He has been travelling extensively for the past 5-6 years visiting various countries including United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, South Africa, Morocco, Uzbekistan etc. During these visits, Syed Ehraz Ahmed tries to bring them close to spirituality.

Syed runs various NGOs and charitable trusts in India. The aim is to help the economically weaker section of the society that lives in remote and rural parts of the country. His NGO, Syed Ehraz Foundation is the sole Indian NGO that helped Syrian refugees on the Turkey and Syria border, besides doing various charitable activities in different countries of Africa.

The social work doesn’t end here, Syed’s NGOs prepare one time meal every day for thousands of people during Ramadan. In 2021 Ramadan, when the covid pandemic was at its peak in India, they provided free food to more than 30,000 people. They also arrange daily essentials for almost 50,000 people living in Indian villages. Other such social acts are carried out by their NGOs not just in India but in other countries as well.

Syed is well-acknowledged internationally. He has been visited by various international prominent figures like Jeff Bezos (owner of amazon), Justin Trudeau Canadian Prime Minister, John Key Prime Minister of New Zealand, the deputy PM of Malaysia, various Sultans and members of Royal family in various countries and many others prominent figures.

Syed Ehraz Ahmed has one aim and that is to financially and spiritually guide people. He wants to unite the people of the entire world under the banner of Sufism and spirituality irrespective of Religion, Caste, Colour, Race or creed and help them in every possible way. His lectures and talks play a key role in educating the new generations know sufism and spirituality more closely and precisely.

To reach a broader audience and give the message of peace and humanity, Syed Ehraz also appears on various Radio and TV shows in many countries. This way he interacts with a wide range of audience to impart peace in the society.

The foundation is also working towards nation building and instilling the feeling of patriotism and nationality in the young generation.

Bharat Mehra has been into philanthropic activities and supporting the destitute for almost three decades

Dubai (UAE), October 08: After Indian actors like Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, Mohanlal and Mammootty, a Dubai-based renowned businessman and philanthropist, Bharat J Mehra has been awarded the UAE’s coveted 10-year Golden Visa for his humanitarian activities along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Novak Djokovic.

Mehra has founded the Bharat Mehra Strategies DMCC to provide strategic and business development consultancy to corporates in India and the Middle East region. He is the chairman of Radha Meera Trust, supported by the Ajay Piramal Group. Also the chairman of Mashobra Pvt Ltd, Bharat, has been into philanthropic services and supporting the destitute for over 25 years. His trust in India provides free food, medicines, ambulances, eye operations, and education to over 1,500 people daily.

“I consider Dubai to be my home, and I am fortunate to have been granted the Golden Visa. I am thankful to the UAE government and the immigration authorities for this enormous gesture of gratitude,” said Mehra.

“UAE is a beautiful country, and under the forward-looking vision of our leadership, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, I am sure we will see many more achievements in the country,” he added.

Mehra has never refrained from helping people. It can still be recalled how a woman in an abaya at a restaurant solicited financial help for her son’s enrolment to an engineering college. Despite his qualifications, he was unable to gain admission owing to a lack of funds. Without a second thought, Bharat transferred a significant amount to her account. It is one of many such instances.

“Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. So, keep an eye out and grab them.  Reach out to them, but do it in a respectful manner that preserves their dignity and self-respect. Help others to win, and in turn, you will win. Remember, we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” said Mehra.

Mehra always maintains a positive attitude. “We must be grateful for all that we have, to give lovingly in charity to those less fortunate, to help whoever we can, whenever we can, to lend a smile to everyone, to be in bliss and peace and spread joy and happiness wherever we go,” he remarked.

Mehra is obliged for everything the UAE has provided him and intends to continue serving the country.

Dubai [UAE], October 6: A multipreneur from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Rashid Khan was the first Indian to be invited as the guest of honour at the Expo 2020 hosted by Dubai on October 1. Khan, who is involved in several businesses in the UAE, inaugurated the country pavilion of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in the presence of the leaders of the Mauritanian government.

Originally scheduled for October 20, 2020, to April 10, 2021, Dubai’s Expo 2020 has been the most awaited global event, which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mohammed Rashid Khan grabbed the headlines by inaugurating the Mauritania Pavilion in the presence of Mauritanian leaders, including his Excellency Hamid Ould Ahmed Taleb, Mauritanian Ambassador in the UAE, Hawa Moussa Diallo, Director of Mauritanian pavilion, his Excellency Dy Ould Zein, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Mauritania.

Khan said, “I am overwhelmed to be invited as the guest of honour by Mauritania. Mauritania is the eleventh largest country in Africa, where the appetite for tourism and business is immense. The travel and investment opportunities are as diverse as Mauritania itself.”

Chennai, August 30: The Indo-US bilateral international virtual workshop, “Water and Air Research Initiative for Societal Health (WaARISH 2021)”, was hosted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, on 24th and 25th August 2021. The event’s chief guest was Dr Nandini Kannan, Executive Director, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF). The guest of honour was Prof. Chittaranjan Ray, Director, Nebraska Water Center Nebraska, USA. The IUSSTF has sponsored the workshop as part of its mission of providing platforms for highlighting research outcomes and sustainable development initiatives by the brightest minds of the two countries. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute, Nebraska – USA, were SRMIST’s collaborative partners.

The workshop included a series of keynote lectures from professors of international repute from esteemed institutions in India and the USA, such as IIT-Kanpur, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of California – Riverside and the Idaho Water Resources Institute.

Prof. Jay Gan highlighted the importance of studying “contaminants of emerging concern” and their assimilation into plants. Prof. S.N. Tripathi detailed the air quality in India during the COVID pandemic and the research efforts made by his team to aid in the implementation of the Indian National Clean Air Program. Prof. Karrie Weber discussed the groundwater concentrations of nitrates and uranium in Nebraska and the geochemistry of uranium. In their keynote lectures, Professors Shannon Bartelt-Hunt, Jesse Bell and Alan Kolok spoke about how a better understanding of the various aspects of the water-climate-public health nexus is necessary to preserve societal health. Prof. Daniel Snow of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Convener – USA) elucidated the need for sensitivity in the analysis of environmental samples and how new instrumentation may provide a level of sensitivity never-before-realized.

Dr. Paromita Chakraborty of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Convener – India), spoke at length about how cost-effective early signaling of COVID19 virus through wastewater-based epidemiology can be used to identify clusters of infections among the population and better orient India’s pandemic management efforts.

The keynote lectures were followed by a series of invited talks from eminent experts from India & the USA in the fields of water science, atmospheric pollution and public health. Few of the topics covered by the invited speakers included sustainable wastewater treatment solutions for rural India, black carbon, perchlorate and arsenic contamination of water and many more. Another highlight of the event was the lecture session by early career researchers and young scientists.

After the conclusion of the talks, the prize winners of the e-poster presentation conducted on the first day were announced in the valedictory session. A total of 6 prizes were awarded for e-posters in the water, air and health categories. The event concluded with Prof. Daniel Snow (Convener – USA) unveiling the approval for publication of a special issue of the workshop’s research works in the Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry journal of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
