  • Prikansha Luthra and the Emerging Voice of Women in India’s Defence Manufacturing Ecosystem

Prikansha Luthra and the Emerging Voice of Women in India’s Defence Manufacturing Ecosystem

New Delhi [India], March 13: India’s defence manufacturing sector is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by technological advancement, policy evolution, and a growing national focus on self-reliance. Within this dynamic environment, a new generation of leadership is emerging, one that brings diverse perspectives, interdisciplinary expertise, and a strong commitment to building long-term national capability. Among such leaders is Prikansha Luthra, Co-Founder and Director of Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions, whose work reflects the growing influence of women in shaping India’s strategic industries.

With a professional background that bridges journalism and business, Prikansha Luthra brings a distinctive perspective to leadership in the defence sector. Her experience has equipped her with analytical clarity, communication insight, and operational discipline, qualities that are increasingly valuable in industries where strategic decisions must align with both innovation and national priorities. Her journey reflects a broader shift in leadership across sectors traditionally regarded as complex and highly specialised.

Women today are entering such domains not as symbolic representatives but as professionals contributing meaningfully to strategy, governance, and long-term institutional development. Their participation reflects a changing narrative – one where expertise, competence, and vision are becoming the defining factors of leadership.

At Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions, Prikansha Luthra plays a key role in aligning the organisation’s innovation efforts with India’s broader defence and self-reliance objectives. Operating in a sector that demands precision, regulatory awareness, and long-term strategic planning requires careful coordination across multiple disciplines. Her work focuses on ensuring that operational decisions remain aligned with national priorities while fostering an organisational culture built on accountability, efficiency, and responsible execution.

For her, empowerment is not defined by visibility alone but by the ability to influence meaningful outcomes. Leadership, in this sense, is about contributing to decisions that shape the direction of an organisation and the value it delivers to the broader ecosystem. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, financial oversight, and strengthening collaborative frameworks that support indigenous defence innovation. By maintaining a balance between creativity and governance, she contributes to systems designed for reliability, sustainability, and long-term impact.

The defence manufacturing ecosystem itself is evolving rapidly as India strengthens its domestic capabilities and reduces dependence on external sources. This transformation is not driven by technology alone; it is also shaped by the quality of leadership guiding organisations through an increasingly complex landscape. Leaders today must navigate regulatory frameworks, oversee technological development, and build strategic partnerships that support sustainable growth.

In such an environment, diverse leadership perspectives are proving increasingly valuable. The presence of women across industry forums, leadership platforms, and strategic discussions signals a gradual but important shift in how expertise is recognised. Their growing participation reflects a move toward merit-based leadership, where knowledge, insight, and capability define influence rather than traditional expectations.

Engagement in national conversations around manufacturing ecosystems, technology innovation, and strategic capability development further highlights the importance of inclusive leadership. When organisations bring together individuals with varied professional experiences and perspectives, decision-making becomes more balanced and adaptive. Such diversity strengthens innovation, enhances organisational resilience, and encourages more forward-looking strategies.

Leadership in sectors like defence manufacturing also reveals an important truth: effective leadership today is less about authority and more about clarity of thought and consistency of action. In environments defined by complexity and responsibility, the ability to make informed decisions while maintaining transparency and trust across teams becomes a defining quality.

For Prikansha Luthra, balancing decisiveness with empathy has been central to building resilient organisational processes. Defence manufacturing requires collaboration between engineers, strategists, policymakers, and industry partners. Creating an environment where these stakeholders feel aligned with shared goals enables organisations to operate more effectively within demanding and high-stakes environments.

Another dimension increasingly shaping leadership in the defence sector is sustainability. While often associated with environmental considerations, sustainability in strategic industries extends to broader institutional priorities. It includes resilient supply chains, ethical governance practices, skill development, and long-term organisational stability.

Integrating these principles into operational frameworks allows organisations to grow responsibly while remaining aligned with national interests. Sustainable leadership focuses not only on expansion but also on building systems capable of delivering consistent performance over time. In sectors connected to national security and technological advancement, this balanced approach becomes particularly important.

