Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 22: Jaipur-based Edtech Startup Bodhi AI has raised $200K from Hyderabad-based The Marwari Angels (MAAN), Founders Angel Network (FAN), Mumbai-based JIIF Shark Angels (JSA), Gurgaon-based Edtech Accelerator UIncept (an existing investor), Surat-based Ivy Growth, and Bangalore based POD. Angel investors Mr Harsh Pokharna (Founder of OK Credit) and Mr Bhola Meena (Founder of Onlinetyaari) also participated in this round.

Bodhi AI’s vision is to become the next Google search for live videos and a marketplace for those creators who want to grow their audience base and revenues. Targeting the ed-tech sector currently, it is reimagining the student learning experience and helping teachers not just bring their classrooms online but also sell their courses.

Founder and CEO, Mr Prashant Pandey, an Engineer from the University of Birmingham explains “The need for a 1-to-1 personal assistant is evident from the fact that any question that requires a discussion or research has no quick or trustable solutions. We are on our path to make this 1-to-1 connection interactive in real-time and engaging for every student.”

Bodhi AI is on its way to disrupting the ed tech market by connecting at least 1 million students to a teacher over a 1-to-1 video call. A student comes to their platform, posts a doubt, and instantly connects to a teacher over a video call. The teacher can further interact with the student, solve his/her doubts and can upsell their courses.

Founder and COO, Mr Piyush Agarwal emphasises what a teacher needs said “Every teacher is literally searching for ways to get more student admissions and revenues. With these funds, we will aggressively help teachers grow their student base and increase their income online.

Founded by Prashant Pandey and Piyush Agarwal, team Bodhi AI is a team of 35 Bodhis including engineers and Management professionals working in various departments. In March 2022, Bodhi AI acquired a Kota-based ed-tech startup Skoolstream founded by IIT graduates. Also, in January 2022 Bodhi AI represented India in Global Edtech Startup Awards (GESA) held in London.

The ed-tech ecosystem is yet to evolve in terms of personalisation. The founders of Bodhi AI, being around 5 years old, clearly understand the problems of a teacher and a student very well. Every teacher and student has unique needs that require a customised way of delivering solutions with the use of technology.

“Ed-Tech players like Bodhi AI are a unique blend of AI and content delivery platform which provides students with a highly responsive platform for their quick doubt-solving requirement. With the ever-changing technology landscape- Bodhi AI is on top of the evolution curve which focuses on instant problem-solving and provides a scalable platform for teachers to generate leads for their coaching or tuition business. It is definitely a unicorn in making.” Subhash Tripathi- Founders Angel Network & Marwari Angel Network.

The Indian Coaching Industry is a $21 Billion annual cashflow market and there are around 9.7 million coaching institutes or teachers in India. Presently, Bodhi AI has over 3500+ premium Coaching institutes and is targeting 50000+ active premium Institutes by the end of F.Y. 2023-24.

October 21: With every one in ten students aspiring to be a doctor in India, medicine has become one of the most preferred and sought-after courses willingly opted for by lakhs of Indian students with a strong dedication to serving humanity. This year, more than 18 lakhs students appeared for the NEET exam to kickstart their medical careers, but only about 56% of the students qualified for it.

The organization opens the gateway of overseas medical education for aspiring doctors in India and helps them pursue their dream careers in the beautiful country of Russia. Now, even if students have only passed NEET scores, they can still pursue MBBS courses in Russia and become good doctors.”

The procedure for MBBS admission in Russia for medical students from Ukraine is made hassle-free with their online transcripts, and they can submit their original documents at later stages. So far, more than 500 transfer students from Ukraine have been accommodated in these universities, and more such batches will leave for Russia soon. Rus Education makes efforts to ensure that, as far as possible, these students do not undergo any academic losses during transfer and that medical education is offered to them seamlessly and at a flexible and payable fee structure.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world in 2020 and the world came to a standstill, Rus Education went all the way to arrange special online classes for the students with the help of Russian medical universities so that they don’t miss their crucial period of academics. The dedication with which the education facilitator worked for the medical students in those challenging times was indeed laudable.

With a strong aim to promote Russian medical education in India, Rus Education organizes the Russian Education Fair every year for aspiring doctors in India, bringing together 25+ top Russian universities under one roof. Aspiring medical students can get firsthand authentic university information from the delegates directly and wisely choose the right university for their education in Russia. • Are we doing enough to ensure students receive equal rights to education?

Are we doing enough to ensure students receive equal rights to education?

    Read Time:3 Minute, 55 Second

October 17: A common entrance exam said to take away bias for students entering into medical and dental colleges was put in place as the NEET UG examination in 2013. But now, 9 years later, the highly competitive NEET UG examination is still said to be in favor of the elite. It was quoted by a high-level committee that “NEET has undermined the diverse societal representation in MBBS and higher medical studies favoring mainly the affordable and affluent segments while thwarting the dreams of underprivileged social groups to pursue medical education”. It was also concluded by this committee that “NEET is against disadvantaged groups.” Multiple political parties have been at play debating whether NEET is the right way to proceed with fair education. To top it off, the extreme inequality of wealth distribution across India with a majority of household’s incomes making less than the nation’s average, gives a huge disadvantage to these students. Many of these students also live in rural or Tier 2 cities without access to the high-quality education and preparation materials needed to prepare for such a competitive examination.

