the gurus . Sadguru is  someone who can impart knowledge that helps a person understand the ultimate truth of life and reach the pinnacle of spiritual ecstasy. Asaramji Bapu mentions that, according to ancient scriptures, the Sadguru is considered above the trinity of “Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesha (Shivji)” because He goes beyond them and helps His disciple experience Parabrahma, the source of the trinity.

A Sadguru illuminates the path to self-realization and inner peace, preserving and promoting the rich traditions and values of Sanatan Sanskriti.

Guru and Shishya: A Bond of Truth, Faith, and Affection

A Guru shares an affectionate bond with his disciple, built on the foundation of the disciple’s faith, the Guru’s kindness, the disciple’s devotion, and the Guru’s compassion. In this unique bond, the disciple seeks the Guru’s blessings to climb the ladder of success. Adi Shankaracharya’s spiritual guide, Bhagwadpada Govindapadacharyaji, mentions:

Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara,Guru Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmay Shri Gurave Namah

Bapuji has explained this verse in his discourses, noting that just as Lord Brahma created the universe, the Guru instills good values, virtues, and knowledge in the disciples. Just as Lord Vishnu is the preserver, the Guru nourishes spirituality and cultural values within the disciple. Just as Lord Shiva is the destroyer, the Guru annihilates diseases, sins, and weaknesses from the disciple’s heart. The Guru is Parabrahma, which means that the guru’s grace is everywhere and always after mantra diksha (initiation), guiding him through all aspects of life, preventing bad deeds, and appreciating good ones.

This relationship is not only divine but also enchanting, making it special for every disciple.

Guru Shishya parampara : Application to the Modern World

A life without a Guru is like a ship without a rudder, drifting aimlessly in the vast ocean of existence. Just as a lamp illuminates a house, the wisdom of the Guru illuminates the heart. This relationship provides spiritual benefits and enables holistic development.

    Guide for Life

Bapuji mentions that the Guru Shishya relationship is like that of a SIM card and a satellite. No matter where the SIM goes, the satellite connection can reach it and pave its path to glory. The only difference is that the SIM has a validity limit and there may be a connectivity issue but the Guru’s blessing and Guru Mantra have no expiry date & connectivity problem and take care of the disciple even after death.

    Barricades Degradation

It is a proven fact that a person who stays in contact with His Guru is less prone to degradation. He does not get carried away by temptations, stays steadfast, and makes wise decisions, thereby contributing to his growth.

    Enhances Emotional and Mental Strength

Having a Guru in life enhances mental stability, which helps in career, spirituality, handling family matters, and even studies. Such people are less prone to depression, suicide, anxiety, and anger issues.

    Health and Spiritual Well-Being

A Guru is a guide for holistic development, including spirituality and health. The Guru nourishes the disciple with boundless knowledge, helping create harmony with nature. This not only builds strong spiritual power but also promotes good health.

    Revolution In World

Gurus like Asaramji Bapu are revolutionary saints whose initiatives and guidance lead millions of disciples on the path of cultural development. This, in turn, contributes to the development of the nation and humanity. They uphold the principle ‘Nar Sewa Hi Narayan Sewa’ (Serving Humans is Serving God) and significantly contribute to the upliftment of humanity as a whole.

True Essence of Guru Shishya Parampara

The Guru Shishya Parampara is indeed a boon to humanity. It embodies the true essence of spiritual mentorship, fostering a deep connection between the guru and the disciple. This relationship is not merely educational but transformational, leading to the disciple’s overall development. It bridges the material and spiritual worlds, offering a holistic approach to life. The Guru Shishya Parampara, as exemplified by Sant Asharam Bapuji and his illustrious lineage, continues to be a beacon of light in a world often shrouded in ignorance. It is a testament to the enduring power of spiritual guidance and the profound impact of a guru on a disciple’s life. The teachings and practices of this tradition are vital for achieving true happiness and fulfillment, making it an indispensable part of Indian culture and Sanatan Sanskriti.

In the heart’s sacred shrine, a lamp burns bright,

Guiding souls through the darkest night.

With a guru’s wisdom, our spirits soar,

Finding peace, we seek no more.

Guru Purnima: A Day for Guru Or One’s Inner Self

Guru Purnima is the day dedicated to expressing gratitude to the Guru. It is a day to pledge our commitment to spiritual excellence. On this day, disciples visit the Guru’s place to refine their inner selves. The Guru blesses the disciples, preparing them to progress on their path of personal development.

