  • Will 2024 bring out the New You? Ilashrei Anand, UNESCO Awardee and renowned Certified Yoga Psychologist, draws a map to realising your dreams

Will 2024 bring out the New You? Ilashrei Anand, UNESCO Awardee and renowned Certified Yoga Psychologist, draws a map to realising your dreams

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 22: New Year resolutions often break, but what if you can create intentions that lead to achieving your final goals, suggests Ilashrei Anand, the UNESCO Awardee and renowned Certified Yoga Psychologist, who’s been consistently guiding people for over a decade now to achieve their big dreams through Yoga Psychology. Ilashrei Anand, the 40under40 Businessworld Wellbeing winner, also emphasises normalising taking therapy, especially Yoga Psychology, to resolve any issues in one’s life, whether relationships, mental health, physical wellbeing, or even career.

Ilashrei Anand says most of us only recognise Yoga as a physical activity whereas Yoga is literally the world’s first-ever documented study of the human mind and how to maximise its potential. Ilashrei Anand gives us some invaluable insights into Yoga Psychology and on how to achieve our New Year goals.

First, Sankalp (create an intention) towards the bigger goal.
For example, if the Goal is to have a work-life balance, then create a Sankalp around the problem area, like, “I choose to spend my time wisely.” Now break down this Sankalp into three simple but powerful Yoga concepts.

Drishti (focussed gaze), which here means, maintaining a clear focus on smaller, manageable tasks for work-life balance rather than keeping a full-fledged timetable that often cracks. So, say you take out 5 minutes to video call family during lunch break instead of waiting for the day to end and spend time with them, which often gets compromised due to sudden random plans, binge-watching, or simply being super exhausted.

Gradually, keep adding to this list, like, 3 minutes of Swadhyay (self-analysis) during a coffee break, etc.

Abhyas (regular practice) which emphasises the cumulative effect of small, consistent efforts over time, to achieve bigger victories. So, Abhyas, in this case, can be setting reminders, sticky notes, alarms, etc, for your Drishti, which here is 5-minute family call or 3 minutes of Swadhyay.

Vairagya (non -attachment): Applying this concept to Sankalp or goal setting involves enjoying the process regardless of the final result. Hence, no matter how good /bad the call with family goes, or how incomplete or poor your Swadhyay happens, you are required to not get impacted by it but enjoy the process with Abhyas or consistent efforts.

There’s more to it, but Ilashrei Anand says that even if one applies the above shared Yoga Psychology, one can yield grand results towards their goals and thus taking Yoga Psychology therapy sessions, one not only heals a particular issue but actually brings abundance to all areas of one’s life, because Yoga focuses directly on the power of one’s mind.

“Clinical Psychology came around late 19th century, and it’s still evolving, which is a ray of hope for all, but Yoga Psychology is the full-blown mighty Sun which also sheds light on how our physical health issues like PCOS, Thyroid, Premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Fibroids, Allergies, Gut health, Weight, etc., are also a result of stress which is being finally studied and to a larger extent also confirmed by medical science via their psychosomatic branch,” quips Ilashrei Anand, who’s been actively involved in healing lives of over 1 lakh people by spreading the knowledge of Yoga Psychology.

Why Choose Yoga Psychology Therapy in 2024?

“New year brings new hopes and dreams, but new year resolutions are also infamous for never being achieved. Yoga Psychology is like the powerhouse of not only achieving 2024 resolutions but for all years. This is because Yoga Psychology doesn’t follow a single template for all, but identifies individual root cause. Whether it is mental health issues like ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar, anxiety, panic attacks, narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, etc, or physical health issues, Yoga psychology addresses them differently for all since each soul has their individual journey, thus, everyone’s answers will be different. Choosing Yoga Psychology in 2024 is like the one miraculous gift that can deliver all your future gifts. It’s about empowering yourself with self-confidence, recognising your self-worth and indulging in Swadharma (loosely translated self-love) to finally achieve your dreams,” says Ilashrei Anand, whose expertise with a determined approach also led her to be honoured with Yodha Kranti Award (Young Warrior Award)

A Royal Journey: In Conversation with Rajkumar Dhushyant Anil

A Glimpse into the Life of a Rajkumar of Mysore Palace — An Actor, Model, Writer, and Vlogger

New Delhi (India), December 21: Born in the lap of royalty, Rajkumar Dhushyant Anil’s life is a tapestry woven from ancient traditions, artistic pursuits, and a modern spirit. Stepping into his world is like embarking on a journey through time, where the echoes of a glorious past mingle with the vibrant hum of the present.

