The event will be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad; over 10,000 expected to attend

Hyderabad, September 29: It’s time again to celebrate Mother Goddess. Celebrations for the annual Bathukamma festival have begun across the state. Joining in the festivities, hmtv, the 24-hour Telugu news channel, has organised a mega event on October 1.

The mega Bathukamma Samburam will be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 1. The event is expected to be attended by over 10,000 people, including the who’s who of Hyderabad. The celebrations will begin at 4 pm.

“For the last two years, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we were not able to celebrate Bathukamma Samburam as we used to in the past. With the pandemic behind us, there is great enthusiasm among people to celebrate the festival this year. We are organising a mega Bathukamma Samburam this year to join the celebrations and usher in positive vibes during the popular festival,” said N Lakshmi Rao, CEO of hmtv.

Bathukamma is a flower festival celebrated in Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh. The festival is nine days long and falls around Navratri. It is mainly celebrated by women and concludes on Durgashtami. A flower stack is prepared with flowers having medicinal values, representing a temple, to offer prayers. People also make flower rangoli on all days. It is also an occasion for families to get together.

There are several legends surrounding the festival, but the common thread is the worship of the Mother Goddess. One of the beliefs is that it is celebrated to thank Goddess Parvati for her benevolence in terms of good agricultural produce and income and to seek her blessings for the next year. It is also believed that the festival asks for the return of the Goddess and is dedicated to Goddess Parvati since Devi Sati was reborn as Parvati.

    Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

September 27: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kapil Mishra while taking a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party government for their unreasonable claim of providing employment to ten lakh youth said that the proposed assurance for the employment is all lies if their government is formed.

Hindu Ecosystem and Utsav Foundation organized a talk by Kapil Mishra titled ‘ Rajniti me Rashtraniti’ (National Policy in Politics)  at Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium today. Kapil Mishra while addressing the large number of youths took a solid dig at the Kejriwal government in Delhi by exposing their reality by presenting accurate facts and figures.

On Kejriwal’s promise of giving all the contractual employees regular jobs, Kapil Mishra exposed him by saying that there are as many as 17 contract employees who work in the Chief Minister’s office itself. So, it is better to make them permanent first. “Kejriwal previously claimed the employment for 12 lakh youths in Delhi, but as per the Delhi government’s RTI itself only 3246 people have got jobs in last eight years,” he added.

Talking about education Kapil Mishra said, “ In spite of the fact that not a single new school or college has been built in Delhi since eight years , the AAP leader is propagating education model of Delhi in Gujarat.”

According to Kapil Mishra Gujarat’s Ahmedabad is a riverfront model and on the bank of Yamuna river in Delhi there lies a Rohingya front.

  • India’s environmental and roadway crisis: Central Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari holds meeting with Uttar Pradesh BJP Leader Rahul Chaturvedi of Bhadohi

India’s environmental and roadway crisis: Central Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari holds meeting with Uttar Pradesh BJP Leader Rahul Chaturvedi of Bhadohi

    Read Time:3 Minute, 39 Second

September 27: 28 August, 2022 witnessed a warm confluence of the Union Road and Transport Minister with UP BJP Leader and Regional Coordinator of MSME Kashi region. Rahul Chaturvedi is a Fire brand leader, active social and environmental activist and the Regional Coordinator of MSME of Kashi region from District Bhadohi of UP and his works towards the betterment of environment is commendable. Recently he took to the news with his laudable achievement of planting more than 1.25 lakh saplings in his District. His concern for the environment and sense of responsibility towards the society led him to this meeting with Mr. Gadkari.

This event witnessed a deep discussion on various matters on environmental crisis and necessary steps to be taken to deal with them. The issue of the poor condition of NH-6 connecting the States of Uttar Pradesh – Madhya Pradesh – Maharashtra to Gujarat was raised by the Regional Coordinator of MSME Kashi. He honored the Union Minister with a shawl and presented him a letter enlisting his concerns and solutions on various environmental issues, as analyzed by him.

The most interesting and revered part of this discussion was where Mr. Chaturvedi highlighted the need to promote electric vehicles across the country to prohibit environmental crises. He suggested the need for State interference on this issue and pleaded the government to mandate Charging stations at every fuel refilling station. He also suggested that if the government makes policies like Toll exemption for electric vehicles and that if RTO could issue 50% off on Registration of electric vehicles, it would urge the public to go green. This would reduce the environmental crisis significantly within a short span of time.