There are approximately over 18 lakh medical aspirants applying for NEET UG each year and with branded NEET coaching centers charging up to 1 lakh for admission, how can we ensure that students from remote locations as well as low and ,even, middle-income groups have access to equal education quality? It’s here where technology has advanced education to make this possible. Few Ed-tech platforms such as Physics Wallah and Basidia Learning, created by authentic educators in hopes to bridge this gap in education have come forward. These platforms allow students across the nation to have access to high-quality standard material needed to score well and rank high. PhysicsWallah, one of India’s top online Ed-tech platforms provides comprehensive learning for students from classes 6 to 12, NEET UG, and IIT-JEE. Basidia Learning aims to help students with active learning and functions as a practice substitute. This platform, created by a group of doctors for future doctors, provides notes, interactive lessons, videos from top faculty members, custom and mock tests for assessments, and MCQs most likely to appear on the actual NEET UG exam. With over 91% of NEET concepts coming from Basidia, students from remote locations and lower income families can access Basidia from a mobile, tab, or computer anywhere, anytime. Their pocket-friendly prices are 1/10th of the prices of the big, branded coaching centers and have a more up-to-date study approach that is proven to be more effective for these competitive exams. With elite coaching centers backed by multi-billion-dollar companies focused on marketing and business profits over student’s educational standards, these online platforms created by educators with an aim to actually help students are coming to the forefront. Many of the recent NEET UG toppers have shared they used Basidia learning for their daily practice. “My favorite part about Basidia was the learn feature. You can click on a subject, lesson, and subtopic of your choice, which is based on a few pages from NCERT, read it thoroughly and solve MCQs on that topic. This helped a lot. With regular mock tests, my score jumped from 555 to 600+.” says a NEET UG topper. “The way Basidia gives explanations and answers to each question was amazing,” says Lay Ladani, with an all-India rank of 4415.

With all the pressures students have to face, these online educational platforms make studying easier by providing the material exactly needed to crack the exam without overwhelming students with unnecessary information. As per insider sources, every student paying expensive fees enrolled in elite coaching centers doesn’t get access to the top teachers. In fact, more than 70% of students don’t receive their preferred batch of teachers. Only those who rank high in mock tests would have access to those educators and students scoring less are denied access to these top faculty members. This discriminates against slow learners, not giving them a chance at a higher quality of education.  Ed-tech platforms allow all students, regardless of scores and ranks, to have access to top faculty and high-quality preparation material. With the new revolution in education incorporating more online videos and classes and virtual mock and custom tests, students can obtain maximum benefit from these platforms and have the potential to secure a coveted medical seat in the college of their choice.

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], October 15: The University Of East London (UEL), London’s pioneering career-led university since 1898, will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2023.

UEL’s Career Zone team, which has forged extensive progressive links with the major industries and employers in the Greater London area, was recently honoured with the “Best Employability Strategy 2022” award at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards ceremony, and the university was named the “Rising Star in UK Higher Education” by Time magazine in 2019.

UEL’s Vision 2028 outlines the university’s commitment to providing students with a cutting-edge educational experience that combines the highest standards of education with meaningful work placements and industry networking opportunities. This vision has helped UEL rise to the ranks of the world’s top 250 young universities. This powerful combination will have a significant impact on the next generation’s potential leaders and business owners.

Every Indian student has the dream of realizing his or her full potential and making a difference in the world by pioneering new ways of living, working, and thinking. The University Of East London (UEL) is ideally situated to help students achieve their professional goals by providing a wide range of programmes with an eye toward the future.

Daniel Cuffe, UEL’s Director of Recruitment, and Pavel Bawa, UEL’s Senior Regional Manager of South Asia, are now on a cross-country trip to India to meet with and get insight from the country’s up-and-coming leaders. In a recent trip to Gujarat, top UEL executives had the opportunity to network with local agents and prospective students. Global Colliance, platinum partners of the institution, hosted them during their stay in Vadodara.

“Whilst we worked hard to facilitate educational progress during the pandemic and have seen strong academic outcome improvements, the distance created by not being able to be together in shared spaces really impacted our collective sense of belonging to the amazing UEL community,” said Daniel Cuffe.

During the 2022–2023 academic years, he says, “we have a chance to make learning at UEL more engaging by putting human interaction at the centre of the development of academic, career-related, and personal skills.”

“We continue positively on our vision 2028 journey for the year ahead, driving us towards the forefront of careers-led Education, preparing our students for the jobs and opportunities of the future and advancing that future inclusively and sustainably,” says Daniel.

In the penultimate days leading up to our 125th anniversary, we are in the final stages of planning. In 2023, the University as a whole will have been a part of the world for 125 years, a period filled with groundbreaking careers and innovative solutions to the challenges of a rapidly developing world. According to Pavel Bawa, “we have a year packed with interesting and engaging activities building up to the anniversary date itself and the commencement of our Global Futures Strategic investment programme into future research and impact.” This programme will kick off in October 2023.

According to Pavel, “our ambitious but achievable ambition is to become the top careers-focused, entrepreneurial university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the occupations of the future and delivers the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively.”