Equally significant is the human dimension of leadership. Inclusive work cultures encourage multidisciplinary collaboration, accountability, and open dialogue. In industries where precision and reliability are critical, such environments strengthen both productivity and adaptability. Teams built on trust and transparency are better equipped to navigate challenges and pursue innovation with confidence.

Women leaders increasingly recognise collaboration and transparency as strategic strengths rather than peripheral qualities. By prioritising these principles, they contribute to organisational cultures that combine discipline with empathy. Such cultures strengthen operational performance while also helping organisations attract and retain talent capable of sustaining long-term growth.

For emerging leaders, particularly women aspiring to enter complex and high-responsibility industries, the journey offers an important lesson. Progress is rarely linear, and credibility is often built through perseverance rather than immediate recognition. Beginning before conditions feel perfectly ideal and remaining committed through uncertainty helps develop both capability and confidence.

As India continues to strengthen its defence manufacturing ecosystem, leadership will remain a decisive factor shaping the sector’s future. The increasing presence of women in leadership roles reflects a broader shift toward inclusive participation and forward-looking governance.

Through strategic insight, dedication, and a commitment to responsible innovation, leaders like Prikansha Luthra represent the evolving character of India’s defence industry – one that is becoming more resilient, collaborative, and reflective of the diverse talent contributing to the nation’s long-term strategic progress.

  • Gujarat Urban Development Mission Honoured with Best Community Impact Project Award at Water Transversality Global Awards and Conclave 2026

Gujarat Urban Development Mission Honoured with Best Community Impact Project Award at Water Transversality Global Awards and Conclave 2026

L-R: Dr. Arvind Kumar, President-India Water Foundation, Sh. OM Birla, Hon’ble Speaker-Lok Sabha, Sh. N L Patel, GM – Tech-GUIDM, Dr. Satya Tripathi, Scretary General-Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet
New Delhi [India], March 13: The Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM) was honoured with the ‘Best Community Impact Project Award’ at the Water Transversality Global Awards and Conclave 2026, held on 6th March at India International Centre, New Delhi organised by India Water Foundation. The award recognized the Mission’s innovative and technology-driven initiative of establishing an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to monitor and manage sewer network cleaning operations across municipalities in Gujarat.

The award was presented by the Chief Guest, Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, who emphasized during the inauguration and awards felicitation that development and environmental sustainability must progress together. He highlighted that water conservation, energy efficiency, and environmental protection require coordinated governance and active citizen participation. Stressing the interconnected nature of water, health, and the environment, he underscored the need for integrated and technology-enabled solutions to address urban sustainability challenges.

The recognition for GUDM was awarded for its Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) initiative, which has significantly strengthened monitoring and management of sewer network cleaning operations across 156 municipalities in Gujarat. The ICCC serves as a centralized digital platform that enables real-time monitoring, improved operational coordination, and data-driven decision-making for urban sanitation and water management systems.

Through the use of advanced technologies and digital oversight mechanisms, the ICCC has improved the efficiency and safety of sewer maintenance operations. The platform enables municipal authorities to track cleaning schedules, monitor field operations, and respond quickly to operational challenges. This has enhanced accountability and streamlined maintenance processes across the state’s urban local bodies.

One of the most significant outcomes of the initiative has been the reuse and conservation of millions of litres of water, which previously went to waste during sewer cleaning operations. By enabling systematic monitoring and improved operational efficiency, the ICCC has strengthened water reuse practices while reducing environmental impact. The initiative also contributes to safer working conditions for sanitation workers by enabling better supervision and structured management of sewer maintenance activities.

The jury of the Water Transversality Global Awards noted that the initiative reflects an innovative application of technology to address urban water management challenges, while simultaneously generating tangible social and environmental benefits for communities. The project demonstrates how integrated digital systems can transform urban infrastructure management and improve public service delivery at scale.