    Rooted Into Royalty

Dhushyant was born in 2003 into the Mysore royal family. He spent his childhood between Mysore, Bangalore, London and Milan, and the Mysore palace holds a special place in his heart. “My most cherished memories with my family were made there,” he says.

“My grandmother and mother raised me the way they were raised, taught me the values of the palace, the family, and I have an immense amount of respect and admiration toward my ancestors for all they’ve done for their states and kingdoms.”

    Understanding royal heritage

Dhushyant believes that understanding his royal heritage has shaped him into the person he is today. “It has made me Dhushyant Anil, and anything I have, or am, is because of my family, and for that, I am eternally grateful,” he says.

    Palace Memories

Dhushyant chooses to wrap his fondest childhood memory around wherever he goes; celebrating Dusshera with family and friends is one of them. “I now live in London, but my favourite moment growing up in India is celebrating Dussehra.”

He adds, “The festival is a special time for me; the Mysore palace used to have a beautiful and memorable series of celebrations and ceremonies where the whole family would come together and celebrate together.”

A Passion For The Performing Arts

Dhushyant has always been passionate about the performing arts. “Be it attending plays, listening to music, watching dance performances, attending the opera, movies at the cinema, the whole idea has always appealed to me,” he says. He is currently working on some acting projects but prefers to keep them under wraps.

    Fashion & Flair

A keen sense of style runs in the Wadiyar and Ommi family, and Dhushyant is no exception. “Having a good dressing sense is something I have inherited from my mother, grandmother and grandfather.” His favourite fashion lines include Versace, Ralph Lauren, and Loro Piana.

He expresses fashion as a canvas for self-expression, a way to tell his story without a single word. “I have always been positively fascinated by fashion and the industry,” he says.

    A Storyteller

Dhushyant is also a writer. He started writing at a young age and enjoys writing poetry and shayari more than novels and short stories. “I’ve always found myself writing something or the other, be it short stories, attempts at poetry or being the first to complete my creative writing assignments at elementary school,” he says.

    A Love For Fiction

When it comes to reading, Dhushyant prefers fiction. “I would say fiction is most certainly a favourite,” he says. “I enjoy writing and reading fiction with suspense and drama. Sydney Sheldon’s work has been a favourite of mine.”

Vlogging: A Window to the World

Dhushyant is also a vlogger. He started vlogging when he was around 11 years old. “My friends and I all decided to get ‘world famous’ by making the most interesting YouTube channel that our childlike optimism predicted to go viral and earn us millions,” he says.

    Overcoming Camera Shyness

Dhushyant was initially camera-shy, but overcoming it, he learned to embrace himself, a journey that paved the way for future endeavours. “It took me a lot of time to learn to love myself and accept myself,” he says. “My friends and family were always there for me, and through the years, they stood by me as I learned to gain the courage and confidence I needed to stand proud and be able to show my face in public.”

    A Cinematic Dream:

Dhushyant’s artistic ambitions extend to the silver screen. He nurtures a dream of directing a short film, a project he guards close to his heart. The whispers of a captivating theme and a collaborative spirit piqued his loved ones’ curiosity, leaving them eager to witness his cinematic vision unfold.

    A Wanderer

Dhushyant is a citizen of the world. He has travelled to many countries worldwide and wishes to learn more about diverse cultures and converse with new people. “Understanding the culture of every place I visit, meeting locals, trying the cuisine and exploring the different ways of life has made me feel more fulfilled and happy,” he says.

    What Lies Ahead

Dhushyant is a perpetual nomad, his passport a testament to his insatiable wanderlust. He cannot, and will not, choose a favourite destination. Each place he visits adds a new brushstroke to the vibrant portrait of his soul. From the sun-kissed beaches of Brazil to the rugged beauty of South Africa, his itinerary is a kaleidoscope of cultures and landscapes.

Quoting the lion king, “There’s more to see than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever be done. There’s far too much to take in here, more to find than can ever be found,” — Dhushyant says, “The world is a large, beautiful, incredibly diverse place, and I have fallen in love with every single country I’ve travelled to.”

