  • India’s Development March: From Spiritual Roots to Strategic Tech! A Unified Vision for a Viksit Bharat

India’s Development March: From Spiritual Roots to Strategic Tech! A Unified Vision for a Viksit Bharat

New Delhi [India], June 24: In a remarkable alignment of spiritual heritage, national security, economic self-reliance, digital governance, and environmental sustainability, India this week unveiled a bold portrait of its evolving identity, one rooted deeply in its civilizational ethos yet brimming with futuristic intent. From Vigyan Bhawan to defence installations, from policy think tanks to global investor platforms, the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled a multi-dimensional push toward a Viksit Bharat.

A Legacy of Equality: Spiritual Reflections Fuel Modern Governance

At the heart of this week’s developments was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the centenary celebration of the historic meeting between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi, held in 1925 at Sivagiri Mutt. Commemorating a conversation that underscored India’s fight against casteism and inequality, Modi described Sree Narayana Guru’s teachings as “a great treasure for humanity.”

“From education to empowerment, from inner liberation to social reform, Sree Narayana Guru envisioned a nation free from discrimination,” the Prime Minister said.

“Today, through saturation models and inclusive schemes, we are turning that vision into reality.”

Initiatives like the PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PM Janman Yojana were cited as examples of spiritual ideals shaping governance. Notably, Modi linked this philosophy to India’s rising status as a global standard-bearer for equity, with programs like One World, One Health and One Sun, One World, One Grid echoing Guru’s principle: “One caste, one religion, one God for mankind.”

Defence Readiness: Fast-Tracked Firepower Against New-Age Threats

Complementing the moral message was a matter of muscle. The Ministry of Defence announced the conclusion of ₹1,981.90 crore worth of emergency procurement contracts, strengthening India’s counter-terrorism (CT) posture. Under the Emergency Procurement (EP) mechanism, the Army fast-tracked the acquisition of mission-critical, fully indigenous equipment, including:

    • Integrated Drone Detection & Interdiction Systems
    • VSHORADS launchers and missiles
    • Loitering munitions and tactical drones
    • Ballistic helmets, bulletproof jackets, and night sights
    • Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicles (QRFVs)

This acceleration is seen as part of a broader shift toward self-reliance in defence, particularly evident in India’s Operation Sindoor, where domestically built arms led to a 22-minute surrender of enemy forces. The Prime Minister affirmed, “Made-in-India weapons will soon earn global respect, because national security cannot depend on imports.”

Driving Forward: India Opens Doors for Global EV Makers

In a move aligning climate goals with manufacturing might, the Ministry of Heavy Industries launched the online application portal for its landmark Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars in India (SPMEPCI). The initiative invites global electric vehicle manufacturers to set up shop in India with a minimum investment of ₹4,150 crore.

Applicants will be permitted to import high-value EVs at reduced customs duty for five years, provided they meet domestic value addition targets. “This is more than a policy, it’s an invitation,” said Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. “An invitation to be part of India’s electric mobility revolution, shaped by innovation and driven by sustainability.”

The scheme is expected to support India’s Net Zero 2070 commitment while reinforcing the pillars of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.

Data That Delivers: NITI Aayog Unveils Quality Framework

As hardware and infrastructure evolve, so must the backend: data. Recognising this, NITI Aayog released the third edition of its Future Front series, titled “India’s Data Imperative: The Pivot Towards Quality.” The report outlines the perils of poor data quality and proposes a two-pronged toolkit:

    1. Data-Quality Scorecard – to measure and monitor integrity metrics
    2. Data-Quality Maturity Framework – for self-assessment and growth planning

According to B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, “Reliable data is no longer optional. It is foundational to digital governance, public trust, and efficient service delivery.”

The report resonates with India’s push to build a digitally inclusive state where real-time insights can guide real-world impact.

A Nation in Sync: From Sivagiri to Cyberspace | Viksit Bharat

Bringing these threads together, spirituality, defence, mobility, and data, is not a coincidence but orchestration. India today stands as a country reimagining its growth narrative not by abandoning the past, but by elevating it.

