  • HealWell24 looking to bridge gaps in healthcare sector in India with DocsCampus.com

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 17: COVID-19 pandemic revealed the gaps in the existing healthcare structure and showed that the Indian healthcare system is too weak.

With a lower doctor-patient ratio (1:1000), issues in last-mile healthcare delivery, and lack of qualified doctors in rural & semi-urban areas, the Indian HealthCare system needs a revolution.

There is no effective, trusted single window for healthcare delivery to everyone and no proven way for professionals to find, consult, transact with each other online.

Providing a solution to all these issues, JK Singha, Rk Ningthem, Nilesh Bhanushali, and Chittaranjan Mishra started HealWell24.

In Jan 2021, Anil Va Verma, a top executive in a major beauty care startup, joined HealWell24 as Chief Investment Officer.

The idea behind the next chapter of HealWell24 emanates from a deep and personal experience of the team.

It is to solve for the current asymmetry of Indian Healthcare (of information & access), no booking engine (such as HealWell24.com or Practo.com) will ever be sufficient at a scale, which has become obvious to the entire world during the two waves of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It would need a simple engine and a user-managed network of Doctors and Patients, owned and moderated with the community at its center stage.

DocsCampus.com, the upcoming product of HealWell24, plans to solve exactly this in a simple to use and effective platform for the next generation, stated the founder.

The Healthtech startup currently provides an easy-to-use web and mobile platform where members can connect with India’s top doctors – 24/7, 365 days a year.

Speaking about the platform, JK Singha says, “HealWell24, the current product, already empowers individuals with remote screening, where patients can connect with their dedicated doctors anytime, from anywhere, and engage in live video sessions. We also provide additional support, like doctor home visits, home lab tests, or medicine delivery, to our customers- all of which are fulfilled on the same day by our team. But with DocsCampus, we would consider us successful when we have removed the existing asymmetry of access & information for doctors or medical students in rural/ semi-urban areas & their patients.

Although the DocsCampus portal is not expected to be monetized in the coming quarters, till it hits an inflection point, the services of the current booking engine will be deeply integrated to ensure top quality service delivery to all the doctors on the platform and their patients.

The company will be moving into the next phases of DocsCampus lifecycle in the coming three quarters from launch, of which I remain tightlipped but extremely excited about.”

Operational in 35 cities, HealWell24 has 1000+ doctors, 300+ Labs, and 100+ Dentists on its platform. The startup has Apollo Spectra, Indian Oil, Hiranandani Hospital, Mahindra Lifespaces, Synechron technologies, Zeno Health as Corporate Clients, and several well-established companies in diagnostics chains & hospitals as partners.

Till now, HealWell24 has provided essential healthcare service to thousands of Indians for conditions such as bone cancer, dental abscesses, and diabetic retinopathy.

With over 215K consumer transacted so far, HealWell24 currently handles over 600 transactions per day.

HealWell24 has aggressive growth plans and is looking to raise Series A in the next two months. The startup had already raised a total of $1.1Mn from Seed and Its Pre-Series A Rounds.

  • A young entrepreneur of the city is distributing footwear to the underprivileged on a large scale during the pandemic

Surat (Gujarat) [India], June 16: There is a saying, ‘Work for a cause not for applause,’ and one such successful entrepreneur in our city is doing just that. We came across Vivek Dodia, Director at RV Estate Consultants Private Limited, Surat. Originally from Beawar, Rajasthan, Vivek has been staying in Surat for many years now and has a rich experience of more than 10 years in real estate consultancy.

As an Entrepreneur, Vivek strongly believes in developing not just business goals but also making a social impact. Recently, during the pandemic, Vivek’s innovative mind got a random idea to keep footwear in his car for unprivileged people roaming bare feet on the roadsides in Surat. From this simple idea, developed a thought of helping such people on large scale and came up with the wonderful initiative of ‘Happy feet मुस्कुरातेकदम.’

With the help of his working partner Rajendra Gandhi and some friends and his own funding, they systematically started footwear distribution. On 23rd May 2021, a fleet of 25 cars was sent for distribution in 15 different areas of Surat, which distributed around 2000 pairs in a day. This generated a lot of interest in the people of Surat and from other cities too. The goal of Happy Feet is to distribute around 5000 footwear in phase-1 and to spread this awareness in other cities also. MLA (Harsh Sanghvi) & ACP of Surat have also supported and appreciated this campaign.

This enthusiastic entrepreneur has also formed MEYO – Maheshwari Entrepreneur Youth Organisation in 2017, to spread awareness about sports and cultural activities within the Maheshwari community while also promoting activities, especially for women.

Meyo organised the biggest cricket event for ladies for the first time in Gujarat, based on the theme of—PALLU SE PAVILION TAK—(2017-2019).

Another of his remarkable initiative was GREEYO– Distribution of 5000 indoor plants with exclusive pots to the Surat public for free of cost, which made a new World Record (2019).