    Asaramji Bapu’s message for Gurupurnima

Gurupurnima is about becoming a Guru. Humility makes us small, but knowledge, renunciation, wisdom, and the desire to attain God make us a Guru. A Guru is someone who is rich in supreme happiness, abundant knowledge and united with the highest God. God did not create the universe to make you a slave; God created the universe to make you a lover. You belong to God, and God is yours. Don’t crouch down and beg. Devo bhutva devam yajet: “Become a god and worship the god.

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima millions throng the 400+ ashrams of Asaramji  Bapu to express their deepest gratitude and respect.

  • Grand civic felicitation of Acharya Shri Mahashraman in Surat

Grand civic felicitation of Acharya Shri Mahashraman in Surat

Eternal happiness can be attained by conquering attachment and hatred: Acharya Shri Mahashraman

There are two types of beings – Godly and Worldly: Acharya Shri Mahashraman

Surat (Gujarat) [India], July 17:  Acharya Shri Mahashraman, the 11th Acharya or supreme head of the Jain Shwetambar Terapanth Dharma Sangh, received a grand civic felicitation in Surat, famously known as the city of diamonds, on Tuesday. Thousands of people participated in the event, including Surat Mayor Daxesh Mavani, Deputy Mayor Narendra Patil, Surat MP Mukesh Dalal, and representatives of religious, social and political outfits.

Addressing the participants at Saiyam Vihar, Acharya Shri Mahashraman said there are two types of beings in the world – Godly and Worldly beings. He said that those who are Godly beings are free from the cycle of birth and death, are formless, peaceful and of few words. They do not suffer from any physical, mental or emotional pain, and are completely free from such burdens. The spiritual guru said that such beings experience natural bliss from within. He explained that just as the water of a pond is external and the well’s water is internal, there are two types of happiness – external and internal.

Acharya Shri Mahashraman emphasised that Godly beings have internal happiness, which is also eternal, and cannot be stolen by anyone. He said that the soul attains the Godly qualities when omniscience is revealed. He further said that to experience this revelation, one has to be free from attachment and hatred and become detached. He said the soul can attain salvation only when ignorance and attachment are removed.

Talking about the second type of beings, Gurudev further said that if worldly beings are given the knowledge of religion, they too can move towards detachment.

The holy period of Chaturmas has great importance in Jain traditions. Jain monks undertake meditation by staying in one place for the entire duration of four months of the Chaturmas. Participating in daily religious and spiritual discourses allows people to be free from routine work for about two hours. They can enhance their knowledge and find answers to questions troubling them. By paying attention, the listeners can also become good speakers.

The venerable spiritual guru also spoke about compassion, morality and de-addiction, inspiring participants to implement these qualities. He extended his blessings so that these qualities flourished in Surat. He also emphasised the importance of developing self-restraint.

In her address, Sadhvi Pramukha Vishrutvibha ji said that the company of great men can change the condition and direction of an individual’s life, and noted that people of Surat have this rare opportunity to meet highly accomplished men.

Following the discourse, the civic felicitation ceremony started with the singing of “Lo Sanghsumeru Surat Ka Abhinandan”. Shri Bharat Shah delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the felicitation committee. Mayor Daxesh Mavani, Deputy Mayor Narendra Patil, MP Mukesh Dalal, Padma Shri Mathur Savani and other members of the civic felicitation ceremony committee presented the symbolic key of Surat city to revered Acharya Shri Mahashraman.

Muni Shri Uditkumar ji said that only those with saintliness, greatness, dynamism and the quality to inspire everyone are felicitated.

Addressing the participants, Mayor Daxesh Mavani said that Surat has been blessed by the arrival of Acharya Shri Mahashraman for Chaturmas. He said that the people of Surat will benefit a great deal from the religious discourses during the holy months.

Lok Sabha MP Mukesh Dalal said it was Surat’s good fortune to host Acharya Shri Mahashraman for Chaturmas. Dr. Jitu Shah, Jay Chheda, Surat City BJP general secretary Kishore Bindal, and RSS leader Suresh Master also spoke on the occasion and paid their respects to Acharya Shri Mahashraman. Sanjay Jain and Anil Jain, Founders of Bhagwan Mahavir University, welcomed the respected guru on the university’s behalf.

Ankesh Shah read the civil felicitation letter, while Sanjay Surana presented the vote of thanks. Nanalal Rathod and Vishvesh Sanghavi conducted the felicitation ceremony. A documentary on Acharya Shri Mahashraman, produced by Mahavir Semlani, Vishvesh Sanghavi and Sanjay Vaid mehta of the media team, was also screened on the occasion.