From Sree Narayana Guru’s spiritual inclusivity to the Defence Ministry’s tactical clarity, from EV policy corridors to NITI Aayog’s data dashboards, this is India’s transformative journey unfolding in real time.

    Viksit Bharat ka Amrit Kaal

“This Amrit Kaal is not just a chapter. It is the beginning of a new book, authored by 140 crore Indians,” PM Modi stated. “We are no longer asking what India can become. We are building what India must be.”

Now is your chance to share your experiences, whether they involve the gradual but steady improvement of people’s lives, the digital transformation of your village, or policy-driven reform.

    And win.

  • India Prepares to Celebrate Yoga Day at 81 Heritage Sites With Open Access for All

India Prepares to Celebrate Yoga Day at 81 Heritage Sites With Open Access for All

New Delhi [India], June 20: Tomorrow, India will awaken not just to another sunrise, but to a nationwide celebration that blends movement with meaning. As the world marks the 11th International Day of Yoga, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is bringing this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, to life by hosting sessions across 81 of the country’s most treasured monuments.

From the silent grandeur of Konark to the centuries-old stones of Chittorgarh, yoga enthusiasts, tourists, students, and curious first-timers will unroll their mats under the open sky. The Ministry of Ayush has partnered with ASI to organize the event, which is designed to create a direct connection between India’s ancient physical spaces and its equally ancient wellness traditions.

To ensure everyone can participate, the government has waived entry fees at all ASI monuments for the day.

Yoga in the Heart of History

The idea behind choosing heritage sites isn’t just symbolic, it’s deeply intentional. Practicing yoga where kings once walked, where artisans once carved stories in stone, and where cultures converged over centuries, offers a quiet reminder: that India’s knowledge systems were never separate from its way of life.

Visitors will find themselves stretching and meditating in places like:

    • Purana Qila in Delhi
    • Gol Gumbaz in Karnataka
    • Kanheri Caves near Mumbai
    • Sun Temple in Odisha
    • Adalaj Vav in Gujarat
    • And dozens more across the country

Each site will host guided sessions, open to all, led by trained instructors who will walk participants through breathing techniques, foundational postures, and the philosophies behind the practice.

    Ministers to Join, Public Invited

In a coordinated effort to make Yoga Day a collective experience, several Union Ministers will join celebrations at historic sites across India:

    • Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at Adalaj Vav near Ahmedabad.
    • Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will join practitioners at Safdarjung Tomb in Delhi.
    • Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will take part at Kanheri Caves, Mumbai.
    • Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Consumer Affairs, will attend the session at Pattadakal in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, the main event will take place in Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lead the session. His participation will be broadcast live across multiple sites and digital platforms.

Delhi’s Science Centre Mix Movement with Learning

While most of the country will celebrate outdoors, one of Delhi’s most dynamic institutions is taking a more academic approach. The National Science Centre (NSC) marks the occasion with a blend of yoga, science, and art, drawing young minds into the world of holistic well-being.

    • A painting competition where students will explore yoga themes through art.
    • A talk on the scientific benefits of yoga, connecting traditional wisdom with modern medical insights.
    • A yoga asana competition for school and college students.
    • And creative contests like essay writing, aimed at encouraging both reflection and expression.

Yoga for the Individual, the Nation, and the Planet

The phrase “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” might sound poetic, but it carries serious meaning, especially in a time when climate change, stress, and global health crises are top of mind. Yoga, in this context, is more than a form of physical exercise. It becomes a quiet resistance to chaos, a personal tool for clarity, and a global call for balance.

This year’s celebrations, held across ancient temples and scholarly institutions, highlight a deeper truth: that India’s heritage has always carried within it the tools not just for survival, but for sustained well-being, of body, mind, society, and nature.

Conclusion: A Day to Breathe as One

As India prepares to roll out mats beneath domes and between colonnades, it’s not just about perfecting a posture or touching your toes. It’s about taking a collective breath. One that acknowledges the past, honors the present, and imagines a more balanced future.

And for one day, entry fees and boundaries will dissolve. The monuments will speak not through plaques or guides, but through silence, breath, and motion. A national reminder that healing begins when we pause and move together.

