    The Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) achieves another milestone: Yusuf Pathan inaugurates the 25thcentre of CAP in Vrindavan (Mathura)

  • Need For Real Single-Window Clearance: Hon’ble Murugesh Nirani

    Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 20: Shri. Murugesh R Nirani, Honourable Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, on Thursday, August 19, 2021 evening said that there is a need for a real and one-time single-window clearance for businesses. He added he knows the pain of industry, which has to deal currently with multiple approvals for the start of operations even after obtaining a single-window clearance from authorities.

    Shri Nirani, the Chief Guest at the 44th Annual General Meeting of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), stated that he would soon meet industry bodies to seek suggestions to improve its functioning. He also complimented BCIC for acting as the brand ambassador of Karnataka and supporting the Government on various matters during the challenging Covid-19 pandemic times.  Further, the Honourable Minister responded positively to the request of BCIC’s Incoming President K.R.Sekar’s suggestion of partnering with BCIC on the proposed Global Investor Summit. The Minister welcomed the initiative of BCIC opening its office in Tokyo and expressed hope of its reach in other parts of Karnataka in the near future and its presence in Mysore and Dharwad.

    The Minister also said he is aware of the high power tariff levied on industries that need to be addressed to compete with neighbouring countries.

    He added that ‘Walk to Work’ is needed to reduce congestion in Bengaluru. Towards that end, going forward, 15% of space in industrial parks would be reserved for industrial, residential townships.

    BCIC witnessed a change of guard on Thursday afternoon as Mr KR Sekar, Partner, Deloitte Haskins and Sells LLP, took over as President of the Chamber. Dr L Ravindran, who was Vice President of the Chamber in 2020-21, will now be the Senior Vice President for 2021-22.

    Later, on Thursday, while addressing BCIC’s 44th AGM, the Chamber’s outgoing President Mr T R Parasuraman, President & Whole Time Director, Toyota Industries Engine India Pvt Ltd, said that the senior office bearers had set the theme for the year as “Namma Karnataka – The Gateway to Future India”. He added that this was done as the Chamber wants to make Karnataka the destination for global investors.

    He also stated that BCIC had represented the industry’s voice to the Central and State governments and had received timely support, especially from Former Karnataka Chief Minister Shri B S Yediyurappa’s Government.

    In his welcome address at the AGM, Mr K R Sekar said, “BCIC has been at the forefront of working with the Government of Karnataka and would continue co-operating with the State government in all its policies. Further, K.R.Sekar also requested the Honourable Minister to consider engaging BCIC as a partner for the proposed Global Investment Summit as BCIC has a strong team and has both Global Indian and MNCs as their members. K.R. Sekar also assured the Minister that BCIC would work with leading Industries and other chambers of commerce to support the Government of Karnataka on “Ease of doing business.”

    Mr Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Brigade Enterprises Ltd., one of the Special Guests of Honour at the AGM, said that Karnataka is facing competition from neighbouring states, especially Telangana, to retain its ‘I.T. capital’ tag. He added that the infrastructure in Bengaluru also needs to be improved in the coming years to keep pace with the city’s growing population.

    Mr Soumitra Bhattacharya, Managing Director, Bosch Limited and President of the Bosch Group in India, another Special Guest of Honour at the AGM, said Karnataka needs to retain its tag as ‘Silicon Valley of the world for start-ups. He pointed out that though the State is the third-largest recipient of FDI equity inflow into India, it has slipped alarmingly in the country’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ rankings.

    1. a) Being in the top 5 states in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ rankings;

    (b) Ensuring single-window clearance is just that and not multiple single windows;

    (c) Clearances for existing companies should be time-bound and measurable,

    (d) Focus on vocational training for youth.

    Humsafar is an app-based Doorstep Diesel Delivery Service Provider providing Doorstep Diesel Delivery Services to farmers, housing societies, hotels, hospitals, malls, construction sites, industries, banquets, and other bulk diesel buyers. OkaraFuelogics is a newly formed company by Okara Group – a leading transport and logistics company. Together the two companies aim to launch doorstep diesel delivery services in various cities of Maharashtra, including – Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai, Solapur, and many other cities of the state.