At the time of the crucial recession of the real estate industry in Surat, RV Estate consultants PVT LTD has developed and going to launch an awareness initiative ‘CHALO SAROLI’ to promote the Saroli area of Surat all over India and incorporated a website with the same name. All the properties developed by all the developers in Saroli are listed on the website for ease of users & investors.

Vivek Dodia and his organisations have organised many such activities. Such kind of noble deeds for society is indeed praiseworthy and we should fully support them.

Parents and wife Hema always supports Vivek in his social contributions.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand [India]: Yoga is the path to perfection and the attainment of a higher form of knowledge and mental peace.  Today, yoga is one of the popular healthy lifestyle habits all around the world.

This ancient Indian science allows you to achieve relaxation, both at the physical and emotional levels. Yoga is one of the easiest to do physical activities, and everyone can do it, regardless of age and degree of physical fitness.

Countless studies have shown that the use of a set of yoga exercises, asanas, and correct breathing techniques helps improve your emotional health and general well-being. In addition, it provides you the ability to adapt to new working conditions, which makes yoga a means of prevention and an alternative to the treatment of neurotic disorders.

The vast arsenal of yoga practices in terms of maintaining health has become the basis for its popularization throughout the world.

Every year, World Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21, and on this great occasion, Neeraj Clinic has announced that it will launch yoga with a holistic treatment program. Neeraj Clinic has been treating patients since 1985 and till now have treated more than 156000 patients worldwide.

As the conversations around health needs, treatment modalities, clinical services, and care access for epileptic patients have become more urgent.

“Epilepsy affects a person’s physical and mental state, as well as his or her social life,” says Dr. Gupta, Director of Neeraj Clinic.

Neeraj Clinic is one of the three institutions approved by the Government of India for complete Ayurveda treatment of epilepsy.

“Continuing our efforts to help epileptic patients maintain physical and mental health during these testing times, Neeraj Clinic has launched a week-long yoga and holistic treatment program,”says Dr. Gupta, Director of Neeraj Clinic.

Dr. Gupta is an Ayurvedacharya and has 45 years of experience in Epilepsy treatment.

Yoga offers an ancient yet surprisingly modern approach to seizure management. In Ayurveda, epilepsy is called apasmara, which means “loss of body consciousness.” Ancient Indian texts, the Vedas, describe four types of epilepsy and nine disorders that cause seizures in children. For the treatment of epilepsy, the physical practice of yoga aims to restore balance (union) between those aspects of a person’s health that cause seizures. Yoga is one of the oldest formal practices that seeks to restore this balance.

Asanas help to restore the balance of the body and its metabolic systems. Practicing asana increases physical endurance and calms the nervous system. Asanas improve blood circulation, breathing, and concentration, reducing the chances of a seizure. These exercises also help improve your health-related quality of life.

“Neeraj Clinic aims to help patients with epilepsy live a epilepsy-free life which is full of Hopes, Dreams, skills, and Motivation,”says Dr. Gupta, Director of Neeraj Clinic.

Neeraj clinic also provides free checkups and medicine for less privileged patients who find it difficult to get treated for epilepsy due to high costs.

Stress is a well-recognized trigger for seizures. Dhyana or meditation is one of the best ways to calm the mind and thus heal the body. Meditation also helps in improvingblood circulation, and it slows down the production of stress hormones. Meditation also increases levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, which are knownto calm your nervous system. In addition, the practice of relaxation techniques such as yoga meditation is well known for helping to combat epilepsy episodes.

Based in the sacred town of Rishikesh, Neeraj Clinic is a worldwide popular name for Epilepsy Treatment. Their book on epilepsy has been referred to 240+ Medical Universities in India as well as Abroad.  Neeraj Epilepsy Clinic has received various Recognition & Awards for its contribution to the Indian Ayurveda field and medical field. • Elegance Enterprises, a Bangalore based property consultancy launches a new concept: an online marketplace dedicated to farmlands

Bangalore, Karnataka [India]: Since the start of the lockdown from March 2020, a lot of things have changed in India and the real estate industry is no exception. One of many changes that the realtors have experienced during this period is the rise in the demand of farmlands, farmhouses and vacation homes. This is due to the fatigue people have experienced living in the cities with restricted movements. The ambitions of owning a bigger home, the aspirations of getting closer to nature are taking over.

This shift in the mindset and requirements of buyers quickly got the attention from the big players of the business as they started their journey with managed farming development. This change was helped by the relaxation in farmland ownership laws in a few states making it the perfect timing. In fact, this particular niche in the industry has seen around 70-80% year on year growth in the last year.

But there was one problem that people were facing. Despite the constant launches of projects in this niche, investors weren’t able to find the right projects for themselves easily. They didn’t know which concept or what type of land to choose or whom to trust.