  • PM Modi, Cyprus President Forge India‑Cyprus Economic Ties in Limassol

PM Modi, Cyprus President Forge India‑Cyprus Economic Ties in Limassol

New Delhi [India], June 16: In a display of strategic optimism and mutual respect, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus led a high-impact business roundtable in Limassol today. This meeting, attended by senior leaders and entrepreneurs from both nations, set a clear tone: India‑Cyprus economic ties are ready to chart a new growth trajectory.

Spanning sectors from finance to logistics, defence to AI, and tourism to quantum technologies, the session reflected an evolving partnership.

India’s rapid ascent: A call to collaboration

PM Modi celebrated India’s remarkable rise over the past 11 years, from the world’s fastest‑growing major economy to the fifth-largest, with ambitions to rank third globally. He credited this success to a stable political environment, transparent policies, and robust ease-of-doing-business initiatives.

He highlighted areas where India excels, civil aviation, ports, shipbuilding, digital payments, and green energy, with clear invitations for Cypriot expertise and investment. Emerging frontiers like AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and critical minerals also emerged as prime zones for cooperation.

    Financial bridges and fintech breakthroughs

Highlighting Cyprus as a prized FDI destination for Indian investors, both leaders welcomed two hallmark developments:

    1. An MoU between NSE International Exchange (GIFT City) and the Cyprus Stock Exchange to deepen financial sector collaboration.
    2. A landmark partnership between NPCI International Payments and Eurobank Cyprus, enabling UPI-based cross-border digital payments, benefiting tourists and businesses alike.

These initiatives underscore a modern financial framework that transcends geography, powered by technology and interoperability.

    Trilateral synergy: India–Greece‑Cyprus Council launched

The gathering also witnessed the launch of the India–Greece–Cyprus (IGC) Business and Investment Council, a trilateral bridge designed to foster cooperation across shipping, logistics, renewable energy, civil aviation, and digital services

Positioned as a collective gateway to global markets, the IGC Council exemplifies a collaborative vision that aligns three nations on growth-focused infrastructure, smart logistics, and technology pathways.

EU Presidency & Free Trade Agreement on the horizon

With Cyprus poised to assume the EU Council Presidency in 2026, both leaders emphasized a strengthened India‑EU strategic partnership. Optimism is high for concluding the long-awaited India‑EU Free Trade Agreement by year-end, an accord that promises to catalyze trade, investment flows, and innovation across both regions.

Building the roadmap: From dialogue to delivery

PM Modi stressed that the session generated pragmatic suggestions that will be transformed into an actionable economic roadmap. The strategy aims to cement long-term collaboration in trade, innovation, and strategic sectors, reinforcing the core message: India‑Cyprus economic ties are entering a dynamic new phase.

    In summary

The Limassol business roundtable was a deliberate step towards deepening India‑Cyprus economic ties. With high-level MoUs, technology framing, and a trilateral council, both nations are signalling a shift from goodwill to structured action.

For business leaders, investors, and economic partners, this sets the stage for collaborative ventures in fintech, infrastructure, digital innovation, green development, maritime, and beyond. As Cypriot President Christodoulides aptly noted, “Today, we are building more bridges… entering a new era of strategic partnership”

This summit in Limassol embodies a shared vision: that India‑Cyprus economic ties aren’t just aspirational, they’re being fortified with clarity, intent, and momentum.

    A Historic High-Altitude Tragedy

This marks the first-ever hull loss of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which entered service in 2009 and is known for its advanced safety features.

According to Reuters, among those aboard were 217 adults and 11 children, heightening concern for families awaiting updates.

Air India’s chairman, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, conveyed deep condolences and emphasised the airline’s commitment to support, with emergency centres active and close assistance being provided to families.

What Lies Ahead: Investigation, Support, and Solidarity

Multiple agencies, the DGCA, Air India, and AAIB, have launched thorough investigations into what went tragically wrong during takeoff. The aircraft was reportedly fully fuelled for its long-haul journey to London, likely intensifying the post-crash fire.