The Gujarat Urban Development Mission plays a pivotal role in implementing modern urban infrastructure, planning, and governance reforms across cities and municipalities in the state. Through initiatives focusing on water management, sanitation, urban planning, and smart infrastructure, the Mission seeks to improve quality of life and promote sustainable urban development for millions of citizens.

Under the Mission, both major cities and smaller municipal areas in Gujarat are adopting technology-driven governance frameworks, enabling more efficient management of civic services, improved infrastructure planning, and enhanced transparency in public administration. These efforts align with broader national priorities of strengthening sustainable cities, improving resource efficiency, and promoting environmentally responsible urban growth.

The Best Community Impact Project Award recognizes the Gujarat Urban Development Mission’s contribution to building resilient, technology-enabled, and environmentally responsible urban systems. By integrating digital innovation with urban governance, the ICCC initiative has created a scalable model for improving sewer management, conserving water resources, and enhancing the efficiency of municipal services.

This recognition at an international platform highlights Gujarat’s commitment to sustainable urban transformation and community-centric governance, demonstrating how technology and innovative planning can significantly improve urban infrastructure while protecting vital environmental resources.

  • Meet Rimpy Pilaannia the designer who turns Spaces into Stories

Meet Rimpy Pilaannia the designer who turns Spaces into Stories

New Delhi [India], March 13: Every space has a story waiting to be told.  Interior designer and leading Women Entrepreneur Rimpy Pilaannia works closely to bring that story to life. Through her design studio, she focuses on shaping interiors that feel meaningful, comfortable, and visually striking, proving that good design is not only seen but also experienced.

Rimpy Pilaannia, based in Delhi and has gradually established herself in the interior design and architecture market through her studio Rimpy Pilaania Design. Her work is aimed at merging creativity and thoughtfulness, each color, texture, and detail has its purpose. This method has over the years assisted her in creating areas that are sophisticated yet comfortable.

    Where the Journey Began

Rimpy began his experience with design through simple curiosity, how spaces exactly influence people. She believed that the environment around us can quietly shape our mood, productivity, and emotions. This belief eventually turned into a passion for designing interiors that feel alive and personal.

Since the very beginning of her career, Rimpy Pilaania had a single idea, minor details are what make the whole space. She does not irrelevantly follow the trail of passing trends but concentrates on designing the clear identity of each project. Lighting, textures, materials and placement of furniture are well thought to ensure all the elements work in harmony with each other.

To her design is not about making a place seem luxurious but an interpretation of how people live, and then making a space that will actually support their lifestyle.

    Creating Spaces of Character

Rimpy has over the years done numerous projects which include luxury houses and commercial premises. The projects have enabled her to explore various design themes without losing the essence of the project, each space should be given its personality.

She has frequently incorporated the modern interior as well as classical elements in large residential apartments. Interiors have clean lines, are textured with warm feeling walls and elegant panels. The use of natural materials and subtle color palette to provide homes with a peaceful and timeless appearance is also applied in many of her projects.

She enjoys designing not only homes and sample apartments but also corporate and marketing offices, each requiring a very different approach. In these projects, the focus is on creating work environments that feel professional yet inspiring. Thoughtful layouts, minimalist design, open workspaces, and contemporary furniture help shape offices that support productivity while still feeling welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.

Rimpy Pilaannia-PNnDesigning for People, Not Just Places

One of the most unique aspects of Rimpy’s work is how she approaches every project as a story. Instead of repeating the same style everywhere, she first studies how the space will be used.

For example, while designing healthcare interiors like IVF centers, she focuses on creating an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and emotionally comforting. Soft lighting, soothing colors, and balanced layouts help create spaces where people can feel at ease.

On the same note, she also considers daily living habits when coming up with designs on residential interiors. The outcome is aesthetically beautiful houses which are also functional and family-friendly.

    A Growing Design Vision

To this day, Rimpy is still continuing to grow her business by adding residential and commercial developments in multiple cities. Her design studio is concerned with design interiors in such a way that it does not adhere to the usual trends but makes it unique.

