    Read Time:2 Minute, 51 Second

New Delhi, March 22: Several political aspirants have carved a niche for themselves by working at grassroots levels and reaching positions wherein they are part of the system that helps change the course of lives. One such name that stands out distinctly through sheer hard work is Raj Bahadhur Chauhan. A highly qualified person who holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Law, he also has completed his master’s in law. He is an entrepreneur by profession who has been able to make a name in political circles as well. He has been responsible for being the National Media In charge of the Indian National Congress appointed by the Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi To which, Mr. Raj Bahadhur has profusely thanked Shri Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi & Capt. Ajay Yadav (OBC Dept Chairman: AICC) for entrusting this responsibility.

Raj Bahadur Chauhan is the chairman of the All-India Jewellers & Swarankar Association. He was also a former candidate running for the Tilak Nagar Assembly constituency, New Delhi, in 2020. However, he had to concede his seat to another person, who eventually lost the election with only 1800 votes in his favour out of 2 lakh voters.
Being an entrepreneur came in handy to Mr. Chauhan, who knows how to manage the most valuable resource people. Holding the post of Chairman & Managing Director of Chauhan Ltd, Chauhan India Ltd & Taj Industries Ltd gave him the perspective to multitask and draw from people their needs and aspirations. Giving them the voice to fight for their rights and the support to march forward.

Since Mr. Chauhan had known the needs of the people because he has always been a people person, his association with various organizations before he even took a political plunge gave him the impetus to work on a large scale. And joining the political fray gave him the opportunity to be associated with great leaders like Shri Rahul Gandhi. He also got to meet other distinct and veteran party members who have been associated with dealing with people and the existing Governments. With their guidance and valuable advice, he knew his calling and joined the political arena.

Mr. Chauhan has stood for the rights of the All-India Jewellers Swarankar Association, which was agitating against the Central Government, which imposed the Excise duty on the jewellery industry. He took up the agitation at Jantar Mantar in the capacity of the chairman. He went on hunger strike for eight days without even consuming water to protest against the anti-people economic policies of the Government. The protest received huge support from the then Vice President of the Indian National Congress Shri Rahul Gandhi, and other senior party leaders such as Shri Digvijay Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Ashok Gehlot, Raja Warring, Ahmed Patel along with Ajay Maken, who visited the venue.

In his stand against the Government for having anti-masses policies, Mr. Chauhan was brave enough to start agitation at Ramlila Grounds in New Delhi. He got the support of 10 lakh people who joined him to rally for the above-said cause from different parts of the country. The Government had imposed excise duty on the jewellery industry in 2016.
Presently Mr. Chauhan is the National Media Incharge of the All India Congress Committee (OBC Dept).

American India Foundation’s nationwide initiative ‘The First Million’concludes with an iconic achievement of administering + 2 million COVID vaccine doses across 26 states of India

    Read Time:2 Minute, 45 Second

Mr. Mathew Joseph, Country Director, AIF

New Delhi (India), March 21: The First Million, a nationwide vaccination initiative by the American India Foundationthat set out to inoculate 1 million marginalized Indians in July 2021, has concluded with an iconic achievement of 2 million doses. Partnering with the Common Services Centre (CSC), local on-ground NGOs, and State governments, the Initiative was targeted towards India’s marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Focused on facilitating vaccination for sex workers, persons from tribal populations, migrant workers including street vendors, persons with disability and caregivers, vulnerable women, and minors (aged 15-18 years), the Initiative recognized them as the six most vulnerable groups in need of immediate intervention.

Covering over 2 million (20 lac) doses across 26states of India, the beneficiary’s index of the marginalized community in the 8-month campaign period is:

    1. 6.9 lac migrant workers including street vendors
    2. 6.8 lac vulnerable women
    3. 1.9 lac persons from tribal communities
    4. 1.3 lac persons with Disabilities & caregivers
    5. 23971 sex workers
    6. 2.9 lac minors aged 15-18 years

To address vaccine hesitancy, promote vaccine eagerness and COVID-19 appropriate behavior amongst the identified vulnerable population, AIF also designed and executed Mission Corona Vijay – HarBaazu Mein Taaqat, an integrated 360-degree behavior change communication (BCC) campaign under the Initiative to reach, persuade, and generate the much-needed awareness amongst the local individuals to get vaccinated and bust the myths, misinformation and fears around vaccines.