He adds, “I’m still trying to figure out where I want to go next, but Brazil is most certainly on top of my list, so are South Africa, Kenya, and Morocco. One of these places, perhaps.”

Dhushyant Anil is a young boy with a bright future. His talent, intelligence, and passion for his royal heritage will undoubtedly achieve great things in the future. He is a Rajkumar of Mysore with a modern soul, a storyteller with a camera, and a wanderer with a restless spirit. As he embarks on the next chapter of his journey, his admirers can only wait with bated breath to see what new colours he paints his life with.

  • Thousands of Mumbai Christians celebrate Christmas with the theme of peace

Thousands of Mumbai Christians celebrate Christmas with the theme of peace

(Left-Right)-Dr.Abraham Mathai, Addl.CP Dr. Abhinav Deshmukh, Ms.Shazia Ilmi, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Mr.Gul Kriplani (‘Planting Deep Roots of Peace in Harmony with Mother Earth’)

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 20: Thousands of Christians along with their church leaders celebrated Christmas ahead of December 25 with the theme of “planting the deep roots of peace in harmony with Mother Earth”.

The 58th annual Prabhu Yeshu Janmotsav, or birthday celebration of Lord Jesus in the western Indian metropolitan city of Mumbai, echoed deeply the compassion, harmony, and reconciliation to usher in peace to all humankind troubled by turmoil and strife.

Catholic and Christian leaders across denominations urged the huge congregation to spread the Christmas message of love, peace and goodwill and the choir groups from various churches sang carols to usher in the festivities of the season.

“Christmas is a season of Hope. The world is in darkness because of the wars in Ukraine, the war in the Middle East, conflicts in different places and we need Hope, we need Light, we need Warmth,” Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, India’s largest Catholic diocese, said.“Christ came down on earth to bring Hope, to give Life, to give Service and to teach us to be Brothers and Sisters of one Family – to make us one Family,” he said. Cardinal Gracias said we are one Family but because of our selfishness sometimes we forget that we are brothers and sisters and there are divisions. “Let’s make this Christmas once again one more effort to make us as brothers and sisters loving each other, serving each other, helping each other, making our city Mumbai a better city, making our country India a better India. Happy Christmas to each one of you and may everyday be Christmas,” the prelate said.

Muslim leader Shazia Ilmi, also the national spokesperson of BJP said she was delighted to celebrate Christmas with the devout congregation.“I extend to you a heartfelt wish and a prayer that we really look at ourselves in the light of Godliness and work on bringing peace and oneness just not within ourselves but for the entire community, for our respective cities, states, India and the world,” the BJP leader said.

“In these tumultuous times of unprecedented disruptions in the world today, Jesus Christ is the only One who can transform the arena of chaos, turbulence and violence into gardens and orchards of Peace and Harmony,” Dr Abraham Mathai, Chairman of Prabhu Yeshu Janmotsav and former Vice-Chairman of Maharashtra State Minorities Commission, told the congregation. He said it is with this assurance that this year’s Christmas message is to transform the arena of war and persecution into a platform of showcasing the virtues of Christ which hold together a society presently torn apart by strife and contention.“When we are hated, persecuted and victimized, we will continue to respond with love, forgiveness and reconciliation,” Mathai said. He said this year’s Christmas celebration encouraged attendees to a united endeavour to plant the deep roots of kindness, compassion, and love on a global scale encouraging thousands of attendees to go back home and cultivate gardens and orchards of peace, and harmony to harvest compassion for suffering humanity. Christian leaders stressed that reciprocal hostility is the cancer devouring the fabric of peaceful coexistence among nations, communities and people at large. Dr.Mathai said the news whether local or international is all about strife and contention. The world is infested with such diabolic acts of extremism, promoting hostility and animosity of such overwhelming magnitude and proportions resulting in mass murders and genocide besides war across nation borders.

The colourful event held at the sandy shores of Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai was first started by the then Maharashtra State Governor’s wife, Lady Tara Cherian, a Christian leader, in 1965. She was the recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award in 1967 for distinguished service.“This devout event across all Christian denominations has been a regular feature every December for six decades,” Dr.Mathai pointed out.

“We honour her legacy by continuing in the same vein and congregating together year after year, and this year, we celebrate 58 special years of hosting this event,” he said. Additional Commissioner of Police Abhinav Deshmukh of Mumbai was among the dignitaries and bishops, who attended the event.