    “Earlier, the efficient energy distribution infrastructure was lacking. The bulk consumers of the diesel had to procure it from retail outlets in barrels which used to cause a lot of spillages and dead mileage in every procurement. The introduction of doorstep diesel delivery will solve many such problems, and it will provide diesel to bulk consumers in the most legal manner,” said Mr. Singh.

    Under the strategic partnership, Humsafar has received an order of 100 automated mobile fuel dispensing bowsers for Okara Fuelogics for Diesel Delivery. As part of their strategic alliance, Humsafar will be providing technical and digital support to the new venture. Okara Fuelogics will provide doorstep diesel delivery services to farmers, housing societies, hotels, hospitals, malls, construction sites, industries, banquets, and other bulk diesel buyers in various major cities of Maharashtra.

    The Okara Group, founded by Ramandeep Singh and Meharban Singh, has a vast transportation and logistics network throughout North and West India. Under their new venture, ‘OkaraFuelogics Pvt. Ltd’, the company is all set to offer doorstep diesel delivery services starting with the state of Maharashtra.

    Speaking about this, Zoravar Singh, Director and Co-founder of OkaraFuelogics, said, “Okara Group has now launched OkaraFuelogics Pvt. Ltd. With this, we have diversified and made our much-awaited entry into petroleum retailing.     The event was for pet lovers and pet guardians to prioritize their diets including nutritious bites and healthy munchies. Disha Patani, who is known to be attached to her furry friends, talked about their place in the family and how it is imperative for one to pay attention and put conscious efforts into taking care of the pet babies. The actress not only represented pet lovers but was also thankful for the honour Drools bestowed upon her by inviting her to the event that focused on pet care and diet.   • Spearheading Sporting Ambitions by Transforming Bastar’s Sports Ecosystem into World-Class Facility

    Jagdalpur, Aug 3: The success of life is greatly attributed to sports, as we can learn from the failures, motives, inspiration, and enthusiasm with sportsmanship from all kinds of sports one can play. Bastar is the land of diverse tribal communities, with their prosperous traditions, culture, and heritage which they haven’t let loose yet, but they are still behind as compared to the mainstream sportsmen, owing to inadequate sports infrastructure. Even after the creation of the state, the pace of development in sports facilities remained sluggish. However, in the past years, sports infrastructure developed has gained momentum in Bastar district under the guidance of State’s Hon’ble Chief Minister, who showed concern towards this cause by providing the facilities to the region’s sportsmen they craved for a long time. Continuous efforts are being made by the Chhattisgarh government to ensure appropriate facilities suited to the sports talents of Bastar. With the special efforts of the state government, the dream of Bastar residents of setting up an important institute for proper training of sports is going to come true soon. Several sports facilities shall begin by the end of this year at the sports complex located in Dharampura in Jagdalpur city. The construction of a 50 seater sports hostel will be developed at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium of Bastar with all the facilities vital to a synthetic turf football ground with 400 meters running track, courts for basketball and tennis, besides that handball, volleyball grounds, badminton hall, and residential amenities for the players. The provision has been made for reconstruction work, which is in progress already.

    Administrative approval of Rs.5.00 crore has also been provided by the Government of India for synthetic turf football ground with running track at Priyadarshini Stadium and a proposal for hockey turf ground at Pandripani has also been sent to the Government of India for construction of a 100 seater sports hostel and player’s accommodation. For football players, all the required facilities such as floodlight have been prepared in the CT ground which is being developed for practice. The development association has also planned a separate football ground that will be prepared for the women players of Mata Rukmani Ashram, which will be approved after visiting the said ground. The work of the hostel and sports ground is underway, which is being observed by the collector and all the necessary instructions provided for the development of the same are being taken care of as well.

    Under the supervision of Collector Rajat Bansal, Jagdalpur city, which is the focal point of the entire Bastar division, is under planning and pertinent efforts have been made to transform the same into a developed city. Along with the development of Bastar, it is very crucial to maintain the identity of its tribal culture, under which the activities of tourism development are being carried out, whereby the district administration is working constantly to preserve and promote the tribal culture and several other works are being done through Yuvodaya to make the youth a significant part of the cultural protection and promotion, and to connect them to the mainstream development. Also planning for the development of sports infrastructure will be the contemporary addition to the city of Bastar, with all the international facilities pertaining to the same.