For families and concerned citizens, a round-the-clock toll-free Helpline 1800 5691 444 and the Air India “help centre” are operational. Hospital coordination is ongoing as emergency services continue treating injuries. This incident has united hearts across nations. India, the UK, Canada, and Portugal have all offered condolences and pledges of assistance, underscoring international solidarity in the face of tragedy.

  • India Celebrates 11 Years of Infrastructure Revolution Under PM Modi’s Vision

India Celebrates 11 Years of Infrastructure Revolution Under PM Modi’s Vision

New Delhi [India], June 11: In a powerful reflection on over a decade of relentless progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated 11 Years of Infrastructure Revolution in India, highlighting the nation’s extraordinary journey from fragmented connectivity to a seamless, world-class infrastructure network.

As India continues to race toward a $5 trillion economy, the transformation of its physical backbone stands as a testament to both vision and execution.

On June 11, 2025, the Prime Minister took to X (formerly Twitter) to mark this milestone. “It’s been #11YearsOfInfraRevolution,” he wrote, “with outstanding infrastructure being added that has enhanced India’s growth trajectory.

From railways to highways, ports to airports, India’s rapidly expanding infra network is boosting ‘Ease of Living’ and enhancing prosperity.”

Indeed, the last 11 years have ushered in a new era of progress powered by smart policy, sustainable thinking, and unparalleled execution on the ground.

What was once an aspiration, world-class infrastructure accessible to all corners of India, is now taking concrete shape, quite literally.

From Aspirations to Assets: A Decade of Development

The infrastructure revolution in India began in earnest with a national strategy that transcended political slogans. Roads were not just built, they were expanded into economic corridors. Railway tracks were not just laid; they were electrified, modernised, and made faster. Airports were not just upgraded, they became gateways for regional and global trade.

With the addition of more than 50,000 km of national roads in only ten years, India now has one of the fastest-growing highway networks in the world.

Just the Bharatmala and Sagarmala projects have changed the way people and commodities travel throughout the subcontinent. Under the UDAN program, rural airports have democratised air travel, while ports have expanded their capacity to handle cargo.

Increased commerce, improved logistics, more jobs, and a noticeable improvement in the quality of life have all resulted from the massive knock-on effects.  The infrastructure canvas today depicts a revitalised India that is bold, ambitious, and linked, spanning from the most isolated Northeastern areas to the busy metropolises of Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

The Soul Behind the Steel: A Vision for Sustainability

What sets this revolution apart is not just the scale but the sustainability embedded in it. Whether it is the widespread push for electric railways or the adoption of green construction methods on highways, the government’s approach underscores long-term vision rather than short-term optics.

As Prime Minister Modi reiterated, “India’s push for next-gen infrastructure is powered by sustainability and long-term vision. It is laying the foundations of a self-reliant India.”

Projects like the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) and Gati Shakti have accelerated over 7,000 projects and brought collaboration across many ministries, acting as force multipliers.  These are structural structures intended to endure political cycles and benefit future generations, not just plans.

Empowering Through Infrastructure: The Human Element

Infrastructure is often seen as steel, concrete, and glass, but its real value lies in people. The roads that shorten a farmer’s journey to the market, the railway that connects students to universities, the airport that brings families closer, the digital infrastructure that powers e-learning and telemedicine, these are stories of empowerment.

In this context, the Prime Minister also spotlighted Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s article reflecting on 11 years of inclusive growth. In his words, the journey has “benefited citizens in multiple ways and, more importantly, instilled a belief. A belief that empowers, uplifts, and propels the nation forward.”

Whether it’s access to digital services, better mobility, or stronger rural-urban linkages, the infrastructure revolution in India is as much about inclusion as it is about innovation.

A Nation on the Move, And On a Mission

India’s success in this space has caught the attention of global observers. With infrastructure investment averaging 8% of GDP over the last five years, and flagship schemes like PM Gati Shakti enabling synchronized execution across state and central agencies, India is now a case study in long-term, citizen-centric development.

But the government shows no signs of slowing down. With the upcoming Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, infrastructure will remain the foundation upon which a new India will rise, more inclusive, more self-reliant, and more connected to the future.