She is also experimenting with new ideas such as holiday homes and experiential spaces in which architecture and lifestyle are combined to produce immersive spaces.

She feels that a good designed space must be silent to express the character of people who use it. and she can make Rimpy Pilaania go on to demonstrate how with a carefulness and detail that will help an individual image interior design can become the means of turning the mundane into something that does really come to pass.

  • How Priyanshi Chhabra is Creating a Design First Digital Company With Createbytes

How Priyanshi Chhabra is Creating a Design First Digital Company With Createbytes

New Delhi [India], March 13: For many companies the design follows the construction of a product. But Priyanshi Chhabra believes that process ought to begin with the design itself. As the Co-Founder and CEO of CreateBytes, she is driving businesses to a future where innovation starts with creativity and thinking for the user. With more than 8 years of multi-disciplinary experience in designing, product development, branding, and business operations, Priyanshi has created a career for herself.

However, during her early work with digital products, she noticed a recurring gap in how technology companies approached product development. Design was often introduced only after the technology had already been built. This meant products worked technically but struggled to deliver intuitive user experiences. This realization became a turning point and eventually led to the creation of CreateBytes.

The Early Learning That Built Her Design Philosophy

Her journey began with a good Academic foundation in National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi from where she did her Masters degree in the field of Design and Applied Arts. The institute is known as one of the best design schools in India which helped her to develop her understanding of visual communication, aesthetics and user centred design.

In 2024 she further broadened her creative vision in a special course at the University of the Arts, London in Editorial Styling and Creative Direction. The international exposure strengthened her ability to think outside of the visuals and work on design as a strategic tool for storytelling and building a brand.

    Leading CreateBytes

At CreateBytes, Priyanshi is the CEO and the Head of Design. Her leadership philosophy is simple – design should never be an afterthought. Instead it should be used as a guiding factor in how products are imagined, built and how they are experienced by the user. Today, CreateBytes positions itself as an AI-first technology company where design thinking strengthens how intelligent products are built and experienced.

Under her leadership, CreateBytes has grown into a full-service design and technology company that can help brands to create identities, digital platforms, and AI-driven solutions. The company combines AI engineering, product development, and strategic design to help businesses build scalable and intelligent digital solutions.

Her focus is to ensure that every product that the company makes is not only beautiful but also practical, intuitive and impactful for the people using the product.

How Design Became the Core of CreateBytes

How Priyanshi Chhabra is Creating a Design First Digital Company With Createbytes -PNNPriyanshi believes that good design is not entirely about the look. According to her, design is how systems work, how people interact with systems, how well they solve real problems. This way of thinking has helped the company to develop long-term relationships with clients that come back not only for the services, but for strategic collaboration.

Many of CreateBytes successful projects are based on Priyanshi’s understanding in brand clarity, design story telling and market positioning. She has been instrumental in helping companies communicate complex ideas through understandable design systems that help their business grow and develop their brand. Her professional journey is also impacted by active involvement in entrepreneurial communities such as Leap.club and Quorum where she’s involved with the other founders and leaders in the industry. These networks give her the opportunity to voice her thoughts, talk about possible collaborations with people and keep up with the trends that are evolving in the industry.

Beyond her work at CreateBytes, Priyanshi is a writer of a piece of creative passion StyleAlchemy by Priyanshi, a personal styling and fashion storytelling platform. Through this venture, she digs into fashion, editorial ideas, and personal expression with the intention of shifting the dialogue about fashion from trend to personal expression and individuality.

StyleAlchemy reflects her beliefs that design is not limited to digital screens and business products. For her, design is a living experience that affects how people express themselves, how they express their ideas and connect with the world.

    Looking ahead in the Future

Looking ahead, Priyanshi has envisioned CreateBytes to be a company where design and technology go hand in hand to create intelligent and human-centred solutions. Along with Co-Founder and CTO Aditya’s vision for the technology, her vision is to create a deep focus on customer needs and meaningful impact in creating a digital innovation company.