According to Mr Chaturvedi, if the Government and the private sector of automobiles team up and make stringent policies on electric vehicles, the problem of pollution due to non-renewable fueled automobiles will be solved to a great extent. This will lead to a significant drop in the pollution levels, thereby levelling up the air quality index and CO2 levels. He urged the government to make policies that would make it compulsory for all refilling stations to have at least 10 charging points for electric vehicles. He also urged the private automobile companies to promote electric vehicles and if necessary, RTO should provide discounts on the prices to urge people to make the switch.

The meeting was overall quite fruitful, and changes are sure to be reflected in the growth and development that is being demanded. In particular, Rahul Chaturvedi acclaimed the efficiency of the various plans and policies developed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Road and transport ministry work by Mr Gadkar.  He made lakhs of Kilometers roads in India for the common people of India. He also praised the farmer empowerment programs and crime control taken by CM Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh. The meeting was also graced by the presence of Dr Rajendra Phadake the National coordinator BJP for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao movement.

Many might be wondering why a politician from another state is taking such an active role in the state of Maharashtra. This is because Rahul Chaturvedi was born and brought up in Thane District, of Maharashtra. During the years of his youth in Maharashtra, Rahul Chaturvedi was a regularly affiliated with the ABVP and Bajrangdal. After some time he also complited primary education of RSS in Bhadohi UP, He also has several enterprises and business ventures in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh such as being the owner of the Siddhivinayak Infrabond India Private Limited, alongside being the chairman of Cisty Dairy And Agro Products India Private Limited which has its plant in Dhule and Jalgaon. It is indeed quite interesting to note how Rahul Chaturvedi is giving back to the community that has raised him up. And he is very highly popular on all Social Media platform also like Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Koo, Instagram and Facebook with followers more than lakhs.

His views were appreciated by Mr Gadkari who ensured to ponder on these issues and consider the measures suggested by the BJP Leader Regional Coordinator of MSME Kashi Region Rahul Chaturvedi.

She highlighted the role of the rule of law in India and the system of policing. She further highlighted the Criminal Jurisprudence in India is vested in the idea of “Let a thousand guilty roam free, but not a single innocent should be punished”. Subsequently, she elaborated on the colonial remains in India’s criminal justice system and prison system, which pose a challenge to legal experts and scholars. She highlighted the various cases of police brutality, such as the infamous Nilabati Behera Case. She further posed critical questions to the panellists regarding the maintenance of national security and avoiding overlapping with human rights.

Guest of Honour, Dr. Ekkehard Strauss, introduced the topic and reflected on his expertise in International Human Rights and his experience with the UN and OSCE. He highlighted that the commitment to the topic is deeply commendable and requires deliberation. Dr. Strauss highlighted the global community faces mutual challenges such as police brutality and overstepping of legislation. He then discussed the role of early training in ensuring that Human Rights are respected in society.

Dr. Arvind Tiwari discussed the importance of policing in Indian society. He stated that even though it is a colonial setup, the role of the police can’t be overlooked in Indian society. Further, on the question of ensuring police accountability, Dr Tiwari highlighted the directions given by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Prakash Singh v. Union of India. He concluded on the note that the police is an important institution to ensure public security; however, external and internal accountability needs to be ensured.

Lt. Gen Rajendra Nimbhorkar discussed that the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) is often seen in a draconian way; however, the nuances need to be understood. Mr. Arvind Patil reminisced certain personal anecdotes from his service days. He deliberated upon the supervisory function of the police and corroborated it with Prakash Singh’s Judgment. Mr. Patil further highlighted the importance of these reforms, most importantly police complaint authorities and the plight of the common citizenry to register police complaints; thus, more accountability is required.

Dr. Akshat Mehta noted the structural and administrative reforms ongoing in the country. He suggested that the police reforms should ensure more citizen-friendly rules and the findings of the various police reform committees that aim at important lessons for police being a service centre and not a power centre. He concluded by stating that the public perception of the police needs to be improved.

Adv. Neelima Vartak touched upon the role of the judiciary in ensuring that investigating agencies don’t overstep their powers. She highlighted the various nuances of the rights of an accused in an investigation process and concluded her address by elaborating on the issue of delay of cases due to lack of proper procedure and human rights violations during the police investigation.

Ms. Pournima Gaikwad highlighted the dichotomy in the gap between the practical and theoretical aspects of policing. She added that despite such challenges, citizen-friendly reforms such as the initiative of the Seva and Bharosa Centres by the Pune Police had been adopted. In order to mitigate the issue of Juvenile Delinquency in urban areas, child-friendly police stations have been established in the area under Ms. Gaikwad’s team. She concluded with her valuable suggestion that in order to increase efficiency, there is a need for better working conditions and psychological help for police personnel.

Subsequently, the forum was opened for a Q&A session and ended on a successful note with the vote of thanks, delivered by Dr Aparajita Mohanty, Deputy Director, SLS, Pune.