As India celebrates this landmark moment, one cannot help but recall the words of a great philosopher, who once said, “You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” In many ways, India’s infrastructure revolution is that dream being paved, track by track, runway by runway.

AM/NS India supplied 25,000 MT of high-strength structural steel, accounting for 70% of the total steel used in the Chenab Bridge. This included specialised steel grades for different components, high-strength steel for the arch and tailored grades for the pillars, a feat accomplished for the first time in India at this scale. Manufactured at flagship Hazira facility, the steel was produced under tightly controlled parameters and subjected to rigorous quality checks by third-party agencies. These efforts ensured the material’s durability, rust resistance, and suitability for the bridge’s extreme altitude and seismic zone.

For the Anji Khad Bridge, AM/NS India supplied approximately 7,000 metric tonnes of customised fabricated steel structures, meeting 100% of the bridge’s steel requirement. The steel was produced at the Hazira facility and tailored to meet the bridge’s unique structural and environmental demands. To ensure durability and long life, the steel was manufactured under controlled parameters and inspected by third-party agencies with stringent quality standards. The fabrication was carried out almost entirely in-house, with augmented facilities to handle the complexity of the design.

With Precision Planning and Agile Execution, AM/NS India implemented several innovations to enhance precision execution. This included optimised production planning across its facilities to meet specific requirements and timelines, integrated with an agile supply chain management to manage potential disruptions and maintain material flow.

New Delhi [India], June 6: On the occasion of World Environment Day, an impactful awareness programme was organized on the theme “Melting Himalayan Glaciers, Dying Ganga” under the aegis of Voice of Ganga and Himalaya – A Global Organization. The event, held at IIC, New Delhi, saw the participation of environmentalists, policymakers, students, and social activists from across the country.

Union Minister Shri Chirag Paswan was the Chief Guest at the event. In his address, he said:

“The Himalayas and the Ganga are not just symbols of our nature—they are the soul of India. Their protection is not just the responsibility of the Ministry of Environment but a moral duty of every citizen. We must turn this into a mass movement.”

Senior legislator, environmentalist, and mentor of The Global Himalaya Organization, Kishore Upadhyay, said on the occasion:

“The Himalayas are not just the lifeline of North India but of the entire South Asian region. If the glaciers continue to melt at this pace, future generations may be left without even drinking water. This is not just an environmental crisis—it’s a warning of impending social and economic disaster.”

Referring to a recently published global study, he highlighted how glaciers are rapidly melting in the Arctic region, including Norway’s Svalbard, and warned that the same is likely for the Himalayan region.

The Save Himalaya Charitable Foundation Maharashtra played a pivotal role in the success of this awareness campaign. The organization actively contributed to organizing the event, raising public awareness, engaging policymakers, and involving the youth.

Ashish Tuli, CEO of the foundation, said:

“Protecting the Himalayas is the first condition for securing the future of human civilization. We must take decisive steps together, because this is not merely an environmental issue—it is a matter of human survival.”

Foundation trustee Karan Doshi also stated:

“Today, the Himalayas are not just losing ice, but our identity, culture, and continuity of life are also under threat. We must connect both emotionally and scientifically to take this mission of saving the Himalayas to every individual.”

A.K. Bajpai, National Vice President of the Lok Janshakti Party, remarked:

“The Himalayan crisis is not merely ecological but a crisis of national existence. Our policies now need to shift into emergency mode and become environment-centric, or future generations won’t forgive us.”

Kishore Upadhyay, a three-time MLA from Tehri and former State President of the Uttarakhand Congress, has been consistently fighting for social, environmental, and cultural concerns in the Himalayan region for over 45 years. He has raised national-level issues such as the Tehri Dam displacement, forest rights, and conservation of Himalayan rivers.

He also mentioned his policy work with two former Prime Ministers and several initiatives in collaboration with institutions like INTACH for the conservation of cultural heritage.

The event concluded with all participants taking a collective pledge:

“Save Himalayas, Save Water, Save Lives”, and appealed to governments and international organizations to give top priority to the climate crisis and frame strong, sustainable policies to protect the Himalayas.