Going forward, the company plans to strengthen its focus on AI-led product development, generative AI solutions, and scalable digital platforms for global businesses. The goal is to position CreateBytes as a long-term AI innovation partner for startups and enterprises looking to build intelligent technology solutions.

At the end of his journey, Priyanshi Chhabra has a very clear philosophy: Design is not about how something looks, it is about how it empowers people, how it creates connections, and how it turns thoughts into real experiences.

  • The Safety Upgrade: Moving from Third-Party to Comprehensive during Your Renewal

The Safety Upgrade: Moving from Third-Party to Comprehensive during Your Renewal

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 12: Renewal lets you rethink protection, not just renew a payment. If you are on a third-party policy, upgrading to a comprehensive plan can cover the costs that hurt the most: repairing or replacing your own car. It is also the one point in the year when you naturally compare options, review your driving pattern, and decide what level of peace of mind feels right.

In this article, you will explore why upgrading at renewal makes sense, what comprehensive cover adds, and how to choose wisely.

Third-Party Cover: What It Does And What It Leaves Out

Third-party car insurance protects you when your car causes injury, death, or property damage to someone else. It helps handle liability and compensation. What it does not do is pay for your car’s losses.

    You typically still fund:

    • Damage to your own car after an accident
    • Theft, fire, floods, and similar events affecting your vehicle

So, if you want your own car covered too, a third-party alone will not be enough.

Comprehensive Cover: What Changes When You Upgrade

A comprehensive policy combines third-party liability with own-damage cover for your car. It protects both the other party and your vehicle.

    • Covers your car’s damage from accidents, based on policy terms.
    • Protects against theft losses and provides financial relief when they occur.
    • Includes cover for fire-related damage to your vehicle.
    • May cover select natural events, such as floods, storms, or earthquakes.
    • Can cover certain man-made events, as defined in policy wording.
    • Add options such as zero depreciation, engine cover, or roadside assistance.

Why Renewal Is the Best Time to Switch

Switching at renewal is smoother because your policy is due for review. You can adjust the car’s declared value, choose add-ons, and keep continuity without a gap. Avoiding a lapse matters because a break in car insurance can create hassle later.

    • Renewal is the natural moment to reassess cover without rushing.
    • You can update IDV to match your car’s current value.
    • Add-ons can be chosen based on how you drive today.
    • Continuity stays intact, so claims and benefits face fewer hurdles.

Quick Self-Check: Are You Ready for the Upgrade?

Comprehensive cover is worth considering when an unexpected repair would disrupt your budget. Upgrading is a strong fit if:

    • You often drive in traffic, on highways, or in heavy rains
    • You park in shared spaces where dents and scratches are common
    • You rely on your car for everyday routines and longer routes

How to Upgrade Smartly at Renewal

A comprehensive plan works best when it aligns with your actual risk, not generic advice.

    Set IDV with Realistic Expectations

IDV is the value you declare for insurance. Set it too low, and a total loss or theft payout may feel inadequate. Set it too high, and you may end up paying more than you need to. Choose a realistic value that reflects your car’s current worth.

Pick Add-Ons for How You Actually Drive

Choose add-ons based on how you actually use your car, not on what sounds impressive. Zero depreciation can reduce deductions on replaced parts, engine protection helps in waterlogged routes, and roadside assistance is handy for frequent outstation drives.

Read the Exclusions before You Commit

Before you commit and pay, read the exclusions and deductibles carefully so that claim time does not bring unpleasant surprises. Watch for wear and tear, mechanical or electrical failures, and usage conditions that your policy does not allow.

Judge Claims Support, Not Only Price

When an accident happens, smooth claim support is what you will remember. Check the insurer’s cashless garage network near you, clarity on claim steps (inspection, approval, repair), and how easy it is to reach support.

    Common Misunderstandings to Avoid

Comprehensive does not mean everything is covered.

