August 27: For the first time, approximately 75 eminent doctors from across India were honoured at the ’75 Under 75 Doctors’ event hosted by Hyderabad Media Television (hmtv) and The Hans India as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence. The doctors were honoured for their heroic efforts during the coronavirus pandemic and for curing a large number of sick people.

At the glittering ceremony held in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Telangana’s Health Minister Harish Rao Tanneru felicitated all the 75 doctors from government and private hospitals with the ’75 Under 75′ titles.

For the first time since the Coronavirus pandemic, hmtv and The Hans India organized a special title function to honour 75 renowned doctors from various medical fields with the title ’75 Under 75′ in recognition of their services to the nation on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day celebration. The 75 Under 75 titles represent freedom from illness, cancer, cardiac arrest, AIDS, and complex diseases.

Shri Harish Rao Tanneru, Telagana’s Health Minister, said, “hmtv and The Hans India are always at the forefront in rendering their social responsibility. It was overwhelming for me to witness 75 doctors from various states being felicitated with the title for their hard work and dedication.”

Harish Rao praised the efforts of doctors from private and government hospitals who worked around the clock during COVID-19 to save as many lives as possible and assist people in need. “During the pandemic, doctors and health workers put their lives in danger and were separated from their families for months.” All this was done to help the patients and save their lives. We are grateful for your courage, sacrifices, and unwavering support for patients during the pandemic.” Rao informed that Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao has done serious efforts to strengthen the medical sector in Telangana in the last eight years. “There were 17,000 beds in the hospitals in 2014, which increased to 27,000 beds. The government has provided oxygen facilities for all hospital beds”.

“The three-tier system in Telangana hospitals has been upgraded to five-tier,” Harish Rao added. The government is working to establish a medical college and a nursing college in each Telangana district. In addition, the government intends to increase the number of MBBS seats from 850 to 3,740. Telangana has become a medical tourism hub, with a large number of patients coming from other countries for treatment.”

Surat (Gujarat) [India], August 23: Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a leader in the world of diamonds, announced at an Independence Day event held on Monday that they would install a residential solar rooftop at the homes of 750 martyred soldiers and unsung heroes across India.

SRK’s community welfare arm, SRK Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), had organised an event named ‘Rashtra ki Roshni’ at SRK Sports Park, Surat, to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign. SRK, during the event, committed to the installation of a residential solar rooftop at the homes of martyrs and unsung heroes. The initiative will impact 3000+ lives while addressing the need for energy day & night—the project whose estimated cost is approx. Rs. 11 crores is a pioneering initiative by a diamond crafting and exports company.

The 750 KW rooftop solar systems will be used to power 750 homes. With this, the residents will be able to save Rs. 2000 per month over 25 years. SRK is accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and this initiative is a small step towards a green future among the various other initiatives.

In March this year, Govindkaka announced to make Dudhala in the Amreli district of Gujarat a green village by installing solar panels at all the homes. Earlier in 2016, at Nadabet, SRKKF had organised an event named “Hum Chale toh Hindustan Chale” to felicitate our brave army jawans.

The idea behind this noble initiative was to do something for the unsung heroes who would benefit them for a lifetime. SRK, under the visionary leadership of Govindkaka, has touched several thousand lives through their selfless social welfare work for over six decades. Govindkaka has set up a community welfare initiative, SRK Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), which has to date supported over 3,008,160 people with financial support for various educational scholarships and medical exigencies.

  • What are the cause of Kidney Disease in children?

What are the cause of Kidney Disease in children?

    Read Time:3 Minute, 18 Second

August 23: Kidney failure is a temporary or permanent kidney injury that leads to a lack of normal kidney function. Kidney failure is classified into two types: acute and chronic. Acute kidney failure has a sudden onset and may be reversible.

Chronic kidney failure develops slowly over at least three months and has the potential to lead to permanent kidney failure. Acute and chronic illnesses have diverse causes, symptoms, treatments, and results.

What is the impact of kidney disease on children?

Kidney disease can impact children in a variety of ways, ranging from manageable problems with no long-term repercussions to potentially fatal conditions. Acute kidney disease appears unexpectedly, lasts for a short period of time, and can be serious with long-term implications.

In Acute Kidney disease, Symptoms can be

    • Decreased or Absent Urine.
    • Blood in Urine.
    • Swelling Of feet or eyes.
    • Increased Blood Pressure.
    • Symptoms of the cause such as Fever, Rash, Dehydration, Low Haemoglobin, and Abdominal Pain.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) does not improve with treatment and worsens over time. When treated with a kidney transplant or blood-filtering procedures known as dialysis, CKD eventually leads to renal failure, which is end-stage kidney disease or ESRD.

Children who have CKD or kidney failure face these Symptoms

Chronic Symptoms such as Poor Appetite, Vomiting, Headache, Stunted growth,

High Blood pressure can lead to the following.

    • A poor self-image relationship issue
    • Issues with behaviour and learning
    • Difficulty concentrating
    • Delayed development of language skills
    • Delayed development of motor skills

Conditions that might cause acute or chronic renal failure include:

    Acute renal failure causes

    • For a time, blood flow to the kidneys can be reduced. This can happen as a result of blood loss, surgery, or shock such as Septic Shock.
    • An obstruction in the urinary tract.
    • Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). Kidney failure arises as a result of obstruction to the small functioning structures and veins inside the kidney.
    • Ingestion of some drugs that may cause kidney damage.
    • An acute glomerulonephritis is a form of kidney illness that affects the glomeruli. The glomeruli become inflamed during glomerulonephritis, impairing the kidney’s ability to filter urine.
    • Any disease, such as cardiac arrest may limit the delivery of oxygen and blood to the kidneys.

    Chronic renal failure causes

    • Birth defects – Renal agenesis, Renal dysplasia, Ectopic Kidney
    • A protracted obstruction or blockage of the urinary tract causes Reflex.
    • The syndrome of Alport: Deafness, gradual kidney failure, and eye impairments are all symptoms of this genetic illness.
    • Nephrotic syndrome is a condition caused by a variety of factors. Protein in the urine, low protein in the blood, elevated cholesterol levels, and tissue edoema are all symptoms of nephrotic syndrome.
    • Polycystic kidney disease is a hereditary condition that forms with many cysts in the kidneys that are filled with fluid.
    • Cystinosis: A hereditary condition in which the amino acid cystine (a common protein-building ingredient) accumulates within lysosomes, which are cellular structures in the kidney.
    • Recurrent UTI ( Urinary tract infection )

Treatment of kidney illness in children

The treatment for kidney disease in children is determined by the underlying cause of the condition. A pediatric nephrologist—a clinician who specializes in treating kidney illnesses and renal failure in children, should be referred to treat a child.

    • Diuretics to increase urine output.
    • Control of blood pressure by ACE inhibitor or ARBS
    • Correction of Sodium, Potassium and acidosis in the body by IV or oral medication
    • Correction of Anaemia and growth failure by Nutritional and diet modification
    • Management of the Underlying cause

    o Treating the shock

    o Preventing recurrent UTI

    o By Antibiotics in PSGN ( Post-Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis )

o Using Steroids and Immunomodulators in Nephrotic syndrome

o Surgical correction for reflux or urinary stones