Elegance Enterprises claims to have found the solution as they launched their online marketplace for farmlands, farmhouses and vacation homes. The platform is named as FARMLAND BAZAAR and you can visit it at www.farmlandbazaar.com and it will act as an online platform for managed farmlands, farmhouses, estate properties and vacation homes. This will make it easier for investors to browse, compare and choose from various projects and that too at one single platform.

The Company claims to foresee a sizable market share in listings in the coming few months. Notably, Elegance Enterprises has been in business for 9 years and has a fair share of hold and connections in the real estate industry. So, this website can turn out to be a great bridge between farmland owners and investors if things go as per predictions. The people at Elegance have themselves claimed that Bangalore is just a pilot city of the journey and by this time next year- the website would have a catalogue of around 1000+ projects. The website will offer services for farmlands, managed farmlands, farmhouses as well as vacation homes.

Moderated by Amit Porwal, a leader of the industry and Director of Elegance- the event of launch of the platform was in itself an epitome of the potential that the project has. Elegance is a member of CREA(I)- Confederation of Real Estate Associates (India)& NAR- National Association of Realtors and the support from both the organizations could be seen. Pradeep Joe, the founder and chairman of CREA(I) himself was the chief guest at the well-executed webinar.

What made the webinar an all-round success was the quality of discussions and facts shared along with the massive reach. 3700+ people had notably registered for the event and the peak attendance was around 2400. This is an achievement for the whole of the Indian Real Estate fraternity as such an event has never been recorded before where this many people came to learn about real estate.

Other dignitaries who spoke on the event were- Salman Khalid, Managing Director of Redifice Developers, Ravi Kant and Pavan Tripathi, the two founders of Elegance Enterprises and the four panelists namely- Amit Hardi, S.C. Tripathi, Veena Krishnan and S. Sunil Kumar. All of these people shared their valuable insights and experiences. Ravi Kant & Pavan talked about their vision and ambitions related to the project while the panel answered the problems people face when it comes to anything related to farmlands.

Amit Hardi, CEO of Nukebox Studios- a gaming company shared how his experience as a farmland enthusiast has been being from a completely unrelated background. Veena, a Real Estate Lawyer with 20+ years of experience in real estate laws spoke of the legal rights and wrongs of farmland deals. While Mr.Tripathi and Mr. Kumar shared their grassroot level knowledge of developing, managing and nurturing a farmland being an agricultural scientist, and a managed farmland developer respectively.

  • The new app brings hope to 70,000 cancer patients seeking reliable information to navigate their treatment journey

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], June 15: Cancer patients in India now have access to CURIA, a first-of-its-kind app developed by Swiss company OncoCoin AG, the most decentralized and equitable ecosystem of cancer information. CURIA, with a global community of over 150,000, empowers patients with individualised information on treatments, clinical trials, and experts. It provides them with the much-needed support to navigate the tough decisions throughout their treatment journey.

According to a report by WHO, 1 in every 10 Indians will develop cancer in their lifetime. There were as many as 1.16 million new cancer cases and 784,800 cancer deaths in 2018 alone. High mortality, combined with over 500 types of cancers, has generated a need for highly relevant information more than ever before.

CURIA empowers patients and their families with individualized information about approved therapies, clinical trials, and medical experts. Built over the OncoCoin platform, CURIA offers services such as tailored information, second opinion, and the opportunity to participate in research programmes. The timely availability of this information at patient’s fingertips helps them navigate through tough decisions throughout their treatment journey.

Speaking of this, Amit Ananpara, Innoplexus India Co-MD, said “Globally, 70% of cancer patients feel they do not get the information they need to make informed decisions. Specifically in India, limited knowledge of ongoing clinical trials leaves a gap in research involvement, stifling new insights. CURIA has successfully bridged such gaps in Europe. We look forward to helping cancer patients in India in their journey to cure.”

    Amit Ananpara and Gunjan Bhardwaj

The tailored options in the app seek to answer three main questions which are often at the forefront of patients’ minds when they are diagnosed with cancer: ‘What are the treatment options available to me’, ‘What clinical trials could I participate in’, and ‘Who are the experts for my cancer type’. CURIA serves as a basis for patients to understand those options for their treatment journey, and to have more engaged discussions with their doctors about what’s right for them.

Adding further, Gunjan Bhardwaj, Founder & CEO, Innoplexus, said, “Cancer is one of the most common non-communicable diseases in India today. What exacerbates the situation further is the fact that there is a clear lack of information on the condition. We aim to bridge this gap through CURIA and enable individuals with this condition to connect with other cancer patients and share information.”

CURIA’s popular feature “Cancer Twin”, addresses patients’ need to connect with someone who really understands what they’re going through. The algorithm matches patients with the most similar other cancer profiles. They can share experiences through a private chat, anonymously. All conversations are encrypted through blockchain, bringing in the highest level of security to protect patient’s vital health information.

CURIA’s India launch follows successful launches in Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and France. It is available on Android and iOS platforms.

    About Curia