    • Wear and tear and mechanical issues are usually excluded
    • Policy breaches, like an invalid licence, can invalidate claims
    • Bumper-to-bumper protection generally needs a zero depreciation add-on

    Final Word

Third-party cover protects others from your driving risk. Comprehensive car insurance helps protect your savings from repairs, theft, and everyday road uncertainty. If your car is part of your routine, renewal is a sensible time to upgrade and drive with fewer “what if” worries. You are not just buying a policy, you are buying breathing space when something unexpected disrupts your day.

  • Are We Living on Our Phones? Jolt App Study of 10,000 Users Reveals Shocking Trends

Are We Living on Our Phones? Jolt App Study of 10,000 Users Reveals Shocking Trends

New Delhi [India], March 12: A new global study has found that daily smartphone use has climbed to levels researchers say could reshape how people work, rest, and recover. The State of Human Attention report, released by The Jolt Screen Time App, the best screen time app, analysed the behaviour of nearly 10,000 users and discovered that the average person now spends 5 hours and 37 minutes per day on their phone. The findings suggest that high screen exposure is no longer an exception but a defining feature of modern life.

One of the most significant insights from the report is that elevated screen time is not tied to teenagers alone. Instead, the data shows a steady, long-lasting pattern of high usage from early adolescence to mid-adulthood, indicating that smartphone dependence is now deeply linked to work responsibilities, communication needs, and lifestyle habits.

    Key Findings From the Report

    • The average user spends 5 hours and 37 minutes each day on their smartphone, which researchers say is now a common global behaviour.
    • Legal, consulting, and finance professionals record the highest daily usage, spending an average of 6.75 hours on their phones.
    • Academic and research professionals spend an average of 6.4 hours per day on their devices, making them one of the most screen-exposed groups.
    • Workers in service, retail, and hospitality roles spend around 6.26 hours daily, showing that high screen time is not limited to office-based jobs.
    • Creative, media, corporate, and operations workers approach six hours of daily use, reflecting the growing digital nature of modern work.
    • Blue-collar professionals record 5.37 hours of daily usage, proving that smartphone dependence extends across all industries.
    • Phone usage rises sharply during rest moments, including late at night before sleeping, early mornings after waking, short breaks, commutes, and waiting periods.

Profession-based data reveals how deeply digital work has expanded. Several industries now exceed six hours of daily phone use, and even roles once considered low-tech now show high digital involvement. Researchers say this reflects a wider shift: smartphones have become central to workflows, expectations, and communication, making long hours of screen exposure “structural rather than optional.”

The report highlights that screen time rises most sharply during moments intended for rest. Instead of being used only during active work, phones are also filling moments of silence, boredom, or emotional release. This pattern raises concerns about the shrinking space for mental recovery.

People who block their time with a clear plan often achieve better results. It is not just about blocking time, but about knowing exactly when to block it. Clarity is important. When you understand which hours matter most, you can protect them and use them wisely.

Research shows that certain time windows are especially important to save through time blocking:

    • Mornings: This is when your mind is fresh and focused. It is the best time for important and creative work.
    • Work hours: Blocking specific hours during the day helps you avoid distractions and stay productive.
    • Before bed: Protecting this time helps you relax, reduce screen use, and improve sleep quality.

Being intentional about these key time periods can make a big difference in your focus, performance, and overall results.

Users often restrict social platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, but the report notes that overall usage remains largely unchanged. This suggests that distraction is driven more by routine, environment, and work culture than by specific apps.

Speaking on the findings, Ankur Solanki, founder of the Jolt App, shared his view on the growing pressure on human attention: “What we see in this data is not a lack of discipline but a system that constantly pushes people toward their screens. Attention has become something people must defend, not something they can freely control. Our digital environments are designed for continuous engagement, and that makes it harder for individuals to find moments of rest or focus. If we want healthier habits, we need healthier environments not just stronger willpower.”

Researchers say the findings should encourage companies, educators, and policymakers to look beyond simple usage limits. As digital work becomes more widespread, understanding how screen time affects focus, recovery, and overall well-being is becoming increasingly important.

The report concludes that the real challenge is not avoiding technology but rebalancing how it fits into daily life, so that attention, rest, and productivity can coexist without competing for space.