Speaking on the success of ‘The First Million’ initiative, Mr. Mathew Joseph, Country Director, AIF said, “The First Million vaccination program was a relentless initiative to ensure the safety of the marginalized sections of urban and rural India against COVID 19. AIF initiated ‘The First Million’ in 2021 at a time when vaccinations were not readily accessible in India. Adding to this ambitious vision was an almost impossible task to dedicate timely access to vaccinations for a segment of the society that is often neglected and not a priority, that too on a national scale. Our collaborative and sustained efforts with State Governments and our network of on-ground partners have enabled us to achieve this meticulous feat.”

Acknowledging the power of partnerships, Nishant Pandey, CEO, AIF said, “Our prioritized vision of inoculating a million most vulnerable Indians mobilizing them and helping them get vaccinated during the COVID crisis required a shared response and a collaborative momentum, and it is this core unity that has helped us achieve the milestone of 2 million doses in such a short period. The Initiative is exemplary and vital in helping the population of India against one of the most devastating and unprecedented challenges that the country has faced.”

To achieve the mammoth vision, along with CSC as the end to end facilitation partner, AIF’s strategic partnerships included Uber as the Mobility partner; Apollo Hospital as the Vaccine administration partner; EY India as the Process Monitoring partner; and National Association for Blind (NAB),National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI), Anaxee Digital Runners Pvt. Ltd., ASRA (MP), SAKSHAM, YRGCARE, Centre for Youth Development Activity (CYDA), Prodigal Homes, Himalayan Jyoti Samiti, Vaccine on Wheels, Leonard Cheshire, UVA JAGRITI SANSTHAN (UJS)as the implementation & outreach partners; and Wunderman Thompson and Gaon Connection as the BCC Campaign Partners.

Gujarat BJP President and MP – Navsari Constituency C R Paatil, celebrates his 67th birthday by awarding Rs 3.75 crore worth of scholarships to 108 students

    Read Time:2 Minute, 46 Second

Surat (Gujarat) [India], March 19: C R Paatil ji, Gujarat BJP President, celebrated his 67th birthday on Wednesday by awarding Rs 3.75 crore worth of ‘C R Paatil Scholarship’ to 108 Students from an economically weaker background studying at the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) run Suman High School, thereby relieving their parents from the financial burden for the same and providing a new direction for their Child’s future.

Paatil ji’s birthday was celebrated as ‘Gyanotsav’ in the presence of Social Leaders, Senior BJP leaders, BJP workers, Leading Industrialists and Professionals, and people from all walks of life at the Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium in Adajan (Surat), where these 108 students from the Suman High School were given the educational scholarship valuing at Rs 3.75 crore on Wednesday.

The ‘C R Paatil Scholarship’ will cover the Education expenses, including Registration fees, Books, Coaching fees, Physical and Mental Health Development workshops and not only this, the students will also get monthly pocket money under this scholarship for the first 36 months of the program.

Paresh Patel, Chairman of the SMC’s Standing committee, stated, “Whether it is BJP’s senior leader or a simple party worker, each one of us celebrates our birthday by performing some noble acts of helping somebody.” This is what our culture and tradition teach us. Similarly, Gujarat BJP President Shri C R Paatil ji’s birthday was commemorated not only for his social contribution but also for his ability to steer the society in a new positive and better path.” According to Paresh Patel, Children from low-income families have inferior learning outcomes. For example, children from lower-income families are more likely to have parents who are less educated and thus unable to acquire the same level of learning assistance as children from higher-income families. During the epidemic, remote learning created a channel that exacerbated the learning potential of comparatively disadvantaged children. This ‘C R Paatil Scholarship’ is a step in the direction of ensuring opportunity for the talent and potential that even these children hold.

Hari Arora, a Chartered Accountant and social media in-charge of Surat City BJP unit, said, “The CR Paatil Scholarship will give a new direction in building the future of 108 children of Suman High School. The students were made to take an oath that they too will shoulder the responsibility of the education of at least 1 poor Student once they succeed in life”. This will act as a chain “Pay it Forward” system to improve the living standard of the weakest section of the society.

I am privileged to be a part of this wonderful project, and I am committed to giving the best quality of education to these students, said CA Ravi Chhawcharia, who will be coaching these students.

The “Gyanotsav” event also witnessed a career counselling session and the cultural program for over 1,000 students of the SMC-run Suman High School.

The event witnessed the presence of Surat City BJP President Shri Niranjan Zanzmera, General Secretary Shri Mukesh Dalal, Shri Kishor Ji Bindal, Shri Kanubhai Bhimnath, Mayor Hemali Bodhawala, Deputy Mayor Dinesh Jodhani, Standing Committee chairman Paresh Patel, BJP leader Amit Singh Rajput, Samajik Leaders of Surat and office-bearers of Surat BJP unit.
